Foreign Policy of pakistan
Pakistan has a fiercely independent foreign policy, especially when it comes to issues such as development of nuclear weapons, construction of nuclear reactors, foreign military purchases and other issues that are vital to its national interests. Pakistan has a strategic geo-political location at the corridor of world major maritime oil supply lines, and has close proximity to the resource and oil rich central Asian countries. Pakistan is an important member of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), is ranked by the US as a major non-NATO ally in the war against terrorism, and has a highly disciplined and professional military.
The foreign policy of Pakistan sets out in the way it interacts with foreign nations and to determine its standard of interactions for its organizations, corporations and individual citizens.Backed by the semi-agricultural and semi-industrialized economy, Pakistan is the 42th largest (nominal GDP) and 25th largest (purchasing power) economic power in the world, with a defence budget of $6.98 billion, which accounts for approximately ~0.37% of global military spending. The Foreign Minister of Pakistan is the official charged with state-to-state diplomacy, although the Prime minister maintains an ultimate authority over foreign policy. The state foreign policy includes defining the national interest, as well as the economic interest and strategies chosen both to safeguard that and to achieve its policy goals.Following the general election held on May 2013, Tariq Fatimi and NSA Sartaj Aziz are designated as advisers to the Prime Minister on foreign and strategic policies

An Analysis of the HRD Mechanisms Employed by the Submersible Pump Manufactur...Dr. Amarjeet Singh
Human Resource Development (HRD) is a
continuous process of enabling and ensuring the development
of employees in a systematic and planned way. No
organization can grow and survive in the present day
environment without growth and development of its people.
Developing the human resource by upgrading their skills,
extending their knowledge and competencies would lead to
organizational development. Human Resource is the most
important and valuable resource of every organization.
Dynamic people can build dynamic organizations. Efficient
employees can contribute to the effectiveness of an
organization. Competent and motivated employees can make
things happen and enable an organization to achieve its goal.
Therefore, organizations should continuously ensure that the
dynamism, competence, motivation and effectiveness of the
employee always remain high. The present study is an attempt
to contribute to a better understanding of the HRD climate
prevailing in submersible manufacturing organizations. The
general climate, HRD Mechanisms and OCTAPAC culture
are better in submersible pump organizations.

35. Recommendations
• HRM in Pakistan be understood from a broad and not from a narrow,
ethnocentric perspective.
• Second, it is recommended that researchers avoid assuming that HRM in a
developing country may not be challenging enough.
• The international HRD community should consider creating collaborative
partnerships with public and private HRM institutions in South Asia, particularly
in Pakistan.
• Pakistan has an acute shortage of HRM researchers and practitioners (Aftab
2007), which is proving to be a major obstacle in the country’s economic
growth.
• Fourth, as suggested by participants in the December 2006 AHRD conference
in Malaysia (Ismail et al. 2007), the influence of Asia’s current political issues,
socio-economic development, and culture on HRD should be addressed.
• Fifth, efforts should be made to create long-term partnerships with the HEC,
Pakistan.
• Efforts should be made to use of technology to promote collaborative efforts
with institutions in Pakistan.
