The Magic Of The Surreal Dubai
The magic of the surreal Dubai
Dubai is a giant Disneyland, where everything is based on the law of supply and demand, and life is
artificial; the main destination on Tourists map and one of the main cities of the United Arab Emirates,
most of the time, wrongly assumed as a capital of the country. Dubai attracts with inadequate amount
of entertainments, and ability to earn and live a better life. In the past four decades the United Arab
Emirates developed with the speed that takes other countries centuries.
Although proud Arab people trying not to think about past, when the British assumed all responsibility
for arbitrating in any disputes between the Sheikhs of the area , and the area was kind of colonized
under British Empire. Emiratis admire western expatriates and this is no secret that with the support of
the British (or American) citizenship the attitude is changing to better, and salary higher than that of
other foreigners
Until now, this approach has justified itself: in just 43 years of existence of the United Arab Emirates
have become the country with a developed economy and infrastructure. And the Dubai from small
villages, hunted pearling and fish became a city fairy tale, the richness of which legends.
Legends of the lot. It should be noted that many of them have been confirmed in reality. But, believe
me, they were all carefully thought out and planned by marketers, Dubai is considered primarily as a
brand, the value of which increases with increasing

Analysis Of The Prophet Of Yonwood
The Prophet of Yonwood is a fictional book that was written by Jeanne DuPrau. This realistic fiction
book was published May 2007 by Yearling, an imprint of Random House Children s Books. With 289
pages, this book is about the struggles people are facing in a little town when it seems war may come
at any moment. The Prophet of Yonwood is the third book in the City of Ember Series. One interesting
fact about the book is that most of the story takes place in an old mansion that two of the main
characters live in. Jeanne DuPrau said she has always wanted to live in a huge, mysterious old house...
. So she put it as the setting of her book. As The Prophet of Yonwood begins, it focuses on a prophet
by the name of Althea Tower. She sets up ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another antagonist in this book would probably be part of the setting. The country is on the verge of
war and this causes the citizens of Yonwood to be more scared than usual. More persuasive to any
ideas.
Some of the other characters are Grover Persons, Nickie s ant Crystal, her mom and dad, Amanda, and
Martin. Grover and Martin are boys that Nickie met at different times while she was exploring
Yonwood. At one point, Grover hints that he used to be good friends with Martin. Crystal is usually
never around. She is always off trying to organize things so the house will be ready for auction as soon
as possible. Nickie s mom and dad aren t actually in the story. They send letters back and forth. Her
mom is living at home and dad is off involved with the war somewhere. No one knows where it
actually is he keeps sending weird postcards to his wife and daughter.
Nickie has decided to go with her aunt Crystal to Yonwood, North Carolina, where Nickie s great
Grandfathers has just past away. They are trying to sell his old house called Green Haven. In Yonwood
a woman by the name of Althea Tower has just had a horrible vision of what is believed to be the
future and Mrs. Beeson is the only person who can figure out what it means along with the other
things that Althea mumbles. Nickie sets out to achieve personal goals and ends up confusing what is
right versus what is wrong. Although this fictional book does not have a

School uniform persuasive essay
School Uniforms: Agree or not?
Uniforms are globally used at schools around the world, especially schools in Asia. In Asia, the policy
of wearing uniform enforces strongly during school hours and whenever at schools. The policy is
enforced because schools want to teach discipline to their students and prevent unanticipated troubles
at school. The policy of school uniforms is not completely implemented in the United States,
especially public schools. According to the US Department of Education, only about 23 percent
private and public schools in the United States have a uniform policy (School Uniform Statistics 1). In
Asia, almost all of public and private schools strictly enforce the policy. In my country, Indonesia, all

Those punishments make Kaylee know what it felt, and apologized for what she had done before. Ally
is a responsible mother because she took punishments to tell her children about insulting, and prevent
bullying at school.
Enforcing the policy of school uniforms is a controversial debate between people. Some parents
disagree because school uniforms are costly for some people. They think that they have to buy two
types of outfits, school uniforms and daily outfits. One parent Josias Jere said uniforms were too
expensive for an average parent who had many children to look after and send to school (Sikapizye 1).
The United States is a country that honors the freedom of speech. Some parents think that their
children s freedom of speech will be constrained by the policy of wearing school uniforms. Many
students who are against school uniforms argue that they lose their self identity when they lose their
right to express themselves through fashion (Kouzmie 1). Students also think that school uniforms will
limit their expression and creativity.
Wearing school uniforms to school is more economical than you have to buy outfits to school. In a
week, students need 5 different outfits to go to school because they usually do not want to use same
outfits in a week. If students use school uniforms, they will only need 2 or 3 uniforms a week because
they do not have to use

Indirect Murder Cases
While many thousands of murder cases go unsolved every year, it is a probable assumption that the
general public would most likely only be able to name all they knew on one hand. In no particular
order, the top three reoccurring would most likely be: the 1994 murder of Nicole Brown Simpson and
Ron Goldman (estranged ex husband Orenthal James Simpson), the 2008 murder of Caylee Anthony
(mother Casey Anthony), and the 1996 murder of JonBenet Ramsey (Patsy, John, and Burke Ramsey).
As all of these are high profile cold cases, all of them have thoroughly investigated not only by local
investigators but also through the public eye, yet no charges have been filed against any party. Two of
the three cases show blatant similarities one is that two of the three happened within the first six years
of life (Caylee Anthony and JonBenet Ramsey), and in these cases the mothers were investigated more
than any other possible suspect. One man has reviewed these previous cases in addition to multiple
others, Stephen Diamond, who is a clinical and forensic psychologist in Los Angeles is further
reviewing the JonBenet murder from the stance of a psychologist, just after the case has been cold for
twenty years. Diamond is not writing this article to solve the crime, or even attempt to, but to offer a
forensic psychologist s viewpoint. The main ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

be done is the analyzation of the family involved. Multiple aspects of JonBenet s murder are

occurred. Like a true professional, Diamond does not show any evidence of bias, and only is basing
his analysis on the facts of the investigation, not on the assumptions from the

Motivation In Beowulf Essay
Beowulf s Motives
(A Discussion on Beowulf s Motivation to Kill the Three Monsters)
The story of Beowulf, as many call it was originally an epic poem. This poem is known worldwide
and with reason. Being presented for the first time, sometime before 1000 BC. Its also known as the
most important Greek poem ever. Alongside the well known Iliad. Both are known as epic poems
which are passed down orally but are considered long narratives. Beowulf is the earliest of any epic
poem of that time period. Beowulf being the main character, travels from his home land to a foreign
country, where they have been ravaged by a monster named grendel. Which leads to another monster
which is Grendel s mother. The poem ends with Beowulf killing his last monster, a dragon. But the
reader is met with the question why did he do all of this? Beowulf s motivations in the epic poem
Beowulf are presented as his duty to do so, for the fame and glory, and to sacrifice himself for the
betterment of others.
In the epic poem Beowulf, Beowulf s first motivation, that the reader is presented, is his anglo saxon
sense of duty. The anglo saxon code is a very large factor in this epic poem as it is what Beowulf lives
his life after. But Beowulf s sense of duty calls him to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Analysis Of Richard Rodriguez s A Stranger And Strange...
Comparative Analysis
Over the past month, we have been studying the concept of reading and writing in different
communities. To assess this, we have read two different texts. Richard Rodriguez s the achievement of
desire , from his autobiography Hunger of Memory ; and Lucille McCarthy s A Stranger in Strange
Lands: A College Student Writing across the Curriculum from Research in the Teaching of English .
Both answer key questions regarding what it takes to become a great reader and writer, however, from
the reading that I have done, each one only answers one part of the question. Rodriguez s main focus
is in the aspect of reading, whereas McCarthy mainly focuses on the writing portion. Both do a decent
job of analyzing and putting forth a view of how they believe a person can best perform in these
environments. This then allows us to use their concepts and create our own version, based on their
points of view. But why should we care? Most people at this level of academia will have developed a
system of writing that works for them, and will have a difficult time breaking from it if they re process
doesn t meet the criteria that Rodriguez, and McCarthy put forth. The reason it s so important is
because of implications these ideas have. Both authors put forth concepts that are indirectly related to
one another and that are highly beneficial to all who will apply them. They will force you to conform
to new environments in order to succeed, this in turn will make you more

One important public figure in the 1990s was Hillary Rodham Clinton. Hillary Clinton is a politician.
She is most well known for being the First Lady of the United States and Bill Clinton s wife. While

India, and all over Europe p rallied against capitalism. At these events, people asked for a peaceful
change from capitalism to communism. Even though these places stayed capitalist, many people still
believe that there should be governments using the communist ways. Although these protests didn t
reach their goal, the debate is still fought over(Patricia Levy). In the 1990 s, an invention was created
that is now used in everyday life, The World Wide Web also known as the WWW. In the year of 1990,

The Relation Between Genetics And Physiology And Medicine
Thomas H. Morgan: The relation of genetics to physiology and medicine.
Genetics is the study of how hereditary characteristics or genes are inherited. The studies of genetics
have first been recognized by Gregor Mendel. Gregor Mendel studied how traits were passed down
from parent to offspring using pea plants. It was later discovered that Mendel s law of inheritance not
only worked for pea plants but also on, animals and humans. Mendel s experiments gave rise to the
importance of chromosomes in genetic experiments, crossing over, and linkage. Thomas H. Morgan
experimented on Drosophila melanogaster, fruit flies to give further analysis of Mendel s two laws of
inheritance. Morgan s work have been recognized for discovery of sex linked genes and the
importance of understanding genes for medical practice, in which he discusses in his Nobel Prize
lecture; The relation of genetics to physiology and medicine.
To first understand sex linked inheritance we must understand Gregor Mendel s two laws of
inheritance. Mendel s first law of inheritance or Law of Segregation, describes how each allele in a
pair separates and forms into different gamete or sex cells, during the uniting of these sex cells (the
sperm and the egg). The second law of inheritance or Law of independent assortment states that, a pair
of alleles segregate or separate independently from the other allele in the union of the sex cells. An
addition was added to Mendel s two inheritance laws. These

The Power Of Eating Healthy
The Power of Eating Healthy What would this world do today without fast food? Why is it cheaper to
eat unhealthy than it is to eat healthy? There are all these questions that we have about fast food but if
people realized what actually in these foods I don t think we would be wanting to keep putting them in
their body. This generation thinks they know everything so if you try telling them what s good and bad
there still going to say I don t care and keep eating it so it s hard to really help people anymore. So
what I am trying to get to is that why put unhealthy stuff in your body when you can be healthy and
put good in your body. Our body needs good healthy fresh grown organic stuff in our body. Instead we
keep putting all this processed food instead. I am telling this because I have had my own personal
experience with eating healthy and working out. I used to be 220 at the beginning of the year around

Advertising and Behavior Control Essay
In the article Advertising and Behavior Control there were many arguments for and against
advertising. The first and the biggest problem Robert L. Arrington has against advertising is puffery.
The reason/reasons why Arrington has a problem with puffery is due to the fact that the seller makes
exaggerated, or suggestive claims about a product. His overall argument on puffery is that it isn t just
bragging but it is bragging that is designed to persuade you to want the item or product being sold.
The bragging goes so far as they convince the viewer (of the advertisement) they need the product.
Puffery ultimately leads to manipulation, exploitation, and control over what people think of the
product. Although Arrington has reasons ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These are just a couple of the arguments for and against advertising, and Arrington continues with
many more thought provoking and legitimate arguments. All in all, Arrington makes claims for and
against advertising, and eventually comes to the conclusion that he does not know what is right. If
advertising is indeed good or bad as he says on page 289 I do not pretend to have the answer. I only
hope that the above discussion, in showing some of the kinds of harm that can be done by advertising
and by indicating the likely limits of this harm, will put us in a better position to grapple with the
question. In my own opinion I don t think that advertising should be controlled anymore than it is
now. My reason for thinking this way is because products are made to be sold and along with that
products are also made

Analysis Of Leslie Bricusse s Feeling Good
An anthem of triumph, Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse s Feeling Good, has traversed the
generations with its inspirational and timeless lyrics. Since its debut in the 1960s musical The Roar of
the Greasepaint The Smell of the Crowd, the song Feeling Good has been covered by dozens of
notable artists. Among them are Nina Simone and Avicii featuring the vocals of Audra Mae. The song
originates from a scene in the musical sung by the character The Negro after he wins the game [of life]
in spite of the abuse and racism he experiences at the hands of the musical s main characters. In the
same year of its Broadway premiere, Nina Simone recorded her own version of the song for her album

Like Grant, Simone uses vibrato throughout the song. However, while Grant has a steadily low pitch,
Simone has an almost magical voice that manages to flawlessly fluctuate between both high and low
pitches throughout the song. It is this technique that gives the song a strong emotional texture. Where
Grant s voice sounded desperately triumphant over hardships, Simone s sounds eagerly hopeful for a
bright new future. Simone makes the song her own even more with her dynamic techniques. Unlike
Grant who built up a crescendo throughout the song, Simone keeps a relatively steady volume until
the climax when she concludes the song powerfully loud. Another way that Grant and Simone s
versions differ is the way the timbre is altered by their accompaniments. Simone has a typical jazz
band accompanying her that is very heavy in the brass department with its trumpet, trombone, and
tuba. It also is heavy with piano and a little bit of drums that all come together to create a bright and
energetic tone that helps one feel empowered just by hearing the song.
In one of the song s more recent covers, American singer Audra Mae has a steadily high pitch in
contrast to Grant s bass range and Simone s both low and high range vocals. Nevertheless, Audra Mae
s wavering voice pays a beautiful homage to both Grant and Simone s versions of the song. However,
it s the techno accompaniment performed by Swedish DJ Avicii that truly gives the song

Homage to Catalonia
George Orwell Homage To Catalonia Published by Harvest books (New York) in June 1969,264 pgs
Book Review of Homage to Catalonia George Orwell, noted writer and journalist, arrived in
Barcelona, Spain in late 1936 to cover the fight against fascism. Being an avid fan of socialism, he
was amazed to see the small glimpse of socialism in action. He was intrigued to say the least, of the
classless society he observed there. Barcelona, Spain at this time was held under Anarchist control,
and as such most of the old class society rituals were abandoned: tipping, titles, and the old divisions
between rich and poor were practically gone. Everyone was equal in this new society, and most of the
rich aristocrats had either fled or went into ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Later after 115 days on the frontlines, Orwell receives a leave to return to Barcelona. Upon arriving in
Barcelona he is struck by the changes that have occurred. On the streets he once again heard titles of
servile nature being spewed from one persons mouth to another, the rich and poor clearly reappearing,
and the resemblance of a class society slowly drifting back into view. Later he describes his sadness
after getting dragged into street fighting caused by infighting between the communists and various
anarchist factions, mostly caused by communistic led police trying to seize a telephone exchange held
by anarchists in Barcelona. Finally after escaping the street fighting, he returns to the front for a short
time until being shot through the throat by enemy sniper fire, which lands him in various hospitals
until he is finally declared medically unfit to fight. After being declared unfit to fight, Orwell s real
problems begin. Returning to Barcelona to get his military discharge papers stamped, he finds that his
ignorance of joining the first anti fascist militia he came across begins to haunt him. In Barcelona, his
former unit the P.O.U.M has been fully suppressed and has sadly become the political scapegoat of
Communist propaganda and all former P.O.U.M members were being rounded up and arrested. He
laments at the sights of how his former comrades were being treated, but has no time to do much for
them, because he is on the run as well. Finally

Gospel Of Luke Analysis
The Gospel of Luke was written by a Greek speaking Christian. It was not written to replace the
Gospel of Mark, but as a new account written for an audience under different circumstances than
Mark s community. The church was becoming more Gentiles than Jews. Most people in Luke s
community were not familiar with the Jewish traditions that were referred to by many preachers.
Many members of the community were well off as well. This community struggled to follow a church
that had a Hebrew core. These issues are what influenced Luke s writing. Luke wanted his community
to know that they were all included in God s plan for salvation even though in history the Jews would
have been the first to know. A few of the major themes of Luke s Gospel were: salvation for all, mercy
and forgiveness, and modern ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the early Christian community, this story was seen as a call to faith in Jesus who is present in the
church during stormy times (Kodell 953). This interpretation is still incredibly relevant for Christians
today. This passage shows Christians that Jesus is there for you through everything. Even in tough
times, Jesus is there. The storm in the passage is symbolic for stormy times in life. Jesus calming the
storm is representative of the support that God can provide for you during tough times. No matter
what the situation, God will be there for you.
The Calming of a Storm at Sea shows Luke s community the power of Jesus. It shows that Jesus is
there for you when you need him. The passage shows that even when you lack faith, like the disciples
did, God will still be there for you. In this story, Jesus takes a situation where the disciples are in
danger and calms it to where they are safe. This is representative of the fact that when you are in
danger, you can turn to Jesus and he will save you. The passage clearly shows God s saving power and

Pain And Neuropathic Pain
There are many types of pain and their causes depend on where they originate and what areas they
affect. Neuropathic pain originates from the nerves or the nervous system in general. The signs that
you have this kind of pain are burning and tingling. Physicians believe that conditions such as diabetes
can trigger the pain. Other conditions such as shingles and carpal tunnel syndrome may also affect the
nerves and cause pain to the patient.
Visceral pain happens only once in a while. It does not really last for a long time. however, it can be
very painful. It happens when the organs of your body are irritated. One good example of this is the
menstrual cramps that some women experience when they have their period. The pain can also be

This means that you can simply manage your body to stop hurting. This type of pain management
suggests that a person can psychologically manage the pain and divert it away from the area in
question.
If the pain that you are experiencing is chronic, then you may want to consider the use of acupuncture
for your pain management. This is one of the better management techniques that a person can use in
making sure that they are pain free. There are all sorts of myths about acupuncture, but the technique
works wonders in the management of a person s pain.
Some pain management requires a person to go through a program to learn how to manage their pain
effectively. These programs often times involve a few classes that are spread out over the course of
several weeks. These are generally focused on natural methods of pain management that do not
require medication or any other foreign substances entering the body.

In a recent bulletin the Securities Exchange Commission (S.E.C.) noted that, while investment fees
may seem inconsequential at first, over time they can have a very profound impact on investment
returns. To illustrate, the S. E. C. considered the impact of fees in a simple situation: a 1% annual fee
on a $100,000 portfolio that grew 4% annually over 20 years. The S. E. C. claimed that this
investment would grow to about $180,000 over 20 years, whereas without fees it would have grown to
about $220,000. Use Excel to answer the following:

The Pros And Cons Of Airport Searches
Airport searches are necessary if passengers are choosing to travel via airplane. Passengers are
wondering if these searches violate the Fourth Amendment. Passengers remove their personal
belongings such as shoes and their carry on bags. These are sent through an x ray while the passenger
walks through a metal detector. If the passenger does not set off the alarm, there is no need to undergo
further screening, however, if they set off the alarm, further screening is necessary. There are not many
journal articles discussing cell phone searches at airports, but there are journal articles discussing cell
phone searches at the border. According to Simbro, The Fourth Amendment provides that the right of
the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and

Symptoms And Symptoms Of A Mental Disorder
A mental disorder is a diagnosis of a behavioral or mental pattern that can cause suffering or a poor
ability to function in ordinary life. Such features may be persistent, relapsing and remitting, or occur
as a single episode. Many disorders have been described, with signs and symptoms that vary widely
between specific disorders.
The causes of mental disorders are often unclear. Theories may incorporate findings from a range of
fields. Mental disorders are usually defined by a combination of how a person behaves, feels,
perceives or thinks.
Services are based in psychiatric hospitals or in the community, and assessments are carried out by
psychiatrists, clinical psychologists and clinical social workers, using various methods but often ...

DSM IV precedes the definition with caveats, stating that, as in the case with many medical terms,
mental disorder lacks a consistent operational definition that covers all situations , noting that different
levels of abstraction can be used for medical definitions, including pathology, symptomology,
deviance from a normal range, or etiology, and that the same is true for mental disorders, so that
sometimes one type of definition is appropriate, and sometimes another, depending on the situation.

How Youth Workers Can Help With The Issue Of Young Offenders
This essay will examine how youth workers can help with the issue of young offenders, with the use
of relevant policies along with historical and current context to show how. It will also point out key
policies and legislative frameworks linked to young offenders and how these policies promote social
justice and equality.
The term young offender refers to a person (male or female between the ages of 10 17) who has been
convicted of or cautioned about a criminal offence. The term young offender is often used because the
criminal justice system deals with young people who offend in a different way to adults who offend
(ACS Distance Education 2011). Crime is a widespread issue in society and criminal activities are
beginning to get worse. Along with that a lot of young people are now getting involved in criminal
activities. Statistics show that there were over 47,000 criminals between the ages of 16 21 committing
crimes (Whitehead 2014). There are many reason why young people choose to commit crimes, these
would include problems at home, peer pressure, boredom, poverty etc. it was found that poverty is one
of the main reasons that young people turn to crime due to job cuts and other factors (Association of
Chief Officers of Probation 1993). A report was carried out in Southmead and it showed that young
people were the only group that were identified as criminals (Brent 2006:26). The main conflict
between adults and young people seems to be based around behaviour in public.

Assess the Usefulness of Functionalist Approaches in...
Functionalists look at society as a whole. They explain crime and deviance by stating that the source
of deviance lies in the nature of society rather than the individual. Durkheim states that crime and
deviance is inevitable and a certain level is necessary for society to exist. He also claims that it is a
positive aspect of society as it shows examples of rights and wrongs within society and by punishing
offenders, through ways such as public humiliation and portraying crime as wrong, raises awareness
of crime and therefore deters others from committing crime along with creating a collective
conscience. He also argues that crime and deviance allows social change to occur which is needed in
order for society to remain stable. Durkheim s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He believes that the formation of the subcultures release the status frustration by creating their own
values for achieving status and therefore deviant behaviour becomes normal and valued within the
group. This is useful when looking at explanations of crime as it highlights that crime and deviance is
a collective rational response to the norms and values of society. However, Cohen fails to consider
why women in society commit crimes and form subcultures. He has also been criticised as we cannot
be sure that the working class know the middle class values enough in order to purposely reject them.
Furthermore, Cloward and Ohlin combine Merton and Cohen s theories by stating that there is a
legitimate opportunity such as passing exams and getting a job, and an illegitimate opportunity, such
as gangs. They believe that the working class have easier access to the illegitimate structure meaning
that it is easier for them to commit more crimes and so face more pressure to do so. Cloward and
Ohlin claim that there are 3 types of subcultures: criminal subculture in which people climb the
professional criminal hierarchy, conflict subculture in which there is little/no social cohesion and
retreatest subcultures in which people fail in both the legitimate and illegitimate opportunity and
retreat to things such as alcohol and drugs. This is useful when looking at explanations of crime as it

Essay On Juvenile Sentencing
When it comes to kids, we tend to baby them. We organize their lives and set limits on everything. If
they want to do something outside those limits we tell them they are not old enough or they have not
experienced enough of the world yet. After all, what can they possibly know about love, major
decisions, and what is best for them? Yet somehow, despite all this, when they commit a crime we turn
into hypocrites. Magically, they are geniuses who know everything about the world. In society s eyes,
they are no longer a child, but a monster.

juveniles receive longer sentences.
Article 2 Sexual Abuse and Recidivism
In this study, a group of juveniles were evaluated by completing a self reported assessment, being
interviewed by a psychologist, and having their caretaker/guardian interviewed. The authors took this
information and used demographics, substance abuse, psychiatric diagnosis, interviews, standardized
measures, legal history, and history of childhood sexual abuse to determine recidivism rates among
juveniles. The participants were monitored and after 12 months the authors gathered the data to
determine what factors were key among those who had reoffended compared to those that did not.
Results
This study revealed that 32% of males and 22% of female juveniles reoffended within 12 months
(Conrad, Tolou Shams, Rizzo, Placella, Brown, 2014). Besides rates of recidivism, there were also
factors that separated the sexes. Males tended to have more issues with drugs or alcohol and prior
offenses while females experienced more childhood sexual

Understand The Relationship Between Assistive Technology...
Understanding the Relationship between Assistive Technology and Universal Design?
To better understand the difference and relationship between assistive technology (AT) and Universal
Design (UD) we must first understand their definition.
Assistive technology in the digital age goes beyond eyeglasses, canes and wheelchairs. The more high
tech kind includes newer technologies that made a particularly dramatic impact on education.
The following are good examples of AT designed for a specific set of individuals:
For people with physical disabilities, there are alternative keyboards and electronic mobility switches
For individuals with visual impairment, there are text to speech readers and computer screen enlargers
For those with hearing disabilities, there are signing avatars and electronic sign language dictionaries
For people with learning disabilities there are spell checkers and calculators
With the availability of this computer based ATs, overcoming barriers to educational access, progress
and participation is made easier.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL), on the other hand, is relatively new to education and learning.

Iva Park Trail Short Story Report
It was always a joy for the trail crew to call in the mules and horses early in the morning from the
lush, Leprechaun green government pasture down in Red s Meadow on a sweet, warm summer s day.
The animals really loved it too, as they munched on mush from feed bags tied around their necks.
They would get so frisky and spunky from feeling their oats that they would deposit road apples in the
corral. This was soon stomped into the dirt and completely overwhelmed the fresh, fragrant smell of
flowers, meadow and forest.
After they were fed it was time to brush, saddle, pack and place each mule in its unique position in the
string. Each animal found its place in the string depending on its own temperament, skills and
personality.

It was a big land that humbled the little crew, as they ventured into the backcountry to repair the trails
that the American people so dearly love.
When they finally reached Iva Belle, they decided to set up camp in their favorite location, above the
meadow and in the Lodgepole Pine trees. Packers and trail crews always have a favorite spot that they
go to, and this was it. The men were tired from the long ride but knew they must take care of the
animals first. They threw up a hitch line between some trees and tethered each animal to it. They
unpacked, unsaddled and watered the stock one by one at a small creek nearby. Camp was set up
quickly in their special, organized way with a kitchen, latrine and tent pads. Firewood was gathered
and dinner ready to go within an hour. Everyone felt very satisfied after eating a fresh salad, steak,
corn on the cob and ice cold beer. Mule packing was definitely the life of luxury in the backcountry.
Most of the trail crew had heard stories about the notorious history of Iva Belle Hot Springs in the 60s,
when it was rumored that naked hippies wandered aimlessly, stoned on LSD, doing God only knows
what in the water bubbling up from the bowels of the earth.
At the mention of this, the boss said to the crew, Let s take the halters off the stock and let them graze

Expat Kids
Expat Kids How to Cope With the Right Attitude!
By Steven McManus
Jul 15, 2009
Is being an expat all about attitude, and if so, does this have an immense influence on expat children
and how they perceive their situation in this new environment?
After much research on the topic there were a few points that stood out for me on how to be an expat
child these are discussed below:
1. Attitude
Your attitude as the adult and parent is going to greatly influence how your children settle in the
country and accept the move.
We can decide whether to be positive or negative about becoming expats. The more positive parent
results in a well adjusted child who looks at the glass half full, finds the positive in every situation and
tries to adjust as much as you do.
Trudie says: We saw this move as a wonderful opportunity to expose our children to the world and
maybe broaden their horizons.
Shirley says: I hated where we moved to and people were not as friendly as I thought they would be
and it was hard and lonely. I had to work hard to change, but with a positive attitude, my children have
become so much happier.
2. Being Open minded:
In every case of becoming an expat, the circumstances you are going to experience are different. If
you have not been brought up in the culture it is going to be an adjustment. Parents need to be open
minded and to allow their children to do the same.
Monique says: Being an expat parent really depends on a lot of things, e.g. where you are

Taliban Women s Roles
After 20 years of civil war, the Taliban, an extremist militia, took over and plunged Afghanistan into
gender apartheid. The Taliban is a group composed of all men; they initially started to take over in
1994, but they didn t overthrow the capital, Kabul, until 1996. Many people originally thought they
would help stabilize the country; however, its oppressive laws threw women into destitution. Shortly
after the Taliban came to power, women s right for healthcare, education, and other lifestyle
constraints drastically changed placing women into a state of virtual house arrest. The Taliban
jeopardized the health of women when they cut off access to proper medical care. To consider what
life was like before the Taliban took control, N. Lukanovich writes, The interpretation of Islam was

Women were given only the most rudimentary access to medical care, shortening life expectancy and
increasing mortality rates. They were also banished from any schooling whether it was public, private,

allowed to go out, had to be escorted by a male relative. Women also had rules against showing their
skin; they were forced to wear a burqa every time they stepped out of their house. They were not
allowed to show an inch of their skin and if they did, even by accident, they were punished harshly.
The Taliban had no remorse for how they treated these women. Although they were defeated in 2001,
many of their concepts are still being practiced today, and women are continuously treated unequally.

Colonists Reactions To The Stamp Act Of 1765
In 1765 the stamp act was passed by the british because they were in debt from the french and indian

towards the tax, there were violent acts and some less violent acts. Colonial families in 1765 had
multiple ways of reacting towards the stamp act such as violently trying to make the tax collectors
resign, boycotting british products, feeling like slaves towards england, and writing documents and
petitions to the king.
By having no say in the outcome of the tax the colonists in the english colonies were not as mad about
the price of the tax but more of being like a slave towards england. In england people with no land or

Webb. I believe that Webb was a transformational leader. Born on February 15th, 1853, in NYC, New
York, Webb was raised in a house with military leaders. Attending the United States Military Academy
in 1855, he continued his service until the yeah 1870 with many different accomplishments and goals
met. He received recognition from men who have shaped the country today and made differences in
the way men were led during combat. Throughout his military career, I believe Webb established a
transformational leadership style. I also would like to obtain the sane leadership qualities he possessed
and be able to apply them to my own career. Alexander S Webb, Brevet Major General Webb in the
Army, is a leader worth looking up to and following.
To begin with, Webb ranked 13 out of 34 when he graduated from the United States Military
Academy. He had an excellent militarily lineage to look up to as well. Both his father and grandfather
were active members in the Army. At the outbreak of the Civil War, Webb began to show all his
leadership styles in front of many high ranks on different occasions. Through time, he gained the trust
of higher ranks with his qualities and was promoted quickly.

Title IX And Its Effects On Women And Their Education
Title IX and the impacts on women and their education
HISTORY:
Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972 is the landmark legislation that bans sex
discrimination in schools, whether it is in academics or athletics. Title IX states:
No person in the U.S. shall, on the basis of sex be excluded from participation in, or denied the
benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any educational program or activity receiving
federal aid.
Athletics has created the most controversy regarding Title IX, but its gains in education and academics
are notable. Before Title IX, many schools refused to admit women or enforced strict limits. Some
statistics highlighting the advancements follow:
In 1994, women received 38% of medical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On the 25th anniversary of Title IX it seems fitting to suggest that America is a more equal, more
educated and more prosperous nation because of the far reaching effects of this legislation.
Much has been accomplished in the classroom and on the playing field and we have many reasons to
celebrate the success of Title IX in expanding our nation s definition of equality. With Title IX, we
affirm what can be accomplished when we allow all Americans men and women an equal opportunity
to be their best.
What is significant about the progress that has been achieved since Title IX was passed in 1972 is that
there has been a lot of change in the expectations of what women can and have been achieving. It is
important to note that women have shown the skeptics many times that females are fully capable of
being involved, successful active participants in every realm of American life. Women astronauts from
Mae Jamison to Sally Ride have made their marks in space. The Women s National Soccer team
achieved Olympic glory as well as a World Championship. Women are involved in the medical and
legal professions in record numbers. There has also been an increase in women s participation in
intercollegiate athletics.
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 bolsters this national agenda and prohibits sex
discrimination in federally assisted education programs. Title IX was modeled on Title VI of

Marketing Communications Mix
Introduction
The purpose of this essay is to look at the Marketing Communications Mix, clearly define the meaning
of each type and show how Coca Cola, one of the biggest brands on the global market, utilises each
method.
Belch, E. and Belch A. describe Integrated Marketing Communications as a concept of marketing
communications planning that recognizes the added value of a comprehensive plan that evaluates the
strategic roles of a variety of communication disciplines and combines these disciplines to provide
clarity, consistency and maximum communications impact .
The disciples in the marketing communications include:

Trade oriented:

The Coke show sales promotion is currently running and part of the Coke side of life website has been
created for this promotion. This promotion encourages consumers to send in videos of what they see
as the essence of Coca cola to be judged by professional movie producers. Coca cola has made use of
the internet for short promotions such as the World Cup in 2006 and this new campaign the Coca cola
Show.
Sales Promotions Use:
Introduce New Products
Get existing customers to buy more
Attract new customers
Combat competition
Maintain sales in off season
Increase retail inventories
Tie in advertising personal selling
Enhance personal selling efforts
Coca Cola uses the pull strategy in their promotion. They promote to the consumers to create the want
for their product which in turn creates a demand on the retailers and then back to them. In
supermarkets and convenience stores Coca Cola has their own fridges which contain only their
products.

Kenya Safari Questions And Answers
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)
If you are about to travel to Kenya for the first time, you will probably have all sorts of questions. We
have compiled a list of questions (and answers!) we get asked every day by our guests. If your
question is not listed below please contact (Link) us and we ll get back to you as soon as we can.
Why Should you choose a Kenya Safari? Why travel to Masai Mara?
Kenya has some of Africa s finest national parks, offering one of the best and most accessible game
viewing in the world, including the hard to resist attraction of the Big Five (Link). The country also
offers a breathtaking natural beauty. From the snow capped mountains, white sandy beaches to the
deep Rift Valley with its extinct volcanoes, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For your own safety, do not hang your hand outside the window during the game drive.
What type of language should I take?
When travelling on safari, baggage should be kept to a minimum since you will be using a chartered
aircraft from Nairobi to Masai Mara. This should be in soft duffle bags as opposed to hard suitcases in
order to fit in the baggage compartment on small aircraft. Most internal flights allow a limit up to
15Kg (33 lbs) of luggage. On road safaris, the weight and size allowance is not as important but you
should still try to travel light. Please read your itinerary carefully and pack accordingly. See more
details on our recommended Packing List (Link).
Do mobile/cell phones work on safari?
Yes, there is an extensive mobile (cell) phone service coverage throughout the country. Before
traveling, we suggest you contact your local provider regarding International use of your mobile
device. Since most people come on safari to get away from the outside world, we feel that we must set
some limitations to the use of these phones in our camps and on safari. If you use your phone during
your safari please respect other guests and do not use the phone during game drives or while within
the camp s common areas such as the

Essay on Human Rights in Brazil
Human Rights in Brazil
The population in Brazil consists of 144 million people. Brazil is one of the fastest growing nations in
the Western Hemisphere. Its population is increasing at the rate of about 2 % a year. The constitution
of Brazil gives the president tremendous powers. For example, the president may intervene in affairs
of Brazil s states. The chief executive may even create new states from existing ones.
Brazil has three main ethnic groups whites, blacks, and people of mixed ancestry. Most of the whites
are from Europe. According to the Brazilian government whites make up about 60% of the nation s
population, and people of mixed races form about 30%. However, the government of Brazil counts

The prisoners reported incidents of torture and named the alleged torturers, even though they were in
the same room. The inmates expressed their fears of reprisals from the prison staff. Some of them told
the delegates that the director of the prison had threatened them with severe punishment if they dared
to speak out. The torture they described included beatings, near drowning, death threats and electric
shocks.
In his report on the visit to Recife, one of the delegates, the President of the National Council for
Penal and Prison Policy, noted that despite persistent reports in the local press about ill treatment in
prisons in Pernambuco, the Judge of Penal Sentences and the Secretary of Justice for Pernambuco
claimed to have no official knowledge of the prisoners complaints. He asked the state authorities to
investigate the prisoners allegations, but no information has emerged about any investigation.
Two incidents involving prisoners with AIDS were reported in Sðo Paulo in 1994. On 27 March, a
woman prisoner who was in the final stages of AIDS in the Central Hospital of the Penitentiary
System, was reportedly beaten by a prison warden. The woman, named Leci Nazareth da Silva, who
was in great pain, was calling for the assistance of a nurse when, just after midnight, a warden came to
her cell, shouted at her to shut up, and hit her in the face.

Passion In Medea
Typically, throughout history a tragedy has been defined by containing a male hero who goes from
happiness to misery. Medea is just one example of an Ancient Greek play which actively rejects this
trope. Written in 431 BC by Euripides, Medea is based on the Greek myth of Jason and Medea
wherein Medea is rejected by her husband and resorts to killing their children in an act of vengeance.
It can be argued whether her actions were justified or whether she was acting out of passion as a fickle
, emotional woman. Worthen argues that woman are seen as creatures of passion whereas men
represent the organizing principles of the Greek state: Reason, the law and legitimate society. This
argument is based on the idea that passion and emotion are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Why does she feel the need to go further? Medea uses the excuse that they won t be killed by another
hand less kindly than them but the children are his property, an extension of himself, of his identity ...
the children are his successors, representing his continued presence in the world. (65) Medea s
decision to murder her children can be seen as a sublime act, as she puts her desire for vengeance and
justice above her own feelings. It can be said that choosing the pain or suffering that you will endure
is recognition of your own free will. Medea was aware she was being exiled and she had already lost
her husband, thus by choosing to kill her children she was regaining control of her situation.
Furthermore, she represents the women in her community, who are viewed as second class citizens.
The way that Medea and, she argues, all women is positioned as an outsider, an exile to the governing
categories of Greek life, is a deeper, more permanent isolation than her exile. The Chorus, a vital part
of a tragedy according to Aristotle, describe a world where men will be known for deception women
will be honoured, representing a reversal of presumed

How Much Power Does Corruption
Power does corrupt because of money, laws (for freedom), and fame. Power does corrupt sometimes,
but mostly, yes. Power does corrupt because sometimes, other people only think about themselves of
being popular or having fame. Sometimes they only care about money. But what s the reason? Power
does corrupt because of money. It can be used to people by wasting it in a bad way or just being
famous by doing stupid things. For example, Some celebrities are ruined by drugs like Michael
Jackson. When you have power, sometimes you re rich and they steal something from you. And
sometimes, people gets jealous of you by having a power. Power does corrupt because of laws/rules or
changes in society. For example, Harrison Bergeron a science fiction

The Guiding Elements Of Holocracy
The guiding elements of holocracy include a range of ways to reorganise the governance structure of
organisations. This section will look through these elements through two lenses. First, we ll use
Zappos as an example to explain the elements. But secondly, we ll also explain how these structures
differ from the traditional model for organisations.
Roles not job descriptions
Perhaps the striking difference between traditional governance structures and the holocracy model is
evident in job descriptions. Whilst we are typically used to job titles such as the vice president,
manager and so forth, holocratic systems remove these altogether. For example, as we cited John
Bunch above, we didn t list any specific role for him at Zappos because ... Show more content on

Circle structure
Traditional organisations are generally structured around a hierarchic model. You have someone above
you in the organisation until you get to the top. But holocracy removes this hierarchical structure in
favour of a democratic circle structure.
What this means is that the roles form a circle structure within the organisation. For example, certain
roles regarding the organisation s finances might form a larger circle. However, there is hierarchical
organisation in the way the circles are laid out. Certain circles are above others in terms of
management. Nonetheless, each circle has the ability to self organise.
The authority to decide the roles, to assign tasks and to take responsibility lies within the circle, not a
single person or a different part of the organisation.
Hsieh explained this structure is about moving faster, being more responsive and adaptable, and
enabling employees talents and passions to shine . Each circle can gather around and adjust the roles
and tasks ahead without having to run it through a hierarchical system.
Rapid iterations replace big re organisations
Another element that comes together with this untraditional structure is the way holocracy deals with
re organisation. Unlike in traditional organisations, where updates to structure happen every few years,
under holocracy the structure is updated in rapid iterations.
The aim is to keep the organisation up to date

Essay about Egon Schiele s Self-Portrait
Egon Schiele s Self Portrait
When I look at this portrait, the first thing that hits me is the way the artist, Egon Schiele, appears to
have made himself look animated, like a cartoon. The way in which his right eye is rounded like a
cartoon character and his left eye is squinting and almost shut, adds to the idea of a the portrait being a
cartoon. The squinted left eye is as if he is sneaking around and evaluating his surroundings. If you
cover the right side of the face (with the widely opened eye), it makes you realise that the left side
with the squinted eye does not look very lifelike, but the two eyes seem to cancel each other out.
The over exaggerated wrinkles on Schiele s face and neck make him look a lot older than he actually
... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I have found out that at the time of this painting, Egon Schiele like to give an expression of extreme
poverty. But his claims that at this time he was virtually in rags are at odds not only with what his
contemporaries have to say, but with the photographs taken of him. His letters make it plain that he
suffered from a degree of persecution mania (a feeling that others have evil designs against one s well
being) for example, he wrote in a letter of 1910: How hideous it is here! Everyone envies me and
conspires against me. Former colleagues regard me with malevolent eyes. This information could back
up the idea that Schiele was making himself look older in the paintings and look animated because he
actually felt old, and the fact that the left eye is squinting as if looking around and being paranoid
could also be due to his persecution mania at the time.
The portrait is basically just an artist s self portrait. Around this time, Egon Schiele became fascinated
by his own appearance, and made self portraits in large numbers. This is one of those portraits. The
title does not give away any clues to the meaning or symbolism of the piece, it is just called Self
Portrait Pulling Cheek .
One of Schiele s idols was Gustav Klimt, who had previously studied at the same school, the School
of Arts and Crafts in Vienna. We cannot really compare any similarities between the two artists styles,
but we can maybe say that Schiele was influenced by

The Poultry Farming Is The Most Popular Industry For The...
Introduction: The poultry industry has become the most popular industry for the small holders with
tremendous contribution in the world and employment opportunities creation (Adebayo and Adeola,
2005; Okonkwo and Akubo, 2001). Therefore, it is important that poultry farming be carried out
efficiently for high productivity and sustainability of the poultry industry. It has been established that
feeding constitutes over that a estimate of 70% of the total cost of egg and broiler production
(Afolayan and Afolayan, 2008) which implies that efforts to increase Ghana poultry industry
productivity should be directed towards improving feed formulation system. This lab report seeks to
apply mathematical optimization techniques to the feed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Every year the marketing age of broilers decreases by an average of 0.75 days for the same
performance. The problem is recognized as optimizing cost factor, which depends on constraints
(ingredients of the feed) and could be solved by Deterministic Linear Programming Model, (DLPM)
or Mixed Integer Programming, (MIP). This trend is likely to continue in the same direction for the
coming years. Nutrition plays a vital role in enabling this improvement. As the feed cost represents an
expensive input (70 80% of broiler production cost), the poultry producer should be aware of the
dynamics of the feed in its influence on final product quantity and quality. Formulating feed ideally
requires in depth knowledge of several parameters such as the energy level to be maintained in the
diet, balancing the amino acid profile and electrolytes of feed etc., which, otherwise, if not properly
monitored, could negatively influence the performance and profitability of the business.
Many poultry farmers, however, employ inefficient methods like rule of thumb, experiences, and
intuition to handle feed formulation problem. The poultry industry has a significant effect on national
economy; it is a popular industry for the small holders. The aim of this lab report is to develop an
optimization feed formulation model, using locally available feed ingredients, for the poultry industry.

The Magic Of The Surreal Dubai The magic of the surreal Dubai Dubai is a giant Disneyland, where everything is based on the law of supply and demand, and life is artificial; the main destination on Tourists map and one of the main cities of the United Arab Emirates, most of the time, wrongly assumed as a capital of the country. Dubai attracts with inadequate amount of entertainments, and ability to earn and live a better life. Emiratis admire western expatriates and this is no secret that with the support of the British (or American) citizenship the attitude is changing to better, and salary higher than that of other foreigners Until now, this approach has justified itself: in just 43 years of existence of the United Arab Emirates have become the country with a developed economy and infrastructure. And the Dubai from small villages, hunted pearling and fish became a city fairy tale, the richness of which legends. Legends of the lot. It should be noted that many of them have been confirmed in reality. With 289 pages, this book is about the struggles people are facing in a little town when it seems war may come at any moment. The Prophet of Yonwood is the third book in the City of Ember Series. In Asia, the policy of wearing uniform enforces strongly during school hours and whenever at schools. The policy is enforced because schools want to teach discipline to their students and prevent unanticipated troubles at school. The policy of school uniforms is not completely implemented in the United States, especially public schools. Those punishments make Kaylee know what it felt, and apologized for what she had done before. Ally is a responsible mother because she took punishments to tell her children about insulting, and prevent bullying at school. Enforcing the policy of school uniforms is a controversial debate between people. Some parents disagree because school uniforms are costly for some people. They think that they have to buy two types of outfits, school uniforms and daily outfits. One parent Josias Jere said uniforms were too expensive for an average parent who had many children to look after and send to school (Sikapizye 1). The United States is a country that honors the freedom of speech. Some parents think that their children s freedom of speech will be constrained by the policy of wearing school uniforms. Many students who are against school uniforms argue that they lose their self identity when they lose their right to express themselves through fashion (Kouzmie 1). Students also think that school uniforms will limit their expression and creativity. Wearing school uniforms to school is more economical than you have to buy outfits to school. In a week, students need 5 different outfits to go to school because they usually do not want to use same outfits in a week. If students use school uniforms, they will only need 2 or 3 uniforms a week because they do not have to use ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Indirect Murder Cases While many thousands of murder cases go unsolved every year, it is a probable assumption that the general public would most likely only be able to name all they knew on one hand. In no particular order, the top three reoccurring would most likely be: the 1994 murder of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman (estranged ex husband Orenthal James Simpson), the 2008 murder of Caylee Anthony (mother Casey Anthony), and the 1996 murder of JonBenet Ramsey (Patsy, John, and Burke Ramsey). As all of these are high profile cold cases, all of them have thoroughly investigated not only by local investigators but also through the public eye, yet no charges have been filed against any party. Two of the three cases show blatant similarities one is that two of the three happened within the first six years of life (Caylee Anthony and JonBenet Ramsey), and in these cases the mothers were investigated more than any other possible suspect. One man has reviewed these previous cases in addition to multiple others, Stephen Diamond, who is a clinical and forensic psychologist in Los Angeles is further reviewing the JonBenet murder from the stance of a psychologist, just after the case has been cold for twenty years. This poem is known worldwide and with reason. Being presented for the first time, sometime before 1000 BC. Its also known as the most important Greek poem ever. Alongside the well known Iliad. Beowulf being the main character, travels from his home land to a foreign country, where they have been ravaged by a monster named grendel. Which leads to another monster which is Grendel s mother. The poem ends with Beowulf killing his last monster, a dragon. But the reader is met with the question why did he do all of this? Beowulf s motivations in the epic poem Beowulf are presented as his duty to do so, for the fame and glory, and to sacrifice himself for the betterment of others. • 9. Analysis Of Richard Rodriguez s A Stranger And Strange... Comparative Analysis Over the past month, we have been studying the concept of reading and writing in different communities. To assess this, we have read two different texts. Richard Rodriguez s the achievement of desire , from his autobiography Hunger of Memory ; and Lucille McCarthy s A Stranger in Strange Lands: A College Student Writing across the Curriculum from Research in the Teaching of English . Both answer key questions regarding what it takes to become a great reader and writer, however, from the reading that I have done, each one only answers one part of the question. Rodriguez s main focus is in the aspect of reading, whereas McCarthy mainly focuses on the writing portion. Both do a decent job of analyzing and putting forth a view of how they believe a person can best perform in these environments. This then allows us to use their concepts and create our own version, based on their points of view. But why should we care? Most people at this level of academia will have developed a system of writing that works for them, and will have a difficult time breaking from it if they re process doesn t meet the criteria that Rodriguez, and McCarthy put forth. The reason it s so important is because of implications these ideas have. Both authors put forth concepts that are indirectly related to one another and that are highly beneficial to all who will apply them. They will force you to conform to new environments in order to succeed, this in turn will make you more ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. The Relation Between Genetics And Physiology And Medicine Thomas H. Morgan: The relation of genetics to physiology and medicine. Genetics is the study of how hereditary characteristics or genes are inherited. The studies of genetics have first been recognized by Gregor Mendel. Gregor Mendel studied how traits were passed down from parent to offspring using pea plants. It was later discovered that Mendel s law of inheritance not only worked for pea plants but also on, animals and humans. Mendel s experiments gave rise to the importance of chromosomes in genetic experiments, crossing over, and linkage. Thomas H. Morgan experimented on Drosophila melanogaster, fruit flies to give further analysis of Mendel s two laws of inheritance. Morgan s work have been recognized for discovery of sex linked genes and the importance of understanding genes for medical practice, in which he discusses in his Nobel Prize lecture; The relation of genetics to physiology and medicine. To first understand sex linked inheritance we must understand Gregor Mendel s two laws of inheritance. Mendel s first law of inheritance or Law of Segregation, describes how each allele in a pair separates and forms into different gamete or sex cells, during the uniting of these sex cells (the sperm and the egg). The second law of inheritance or Law of independent assortment states that, a pair of alleles segregate or separate independently from the other allele in the union of the sex cells. There are all these questions that we have about fast food but if people realized what actually in these foods I don t think we would be wanting to keep putting them in their body. This generation thinks they know everything so if you try telling them what s good and bad there still going to say I don t care and keep eating it so it s hard to really help people anymore. So what I am trying to get to is that why put unhealthy stuff in your body when you can be healthy and put good in your body. Our body needs good healthy fresh grown organic stuff in our body. Instead we keep putting all this processed food instead. I am telling this because I have had my own personal experience with eating healthy and working out. Arrington has against advertising is puffery. The reason/reasons why Arrington has a problem with puffery is due to the fact that the seller makes exaggerated, or suggestive claims about a product. His overall argument on puffery is that it isn t just bragging but it is bragging that is designed to persuade you to want the item or product being sold. The bragging goes so far as they convince the viewer (of the advertisement) they need the product. Puffery ultimately leads to manipulation, exploitation, and control over what people think of the product. Although Arrington has reasons ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since its debut in the 1960s musical The Roar of the Greasepaint The Smell of the Crowd, the song Feeling Good has been covered by dozens of notable artists. Among them are Nina Simone and Avicii featuring the vocals of Audra Mae. The song originates from a scene in the musical sung by the character The Negro after he wins the game [of life] in spite of the abuse and racism he experiences at the hands of the musical s main characters. Like Grant, Simone uses vibrato throughout the song. However, while Grant has a steadily low pitch, Simone has an almost magical voice that manages to flawlessly fluctuate between both high and low pitches throughout the song. It is this technique that gives the song a strong emotional texture. Where Grant s voice sounded desperately triumphant over hardships, Simone s sounds eagerly hopeful for a bright new future. Simone makes the song her own even more with her dynamic techniques. Unlike Grant who built up a crescendo throughout the song, Simone keeps a relatively steady volume until the climax when she concludes the song powerfully loud. Another way that Grant and Simone s versions differ is the way the timbre is altered by their accompaniments. Simone has a typical jazz band accompanying her that is very heavy in the brass department with its trumpet, trombone, and tuba. It also is heavy with piano and a little bit of drums that all come together to create a bright and energetic tone that helps one feel empowered just by hearing the song. In one of the song s more recent covers, American singer Audra Mae has a steadily high pitch in contrast to Grant s bass range and Simone s both low and high range vocals. Nevertheless, Audra Mae s wavering voice pays a beautiful homage to both Grant and Simone s versions of the song. However, it s the techno accompaniment performed by Swedish DJ Avicii that truly gives the song ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Homage to Catalonia George Orwell Homage To Catalonia Published by Harvest books (New York) in June 1969,264 pgs Book Review of Homage to Catalonia George Orwell, noted writer and journalist, arrived in Barcelona, Spain in late 1936 to cover the fight against fascism. Being an avid fan of socialism, he was amazed to see the small glimpse of socialism in action. He was intrigued to say the least, of the classless society he observed there. Barcelona, Spain at this time was held under Anarchist control, and as such most of the old class society rituals were abandoned: tipping, titles, and the old divisions between rich and poor were practically gone. Everyone was equal in this new society, and most of the rich aristocrats had either fled or went into ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Later after 115 days on the frontlines, Orwell receives a leave to return to Barcelona. Upon arriving in Barcelona he is struck by the changes that have occurred. On the streets he once again heard titles of servile nature being spewed from one persons mouth to another, the rich and poor clearly reappearing, and the resemblance of a class society slowly drifting back into view. Later he describes his sadness after getting dragged into street fighting caused by infighting between the communists and various anarchist factions, mostly caused by communistic led police trying to seize a telephone exchange held by anarchists in Barcelona. Finally after escaping the street fighting, he returns to the front for a short time until being shot through the throat by enemy sniper fire, which lands him in various hospitals until he is finally declared medically unfit to fight. After being declared unfit to fight, Orwell s real problems begin. Returning to Barcelona to get his military discharge papers stamped, he finds that his ignorance of joining the first anti fascist militia he came across begins to haunt him. In Barcelona, his former unit the P.O.U.M has been fully suppressed and has sadly become the political scapegoat of Communist propaganda and all former P.O.U.M members were being rounded up and arrested. He laments at the sights of how his former comrades were being treated, but has no time to do much for them, because he is on the run as well. Finally ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It was not written to replace the Gospel of Mark, but as a new account written for an audience under different circumstances than Mark s community. The church was becoming more Gentiles than Jews. Most people in Luke s community were not familiar with the Jewish traditions that were referred to by many preachers. Many members of the community were well off as well. This community struggled to follow a church that had a Hebrew core. These issues are what influenced Luke s writing. It will also point out key policies and legislative frameworks linked to young offenders and how these policies promote social justice and equality. The term young offender refers to a person (male or female between the ages of 10 17) who has been convicted of or cautioned about a criminal offence. The term young offender is often used because the criminal justice system deals with young people who offend in a different way to adults who offend (ACS Distance Education 2011). Crime is a widespread issue in society and criminal activities are beginning to get worse. Along with that a lot of young people are now getting involved in criminal activities. Statistics show that there were over 47,000 criminals between the ages of 16 21 committing crimes (Whitehead 2014). There are many reason why young people choose to commit crimes, these would include problems at home, peer pressure, boredom, poverty etc. it was found that poverty is one of the main reasons that young people turn to crime due to job cuts and other factors (Association of Chief Officers of Probation 1993). Durkheim states that crime and deviance is inevitable and a certain level is necessary for society to exist. He also claims that it is a positive aspect of society as it shows examples of rights and wrongs within society and by punishing offenders, through ways such as public humiliation and portraying crime as wrong, raises awareness of crime and therefore deters others from committing crime along with creating a collective conscience. However, Cohen fails to consider why women in society commit crimes and form subcultures. By Steven McManus Jul 15, 2009 Is being an expat all about attitude, and if so, does this have an immense influence on expat children and how they perceive their situation in this new environment? After much research on the topic there were a few points that stood out for me on how to be an expat child these are discussed below: 1. Attitude Your attitude as the adult and parent is going to greatly influence how your children settle in the country and accept the move. We can decide whether to be positive or negative about becoming expats. The more positive parent results in a well adjusted child who looks at the glass half full, finds the positive in every situation and tries to adjust as much as you do. Trudie says: We saw this move as a wonderful opportunity to expose our children to the world and maybe broaden their horizons. Shirley says: I hated where we moved to and people were not as friendly as I thought they would be and it was hard and lonely. I had to work hard to change, but with a positive attitude, my children have become so much happier. 2. Being Open minded: In every case of becoming an expat, the circumstances you are going to experience are different. If you have not been brought up in the culture it is going to be an adjustment. Parents need to be open minded and to allow their children to do the same. Monique says: Being an expat parent really depends on a lot of things, e.g. where you are ... • 45. Passion In Medea Typically, throughout history a tragedy has been defined by containing a male hero who goes from happiness to misery. Medea is just one example of an Ancient Greek play which actively rejects this trope. Written in 431 BC by Euripides, Medea is based on the Greek myth of Jason and Medea wherein Medea is rejected by her husband and resorts to killing their children in an act of vengeance. It can be argued whether her actions were justified or whether she was acting out of passion as a fickle , emotional woman. (65) Medea s decision to murder her children can be seen as a sublime act, as she puts her desire for vengeance and justice above her own feelings. It can be said that choosing the pain or suffering that you will endure is recognition of your own free will. Medea was aware she was being exiled and she had already lost her husband, thus by choosing to kill her children she was regaining control of her situation. Furthermore, she represents the women in her community, who are viewed as second class citizens. The way that Medea and, she argues, all women is positioned as an outsider, an exile to the governing categories of Greek life, is a deeper, more permanent isolation than her exile. This section will look through these elements through two lenses. First, we ll use Zappos as an example to explain the elements. But secondly, we ll also explain how these structures differ from the traditional model for organisations. Roles not job descriptions Perhaps the striking difference between traditional governance structures and the holocracy model is evident in job descriptions. Whilst we are typically used to job titles such as the vice president, manager and so forth, holocratic systems remove these altogether. For example, as we cited John Bunch above, we didn t list any specific role for him at Zappos because ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Circle structure Traditional organisations are generally structured around a hierarchic model. You have someone above you in the organisation until you get to the top. But holocracy removes this hierarchical structure in favour of a democratic circle structure. What this means is that the roles form a circle structure within the organisation. For example, certain roles regarding the organisation s finances might form a larger circle. However, there is hierarchical organisation in the way the circles are laid out. Certain circles are above others in terms of management. Nonetheless, each circle has the ability to self organise. The authority to decide the roles, to assign tasks and to take responsibility lies within the circle, not a single person or a different part of the organisation. Hsieh explained this structure is about moving faster, being more responsive and adaptable, and enabling employees talents and passions to shine . Each circle can gather around and adjust the roles and tasks ahead without having to run it through a hierarchical system. Rapid iterations replace big re organisations Another element that comes together with this untraditional structure is the way holocracy deals with re organisation. Unlike in traditional organisations, where updates to structure happen every few years, under holocracy the structure is updated in rapid iterations. The aim is to keep the organisation up to date

Essay about Egon Schiele s Self-Portrait Egon Schiele s Self Portrait When I look at this portrait, the first thing that hits me is the way the artist, Egon Schiele, appears to have made himself look animated, like a cartoon. The way in which his right eye is rounded like a cartoon character and his left eye is squinting and almost shut, adds to the idea of a the portrait being a cartoon. The squinted left eye is as if he is sneaking around and evaluating his surroundings. If you cover the right side of the face (with the widely opened eye), it makes you realise that the left side with the squinted eye does not look very lifelike, but the two eyes seem to cancel each other out. I have found out that at the time of this painting, Egon Schiele like to give an expression of extreme poverty. But his claims that at this time he was virtually in rags are at odds not only with what his contemporaries have to say, but with the photographs taken of him. His letters make it plain that he suffered from a degree of persecution mania (a feeling that others have evil designs against one s well being) for example, he wrote in a letter of 1910: How hideous it is here! Everyone envies me and conspires against me. Former colleagues regard me with malevolent eyes. This information could back up the idea that Schiele was making himself look older in the paintings and look animated because he actually felt old, and the fact that the left eye is squinting as if looking around and being paranoid could also be due to his persecution mania at the time. The portrait is basically just an artist s self portrait. Around this time, Egon Schiele became fascinated by his own appearance, and made self portraits in large numbers. This is one of those portraits. The title does not give away any clues to the meaning or symbolism of the piece, it is just called Self Portrait Pulling Cheek . Every year the marketing age of broilers decreases by an average of 0.75 days for the same performance. The problem is recognized as optimizing cost factor, which depends on constraints (ingredients of the feed) and could be solved by Deterministic Linear Programming Model, (DLPM) or Mixed Integer Programming, (MIP). This trend is likely to continue in the same direction for the coming years. Nutrition plays a vital role in enabling this improvement. As the feed cost represents an expensive input (70 80% of broiler production cost), the poultry producer should be aware of the dynamics of the feed in its influence on final product quantity and quality. Formulating feed ideally requires in depth knowledge of several parameters such as the energy level to be maintained in the diet, balancing the amino acid profile and electrolytes of feed etc., which, otherwise, if not properly monitored, could negatively influence the performance and profitability of the business.
