A Report On Phr ( Personal Health Record )
INTRODUCTION: I am going to prepare a report on PHR (personal health record), What are its
benefits and How it is useful.PHR is an E device used by the patients to maintain their health
information in a safe and secure environment. This stands in opposite to the more likely used e
medical record and data is operated by hospitals and contains data entered by physician or billing data
to help insurance company. The proposition of a PHR is to give a total and brief outline of a patient s
health history which is available on the internet. The information data on a PHR may consolidate
patient reported result data, lab results, data from contraptions, for instance, remote electronic
measuring scales or assembled inactively from an advanced cell phone. BACKGROUND OF THE

Aeneas Definition Of Justice Essay
Plato, in the Republic, seeks to define justice while showing how justice is worthwhile and good in
itself. To him, justice is mainly centered around the idea of fulfilling appropriate roles. He describes
what justice is like in both the city and the individual, and appeals to human psychology through this
analogy. In Book IV, Plato completes this analogy by introducing justice within the individual. He
claims that justice in the city parallels justice in the individual. Justice for the individual, according to
Plato, is about the fulfillment of appropriate roles and the relationships among them. The question is if
Aeneas lived a justly life or was he unjust. The focus I will have will be how Aeneas was considered
just off the battlefield by not being distracted and progressing his people into the golden era . ... Show

Plato s definition again reuttered says, Justice as an individual is about the fulfillment of appropriate
roles and the relationships among them. Aeneas easily fulfills his role and more. Aeneas could have
given up and not gone through and abandoned his people from the beginning when he was in sorrow
that his people died but again it shows here that he in modern terminology, sucked it up . In Book I it
says, So, ran the speech. Burdened and sick at heart, He feigned hope in his look, and inwardly
contained his anguish. (Aeneid I). This quote showed that even though Aeneas was saddened by the
falling of his people that he had to hold it in and keep strong to continue to guide and comfort his
people in this time of disbelief and discomfort. There is clear evidence that Aeneas was just in his
actions but there are reasons that he could be considered unjust but the evidence is substantially
weaker in comparison to him being

An Argument Against Auteur Theory.
Auteurism: A Disease of Greatness.
The term Auteur seems to bless a privileged group of filmmakers with an almost messiah like legacy.
Men such as Alfred Hitchcock, John Ford and Fritz Lange are believed to inhabit the ranks of the
cinematic elite, and not surprisingly most critics are more than willing to bestow upon them the title of
Auteur. By regarding filmmaking as yet another form of art, Auteur theory stipulates that a film is the
direct result of its director s genius. With the emerging prominence of auteur based criticism in the
1950?s, the role of the director became increasingly integral to a film s success. However most would
argue that this form of criticism didn t reach its apex until 1960s, when Andrew Sarris released his ...

He merely didn t adhere to a set of criteria which could safely classify his work as art . When asked
why he was not respected by American critics, as he is in Europe, Corman responded,
Ordinarly there is a great deal of snobbery from American film critics, they will accept a film by
Stanley Kramer as a work of art before they see it, or a film from a European director...but they
unloose their ire against low or medium budget Hollywood productions 3
Considered one of the greatest of all American directors, John Ford would no doubt be regarded an
auteur by those who choose to utilize the phrase. One can imagine Ford carefully weaving beautiful
images of monument valley, to fulfill his artistic allegories, or demanding the most effective of
performances from a cast who manage to convey the emotions which stir inside this most American of
auteurs. Just as Corman seems to put a great deal of philosophical thought into crafting what many
consider to be simple films, Ford seems to suggest that his cinematic choices are often over analyzed.
In an interview with fellow western film director Burt Kennedy, Ford was asked about some of these
choices, which have come to define much of his style, and his answers are surprisingly simplistic.
When questioned about his connection to Monument Valley, and the reasoning behind choosing that
location, Ford responded I knew

Stop And Frisk Report
Introduction In the 1990s, the growth of violent crime reached its all time high in New York City. In
response to the number of high murder rates in the 1990s, the New York City Police Department
realized that whatever they are doing to reduce violent crime was not working. The local news
reported that New Yorkers were afraid to wear their jewelry in public. Some reported they had to
sprint to the subway exit to avoid victimization when the door opened. The New York City Police
Department decided to implement a practice of Stop, Question, and Frisk. This practice became to
known as Stop and Frisk (Bellin, 2014). Stop and Frisk was a method in which an officer stops a
pedestrian and asked them a question, and then frisks them for any weapon ... Show more content on

First, the reduction of violent crime has not provided correlation with the number of stops made.
Secondly, one of the purposes articulated was to reduce gun use, a data from 2008 to 2011 shows 27%
increase in stop and frisks and shootings had not gone down, the number of shooting actually rose.
Third, the stop and frisk policy was just another form of crime fighting tool implemented by the
NYPD and it is difficult to isolate the effectiveness of this policy. In other words, there was no benefit
of this policy. However, it cost community policing relations with minority to diminish due to how
law enforcement treated minorities during the implementation of stop and frisk. There are specific
recommendations that can be set forth to improve the stop and frisk. The first recommendation
involved (1) improving training of NYPDs officers as to the laws governing the policy to ensure that
the officers are in accordance with the law; (2) changing the current incentives from measuring the
number of stops to considering the results of the stops; (3) considering pilot program testing to use
audio or visual recording stop and frisks; and (4) establishing an oversight monitor to ensure the
implementation of the

The War Of The Union And Confederate Side During The Civil...
One of the few newspapers to act like Switzerland received a huge amount of backlash for doing so.
The Republican paper did not succumb to the Union or confederate side and instead advocated for
both sides, since the two editors of the paper had different views, but the public was not pleased with
this decision. The general public deemed it weakness and a sign of duplicity to publish articles
advocating both sides of the issue and dubbed the paper the swill tub (Sachsman, 2014, p. 53). A
Virginia paper tried this tactic as well, to no avail. The attempt, however, on the part of any opposition
paper to be simultaneously a Union journal and a Southern journal was becoming illogical if not well
neigh impossible (Cappon, 1936, p.14). This explains why the majority took a side during the civil
war, as no newspaper wanted to loose the core of their audience due to not taking sides. It is important
to note that not all of the papers in this era were propagandist. The Enquirer was able to omit their
opinions and write objectively about the war. Wise and his successors objectively reported the news
rather than venting their dissatisfaction with Confederate s conduct of the war (Davis Robertson,
2009, p. 37). This should have been how all the papers of this era reported the war yet a backlash
amongst the public contributed to a public outcry, which can be detrimental to a newspapers survival.
The U.S. government and Confederates were susceptible to using propaganda to sway

On Being an Atheist, by H.J. McCloskey Essay
In the article On Being an Atheist, H.J. McCloskey attempts to inform his readers that the belief in
atheism is a much more comfortable belief by effectively using a disdainful rhetoric towards theists
and their faith. McCloskey delves into both the Cosmological and Teleological arguments, which
within he criticizes the arguments and to further his argument against theism, he also presents the
Problem of Evil and why evil cannot possibly exist with a perfect God being the creator of universe.
What will be displayed in this essay are the counter arguments to McCloskey s criticisms and the
attempt to discredit his claims that regard the comfortable position that lies within atheism and its
arguments. H.J. McCloskey utilizes the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The argument discussed is one that has an unending list of contingent beings, all of which need a
cause for existence. According to the article, McCloskey assumes that the argument calls for an
uncaused cause to start an infinite number of contingent beings. McCloskey believes that each
contingent being simply exists with an infinite number of causes that eventually lead back to a case of
chance. In Philosophy of Religion by Stephen Evans, Evans refers to this way of thinking as a brute
fact. According to Evans, by claiming this stance would turn the partial argument into a whole
argument and concurrently, this will require the defender of the argument to claim that the
contingency of the whole of the universe can validly be inferred from the contingency of all its parts.
Where McCloskey s ignorance further takes a violent curve against acquiring knowledge about the
beginning of the universe connects to his argument is when he said This means that the first cause
must be explained as being a necessarily existing being, one who cannot exist. What he is alluding to,
and is also the focal point of his disapproval of theism, is that humans do not have the right to claim
that a being created the universe. If an atheist can claim that there is no such existence of God, then
why is it that a theist cannot claim the existence of a God? In the

Operational Leaders Down At The Platoon And Squad Level
Operational leaders down to the platoon and squad level have recently faced increasingly complex
missions in uncertain operational environments. Accordingly, Army doctrine has shifted to officially
recognize mission command, which enables leaders at the lowest level feasiblt to exercise disciplined
initiative in the accomplishment of a larger mission (ADP 6 ), 2012, p. 2). Mission command is broken
down into six tenants: undertand, visualize, describe, direct, lead, and assess (Mission Command
2011, 3 5). During the battle of Fallujah, LtGen Natonski understood the intent two levels up,
visualizing courses of actions for both allies and the enemy and leading his organization into combat

Mission command is execution of military operations through devolved execution based upon mission
type orders. Successful mission command demands that leaders at all echelons employ disciplined
initiative and act aggressively and independently to accomplish the mission. Throughout the
operation, commanders must understand, visualize, describe, direct, lead and assess the mission and
develop courses of action as needed. Let us look at some of the six principles of mission command.
Understanding
The battle of Fallujah is considered to be the bloodiest war of Iraq. In mission command, the
commander must understand the problem, envision the end state and visualize the nature and design of
operation. Familiarity of the environment and utilization of right resources were crucial in making
decisions at all levels, led to a successful reestablishment of governance of Fallujah. LtGen Natonski
was able to reduce civilian casualties and damage to infrastructures by envisioning and developing
courses of action that clearly described and directed his intent at all levels. This was clearly observed
and seen during a briefing conducted to the Regimental Combat teams (RCT) commanders who left
with a good understanding of the intent of the operation in the early stages of planning. The British,
Iraqi forces and attached Army units to RCT 1 7

The Life Of Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol
The Victorian Period lasted from 1832 to 1901 under Queen Victoria s reign. The culture revealed in
this era was a time of rapid change, social inequality, industrialization, supernatural and religious
beliefs, and was accurately reflected in the works of Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol. Roles of
men and women were strictly defined, as were economic statuses. The hustle and bustle of the streets
led to illnesses. Working conditions were destitute and unsanitary. Children often had little to no
education, unless very fortunate. New advancements in technology arose, after the industrialization of
the United Kingdom began.
As a result of Queen Victoria s reign, a strict division between social classes was defined.

The cotton, coal, trade, and ship building industries were booming. Aside from shaping the historical
reality of the time, Dickens represented narrative pathways, perspectival frames, and models of
behavior that guided his modern society audience towards finding their places in a rapidly changing
industrial age(Fiske). He wrote the entertaining novella, A Christmas Carol, as an escape from the
world of modernity, into a world of spirituality. Regarding the religious beliefs in the Victorian Period,
Victorians were primarily characterized by Christianity. The term Victorian is familiar with social
decorums that encompass strong religious customs(Coleman). As a product of industrialization, the
traditional British Christmas we know today is not found in the midsts of history(Flanders). Charles
Dickens was partially responsible for Victorian England s regained Christmas spirit. He reflected the
themes of redemption, family, merriness, and Christmas spirit in his narrative. For example, The
Spirits of all Three shall strive within me. Oh, Jacob Marley! Heaven and the Christmas Time be
praised for this! I say it on my knees, old Jacob, on my knees!, Dickens demonstrated Scrooge s
redemption and new found Christmas spirit(Dickens 82). Religion during the Victorian Period had a
vast impact on Dickens writing, he wrote stories through his belief in Christianity. In addition to
strong religious beliefs, Victorians turned to supernatural ways of reasoning. Due

Paul Dunbar Sympathy Essay
Paul Dunbar, an African American poet who was famous during the Harlem Renaissance, wrote a
poem titled, Sympathy in 1899. The poem expressed his relations to a caged bird and how he
understands how the caged bird feels. Dunbar s use of imagery and repetition helps to clearly depict
the struggle to obtain freedom and the feeling of imprisonment. Dunbar s usage of imagery is greatly
expressed throughout the poem, with the uses of your senses. When the river flows like a stream of
glass; When the first bird sings and the first bud opes... , Dunbar uses the senses of sight and hearing
to help the reader picture the scenery to better understand that the bird is trapped in a cage witnessing
the beautiful outside of flowers blossoming and can t be a part of it. In addition, Dunbar later
elaborates the birds struggle to be on the inside of the cage by stating I know why the caged bird beats
his wing Till its blood is red on the cruel bars And a pain still throbs in the old, old scars and they

Dunbar states in the first and last line of every stanza I know what or I know why to reassure the
reader that he completely understands and may be feeling the same way in relation to his life. Due to
Dunbar understanding how the bird feels, he may have once felt isolated, confined, or oppressed by
society at some point in his life. However, he may even understand the hope the bird feels in regards
to overcoming the struggle. At the end of the poem, Dunbar concludes with, When his wing is bruised
and his bosom sore It is not a carol of joy or glee, but a prayer that he sends from his heart s deep
core... which could be insinuating the hope to be free and a plea to have his voice heard so that

The American Declaration Of Independence
Although Americas often preach that we aim to constantly uphold the founding principles of this
country, our government has denied citizens an essential entitlement by refusing to grant accessible
health care for all people. The American Declaration of Independence famously states We hold these
truths to be self evident that all men are created equal and endowed by their creator with certain
unalienable rights, including life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The right to pursue life has
been denied to the American people for decades now because there is no organized option for
assistance in maintaining proper health. Hypocritical American leaders continue to praise our unique
freedoms while they sit idly by as countless citizens ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Prominent life insurance companies prepared to capture the private health care market and target it
towards all of their consumers as well as growing families and other groups (Budrys 72). These
companies seized the growing opportunity to cover Americans everywhere and by 1950 almost half
the American population had hospital insurance, compared to less than ten percent just a decade
before (Stevens 259). These private companies functioned as for profit businesses in order to earn
money for elite company employees, unlike the scarce options, which preceded their plans that sought
to improve their companies with acquired profits.
Once health care became a prevalent issue for Americans and their employer s elite lobbyists began
emerging in the rising market. The American Medical Association, founded in 1847, became the
largest organized group of physicians in America (Palmer, Karen). Members of the AMA were often
encouraged to avoid Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) programs, which emerged throughout
the 1930s, eventually going so far as to incentivizing their physicians to resist any form of national
health insurance. Later, their effort to end socialized medicine evolved in 1945 to the biggest lobbyist
movement of its time. At $1.5 million this action lead to a national movement of private companies
attacking the political world with their money and power in an effort to manipulate the American
government and change the way Americans thought about and funded

The European Crisis And The Transformative Role Of The Emu
How the EU responded to euro crisis and the transformative role of the EMU? That the incomplete
preparatory works in the initial period of the EU monetary establishment partly resulting in the euro
crisis, had revealed how unrigorous and incompatible mechanisms the EU institutions proposed and
conducted. There is no mechanism set up for addressing the debt crisis problem tracked back to the
time point when the euro was established, and thus resulted in the hastily drawn and agreed
emergency rescue plans, which were viewed unfavourable to the majority of EU countries as they
seemed merely synonymous with those bailouts. Based on this ambiguous and unstable solutions the
EU had provided, the worldwide disappointing impression had been created on the split opinions of
the larger countries that offered the loans regarding how best to save the crisis. In consequence, the
crisis had been prolonged along with the increasingly weakened EU confidence in international
markets due to the lack of decisive action. (Harari, 2014) As the most principle stance in EU monetary
architectures, the EMU has experienced an incredible institutional transformation under the
tremendous pressures not matter from the EU or national levels. In Dyson s (2000) observation, the
EMU s actual effects on European states began from 1 January 1999. However, the process for putting
its conditions in place can be traced to the European Monetary System (EMS) in 1979, since when the

Kurt Jooss The Green Table
The Green Table
In the beginning of the 20th century, a new dance form called Ausdruckstanz, promoting a more
spontaneous physical expression of emotion, was spearheaded by Rudolf Laban (Au 96). Unlike the
contemporary European ballet focusing on technical virtuosity and visual spectacle, Ausdruckstanz,
also known as expressive dance, emphasizes expression in human movement (Au 87). As professor
Bennahum explains, expressionism means the deepest connection to the soul and to the projection of
emotion and emotional states... rage, jealousy, grave on stage. During this time, Kurt Jooss, the pupil
of Laban, attracted public attention. Jooss, who was considered the founder of an important theater

Throughout the dance, there is only one instrument used; the melody of the piano changes from scene
to scene in order to project Jooss different emotional responses. Before the dance begins, discordant
piano sounds foretell the ominous atmosphere of the ballet that will unfold (Balkus). During the
scenes with the politicians, the music is a lighthearted and comedic tango, as Au mentions (100).
Tango is a meaningful choice because it plays well with the satirical theme of Jooss. The seriousness
of the masked diplomats conference is satirically offset by the tango music that accompanies this
scene. Also, tango is a good music setting off the atmosphere. This on and off beat rhythm contrasts
with the tense situation. In the scene of Death, tango has been changed into a very menacing and
cynical tune, matching the movements of Death perfectly. The music created with the dancer s feet is
related to the ticking of a clock. As an important element of the dance, the music works well with the
dancing but does not negatively influence the shape of the

The Relationship Between Occident And Orient
To begin, may be a bit abruptly, I would like to quote from Edward Said s Orientalism :: The
relationship between Occident and Orient is a relationship of power , of domination , of varying
degrees of a complex hegemony... And he mentions Flaubert s impression of an Egyptian courtesan
..that she was ever silent and never represented her emotions, presence, or history. Flaubert as the
male, superior, occidental has all the right to present her as typically Oriental she is denied her own
voice . My idea is that GENDER formed one of the pillars on which EMPIRE was constructed and the
binaries namely male/superior and female/inferior contributed to the structure of Imperialism. It is
again an empire/colonizer and nation/colonized binary system.

With all that s happened in the turning tides of the political climate in Washington DC, I find a
misquote of an original Albert Einstein quote to be appropriate:
Everything should be as simple as it can be, but not simpler.
It s obvious we live in a divisive time. But lately I ve started to wonder if we live in an oversimplified
one as well. I wonder if our heightened emotions have mistakenly led us to believe things were much
more straightforward then they are. We feel so passionately about so much. And the louder our voices
get, the deeper our convictions go. We are certain unity is possible. (If only the other side who could

Still, it does make it more lonely.
But the thing is, I m not convinced I am the only one. I think there are a lot of us. At least I hope there
are. I hope there is an undercurrent of insurgents who are not allowing a political party to determine
where we belong and what we believe. Who see the humanity in those who take the same positions we
do, and in those who are bitterly opposed. Who believe to simplify the cause is to undermine the
cause. And that to reduce the issues to the lowest common denominator is to reduce the personhood of
those who don t agree with us.
We are the new revolutionaries who know that nothing is as simple as it appears, that things are more
murky than maybe either side feels comfortable admitting, and that the act of not belonging anywhere
is in and of itself belonging and taking a stand somewhere. This too takes courage, self reflection, and
conviction. We are not copping out, selling out, or flaking out. We are leaning in, we are tuning in, and
we are giving in to something larger than our need to feel comfortable. We are learning to live in the in
between.

Fredrick Douglass Argumentative Analysis
Lastly, on the subject of discrimination are the viewpoints that come from Fredrick Douglass author of
the essay Reconstruction (1866). Unfortunately, Douglass was an individual that endured the abuse of
slavery, until managing to flee (Van Camp, 2014). It was through Douglass s experiences of slavery
and beyond, that lead him down a journey to seek fairness for all, including slaves and the rights of
women (Van Camp, 2014). Although the Civil War had ended and slavery was supposed to be
eliminated, Douglass moved forward by writing the essay, Reconstruction (Van Camp, 2014). It is a
piece of literature that seemed to illuminate Douglass s views on the possibility that although the Civil
War ended and slavery was no longer acceptable, there was still reason to believe that the country ...

The government was making all decisions for the country and the people within it; without the
opportunity for the citizens voice to be heard it left all vulnerable and subject to only what the

of the opinion that Douglass had a vision that is still warranted in today s democracy and that is,
citizens have the right to be heard and it is a country that is ran based on the premise of the American
citizens. With that being said, there is however potential complications that may arise from this
reasoning or vision. One is the possibility of self serving practices, acting upon what is best for an

City Of God Cinematography Essay
The used of cinematography and camera movement is hands down one of the most, if not the most
important thing of a good film. I believe that they are two of the things that make for a great film. So
when asked to compare a scene from Raising Arizona and City of God, I had to choose two of my
most iconic scenes in film history, the chicken chase from City of God and the diaper heist from
Raising Arizona. In two of the most iconic scenes in movie history, it is only natural that a slew of
camera techniques are used to tell the story of each particular scene, most of which are some of the
same methods. One of the most noticeable parallels between the films is the camera lens and the use
of shallow focus. Shallow focus is the main source of camera ... Show more content on

While the use of shallow focus is something that is conspicuous throughout both of the scenes,
Raising Arizona also feature a zoom shot when the camera focus switches subjects to the diaper
package that has been dropped. A portion of framing is also a difference within each scene, though the
framing is mostly level, Raising Arizona also uses a canted framing when shooting the running within
the street. A high angle of framing is used in City of God, during the shooting scene. This is used to
display more people on the screen and heighten the sense of panic. Crane shot and whip pan are also
used in the scene of City of God, given the amount of individuals in that scene; whip pan is used quite
a bit to get everyone in the shot. A crane is used at the beginning for parts such as walking down stairs.
In City of God, a difference in speed rate is also a noticeable variance among the scenes. While all of
these are slight differences, the most obvious deviations in technique are the camera movement. For
Raising Arizona, the use of tracking shot and tilt are used specifically for the running scenes. While, in
City of God, almost the entire scene is shot using a Steadicam, noted by the tremulousness of the
camera during all of the moving

Generational Differences Of Generation X And Post-Millennials
Generational Differences of Generation X and Post Millennials When observing the core ideologies of
a group, the various circumstances to which the said group was exposed profoundly impacts their
beliefs, in turn developing the methods through which their ideologies arise in society. Pertaining to
the values of given generations, the stark contrast existing between the application of their values
often compromises the structure of society as a whole as the conflicts arising between the said groups
exacerbates societal similarities between generations. With the disparity existing between the lives of
those from Generation X and Post Millennials and consequently their values, the cumulated ideology
of society, existing from a combination of both groups values, has challenged the well being of the
state of health and in turn, initiated the deterioration of genuine interaction and integrity. Considering
those associated with Generation X, their core values, grounded in independence coupled with
stability, allowed society to develop a structure through which individuals could function. Prior to
beginning to perceive the values of the generation themselves, one must first observe their
manifestation given the context of the time period. In observing the socioeconomic situation of the
time, an era of two income families, rising divorce rates, and a faltering economy (Kane), one notices
the breeding ground for their individualistic ideals and consequently their core ideologies grounded in
tangible success rather than true fulfillment. The necessity to adapt to the home situation often
containing two working parents, often divorced, inevitably allowed those in Generation X to develop a
sense of independence a more importantly, perceive the need for it, from a young age. Given this
sense of stoicism that was allowed to develop through this, one can see the generation s almost
impervious nature to the psychological implications of social jealousy. Due to their individualism and
distaste for social ingratiation, the generation established an underlying pragmatic nature in the society
of their time. In addition to this, Generation Xers grew up in an age of incessant political turmoil. Take
for example, the Cold War,

Causes Of War Of 1812
On July 18, 1812, the United States declared war on Britain which resulted in the beginning of The
War of 1812. The War of 1812 was a military conflict between the United States and Great Britain.
The war lasted from 1812 to 1814. The War started when the colony of Great Britain and Canada, was
invaded by the Americans. The war was fought in Upper Canada, Lower Canada, on the Great Lakes,
the Atlantic, and in the United States. The War of 1812 was a big dispute between the United States
and the British Empire. The British limited the American trade system because they were afraid it
would be damaging to their war with France. They also wanted to arrange for an Indian state in the
Midwest. They wanted to do this to maintain their influence in the region. That s why 10,000 Native
Americans fought for the British in the war of 1812. Because Canada was a British colony at this time,
Canadians were considered as British allies. Americans just wanted to prove their independence from
the British Empire once and for all.
As you can see there were multiple causes of the War of 1812. One main cause was because Great
Britain had full power over most of Canada and Americans wanted them to leave so they could expand
the United States. Another cause would be because the trade ban by Britain and France proceeded in
the capturing of American ships. Lastly, because, Great Britain had begun to stop American ships and
forced the people on the ships to join the British Navy. The United

A Comparison Of Maroon V And One Band
Maroon V and OneRepublic Maroon V (five). OneRepublic. Both of these are bands you have
probably heard of on the radio at least once. Maroon V is quite a bit further ahead than OneRepublic
despite the fact that they are just a few years apart in age. The reasoning behind that could be that they
are obviously similar. It is probably just because Adam Levine is a swoon worthy man.
There are many ways in which the bands are similar, but are there really that many in the ways they
are different? Well, when it comes to how you can differentiate the two, the only way to do it is to go
through the statistics. Both Maroon V and OneRepublic s songs sound somewhat similar, but what
makes them different is where they got their inspiration from. In an interview with Adam Levine, he
stated that his band s inspiration came from a number of singers and bands, including Michael
Jackson, Tupac, Justin Timberlake, Marvin Gaye, and Billy Joel. That was only a few. OneRepublic s
Ryan Tedder stated that when the group gets together, they like to get a little bit of inspiration from
some singers, but they like to make their music by whatever comes to them. The few influence
OneRepublic had included M83, U2, and the Beatles. The only common influential artist between the
two bands was Prince. Who wouldn t want to be like Prince?
The two bands also differ in terms of popularity. Sure you hear OneRepublic from time to time, but do
you hear it nearly as much as you hear Maroon V? There was never a

Toyota Company s Success Within The World After General...
Introduction Toyota is the largest automobile company in Japan and the second largest car seller in the
world after General Motors. It produces approximately eight million vehicles annually, four million
less than the General Motors. Toyota Company dominates the home market, with an estimate of 40%
of all the vehicles being Toyotas (Ma). The company has a vast market share both in Europe and
United States. It also has significant shares in other fast growing countries in Asia. The company
produces a range of vehicles that are valued for their quality, standards, reliability, design and ease of

production facilities will be designed in such a manner that they will be flexible. This will enable the
company to switch and adapt very easily to new models without any ramp up production of the
existing models within the shortest period. While doing this, it will ensure that the quality has not been
compromised. On the other hand, the organization will use robots for mass production. However, the
company will be flexible to either use human labor or robots for production line offers (Barnes, Blake

utilized and fitted with accuracy and precision. This will involve combined efforts of various
inspection teams during the process. Group members on the line will be responsible for ensuring all
the parts they use are up to the standard. They will be their inspectors as well as co workers. In case a
problem is spotted in any vehicle, any member of the team will pull a rope known as andon cord to

The Importance Of Women In College Education
In the us women with some college education have more opportunities for higher paying jobs and this
has affected society by making women more independent. Having an education does not mean a job is
in the near future. Having an education is a way to establish self esteem, better one s self as well as
gain knowledge. Women s colleges and universities persist around the world, even as the vast majority
of tertiary institutions are open to men and women. In nearly every nation, women can attend even the
most elite formerly all male universities, and in several nations women are many of all college
students. Questions therefore arise about the continued need for a single sex sector in the 21st century
(Renn , 2012)
Education is considered as the critical software for development as it shapes the destiny for every
society. Currently the initiative is driven by the Millennium Development Goals and the goals of
Education for All. The MDG s with direct reference to women education are Goal 2: Achieve
universal primary education and Goal 3: Promote gender equality and empower women. This means
that everybody in the society should be given a chance to attend school, women included (Anne
Syomwene , 2015)
Firstly, women in society are all invited to obtain a higher education. The issue is not that women not
being allowed to obtain an education the problem is that not enough women are aware that college is a
stepping stone in life. Not enough women come out of high school necessarily

Helicopter Parenting Is Wrong
Imagine if someone did all your laundry, payed all your bills, called your professors and bosses, and
basically solved all your problems for you. You may feel grateful at first until you realize that they are
denying you the right to be self sufficient. This is exactly how adult children feel when their parents
are overinvolved. Overparenting has been a popular media topic recently. Whereas parents used to
stop supporting their children as soon as they turned eighteen (Etterson 5), more and more parents are
continuing to hover, which is commonly referred to as helicopter parenting ( Helicopter 1). This type
of parenting involves ... inappropriate levels of parental directiveness, tangible assistance, problem
solving, monitoring, and involvement into the lives of children (Segrin, et al. 1). Even though helping
a child learn to navigate through adulthood can have a positive impact on their life, parents should be
wary of believing that what they consider to be best for their child is also want their child wants.

Michael Moore Capitalism Synopsis
Michael Moore is the writer and director of the highly relevant documentary film, Capitalism: A Love
Story. To me, the most interesting chapter of the film is Dead Peasants. Moore talked about capitalism
is a system of giving and taking, mostly taking . In my opinion, it sounds true for me. Moore
illustrated Irma Johnson s husband Dan ironic case. Who recently died of cancer, leaving behind Irma
and their two sons. They filmed the woman cried and sadly talked about her husband. Her husband

The Similarities And Differences Of Passive Voice In English
During the acquisition of English, Vietnamese learner have to encounter many difficulties because of
these two languages belong two different groups. One of the most difficult problems is passive voice.
Take these sentences as example : The rice is cook and Cơm chín rồi . We can see that these two
sentences have the same meaning but one in passive form and the other in active form. Thus, It makes
learners confused about using passive form properly when translating because sometimes an active
sentence in Vietnamese can be a passive sentence in English. As a teacher to be of English, a
Vietnamese learner, I want to do this paper to help English learner clear about all the similarities and

These are some definitions:
In grammar, the voice of a verb describes the relationship between the action (or state) that the verb
expresses and the participants identified by its arguments (subject, object, etc.). When the subject is
the agent or doer of the action, the verb is in the active voice. When the subject is the patient, target of
the action, the verb is said to be in the passive voice . ( Voice n.d.)
Voice is a grammatical category of verbs that is related to what thing or person is acting and what
thing or person is being acted upon. (Crystal, 2002)
There are two voices in English : active voice and passive voice. While active is used to focus on the
doer, passive voice is used to emphasize on the reciever or the act rather than the performer. Take this
sentence as a example:
Her brother was captured by the police.
Her brother is the recipient of the action captured was emphasized and the performer is the police.
As a matter of fact, passive voice is not widely used as active. However, in some cases like acadamic
writing, passive is the chosen over active.

Installing Bamboo Flooring Essay
Usually there are no instructions in the box on installing bamboo flooring, but it is done just like
ordinary hardwood flooring. The proper floor preparation is essential before any installation. It is
important that all sub flooring be flat with a tolerance of no more than one half inch over a twelve foot
span. If the sub floor is made of wood, staples are better to use than flooring cleats. Staples hold better
and do not squeak when stepped upon. If you decide to use a glue down installation, use the adhesive
that is specified by the manufacturer. Be sure to avoid water based adhesives at all costs.

The oil urethane wood finish supplies a highly durable coating that allows the beauty of the wood to
shine through while minimizing discoloration due to age. A lambs wool applicator is required for even
coating, and one gallon can cover over 600 square feet. The water based urethane finish can be used
only on previously sealed surfaces. The crystal clear coating shows off the natural wood beauty, and it
dries very fast. No mixing is required, and it is very economical to use. One gallon will cover up to
1000 square feet.

Polyurethane hardwood floor finishes are blends of synthetic resins that protect the surface of wood.
They are moisture resistant and available in high gloss and semi gloss as well as satin and matte. The
finish is recommended for kitchens where splashing water may be a problem. The polyurethane finish
is the most common and it turns a lovely shade of amber as it ages. Do not shake the polyurethane
container because air bubbles will appear in the final finish. Instead, stir the container to avoid any
mishaps. The coating should be applied with a brush or roller going with the grain to avoid marking
the finish.

The types of hardwood floor finishes determine the kind of maintenance you must use to keep the
floor new looking. Most of the time all you have to do is sweep the floor with a broom or dust mop,
and clean up spills as soon as they

Broca s Aphasi A Case Study
Broca s and Wernicke s aphasia are two types of aphasia that can affect an individual s naming,
fluency, comprehension and repetition abilities. Aphasia is a disorder that occurs when there is
damage to areas of the brain, which causes an individual to have difficulty in areas such as producing
and comprehending speech. Broca s Aphasia Signs and Symptoms Major signs and symptoms of
Broca s aphasia include non fluent speech and poor repetition abilities (Murdoch, 2010). Brain Based
Communication Disorders (2010) recognizes additional signs and symptoms including consonant and
vowel distortions, slow and hesitant speech rate, and an increase in errors as utterance length and
complexity increase for the individual with Broca s aphasia. Anomia, a symptom featured in this type
of aphasia, inhibits an individual to recollect words; not limited to nouns (Harryman, Kresheck,

1. Discuss the use of music in Catholic and Protestant worship practice, from the development of
polyphony, through the music of J.S. Bach. In so doing, discuss the shift in responsibility for musical
development from the Catholic Church to the Lutheran Church.
During the middle Ages, the Catholic Church was the sole contributor to musical development. The
music of the early church was monophonic, and had nonmetric melodies set in one of the church
modes, or scales. The rise or development of polyphony came about during the Renaissance period;

employability of professional musicians? Include why the aristocratic court orchestras dissolved, the
employability of performers with that collapse, and the subsequent rise of the city sponsored

The French Revolution signaled the transfer of power from a hereditary landholding aristocracy to the

the middle class got stronger and stronger; as a result many professional musicians had to seek work
else to provide for themselves and their family. Prior to the shift, musicians were skilled workers who
were paid to practice and preform music. Once the aristocratic court orchestras disappeared, many city
such as Vienna started city ensembles so that musicians would still be able to be working musicians ;

For example, the discovery of corn in places such as Southern Ontario proved the complexity of trade

Dr Poutanen, Aboriginal peoples before European contact were dynamic, complex, and culturally rich

There were many different types of encounters including contact, collision and relationship. Initially,

Quality Of Measures
This paper will highlight the information epidemiologists utilize to evaluate the quality of measures
used in research as well as provide reasons why the quality of measures are essential and finally
explain how epidemiologists ensure the measures used in research are of good quality.
a. What type of information do epidemiologists use to judge/evaluate the quality of their measures?
Tests for validity and reliability are the criteria mostly used by epidemiologists to judge the quality of
measures used in research. Reliability of the measure shows that when different observers use the
measure at different occasions, they will obtain similar test results (1). For example, a measure that
determines weight gain among male adults in Saskatoon ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The standards of acceptable reliability which epidemiologists seeks to attain include internal
consistency exceeding 0.8 and stability measures greater than 0.5 (3), nevertheless, even if the internal
consistency of a measure is low, it is better the measure has high stability and content validity.
Validity tests involve ensuring that the instrument is measuring what the epidemiologist intended (4),
validity has several components including content and construct validity. Validity of the measure at
minimum can be assessed subjectively by expert opinion of one or more experts in the field of study,
where experts review the measure to determine if the instrument appears to be assessing the desired
qualities (Face Validity) or determining whether the instrument samples all the relevant content
(Content Validity) (3).
Additionally, constructs are mini theories used to assist in developing a new or better instrument in
order to explain a broader range of findings or make more accurate predictions about a person s
behavior. Hence, when no other measures exist, the epidemiologist can link an attribute measured to
another attribute by a hypothesis or construct and test the instrument by applying it to a sample to
determine if the expected relationship is obtained; this is regarded as construct validity. For example;
if a test for blood sugar was devised because there is no other test

Speed Control of SE.D.C Motor using IMC (Simulation done on LabVIEW) Salim
salimnitk@gmail.com Abstract: SEDC motors are used extensively in industrial variable speed
applications because of most demanding speed torque characteristics and are simple in controlling
aspects. This paper presents an implementation of internal model control (IMC) for speed control of
separately excited SEDC motor based on LabVIEW. A mathematical model of the process has been
developed using real plant data and then conventional controller has been designed. A comparative
analysis of performance evaluation of controller has been done. Key Words: SEDC Motor, IMC,
LabVIEW. 1 Introduction DC motors are widely used in industrial applications, robot manipulators
and home appliances, because of their high reliability, flexibility and low cost, where speed and
position control of motor are required. This paper deals with the performance evaluation of internal
model control method with a clear objective to control the speed of separately excited DC motor. In
this paper, Speed of a SEDC motor is controlled using IMC. Separately excited DC motors are highly
versatile and flexible in aspects of speed control. The basic property of separately excited DC motor is
that speed of separately excited DC motor can be adjusted by varying its terminal voltage. Therefore,

Google must plan accordingly to be successful in the search engine market. Organizing can be very
challenging to new companies. Google has grown and would not function correctly without
organization. Google will strive to make improvements wherever it can but will not change things
working effortlessly. Once organized, managers should direct employees on the goals of the company.
Managers should oversee the staff to ensure procedures and processes are adhered to and to look for
those directives not working. Controlling is the last function of management. Controlling involves
establishing performance standards and evaluates employees. A manager should not reduce the
standards to solve an individual performance problem. Technology can affect this function and should
be used to help the process. Managers may have the employees conduct their evaluation within the
company intranet. This reduces the workload and is good for the environment.
Furthermore, Google is a company that highlights and is proud of its diversity both internally and
externally from creating groups for employees to celebrate their differences to honoring cultural and

Taking a Look at Cystic Fibrosis
There are many diseases that greatly affect our respiratory physiology; one of those diseases is cystic
fibrosis. Cystic fibrosis, according to the National Institute of Health (2013), is an inherited disease of
the secretory glands or exocrine glands. Not only does this disease affect our respiratory system, it
takes a toll on our digestive system. The respiratory system includes the gas exchange from our
external atmosphere and our internal environment. This gas exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide
through our atmosphere and lungs does play a roll with cystic fibrosis. Cystic fibrosis is inherited, it
affects many parts of the body mainly the respiratory system, and there are many signs and symptoms
to this overwhelming disease.
The respiratory system is the body s source for breathing. Without our respiratory system, gas
exchange would not be able to occur. Inhaling oxygen and exhaling carbon dioxide.
In our respiratory system our upper airways and bronchi can be said to warming, humidifying, and
filtering inspired air. By warming the air inhaled it will not cause damage to our internal environment
which is body temperature, with warming the air that is inhaled cold air will reach that body
temperature, humidifying our body through inhalation of oxygen, our epithelial cells remain moist and
do not dry out (Silverthorn, 2013), and finally the mucus that is in our pharynx come upon many
inhaled microorganisms and/or other pathogens. As Silverthorn (2013) states, mucus

Learning And Leading With Habits Of Mind
In a state of dilemma, individuals find it interesting when people confronted with life s problems. The
way people behave when the answers to which are not immediately known. Different situation, people
have to think of different technique to solve the problems. Analyzing a poem is different from
analyzing statistical data. Both are related to analyzing but the mind has to be aware of each situation
to apply in any cases. Learning and Leading with Habits of Mind talks about sixteen ways people use
when it comes to describing the Habits of Mind. Curiosity is what motivates deep thinking when
questioning and posing problems habit. The bravery to take responsible risks habit and listening with
understand and empathy habit when hearing stories from others. For me, one of the most important
habit that I have learned the most is responsible risks. Being greedy and wanted to be success in two
categories is not going to work, I have to decide on letting go of one and remain focus on the one that
I am planning to take the risk on.
I have lived with my mom since I was born and until I grow up. A period of time that mom has given
me the love and I have always promised that I will never leave the warmth of this love. I still
remember the day I was twelve, my Dad has come back from the United States and offered me a cruel
but also full of opportunities question. The question has been in my head and I was debating with

Sister Carrie and the American Dream
The American Dream is surely based on the concept of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness but
it is above all, a matter of ambition. James Truslow Adams, an American writer and historian, in 1931
states: life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to
ability or achievement , which not only points towards a better standard of living for Americans but
also denounces a degree of greed in the US society. Ambition not only killed the cat but killed
relationships as well in texts like Sister Carrie and Death of a Salesman. While the American Dream
was supposed to be a collective success at its initial stage, ambition, along with a pinch of greed and
materialism were perfect ingredients ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When I walked out I was twenty one. And, by God, I was rich!
Through Ben, Miller s play suggests that one must be ruthless, sometimes even wild, in order to
achieve success. This very dynamic approach towards the American Dream is what makes Willy
Loman envious of his brother s success and machismo. The contrast between a passive approach and
dynamic ambition towards the realization of the American Dream is the cause of rift in a brother
relationship between Willy and Ben. Another instance of rift in relationships in regards to ambition
and the American Dream can be found in the father son relationship between Willy and his son Biff.
Willy always believed that personality, not hard work or innovation, was the key to success. His
personal views even justified adultery. This is where conflicts arose; Biff was against this trait of his
father s personality. It is only after learning about Willy s infidelity that Biff decides to pursue his own
American Dream. However, he is torn between two American Dreams: becoming a salesman like his
father or immersing himself in nature. Different ambitions and perceptions of the American Dream
eventually led to Biff being convinced that his father had the wrong dream. At this point, the arising
question is: is ambition contributing towards the realization of an American

South Suu Kyi s Freedom From Fear Speech
Freedom, democracy and human rights were the ideals that Burma is lacking under the reign of the
military junta led by Ne Win and his Socialist Party for fifty years. The socialist ideals have only
brought fear and poverty to the people of Burma and the protests against the military government were
always brutally suppressed. Aung San Suu Kyi, daughter of the national hero, General Aung San who
was assassinated by his rival after he fought for Burmese independence from England, was filled with
the ideals that her father fought for and became a leader for the people to unite them and challenge the
right to rule of the people in power. In Aung San Suu Kyi s Freedom From Fear speech, she argued
that the fear of losing power is the real ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The speech reflected Suu Kyi s vision of Burma as a peaceful country and her courage which she did
use it in her favor to rouse the people who have long waited for a change. The purpose of the speech
was to made the people see a future Burma with a democratically elected government that respects
human rights and to take effective actions against the government through non violent confrontations.
In Freedom from Fear speech, Suu Kyi begins by speaking the truth of how fear corrupts all those
wielding power and those that are being controlled. As Burma is under the oppressive regime, she
claimed that people may not be able to fight back with arms, but what they can do is to get rid of fear
from their minds, and embrace courage to bear a real revolution which can only be succeeded if it is
born of conviction that a change is desperately needed. Truth, justice and compassion are the only
barriers that can stand up against the government as a government that is established with force and
concern with only short term profits can never give the country the whole democracy and human
rights. Freedom from fear is the utmost importance in politics and personal life as it is the start of a
system that can help realize the declaration of human rights and democracy. According to Suu Kyi, As
long as there are governments whose authority is founded on coercion rather than on the mandate of
the people and interest groups which place

Textual Analysis Psychology
Scott and Craig lees (2010) organized an experiment that analyzed if product placement, inclusion of
branded products that appear through audio or visual means, influenced audience engagement through
levels of pleasure, arousal, and cognitive effort. The researchers focused on specific variables that may
influence the effects product placement has on their audience. For example, engagement (attention),
involvement( interest ), connectedness ( to the program), engrossment( absorption of media) ,
immersion (psychological state), and transportation (losing real world facets while viewing).
However, the researchers are primarily focusing on engagement. They hypothesis that implicit

All in all, the researchers predicted that there is a positive relationship between pleasure and brand
recognition. The researchers conducted a quasi experimental approach, which means the researchers
do not have full control over the experimental stimuli, which is a good approach when analyzing
behaviors. They tracked the correlation between engagement and memory after showing the product
placement. Their participants were 166 high school students in Sydney, Australia, ages 14 16 who
were heavy movie watchers. They showed the participants the movie Legally Blonde, which had
twenty two product placements within the movie followed by a post questionnaire. The questions
simply asked if they noticed any of the products in the movie with yes/ no/not sure as the options for
them to answer. For their engagement test, they utilized Mehrabian and Russell s pleasure, arousal,
dominance scale, which measured pleasantness versus unpleasantness and positive versus negative
feelings. Their results concluded that pleasure has a significant, positive relationship with brand
recognition. The analysis indicates that when all levels of engagement are present, which includes
pleasure, arousal, and cognitive effort, brand recognitions reaches the highest

  • 3. Aeneas Definition Of Justice Essay Plato, in the Republic, seeks to define justice while showing how justice is worthwhile and good in itself. To him, justice is mainly centered around the idea of fulfilling appropriate roles. He describes what justice is like in both the city and the individual, and appeals to human psychology through this analogy. In Book IV, Plato completes this analogy by introducing justice within the individual. He claims that justice in the city parallels justice in the individual. Justice for the individual, according to Plato, is about the fulfillment of appropriate roles and the relationships among them. The question is if Aeneas lived a justly life or was he unjust. The focus I will have will be how Aeneas was considered just off the battlefield by not being distracted and progressing his people into the golden era . ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Book I it says, So, ran the speech. Burdened and sick at heart, He feigned hope in his look, and inwardly contained his anguish. (Aeneid I). This quote showed that even though Aeneas was saddened by the falling of his people that he had to hold it in and keep strong to continue to guide and comfort his people in this time of disbelief and discomfort. There is clear evidence that Aeneas was just in his actions but there are reasons that he could be considered unjust but the evidence is substantially weaker in comparison to him being ... • 4. An Argument Against Auteur Theory. Auteurism: A Disease of Greatness. The term Auteur seems to bless a privileged group of filmmakers with an almost messiah like legacy. Men such as Alfred Hitchcock, John Ford and Fritz Lange are believed to inhabit the ranks of the cinematic elite, and not surprisingly most critics are more than willing to bestow upon them the title of Auteur. By regarding filmmaking as yet another form of art, Auteur theory stipulates that a film is the direct result of its director s genius. With the emerging prominence of auteur based criticism in the 1950?s, the role of the director became increasingly integral to a film s success. However most would argue that this form of criticism didn t reach its apex until 1960s, when Andrew Sarris released his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He merely didn t adhere to a set of criteria which could safely classify his work as art . When asked why he was not respected by American critics, as he is in Europe, Corman responded, Ordinarly there is a great deal of snobbery from American film critics, they will accept a film by Stanley Kramer as a work of art before they see it, or a film from a European director...but they unloose their ire against low or medium budget Hollywood productions 3 Considered one of the greatest of all American directors, John Ford would no doubt be regarded an auteur by those who choose to utilize the phrase. One can imagine Ford carefully weaving beautiful images of monument valley, to fulfill his artistic allegories, or demanding the most effective of performances from a cast who manage to convey the emotions which stir inside this most American of auteurs. Just as Corman seems to put a great deal of philosophical thought into crafting what many consider to be simple films, Ford seems to suggest that his cinematic choices are often over analyzed. In an interview with fellow western film director Burt Kennedy, Ford was asked about some of these choices, which have come to define much of his style, and his answers are surprisingly simplistic. When questioned about his connection to Monument Valley, and the reasoning behind choosing that location, Ford responded I knew ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Stop And Frisk Report Introduction In the 1990s, the growth of violent crime reached its all time high in New York City. In response to the number of high murder rates in the 1990s, the New York City Police Department realized that whatever they are doing to reduce violent crime was not working. The local news reported that New Yorkers were afraid to wear their jewelry in public. Some reported they had to sprint to the subway exit to avoid victimization when the door opened. The New York City Police Department decided to implement a practice of Stop, Question, and Frisk. This practice became to known as Stop and Frisk (Bellin, 2014). First, the reduction of violent crime has not provided correlation with the number of stops made. Secondly, one of the purposes articulated was to reduce gun use, a data from 2008 to 2011 shows 27% increase in stop and frisks and shootings had not gone down, the number of shooting actually rose. Third, the stop and frisk policy was just another form of crime fighting tool implemented by the NYPD and it is difficult to isolate the effectiveness of this policy. In other words, there was no benefit of this policy. However, it cost community policing relations with minority to diminish due to how law enforcement treated minorities during the implementation of stop and frisk. There are specific recommendations that can be set forth to improve the stop and frisk. The first recommendation involved (1) improving training of NYPDs officers as to the laws governing the policy to ensure that the officers are in accordance with the law; (2) changing the current incentives from measuring the number of stops to considering the results of the stops; (3) considering pilot program testing to use audio or visual recording stop and frisks; and (4) establishing an oversight monitor to ensure the implementation of the ... • 6. The War Of The Union And Confederate Side During The Civil... One of the few newspapers to act like Switzerland received a huge amount of backlash for doing so. The Republican paper did not succumb to the Union or confederate side and instead advocated for both sides, since the two editors of the paper had different views, but the public was not pleased with this decision. The general public deemed it weakness and a sign of duplicity to publish articles advocating both sides of the issue and dubbed the paper the swill tub (Sachsman, 2014, p. 53). A Virginia paper tried this tactic as well, to no avail. The attempt, however, on the part of any opposition paper to be simultaneously a Union journal and a Southern journal was becoming illogical if not well neigh impossible (Cappon, 1936, p.14). This explains why the majority took a side during the civil war, as no newspaper wanted to loose the core of their audience due to not taking sides. It is important to note that not all of the papers in this era were propagandist. The Enquirer was able to omit their opinions and write objectively about the war. Wise and his successors objectively reported the news rather than venting their dissatisfaction with Confederate s conduct of the war (Davis Robertson, 2009, p. 37). McCloskey delves into both the Cosmological and Teleological arguments, which within he criticizes the arguments and to further his argument against theism, he also presents the Problem of Evil and why evil cannot possibly exist with a perfect God being the creator of universe. According to the article, McCloskey assumes that the argument calls for an uncaused cause to start an infinite number of contingent beings. McCloskey believes that each contingent being simply exists with an infinite number of causes that eventually lead back to a case of chance. In Philosophy of Religion by Stephen Evans, Evans refers to this way of thinking as a brute fact. According to Evans, by claiming this stance would turn the partial argument into a whole argument and concurrently, this will require the defender of the argument to claim that the contingency of the whole of the universe can validly be inferred from the contingency of all its parts. Where McCloskey s ignorance further takes a violent curve against acquiring knowledge about the beginning of the universe connects to his argument is when he said This means that the first cause must be explained as being a necessarily existing being, one who cannot exist. What he is alluding to, and is also the focal point of his disapproval of theism, is that humans do not have the right to claim that a being created the universe. The culture revealed in this era was a time of rapid change, social inequality, industrialization, supernatural and religious beliefs, and was accurately reflected in the works of Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol. Roles of men and women were strictly defined, as were economic statuses. The hustle and bustle of the streets led to illnesses. Working conditions were destitute and unsanitary. Regarding the religious beliefs in the Victorian Period, Victorians were primarily characterized by Christianity. The term Victorian is familiar with social decorums that encompass strong religious customs(Coleman). There is no mechanism set up for addressing the debt crisis problem tracked back to the time point when the euro was established, and thus resulted in the hastily drawn and agreed emergency rescue plans, which were viewed unfavourable to the majority of EU countries as they seemed merely synonymous with those bailouts. I wonder if our heightened emotions have mistakenly led us to believe things were much more straightforward then they are. We feel so passionately about so much. Who see the humanity in those who take the same positions we do, and in those who are bitterly opposed. Who believe to simplify the cause is to undermine the cause. And that to reduce the issues to the lowest common denominator is to reduce the personhood of those who don t agree with us. We are the new revolutionaries who know that nothing is as simple as it appears, that things are more murky than maybe either side feels comfortable admitting, and that the act of not belonging anywhere is in and of itself belonging and taking a stand somewhere. This too takes courage, self reflection, and conviction. We are not copping out, selling out, or flaking out. We are leaning in, we are tuning in, and we are giving in to something larger than our need to feel comfortable. We are learning to live in the in between. So. Is anyone with

Generational Differences Of Generation X And Post-Millennials Generational Differences of Generation X and Post Millennials When observing the core ideologies of a group, the various circumstances to which the said group was exposed profoundly impacts their beliefs, in turn developing the methods through which their ideologies arise in society. Pertaining to the values of given generations, the stark contrast existing between the application of their values often compromises the structure of society as a whole as the conflicts arising between the said groups exacerbates societal similarities between generations. With the disparity existing between the lives of those from Generation X and Post Millennials and consequently their values, the cumulated ideology of society, existing from a combination of both groups values, has challenged the well being of the state of health and in turn, initiated the deterioration of genuine interaction and integrity. Considering those associated with Generation X, their core values, grounded in independence coupled with stability, allowed society to develop a structure through which individuals could function. Prior to beginning to perceive the values of the generation themselves, one must first observe their manifestation given the context of the time period. In observing the socioeconomic situation of the time, an era of two income families, rising divorce rates, and a faltering economy (Kane), one notices the breeding ground for their individualistic ideals and consequently their core ideologies grounded in tangible success rather than true fulfillment. The necessity to adapt to the home situation often containing two working parents, often divorced, inevitably allowed those in Generation X to develop a sense of independence a more importantly, perceive the need for it, from a young age. Given this sense of stoicism that was allowed to develop through this, one can see the generation s almost impervious nature to the psychological implications of social jealousy. The War of 1812 was a military conflict between the United States and Great Britain. The war lasted from 1812 to 1814. The War started when the colony of Great Britain and Canada, was invaded by the Americans. The war was fought in Upper Canada, Lower Canada, on the Great Lakes, the Atlantic, and in the United States. The War of 1812 was a big dispute between the United States and the British Empire. The British limited the American trade system because they were afraid it would be damaging to their war with France. They also wanted to arrange for an Indian state in the Midwest. They wanted to do this to maintain their influence in the region. That s why 10,000 Native Americans fought for the British in the war of 1812. Because Canada was a British colony at this time, Canadians were considered as British allies. Americans just wanted to prove their independence from the British Empire once and for all. As you can see there were multiple causes of the War of 1812. One main cause was because Great Britain had full power over most of Canada and Americans wanted them to leave so they could expand the United States. Another cause would be because the trade ban by Britain and France proceeded in the capturing of American ships. Validity tests involve ensuring that the instrument is measuring what the epidemiologist intended (4), validity has several components including content and construct validity. Validity of the measure at minimum can be assessed subjectively by expert opinion of one or more experts in the field of study, where experts review the measure to determine if the instrument appears to be assessing the desired qualities (Face Validity) or determining whether the instrument samples all the relevant content (Content Validity) (3). Additionally, constructs are mini theories used to assist in developing a new or better instrument in order to explain a broader range of findings or make more accurate predictions about a person s behavior. Hence, when no other measures exist, the epidemiologist can link an attribute measured to another attribute by a hypothesis or construct and test the instrument by applying it to a sample to determine if the expected relationship is obtained; this is regarded as construct validity.
