Designing An Effective Home Office
Introduction The advent of lightning fast computers in addition to the Internet, have allowed busy
professionals the opportunity to work from home with all the tools needed to be successful.
Creating an effective home office can be a time consuming and costly endeavor; however, with
proper planning, the task can be as simple and headache free as possible. An efficient home office
will include certain hardware components, a properly configured network connection in addition to
software to enhance productivity and secure your and security software and protocols to limit risk.

The speakers and microphone are built in as well. If I am working out of my home, no matter
what profession, my workspace will be limited. Therefore, I want to keep my equipment as
powerful and compact as possible. A basic model of this computer starts at $1799 (Apple Inc,
n.d.), which is a steep investment price. However, my personal experience with the reliability of
the computer makes the price worth it. The printer used in my home office will be the Canon
PIXMA MX922 All in One Printer (Canon U.S.A Inc., n.d.). I currently own this model for my
personal use and feel that it will be a satisfactory printer for home business needs as well. Any
bulk printing I would need done, I would send to a local office store or printing shop. Network
Configuration The iMac desktop computer comes equipped with a built in wireless card. This
card enables the computer to connect to a wireless Internet signal with no other computer based
hardware. Wireless Internet access is preferable to hardwired connections, as it reduces cord
clutter. I will utilize the Linksys EA6900 AC1900 Smart Wi Fi Wireless Router (Linksys, n.d.) to
actually convert my Internet signal into wireless. I have chosen this particular router because
PCMag.com described it as perfect for multi device home networks (Lynn, 2014) . As our home

Analysis Of The Poem Three Quatrains By Faiz Ahmed...
When one thinks about the country India the first thing that will come to their mind is their rich,
colorful clothes and animals that are part of their culture. Most do not think of the literature in
India, and how life is incorporated into their writing. A common theme throughout Indian literature
is life, and literary elements were used to reveal themes throughout their writing. A themeof pain in
the narrator s life was explained more to the reader through the use of personification, repetition,
and irony. These literary elements make the narrator s pain become more prominent and have more
of an impact on the reader.
Personification appeared often throughout Faiz Ahmed Faiz s poems. The use of personification

By using repetition it adds more meaning to how the narrator is feeling. There are places that have
sentimental value to the narrator, and the reader can see this through repetition. [G]ate is still
open and no gate opens the reader can tell that gates are have an important meaning to the
narrator since they are repeated (Faiz 551 552). Also since the gate is repeated in a positive and
a negative way, the reader can see the connection the narrator has with feeling pain and the gates.
The relationship the narrator has can be explained through repetition. The pain is greater than the
relationship, this night is the tree of pain, greater than you or me, and, this night, the tree of pain,
vaster than you or me ( Faiz 552). Since the narrator refers to the, night, the tree of pain , could
mean that the narrator has levels and parts of pain that are like branches of a tree. It also reveals
what causes pain for the narrator. My tormenter, my love, be near me shows the reader the narrator
had loved someone, but they left the narrator (Faiz 553 554). The pain will not be perfectly gone
unless the person the narrator loves is with him. Along with personification and repetition the
author used irony to show the theme of pain in the narrator.
Along with Faiz Ahmed Faiz using personification and repetition throughout his poems, he also
used irony. Irony is normally used in a

the novel for a variety of purposes. The phrase 124 was... is repeated at the beginning of each
section in order to illustrate the returning presence of the past as well as show the growing
influence of Beloved on Sethe and her family. The past and its lasting effects are heavily
emphasized in Belovedas the past holds painful memories for the characters of the novel. As the

Sethe sees the scar of where she cut Beloved s throat, she begins to spend time only with her

Race And Ethnic Stratification Research Paper
Essay 2: Race and Ethnic Stratification Research Paper
In 1957, Malaysia became an independent country and in 1964, President Lyndon B. Johnson
signed the Civil Rights Act. Within seven years, the two countries underwent critical
transformations from a history of systematic oppression to new freedoms. Both the United States
and Malaysia are comprised of multiple ethnicities, races, and dynamics that define their social and
economic relationships. Because of the timing of social and economic change, residual effects of
oppression influence the ability of both countries to lessen racial and ethnic inequalities. However,
similarities between racial and ethnic dynamics in the two countries end there. After independence,
Malaysian society was able to progress in a way that significantly reduced socioeconomic
stratification, while in the U.S., the progress was less notable. Much of this discrepancy is due to
the differences between ethnicity and race: in Malaysia, ethnic differences are complex and subtle,
making them easier to ignore or forget; in the U.S., racial distinctions are often as clear and rigid
as the difference between black and white, making significant and lasting progress more difficult to
achieve.
A number of reasons for this contrast between Malaysia and the U.S. will be discussed. For one
thing, the conditions succeeding from the U.S. racial climate did not favor African Americans in
terms of employment and status, whereas in Malaysia, independence had a

A New Way Of Distributed Or Cloud Computing
The very way of distributed or cloud computing is such that it enables organisations to influence
manpower, all the more rapidly and according to organisation needs. This is on the grounds that
distributed computing helps in distributing workloads across the organisation and can be
remotely accessed by end clients, regardless of their location. Organisations could even hire a
worldwide and, maybe, less expensive workforce when they use distributed computing.
Additionally, resources and staff can be immediately scaled up or down as indicated by the pace
of interest. This gives organisations a competitive edge wherein they can rapidly meet the
requests and expectations of their clients. We took a hybrid approach to migration and selected
different vendors and solutions for each business function, Bob Shirilla, Owner of Simply
Custom Bags. This allowed us to evaluate each solution based on the specific value it provides to
our business. For example, we selected an order management system that was already PCI
compliant. 4.3Disaster Recovery Files on individual laptops and desktops are susceptible to
security breaks that can antagonistically affect business. Break ins and thefts of individual
machines by hackers are very hazardous. The same sensitive data on the cloud is significantly more
protected and available from any location. Frequently the cloud suppliers have different backups for
the data. Most third party cloud encrypt information for improved security.

The doctrine of seven sacraments is accepted in the Greek Orthodox church, although no supreme
authority has ever limited the sacraments to that number. The central sacrament is the Eucharist;
the others are baptism, normally by immersion; confirmation, which follows baptism immediately in
the form of anointment with chrism; penance; Holy Orders; marriage; and anointment of the sick.
The Greek Orthodox church admits married men to the priesthood. Bishops, however, are elected
from among celibate or widowed clergy.
The Greek Orthodox religion differs for many other religions in that they express prayers and
worship with pictures. This central function of religious images, called icons, received its full
definition following the end of the iconoclastic movement in Byzantium (843). The iconoclasts
were looked upon as sacrilegious in that they resemble idols, which were prohibited in the old
testament . quot; The Orthodox theologians, on the other hand, based their arguments on the
specifically Christian doctrine of the incarnation: God is indeed invisible and indescribable in his
essence, but when the Son of God became man, he voluntarily assumed all the characteristics of
created nature, including describability quot;(Meyendorff 21).

The Bolsheviks and Marxism
Analyzing the Bolshevik State compared to Marxism can be difficult because Marx, Engels and
their followers gave relatively little thought to what the state would look like after a socialist
revolution. Engels famously wrote, the state is not abolished, it withers away, which highlights the
hazy and unfixed nature of Marx and Engle s writings on the ultimate, classless society they
envisioned. Further, what they did write is subject to the differing interpretations by numerous
socialist parties all claiming to be Marxist. As discussed earlier, Lenin claimed he simply reshaped
Marxismto fit the conditions of Russia. Others argue his interpretation was not true Marxism at all.
However, the basic principles of a socialist state in the eyes of Marx s are outlined in the
Communist Manifesto as follows: 1. Abolition of property in land and application of all rents of
land to public purposes.

2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.

3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance.

4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.

5. Centralization of credit in the hands of the state, by means of a national bank with State capital
and an exclusive monopoly.

6. Centralization of the means of communication and transport in the hands of the State.

7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the State; the bringing into
cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common
plan.

The Importance Of STEM Education
The importance of transforming STEM teacher s professional development (PD) for the middle
school is central to the standard based transformation of STEM education and knowledge based
competition of the global economy. Because the knowledge based competition of the 21st century
economy depends on the competitiveness of STEM education, improvement of STEM education
is a national call. In addition, the needs for improvements in K 12 science education align with the
needs for improvement in science teacher s PD. STEM jobs require higher creativity and
innovation, thus STEM teachers and educational leaders are expected to encourage creativity and
innovation in student learning regardless of barriers. Nevertheless, teachers are expected to
overcome all barriers in order to foster active learning by students (Michael, 2007). In general,
STEM education requires teacher s creativity and flexibility. This urges rethinking of the education
leaders and researchers about identifying effective professional development for STEM teachers.
STEM teacher s professional development is becoming much more important than ever for
mainly three reasons. First, according to recent U.S. Bureau of labor statics, STEM jobs are
growing faster than any other U.S. sector estimated increase by 17% by 2024. Giant technology
companies alone need to fill more than 650,000 new jobs by 2018. Nevertheless, U.S. lags by

What Are The Effects Of War In Lord Of The Flies
Mankind has destroyed a large amount its own species and much of the surrounding environment in

nature that has to come with doing so. William Goldings 1954 novel, Lord of the Flies, was written

Essay on Causes Of The Pelopenesian War
The Causes of the Peloponessian War
Ancient Greece during the 4th century B.C. was home to the city states of Sparta and Athens.
These two communities were the superpowers of the region during that time. The peloponnesian
war between these two states evolved out of a string of events that would lead to years of conflict.
When looking for a single cause of the peloponnesian war none can be found. Over time many
events contributed to the eventual war between Sparta and Athens. I believe the peloponnesian war
evolved because of Athenian support for Spartan enemies, Spartan alarm at a rise in Athenian power,
and the drastic differences between the two cultures. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Spartans were not eager for war.
After the Persian wars there was a development of Athenian control over the commercial and
economic life of Greece. This growth was caused by the Persian wars themselves. Athens faced a
mighty foe in Persia and therefore formed the Delian League. This league was an alliance of cities
based around Athens. Each city contributed funds to the construction and maintenance of a vast
navy for use against the Persian threat. After the wars Athens dominated the Delian league and
declared the contributions from each city mandatory even though the Persian menace was gone.
Over time these allied cities came under direct Athenian control and the Athenian Empire began to
grow. The large navy was still maintained after the war and Athens, already a naval power in the
region tightened its grip on the neighboring waters including those that surrounded the peloponnese.
This had the effect of enclosing Sparta s peninsula in a blanket of Athenian naval power. To the
Spartans this development was one of considerable worry. The historian Thucydides wrote; The
growth of the power of Athens, and the alarm which this inspired (in Sparta), made war inevitable.
This comment validates the seriousness of Spartan worry and its contribution to the sparking of the
peloponnesian war. Sparta s geography left it vulnerable in some ways. The

very smart market for retailers. The opportunity exists, but there is much more research and
planning that needed to be done before expansion began. Instead of adapting business operations
to the Japanese culture, the company essentially assumed the Japanese would readily adjust to
Wal Mart s. For example, in Japan there is a much larger need for local store customization.
Consumer buyer behavior is much different than in the United States, with purchasing patterns
and product selection varying greatly between regions. They have a trend to buy smaller
quantities in regular intervals rather than the more American idea of stocking up. Similarly, the
concept of large retail stores is foreign. Retailers with the highest growth rate are small specialty

The Limits Of My Language Are The Limits Of My World
History of Language
It is argued that the human species are a class of animal. However, the distinctive characteristic that
makes us unique, which makes humans different from all other species, is our ability to use
complex language. Language is thought of as multi sensory, containing not only the verbal and
writing, but also touch, smell, sound, and body elements. As humans are very social beings, people
have the natural instinct to connect and communicate with others, to share our emotions and ideas,
and as a result, learning a language becomes an instinct for each individual. Language is the
device used for communication, Ludwig Wittgenstein, an Austrian philosopher on language, said,
The limits of my language are the limits of my world . By this Wittgenstein implies that people
use just one language and therefore live in just one world, and if someone is not capable of using
the language, their world is narrowed. However, Albert Einstein had a conflicting opinion, he
cheapened the importance of language and said, The words of a language as they are written and
spoken do not seem to play any role in the mechanism of my thought. His quote shows that a

But before the creation of any writing system known to its speakers, the Indo European language
had died out. As Indo Europeans moved on from their ancestral homeland and brought forth new
generations, their language evolved, first into contrasting dialects, and then into equally complex
daughter languages. Ten proto language families are recognized today. In the centuries that
followed the Indo European proto languages themselves grew, each giving birth to its own family
of languages. Each family is recognized with the proto language from which it came

Examining Causes of School Violence and Solutions to the...
How many times have you or your children been victims of violence or intimidation and how
many times have you been left feeling abandoned, demoralized and full of despair because no
one will lift a finger to help. How many times have you seen the offenders caught and let off to
continue re offending in some instances? The truth of the matter is that we are all alone when it
comes to dealing with any form of aggressive behavior from children, especially in school. Did you
ever wonder why schools have so much violence? But people always want to know what really
cause children to fight and argue? It s really because children take violence into their own hands.

Since there are so many variables it can be difficult to recognize success or failure (weaver).
Secondly, what cause school violence? School violence is in the headlines again with the
shootings at Tennessee State University. After hearing news of campus shooting or other
violence, students no matter where they go to school might worry about whether this type of
incident could ever happen to them. It is rare that on campus violence takes place on the scale
of what happened at Tennessee State or Virginia Tech. But, why does school violence happen?
There is no single reason why students become violent. Some are copying behavior they grew
up with, or saw on the streets, or in video games, movies, or TV. Sometimes, people who turn
violent are victims of teasing who have hit a limit and feel like they would do anything to make
it stop. They may feel isolated and rejected by their peers, or have undergone a break up with a
romantic partner. There is one thing experts do agree on through: having access to guns or other
weapons makes it easier for some people to lash out against the things or people they do not like.
Or if you have witnessed or experienced violence of any kind, not talking about it can make
feelings build up inside and cause problems.
Most education theorists and practitioners agree that school

Evaluating the Appraisal Form Used by a Grocery Retailer...
We should be aware that there is no such thing as a universally correct appraisal form. In some
cases, a form may emphasize competencies and ignore results. This would be the case if the
system adopted a behavior as opposed to results approach to measuring performance. In other
words, the form may emphasize developmental issues and minimize, or even completely ignore,
both behaviors and results. In such cases, the form would be used for developmental purposes only
and not for administrative purposes. In spite of the large variability in terms of format and
components, there are certain desirable features that make appraisal forms particularly effective.
These features are simplicity, relevancy, descriptiveness, adaptability,

the organization adopts a behavior approach, this section of the form includes a definition of the
various competencies to be assessed, together with their behavioral indicators . According to
Aguinis, (2009, p. 85) the behavior approach emphasizes what employees do on the job and does

The Legacy of the First Black U.S. Supreme Court Justice The life of Thurgood Marshall and the

numerous things throughout his life that were persuasive to the administration. He did as well
as could be expected to end all racial isolation. He had worked inside the Supreme Court to end
the enduring legacy of subjection in the nation. He additionally worked for the benefit of
American culture (Haddock). Marshall was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on July 2, 1908. He
was the considerable grandson of a slave who was conceived in the advanced Democratic
Republic of the Congo; his granddad was likewise a slave. His unique name was Thoroughgood,
yet was in the end abbreviated to Thurgood in second grade since he disdained spelling it. His
dad, William Marshall, who was a railroad doorman, and his mom Norma, an instructor, imparted
in him a gratefulness for the United States Constitution and the standard of law (Brownworth).
In the wake of moving on from graduate school, Marshall began a private law firm in Baltimore.

The Pyrenees and the Sierra de Guara offer us the best conditions for the practice of canyoning in
Huesca.
Canyoning is done in narrow canyons cut into the bedrock stone, forming narrow gorges, in which
we gradually overcome the obstacles, and slopes and drops that we find along the way: whether
walking, jumping, swimming, abseiling or rappeling, sliding down, downclimbing, etc.
We jump to pools of crystalline water, slide by down slides that water and years have carved into
the rock. We will use ropes to descend with the abseiling (rappelling) technique.
To practice canyoning it is not necessary to have previous experience, and we have different
levels of difficulty for you to choose from, since we are in the best area for the practice of

Analysis Of Dalton Conley s Big Girls Don t Cry Essay
Music has had a huge influence on my life. I listen to music everywhere, in the car, on my way
to class, at the gym, etc. The reason I love music so much is because there are so many songs
about so many topics. When I found out that we were assigned to write an essay on a song that
we loved and relate to a real life issue that we read about in our text, I was excited. I love
analyzing the music I m listening to and making sure I know what the artist is talking about
rather than just blindly listening to the song. I chose to write about the song Big Girls Don t
Cry, by Fergie. I personally relate to this song because I went through a breakup in high school
and it was a very difficult time for me. I didn t cry but my whole support system of family and
friends expected me to. I think that this song relates to chapter eight in Dalton Conley s book You
May Ask Yourself very well. This chapter is about gender
and how the world perceives the idea of
gender and gender roles. In this song, Fergie describes a girl who has gone through a breakup.
This song relates to chapter eight very well because the gender section talks about how women
are expected to act and portray themselves. There is a lot of change happening in the country
about gender roles and gender stereotypes. People are trying to end gender roles, and expectations
of people just because of their gender. I felt that this song would be appropriate to write about
since gender issues are very prevalent today. Conley defines

Contraceptives And Birth Control
Contraceptives or birth control are methods that prevent unplanned pregnancies but are also used
promote family planning, reduce the spread of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and treat
cosmetic and gynecological conditions. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevent,
about 45% of all pregnancies in 2011 were unplanned in the United States, which was a 51%
decline since 2008.1 Of those about 50% resulted without birth controluse and the other half
reported using a method of birth control. In addition, of the 45% of unplanned pregnancies,
higher rates are seen in adolescents and ethnic minorities, which leads to an increase risk for
poor maternal and infant outcomes and an increase in abortions across the globe.2 According to
the World Health Organization (WHO), 16 million births to mothers aged 15 19 years old were
reported in 2008.3 This represented 11% of births worldwide and of these births 95% were in
developing countries.3 The 2014 World Health Statistics reported that the average global birth rate
for 15 19 year old girls is 4.9%, where the rates are the highest in sub Saharan Africa.4 Although
there is no universal trend toward early initiation of sexual activity, the higher rate of pregnancies
seen in teens, adolescents, and ethnic minorities can be related to cultural influences, gender and
social norms, lack of sexual and primary education, improper use of contraceptives, and/or the
restricted access of reproductive health care services.3

The Role Of Political Parties
Political parties have a big role in our government. Norton.com states A political party is a team
of politicians, activist, and voters whose goal is to win control of the government. There are two
types of political parties the most popular are the republicans and democrats. The second type of
political party is third parties. Popular third parties are the green and libertarian party. Political
parties have a big role in the government by their political views, by selecting candidates, mobilize
voters, and monitoring the opposing party. One of the political partys roles in the government is
sharing their political views. Every four years political parties write their party platform. A party
platform is a written document listing that parties views and beliefs. Candidates will run under
their party platforms views during an election. If the candidate is elected he or she will vote for
things in their favorable view. This means a government official will run the country under their
party platform, and they will vote for things in their favor and their party favor. Republicans are
pro life, against medical marijuana, and against LGBT laws. Democrats are pro choice, for
medical marijuana, and for LGBT laws. The two main parties have opposite views and beliefs
and that why their platforms are so different. Parties share their political views with the public to
gain support from people that share the same views and beliefs. Parties will also share the
opposing party s views to gain more support for people against those views. Political parties also
have to nominate candidates to run our country like the president and vice president. Political
parties have a big role in the government by selecting candidates. To select a candidate political
parties must go through a two step process recruiting and nominating candidates. Parties are looking
for someone that meets the requirements of the position that they are recruiting for, an unblemished
record, a credible candidate, and the ability to raise money. The next step in the process is
nominating a candidate. The party will nominate the candidate with a higher chance to win. A
candidate can be nominated at a convention or caucus, through the primaries, or

Similarities Between Constantine The Great And Qin Shihuangdi
Constantine was called Constantine the Great and Qin Shihuangdi was the emperor of the Qin
dynasty; each of these men was leaders of their country and each is similar and as much as they
may be similar in their title s they were different. Constantine the Great was a man that lead an
empire that persecuted Christians, which he later put an end to the persecution of Christians. Qin
Shihuangdi was a leader in his country, he had interests in magic, he dished out cruel punishments,
ruled with strict laws, and was believed to have created shrewd military policies. Each of these
leaders was seen as good leaders, however, they did use harsh methods to control their people and
rule their country. A tomb for Qin Shihuangdi was constructed, which had terracotta soldiers and
horses to protect his tomb (Hoh, 2001, p. 35). Constantine I, upon his death was buried in

Analysis Of The Poem Happy Valley
The Hyperthymestic Storyteller Outside of the desk, however, is the rest of the house, the
living place of both the owner of the camera, and the camera itself. It s a two story house, with
2,986 square feet of area, and a property of a quarter acre. In a greater context, the house is
located in Happy Valley, a suburb southeast of Portland, Oregon. A quick tour around the house
shows many objects that describe the people who live in the house: family pictures, a piano and
three violins, three cars, and Bible verses on the walls. Happy Valley is one of the wealthier
suburbs in all of Portland, with a median salary higher than West Linn or Lake Oswego: the
presence of three cars further exemplifies this. In such a wealthy community, having a quarter
acre house indicates that the owners of this house must be at least lower middle class or middle
class. The presence of the piano and violins, as well as some paintings on the wall, shows an
interest in arts, and with an entire bookcase of CDs, especially music. Looking at the pictures on
the refrigerator, it is clear that this is a family of four, with two boys. Finally, the presence of Bibles
around the house, as well as Bible verses hung on the walls are a testament to the Christian beliefs
of this family. This unassuming suburban home in America demonstrates many characteristics of
the previous society. Christianity is traditionally a western religion with its roots in Western Europe.

Stewart And Hurtado
Stewart (1998) examined the applications of feminist theories in personality research, stating how
the incorporation of these concepts may enrich our understanding, while helping us to overcome
our traditional individualism and universalism . In the second chapter of The Handbook of
Diversity in Feminist Psychology, Hurtado (2010) demonstrates many of the concepts discussed by
Stewart in this week s reading. One of Stewart s main points involves reframing one s own
perspective in order to better construct the researchquestion. She believed researchers often
construct research problems from the perspective of educated, middle class professionals and many
constructs measured have different meanings for participants with varying backgrounds (more
often idiosyncratic than concrete). Stewart advocates researchers analyze their own positions in
order understand the research problem more comprehensively. When discussing multicultural

Introduction
Business ethics has developed since the 1960s in the United States. Ethical dilemmas have changed
according to the economic environment. During the 2000s, financial failures happened more
frequently because of unprecedented economic growth. Nowadays, ethical dilemmas such as
financial mismanagement, international corruption, and companies promotional purpose are the
main reasons that some high profile companies such as Enron and Lehman Brothers collapsed. Due
to the allure of huge benefits, management is facing bigger ethical challenges than ever before
when making business decisions. Over the last two decades, business ethics has been troubled by a
lack of direction and has become entangled in its own logic (Donaldson, Dunfee, 1994, p.1).
Business ethics as self regulation helps us to distinguish between two things. What exactly we think

the corporate world. It takes responsibility, skill and determination to form a successful business of
any type. There are numerous areas within a business that need the skills of management. Control
of expenses, payroll, time management, and to initially raise capital to start a business all are areas
in which management has to play an important role. Any businesses main objective is to gain a
profit. A profit is the amount of money a business earns after all of it debts are paid. The field of
management is essential to organize the business in such a way that a profit is made. The business
start up is the most important piece of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One type of cost is called fixed cost. This type of cost is the expense of a business that does not
change and are always constant in a business. When money is made, debts are the first initiative to
be paid off. Fixed costs include rent, wages to employees, and equipment needed to produce you
good and or service. In for example a Flower shop, the fixed costs would be the rent on the
building, the payment of the delivery vans, and employee salaries. The other type of costs is
called variable cost. This type of cost is one that is ever changing. Again in a Flower shop the
variable costs would be a dozen roses. One week a dozen roses may cost the flower shop five
dollars to buy them and then they sell them for forty five dollars. Then the next week the price
of the roses my rise by five dollars now costing the flower shop ten so in order for the florist to
make the same amount of money as last week he needs to increase his price to the consumer
with the increase on price he is paying. The basic main idea of cost is to keep it as low as
possible to gain the highest profits. Determining the profit of a business is another major part of
management. Profit is the total income that you receive after paying all of your debts. All debts
include for example rent, wages, and interest. A general formula to calculate profit is P = R C.
This says when total revenue is subtracted from

How Did The Three Supreme Court Cases Influence The Civil...
Civil Rights Movement The Supreme Court both legalized segregation, and abolished segregation
for Blacks in America. When black slaves were freed, they still had unusually little rights; while
civil rights leaders like Martin Luther King Jr. pushed for equality for blacks, with peaceful
protests. Although were a few specific Supreme Court cases that were extremely influential for the
Civil Rights Movement. Three Supreme Court cases influenced the Civil Rights movement by
promoting or stopping segregation in schools and throughout society: Plessy v. Ferguson, Brown v.
Board of Education, and Swan v. Board of Education.
Specifically, the Supreme Court case of Plessy v. Ferguson was a major contributor to the civil
rights movement. The case was about Homer Plessy, that was jailed for sitting in a whites only car
on East Louisiana Railroad in 1892, because the segregated car was completely different
experiences. It eventually ruled that Plessy was in the wrong. In short, it created the need for the
civil rights movement, by legalizing public ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Board of Education was a case that helped stop segregation, especially in schools. This ruling is
considered one of the most important Supreme Court decisions in the twentieth century. The case
was brought on by NAACP lawyers because children were being segregated in unequal schools,
even though they did not truly know racism. Schools designated for blacks almost always
received less supplies than schools for whites. During the ruling, Chief Justice Earl Warren stated
that We conclude, unanimously, that in the field of public education the doctrine of separate but
equal has no place. Separate educational facilities are inherently unequal (Brown v. Board of
Education of Topeka). The Brown v. Board of Education case gave civil rights activists a glimpse
of hope, and it was enough to spark the whole civil rights movement, granted everyone knew it was

The Chandler Round Up
There is a variation in treating the immigrants through racial profiling. Such as the White people are
treated differently, but Mexicans are stopped and searched without a cause. The article concludes
the Chandler Roundup was a raid that violates civil rights of Hispanic immigrants. Likewise, the
author has used a case study to provide the evidence to support the points. In the evidence, the
writer describes a 1997 raid; the Chandler Roundup that raided Latinos based community in
Arizona. Furthermore, the author has used various other scholarly articles to support his arguments.
The evidence provided are based on facts that have occurred in the history. Yes, the measurement

Arguments were convincing to me because the evidence provided in the article helps the reader to
understand the materials as well as the evidence provided does not go beyond the topic of
argument. The argument was convincing because the author has provided evidence that has
occurred in the Latinos community that proves papers argument. In my point of view, the provided
evidence is sufficient to understand the argument made in the article. Similarly, the author has
talked about the immigrants facing difficulties in a new country, which is basically faced by every
immigrant of the world. The readers could take for granted are that the law enforcement are
violating the rights of Mexican or other Latinos. The article has discussed the African American
being racially discriminates as well as there are immigrants who are bilingual, have different cultural
practices are also at risk similar to Mexicans. In most of the cases, I agree with the author. However,
there is one thing that do not understand. The author mentioned Mexican immigrants,
undocumented are racially profiled as well as they were stopped and search without cause. I think
the law of the land does not support those who are an undocumented immigrant. Therefore, accept
the legal immigrants, the enforcement could take action against the undocumented immigrants. The
information provided helps me to understand that being a

Clockwork Orange And The Age Of Mechanical Reproduction...
Clockwork Orange and the Age of Mechanical Reproduction
For Walter Benjamin, the defining characteristic of modernity was mass assembly and production
of commodities, concomitant with this transformation of production is the destruction of tradition
and the mode of experience which depends upon that tradition. While the destruction of tradition
means the destruction of authenticity, of the originally, in that it also collapses the distance between
art and the masses it makes possible the liberation which capitalism both obscures and opposes.
While commodity fetishism represents the alienation away from use value and towards exchange
value, leading to the assembly line construction of the same as we see ... Show more content on

quot; The desire of the contemporary masses to bring things closer spatially and humanlyis just as
ardent as their bent toward overcoming the uniqueness of every reality by accepting its
reproduction. quot;
The fact of this desire for the reproduction over and above the original is precisely what
Horkheimer and Adorno believe is destroying culture, for contrary to Benjamin, Horkheimer and
Adorno assert that any emancipatory possibilities are re absorbed into capitalism, and fascism
turns out to be the midget in the Chess playing machine of capitalist oriented democracy. They set
out, like Poe in his article quot;Maelzel s chess player, quot; to show that capitalism has a hidden
motor and it is none other than fascism.
Benjamin s essay quot; The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction quot; provides us
with an outline of the history of the work of art and the historical changes, which have led to the
transformation of experience from Erfahrung to Erlebnis. It is only in the post modern or so called
post industrial age that the concept of autonomy handed down to us from Kant, among others,
begins to reveal it ideological nature. Benjamin s analysis of autonomous art not only destroys our
notions of the wholistic work, but also dispels the illusion of the artist as transcendental creator. Let

used the poem to tell people, or her family that you must speak the entire truth all the time, no

The Impact Of Privacy On The Workplace Field Of Human...
Employee privacy issues have surged to the forefront of the business press in recent years, spurred
on by changing workplace dynamics and a litigation conscious business environment. Observers say
that advances in telecommunications such as e mail and the Internet coupled with heightened
concerns about vulnerability to litigation, have exacerbated management concerns about
monitoring employee behavior. Indeed, employee privacyis already fairly restricted in many
respects in many of the large corporations. Privacy in the workplace is a controversial issue in the
field of Human Resource management as employers have more technologies available to
monitor telephones, computer terminals, and voice mail. This privacy issue has been fueled by
the increased use of a variety of electronic monitoring systems. Electronic monitoring is defined
as the computerized collection, storage, analysis, and reporting of information about employees
productive activities (Office of Technology Assessment, 1987, p. 27). Currently, as many as 26
million workers in the United States are monitored in their jobs, and this number will increase as
computers are used more and more within companies and as the cost of these monitoring systems
goes down (DeTienne, 1993, p. 33). Of those monitored, 10 million have their work evaluated and
pay based on the data collected (DeTienne, 1993). By the end of the decade, as many as 30 million
people may be constantly monitored in their jobs (DeTienne, 1993, p.

Historic Value Of The Oregon Historical District
The Oregon Historical District is a twelve city block area in Dayton, Ohio that is registered with
the National Register of Historic Places. This reasonably small area has both commercial and
residential land uses. Though mixed use space, commercial and residential, is seen as a modern
phenomenon, this area of land is quite old for an American city with the original plat recording in
1829. However, the homes in the area developed over a period of 100 years which allowed for them
to development with different architectural features with the most common being Classic Revival.
This different architectural development could also be seen throughout the business district.
Intriguing ideas held within the historic value of the Oregon Historical District are the ideas of
preservation and protection. Instead of requiring its residents to rehabilitate the homes to original
status the requirements are that the home look authentic and have the appeal of authenticity. The
aesthetic nature of the homes should be less museum like and more home like with the intention of
preserving the architectural character of the past. In 1975, the Oregon Historical District ratified a
Constitution with the most recent amendment in 2014. This Constitution requires that residents
that live within the twelve block radius of the district be part of the Oregon District Historic
Society. These residents are known as members and pay a yearly membership fee. There is a board
of trustees that consists of nine

Even though most prisons are very secure, they are nowhere near how secure Alcatraz was when

San Francisco Bay, California. While Alcatraz was open escapee Frank Lee Morris was one of the
very few who had attempted to escape and he supposedly made it out alive.
Alcatraz was the most secure prison on the planet. The walls, ceiling, and floor were made of

Some people who have made it out of the prison have tried to swim in the bay, but since they
were accustomed to warm waters they either died of hypothermia or drowned. If a prisoner was
found escaping, they usually were put in the hole, which is a cell that has a solid door to block
off all light. The cells in the hole have no bed, no blankets, no AC which made it cold. Prisoners
were not allowed to wear clothes except for boxer shorts. A day in the life of a prisoner at
Alcatraz is pretty tough. At 6:30 AM the prisoners woke up and tidied up their cells. At 6:45
they went to the mess hall to eat breakfast. Then around 7:25 guards took the inmates to their

Essay On Emergency Management
In the United States losses resulting from natural and man made disasters have increased
significantly due to catastrophic events. The natural and man made disasters facing the United
States can include acts of terrorism, wildland and urban fires, floods, hazardous material spills,
nuclear accidents, hurricanes, earthquakes, and more. Emergency managementis an essential role of
government. The US emergency managementis the organization and management of resources and
responsibilities in the attempt to reduce the harmful effects of disasters (FEMA, 2010). The
emergency management is based on phases of preparedness, mitigation, and recovery addressing
extreme events and disasters.
When individuals think of disasters, many may view such events as a complex interaction
between damaging physical events and its infrastructure, meaning the focus is on destroyed
buildings. However, natural and man made disasters only become disasters when people s lives
and livelihoods are swept away. However, in the event a disaster were to occur, whether man made
or naturally, being prepared potentially reduces the vulnerability to disaster. Preparedness
encompasses actions designed to build organizational resiliency for response to and recovery from
disaster impacts.
The Emergency Operation Plan (EOP) establishes a process and procedures for the context of the
emergency. Each jurisdiction develops an EOP that helps define the scope of preparedness and the
incident management activities

The Ivory Trade and the Slaughter of Elephants
The Ivory Trade and the Slaughter of Elephants
It is hard to equate an austere piano recital with the murder of hundreds of thousands of wild
animals. For that matter, it is equally as difficult to relate that horrific scene with my grandmother
s antique hairpins, but the fact of the matter is that the creamy ivory that is so cherished as a sign
of wealth, culture, and tradition is really the result of the work of poachers. How can those delicate
hairpins be the topic of international debate and black market trade? The answer is rooted in the
history of one of the world s oldest markets: the ivory trade.
Ivory is a form of dentin, the same material that is in human teeth. Since the time of the sixth
dynasty of ancient Egypt, ivory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Between the years of 1979 and 1989 the African elephant population had declined from 1.3
million to 625,000, and the price had doubled per kilogram (Nave 1). The ban shut down all legal
trade of the commodity, but black markets in ivory began to flourish. According to Kreuter,
poaching has increased in at least five of the nine countries studied by the African Elephant
Specialist Group in 1994. In a few countries, such as Zimbabwe, Zambia, and South Africa,
programs have been put in place to give people incentives to maintain the elephant population
(Kreuter 1). These incentives have placed a value on live elephants for the Africans who have
therefore helped to maintain the numbers of these endangered creatures.
The above mentioned programs are only in place in a few African countries. In many others, the
ban is an often side stepped nuisance in the illegal trade of ivory. Over the past several years, the
illegal ivory of over one thousand African and thirty nine Asian elephants has been recovered en
route to Japan alone. The ivory of over three thousand elephants has been recovered worldwide
(Kioko 1). In 1997, in an attempt to stop the illegal trade, MIKE (Monitoring of Illegal Killing of
Elephants) and ETIS (Elephant Trade Information System) have been organized. There efforts,
although well planned and well funded are still ineffective (Kioko 2). With continued funding and
support, the hope is that these organizations well be able to greatly reduce the

Literature Review On Relationship Marketing
After reviewing some of important literature journals, I found some interesting concepts that relate
to the concerned research topic. Some of the concepts are as follows:
Relationship Marketing According to Abeysekera and Kumaradeepan s study in the year 2012,
relationship marketing can be used as a strategy to race in the market. Relationship marketing has
been operationalized using the model of trust and commitment. The findings suggest a significant
difference in relationship marketing orientation in state bank and private bank. Private Banks can be
viewed as concerned with more relationship marketing than state banks.
On the other hand, S K Das in the year 2012 contradicts this study and observes that relationship
marketing is a progressing trend in today s time but due certain reasons and hesitations like
financial problems, danger of failure, marketing inertia, etc., many banks in today s world are still

Based on the findings, it was concluded that banks should concentrate on improving the value
perceptions of the customers by taking into concern the easy design of the services, service
perspective and compatibility of the services delivered.
Therefore, it can be concluded that the earlier research that has been done has limitations that
qualify our findings and present opportunities for further research. Not much research has been
done about the need of CRM in improving the performance of banks and creating a better
relationship with customers. For this reason, this research has been done so that more insights into
the topic could be identified. Moreover, the earlier research done on this topic could be used as an
important tool for further research.

The speakers and microphone are built in as well. If I am working out of my home, no matter what profession, my workspace will be limited. Therefore, I want to keep my equipment as powerful and compact as possible. A basic model of this computer starts at $1799 (Apple Inc, n.d.), which is a steep investment price. However, my personal experience with the reliability of the computer makes the price worth it. The printer used in my home office will be the Canon PIXMA MX922 All in One Printer (Canon U.S.A Inc., n.d.). I currently own this model for my personal use and feel that it will be a satisfactory printer for home business needs as well. Any bulk printing I would need done, I would send to a local office store or printing shop. Network Configuration The iMac desktop computer comes equipped with a built in wireless card. This card enables the computer to connect to a wireless Internet signal with no other computer based hardware. Wireless Internet access is preferable to hardwired connections, as it reduces cord clutter. I will utilize the Linksys EA6900 AC1900 Smart Wi Fi Wireless Router (Linksys, n.d.) to actually convert my Internet signal into wireless. • 3. Analysis Of The Poem Three Quatrains By Faiz Ahmed... When one thinks about the country India the first thing that will come to their mind is their rich, colorful clothes and animals that are part of their culture. Most do not think of the literature in India, and how life is incorporated into their writing. A common theme throughout Indian literature is life, and literary elements were used to reveal themes throughout their writing. A themeof pain in the narrator s life was explained more to the reader through the use of personification, repetition, and irony. These literary elements make the narrator s pain become more prominent and have more of an impact on the reader. Personification appeared often throughout Faiz Ahmed Faiz s poems. The use of personification throughout his poems ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By using repetition it adds more meaning to how the narrator is feeling. There are places that have sentimental value to the narrator, and the reader can see this through repetition. [G]ate is still open and no gate opens the reader can tell that gates are have an important meaning to the narrator since they are repeated (Faiz 551 552). Also since the gate is repeated in a positive and a negative way, the reader can see the connection the narrator has with feeling pain and the gates. The relationship the narrator has can be explained through repetition. The pain is greater than the relationship, this night is the tree of pain, greater than you or me, and, this night, the tree of pain, vaster than you or me ( Faiz 552). Since the narrator refers to the, night, the tree of pain , could mean that the narrator has levels and parts of pain that are like branches of a tree. It also reveals what causes pain for the narrator. My tormenter, my love, be near me shows the reader the narrator had loved someone, but they left the narrator (Faiz 553 554). The pain will not be perfectly gone unless the person the narrator loves is with him. Along with personification and repetition the author used irony to show the theme of pain in the narrator. Along with Faiz Ahmed Faiz using personification and repetition throughout his poems, he also used irony. Irony is normally used in a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act. Within seven years, the two countries underwent critical transformations from a history of systematic oppression to new freedoms. Both the United States and Malaysia are comprised of multiple ethnicities, races, and dynamics that define their social and economic relationships. Because of the timing of social and economic change, residual effects of oppression influence the ability of both countries to lessen racial and ethnic inequalities. However, similarities between racial and ethnic dynamics in the two countries end there. After independence, Malaysian society was able to progress in a way that significantly reduced socioeconomic stratification, while in the U.S., the progress was less notable. Much of this discrepancy is due to the differences between ethnicity and race: in Malaysia, ethnic differences are complex and subtle, making them easier to ignore or forget; in the U.S., racial distinctions are often as clear and rigid as the difference between black and white, making significant and lasting progress more difficult to achieve. A number of reasons for this contrast between Malaysia and the U.S. will be discussed. For one thing, the conditions succeeding from the U.S. racial climate did not favor African Americans in terms of employment and status, whereas in Malaysia, independence had a ... • 13. A New Way Of Distributed Or Cloud Computing The very way of distributed or cloud computing is such that it enables organisations to influence manpower, all the more rapidly and according to organisation needs. This is on the grounds that distributed computing helps in distributing workloads across the organisation and can be remotely accessed by end clients, regardless of their location. Organisations could even hire a worldwide and, maybe, less expensive workforce when they use distributed computing. Additionally, resources and staff can be immediately scaled up or down as indicated by the pace of interest. This gives organisations a competitive edge wherein they can rapidly meet the requests and expectations of their clients. The doctrine of seven sacraments is accepted in the Greek Orthodox church, although no supreme authority has ever limited the sacraments to that number. The central sacrament is the Eucharist; the others are baptism, normally by immersion; confirmation, which follows baptism immediately in the form of anointment with chrism; penance; Holy Orders; marriage; and anointment of the sick. The Greek Orthodox church admits married men to the priesthood. Bishops, however, are elected from among celibate or widowed clergy. The Greek Orthodox religion differs for many other religions in that they express prayers and worship with pictures. The iconoclasts were looked upon as sacrilegious in that they resemble idols, which were prohibited in the old testament . quot; The Orthodox theologians, on the other hand, based their arguments on the specifically Christian doctrine of the incarnation: God is indeed invisible and indescribable in his essence, but when the Son of God became man, he voluntarily assumed all the characteristics of created nature, including describability quot;(Meyendorff 21). • 15. The Bolsheviks and Marxism Analyzing the Bolshevik State compared to Marxism can be difficult because Marx, Engels and their followers gave relatively little thought to what the state would look like after a socialist revolution. Engels famously wrote, the state is not abolished, it withers away, which highlights the hazy and unfixed nature of Marx and Engle s writings on the ultimate, classless society they envisioned. Further, what they did write is subject to the differing interpretations by numerous socialist parties all claiming to be Marxist. As discussed earlier, Lenin claimed he simply reshaped Marxismto fit the conditions of Russia. Others argue his interpretation was not true Marxism at all. However, the basic principles of a socialist state in the eyes of Marx s are outlined in the Communist Manifesto as follows: 1. Abolition of property in land and application of all rents of land to public purposes.
 2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.
 3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance.
 4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.
 5. Centralization of credit in the hands of the state, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly.
 6. Centralization of the means of communication and transport in the hands of the State.

The Importance Of STEM Education The importance of transforming STEM teacher s professional development (PD) for the middle school is central to the standard based transformation of STEM education and knowledge based competition of the global economy. Because the knowledge based competition of the 21st century economy depends on the competitiveness of STEM education, improvement of STEM education is a national call. In addition, the needs for improvements in K 12 science education align with the needs for improvement in science teacher s PD. STEM jobs require higher creativity and innovation, thus STEM teachers and educational leaders are expected to encourage creativity and innovation in student learning regardless of barriers. Nevertheless, teachers are expected to overcome all barriers in order to foster active learning by students (Michael, 2007). In general, STEM education requires teacher s creativity and flexibility. This urges rethinking of the education leaders and researchers about identifying effective professional development for STEM teachers. These two communities were the superpowers of the region during that time. The peloponnesian war between these two states evolved out of a string of events that would lead to years of conflict. When looking for a single cause of the peloponnesian war none can be found. Over time many events contributed to the eventual war between Sparta and Athens. I believe the peloponnesian war evolved because of Athenian support for Spartan enemies, Spartan alarm at a rise in Athenian power, and the drastic differences between the two cultures. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Spartans were not eager for war. After the Persian wars there was a development of Athenian control over the commercial and economic life of Greece. This growth was caused by the Persian wars themselves. Athens faced a mighty foe in Persia and therefore formed the Delian League. This league was an alliance of cities based around Athens. Each city contributed funds to the construction and maintenance of a vast navy for use against the Persian threat. After the wars Athens dominated the Delian league and declared the contributions from each city mandatory even though the Persian menace was gone. Over time these allied cities came under direct Athenian control and the Athenian Empire began to grow. The large navy was still maintained after the war and Athens, already a naval power in the region tightened its grip on the neighboring waters including those that surrounded the peloponnese. This had the effect of enclosing Sparta s peninsula in a blanket of Athenian naval power. To the Spartans this development was one of considerable worry. The historian Thucydides wrote; The growth of the power of Athens, and the alarm which this inspired (in Sparta), made war inevitable. However, the distinctive characteristic that makes us unique, which makes humans different from all other species, is our ability to use complex language. Language is thought of as multi sensory, containing not only the verbal and writing, but also touch, smell, sound, and body elements. As humans are very social beings, people have the natural instinct to connect and communicate with others, to share our emotions and ideas, and as a result, learning a language becomes an instinct for each individual. Language is the device used for communication, Ludwig Wittgenstein, an Austrian philosopher on language, said, The limits of my language are the limits of my world . By this Wittgenstein implies that people use just one language and therefore live in just one world, and if someone is not capable of using the language, their world is narrowed. School violence is in the headlines again with the shootings at Tennessee State University. After hearing news of campus shooting or other violence, students no matter where they go to school might worry about whether this type of incident could ever happen to them. It is rare that on campus violence takes place on the scale of what happened at Tennessee State or Virginia Tech. But, why does school violence happen? There is no single reason why students become violent. Some are copying behavior they grew up with, or saw on the streets, or in video games, movies, or TV. Sometimes, people who turn violent are victims of teasing who have hit a limit and feel like they would do anything to make it stop. They may feel isolated and rejected by their peers, or have undergone a break up with a romantic partner. There is one thing experts do agree on through: having access to guns or other weapons makes it easier for some people to lash out against the things or people they do not like. Stewart And Hurtado Stewart (1998) examined the applications of feminist theories in personality research, stating how the incorporation of these concepts may enrich our understanding, while helping us to overcome our traditional individualism and universalism . In the second chapter of The Handbook of Diversity in Feminist Psychology, Hurtado (2010) demonstrates many of the concepts discussed by Stewart in this week s reading. One of Stewart s main points involves reframing one s own perspective in order to better construct the researchquestion. She believed researchers often construct research problems from the perspective of educated, middle class professionals and many constructs measured have different meanings for participants with varying backgrounds (more often idiosyncratic than concrete). Stewart advocates researchers analyze their own positions in order understand the research problem more comprehensively. When discussing multicultural feminist theory, Hurtado (2010) touches on alterations to research methods by implementing self reflexivity and states collaborating with additional authors, especially across academic disciplines, will broaden researcher s perspectives. The ban shut down all legal trade of the commodity, but black markets in ivory began to flourish. According to Kreuter, poaching has increased in at least five of the nine countries studied by the African Elephant Specialist Group in 1994. In a few countries, such as Zimbabwe, Zambia, and South Africa, programs have been put in place to give people incentives to maintain the elephant population (Kreuter 1). These incentives have placed a value on live elephants for the Africans who have therefore helped to maintain the numbers of these endangered creatures. The above mentioned programs are only in place in a few African countries. In many others, the ban is an often side stepped nuisance in the illegal trade of ivory. Over the past several years, the illegal ivory of over one thousand African and thirty nine Asian elephants has been recovered en route to Japan alone.
