Cloud Computing Essays
Writing an essay on the topic of "Cloud Computing" can be both challenging and rewarding. The
complexity of the subject requires a thorough understanding of various technical concepts,
ranging from virtualization and distributed computing to security protocols and networking
principles. Additionally, staying abreast of the rapidly evolving landscape of cloud computing
poses an extra layer of difficulty, as new technologies and trends continually emerge.
Crafting an effective essay on cloud computing demands a delicate balance between technical
depth and accessibility for a broader audience. One must convey intricate details while ensuring
that the content remains comprehensible to readers with varying levels of technical expertise.
Juggling these elements requires not only a firm grasp of the subject matter but also the ability to
articulate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
Moreover, a comprehensive essay on cloud computing should encompass both theoretical
concepts and practical applications. Analyzing real-world case studies, discussing the impact of
cloud technology on various industries, and evaluating the potential challenges and benefits
contribute to a well-rounded discussion. This interdisciplinary approach adds another layer of

Boyle s Conception Of Truth
How can we ascertain that a camera obscura, i.e. a darken box with a small hole
truly generate a projection of the world outside it? The philosopher and scientist
Robert Boyle s argued that truth is bound to the assurance of society, while RenГ©
Descartes, on the other hand, argued that we can trust empirical knowledge when it
appears to be clear and distinct to us. Thus, the following essay will discuss these two
conceptions of truth, starting with Boyle and then engaging with Descartes. Lastly, I
will argue and conclude that Boyle s approach is nowadays more prominent because
it better describes the mechanism in which we reach truth in the sciences practices.
While developing his experimental philosophy, Boyle recognized that with the birth
Comparing M. Valdemar, And The Masque Of The Red
Death
Edgar Allen Poe wrote a lot of ghost stories during the nineteenth century. Some
stories he wrote were The Black Cat, The Facts in the Case of M. Valdemar and
The Masque of the Red Death. In almost all of his ghost stories he has a first
person narrator telling a story, but in the The Masque of the Red Death it seems
like the story is told in third person omniscient. The story is about Prince Prospero
has a party with guests and thinking he will escape, the Red Death but at the end
Red Death comes and kills him and all the guests. When the reader looks at the use
of quotation marks, first person point of view and Prince Prospero s death at the
end of The Masque of the Red Death by Edgar Allen Poe, he sees the narrator is the
Red Death, which is important because the idea that Death tells the story of our lives
increases our fear. Poe starts the story by having quotation marks around the Red
Death but then he drops them after he introduces the first person point of... Show

There are only two people in the rooms which are Prince Prospero and Red Death,
and the guests are in the other room where they were having a party. The only
person who can tell us how prince dies is the Red Death. Prince Prospero cannot
tell us the story because he had died. The final place where he gives us the clue of
Red Death being the narrator is the last paragraph And now was acknowledged the
presence of the Red Death...... over all (Poe 14). In this paragraph, it describes what
happen to all guests and at the end it says that Red Death has the victory Red Death
held illimitable dominion over all (Poe 14). It means that the only person that is
living and can tell us the story is the Red Death
Child Care Settings
Over the last decades, there has been increasing concern in establishing of education
and care settings in Australia. This essay will introduce five key influences on the
establishing of education and care settings in Australia, the similarities and

current National Quality Framework (NQF).

The Commonwealth facilitated childcare by introducing standardized fee relief
for children in uncommercial center based long day care centers in 1984 (Social
Policy Group, 1997 98). Fee relief was the essential avenue through which the
Commonwealth funded childcare places and the purpose was to help low income
families or median income households with the expenses of quality child care
services (Social Policy Group, 1995). From 1985 to 1987, more childcare services
were provided, for example, approximately 11000 new center based long day care
places and 5650 family day care places were afforded (Social Policy Group, 1997

be benefited due to its strictly targeted nature (Social Policy Group,

The Domain Of Modeled Software Development And
Engineering
This thesis is written within the domain of modeled software development and
engineering . Through the use of Modeling Language when developing modern
computer systems gives the developers the feasibility of applying formal patterns and
symbols in an object oriented analysis and design (OOA/D) environment. Model
Driven Development (MDD) has, throughout the last years ago of tool and
technology development, developed into a solution for developers giving them the
ability to define a solution while creating artifacts that becomes part of the overall
solution.
The models created when designing a system can be used for diagram creation to,
e.g., communicate with different stakeholders and code generation while keeping the

I will use the general purpose modelling language Unified Modeling Language
(UML) [41] in our work which is a part of the OMG Model Driven Architecture
(MDA) [44]. UML is widely used by the industry and is regarded as a de facto
industry standard. UML is an available technology from the Object Management
Group (OMG). UML is currently in version 2.1.x which is the version that will be
used throughout this master thesis. Within the domain of model driven development
there are several interesting aspects to which we could have devoted this master
thesis. The one area of concern that is the subject of this thesis is consistency
checking of specifications with some sort of analysis and handling of the
inconsistencies found together with the development of a tool that realizes this
method. This is the subject of this thesis and will be discussed in depth together with
the presentation of the results from an experiment that was made using the
implemented tool.
2.1 Systems, models and diagrams
The terms system, metamodel, model and diagram commonly used within the
modelling domain. They are also used throughout this article and their use is defined
here. I will use the terms as they are used by OMG in the UML specification.

System is a set elements interacting with each other ,for a common purpose. The
system can also be defined as a set of Sub Systems associated with the environment
Comparing Christopher Columbus And Other Popular
Movies
I have watched a lot of movies while growing up, but never really paid attention to
who the person was behind all of the acting. Directors are a huge part in how
movies are made. They play the role of choosing cast members, production design,
and the creative aspects of the movie all lie in their hands. Not very many people
pay attention to all the work that goes into developing a film. I hardly know
anything about directors, and only know a select few of the more famous directors.
So, as I was searching through the internet trying to find names of directors that had
directed some of my favorite films I stumbled across one in particular named
Christopher Columbus, or more commonly known as Chris Columbus. Chris

Although this script was heavily rewritten by others for the screen, this piece got
Columbus foot in the big time door ( Chris Columbus 1). The next screenplay that
he had sold really got things going when he sold Gremlins, to legendary director
Steven Spielberg ( Columbus Biography 1). Columbus was a screenwriter for a lot
of other movies, but finally made his directors debut with the teen comedy
Adventures in Babysitting (1987) ( Columbus Biography 1). Then he went on to
direct the big hit movie Home Alone directed from a script by John Hughes, which
made incredible amounts of money and planted Columbus firmly on the
Hollywood A list ( Chris Columbus 1). He then went on to direct the sequal to
Home Alone and did Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992), which was not
nearly as successful as the first. Both movies are about a young boy left at home
trying to defend his home from burglars. His next big hit was the movie Mrs.
Doubtfire. A very hilarious, but touching story of a man who desperately tries to
spend time with his kids after his wife wants to get a divorce, so he disguises
himself as a nanny. The movies that Columbus was directing were all fun and games
until he decided to direct Harry Potter and the Sorcerer s Stone (2001) and Harry

Upon first glance of this image, a large shark is displayed that is enclosed in a
rectangular tunnel like space. It is unclear where exactly this space is located,
however it is most likely not in an aquarium because the space is too small and
there are no other fish, marine like organisms, or marine characteristics around the
shark. The shark is probably dead and preserved to be up on display because of the
way his mouth is open and because of the white paneling surrounding the space he
is confined to. Considering that the shark is in a museum, there must be something
remarkable or idiosyncratic about him, such as his size, breed, capabilities, or place
of death. Upon second glance of a more expansive display of this image, along with a

Human beings may attempt to understand his death and what it was like, however
could never really grasp or relate since their own death has not been reached. While
humans may mentally comprehend, relate to, and be able to view death of living
things around them, they are unable to completely know what it is physically like,
which is portrayed in Damien Hirst s work The Physical Impossibility of Death in the
Mind of Someone Living. The title of his work gives more meaning to the artwork
itself, which applies to titles of other pieces of art, poems, books, or movies, as
well. Many people say not to judge a book by its cover , which is actually partly
true. Giving the work a quick glance or just a look at the title is clearly not a fair
way to judge, however the title is important because it gives way to what the
creator was attempting to portray. The shark in the museum and its title both allow
people to decipher what the shark itself and the title mean in various ways;
however, if it was just the shark, the artist s purpose would definitely not be
depicted as well. At first glance, one may believe that the shark is in the museum
because of something special about him, such as his age or any other specialities.
Once the title is read, full meaning is given to the work and individuals see that the
artist actually created it to portray the reason that death is incomprehensible to living
individuals. The role of titles is not only important to
Captain Blood
In the novel Captain Blood written by Rafael Sabatini, he tells us a real life
experience of a slave escaping, becoming a pirate and eventually the governor of
the Jamaica. The novel is kind of like the modern day film Django Unchained. The
novel includes some fictionalized plot to keep it interesting but for the most part it
happened to someone, somewhere. Captain Blood, also known as Peter Blood, seeks
justice throughout the whole story even when he isn t supposed to. From an escaped
slave to a pirate and eventually a governor, Peter Blood seeks nothing more than
justice throughout his whole journey when most people would seek revenge.

Like England, Blood also didn t like the Spanish. Blood only attacked Spanish
ships at first. The Spanish were rich and it wasn t like he was stilling from the
poor. Bloods situation reminds me of the story Robin Hood. These two stories
share a similar theme, stealing from the rich and giving to the poor. Without
Blood, what do you think his crew would be doing? They would do what pirates
normally do: kill, rape and steal. Blood is actually saving lives by just being the
leader of his crew and keeping them under control. Blood, as far as we know. has
never killed for personal gain.
Captain Blood has all the justification he needs for the people that he has killed.
One victim Blood killed was a Spanish solider who was trying to rape a girl. I firmly
believe Captain Blood did what was necessary. I wouldn t want a person who tried
to rape a girl to walk on this earth either. He was helping a innocent girl who couldn
t defend herself. Captain Blood did what was right and he took justice into his own

Athena In The Iliad
Athena is one of the most loved and important goddess in Greece culture because she
represented strength, wisdom, and compassion. Athena was the daughter of Zeus and
was even considered one of his favorites. Zeus was the king of the god making
Athena a very important part of the Greek mythology as well. Athenaalso represented
wisdom and war, something that the Greeks held very close to them and even
considered war to be the ultimate honor. Athena s well rounded and honorable
personality is something they truly loved and respected her.
Athena represented her wisdom through battle. She was an expert in warfare, always
appearing on the battlefield to motivate and help her fellow Greek soldiers. In

Matthew- Christ The King. We Begin Our Survey Of The
Biblical
Matthew Christ the King
We begin our survey of the biblical theology of the New Testament with the Gospel
of Matthew and his focus on the Lordship of Christ and our need for repentance.
Christ s identity is the focus of this Gospel because His identity holds the key to His
claim to the throne of the kingdom. This question of Christ s identity is a recurring
theme in all of the Gospels, but it is especially poignant in Matthew s account as he
is asking the specific question: What proof is there that Jesus of Nazareth is the
Messiah? Matthew begins answering this question in chapter 1 with a genealogy of
the people of Israel from Abraham to David to Christ, showing that Christ has the

Christ then goes forth to call His first disciples: Peter, James, John, and Andrew.
Then, Mark goes on (1:21 2:12) to tell of certain miracles that Christ did in the
presence of His disciples to validify His authority and claims.
Then, Mark begins to change his focus for a while. He recounts when Christ called
Levi (that is, Matthew) to follow Him, and then, having given initial proof of
Christ s authority, Mark tells how Christ actually taught His disciples as they
encountered opposition (2:18 28). A similar pattern repeats throughout the book as
Mark recounts Christ teachings (3:7 4:34; 6:1 13; 7:1 30; 8:11 9:1; 9:30 10:45) and
the works that He did to verify them (3:1 6; 4:35 5:43; 6:30 56; 7:31 8:10; 9:2 29;
10:46 11:25).
This all culminates in the authority of Christ at last being challenged by the
Sadducees and Pharisees. Finally, Christ challenges their religious authority(12:1
44), gives His disciples His final exhortations (13:1 36), and eats His last Passover
with them before His death. Finally, Mark ends with Christ charging His disciples
to go and make disciples of all nations (16:15) and gives them the accompanying
signs to validate their preaching in the eyes of the world (16:17 18, 20).

This film cost $6 million to produce. It is based on a traditional fairytale type story
but subverted.
The film was produced by Dreamworks Steven Spielberg s production company.
Dreamworks make animated films. It has a rival animation company in the form of

We are astonished as the viewers as we were expecting a conventional fairytale.
There is a good use of toilet humour and it is aimed at children or teenagers. We
know right from the start that Shrek is a nice character as he has a comical impact
on the film. The sort of humour makes it different from normal, conventional
fairytales and also the big, ugly ogre would normally be a nasty creature but we
know straight away that this is not the case and he proves to be quite the contrary as
the story unfolds.
At the beginning of the film Shrek tries to threaten the characters that he meets, but
Donkey, the mice, the storybook characters and Princess Fiona are not intimidated by
him or his appearance. He tries to make them frightened by reminding them that he s
a scary, horrible monster. Although Shrek is an ogre he is really nice deep down.
When the storybook characters arrive Shrek threatens to throw them all out of his
swamp and back where they came from. There is a close up shot of his mouth, this
implicates that Shrek is going to eat them or kill them and enhances the threat.
Shrek tries to frighten them by threatening them, by shouting at them and the close up
shot of his mouth develops the idea that Shrek is trying to be scary. The storybook
characters applaud Shrek. Shrek s angry
Groupwork Reflection
Background
Groupwork is considered one of the important parts in Business Analytics, no matter
in professional study or in working career. To provide the similar experience, the
business analytics course in UNSW had set a groupwork task to analyze the business
blueprint for internet of thing (IoT) in different business domain. This individual
reflection will basically show the experience got from this groupwork process.
Overview of Teams Groupwork Journey
Once formed, the team had started the planning of the whole IoT groupwork, which
mainly consists of group assignment and presentation. Following the requirement of
lecturer, the team firstly discussed the possible domains that might broadly apply IoT
technology and sent an e mail to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Strengths Difficulties
During the process of working on the group assignment and presentation, it is
observed that the team has shown some good features of teamworking, which helped
us to finish the groupwork task in a higher quality and efficiency. These features
might include:
Schedule Planning and Management. One of the good points for the team is to
process the work schedule with flexibility and conscientiousness. For instance, before
taking the first group meeting, the team members had shared class and working
timetables so that the team could find the meeting time that all team members are
available and ensure the quality of meeting. Moreover, when booking the room at
meeting time, the team will book rooms for two more hours in case that the problem
might not be solved in the scheduled meeting time, which provides high flexibility for
the team.
Information Share Analysis. Another good point for the team is to share the
information and make analysis for multiple parts. Instead of fully distributing
assignment parts to each member, the team shared all the cases as well as articles
found to one independent folder, then thoroughly discussed the possibility to apply
these cases in different parts. Thus, the final group assignment had shown high
consistency on the content and the overall quality of our groupwork had been

The business problem at UnitedHealth Group is the high turnover of employees
because of lack of recognition and management of manpower. In part one, it was
determined that I use qualitative data. This methods chosen allows us to group the
data into the necessary categories. I determined that the research variable is
recognition and this would solve the issue of the high turnover rate.
Identify the types of descriptive statistics that might be best for summarizing the data,
if you were to collect a sample.
Descriptive statistics is the summary of important aspects of a data set (Jaggia
Kelly, 2014). To use descriptive statistics, I would use frequency distribution.
Frequency distribution of qualitative data groups the data into categories then
records the number of observations that fall into each category (Jaggia Kelly, 2014).
If I use ordinal data, it will allow us to categorize and rank the data. The data will
then enable us to determine if recognition will help the high turnover rate at
UnitedHealth Group.
Analyze the types of inferential statistics that might be best for analyzing the data, if
you were to collect a sample.
Inferential statistics is drawing conclusions of large data sets called a population
(Jaggia Kelly, 2014). To analyze inferential statistics, I use regression analysis.
Regression analysis is used to examine the relationship between two or more
variables (Jaggia Kelly, 2014).
General Solicitations And Sell Securities
General Solicitations in Rule 506D Securities To offer and sell securities in the
United States, an issuer must comply with the registration requirements of the
amended Securities Act of 1933, or must offer and sell the securities pursuant to
an exemption from the registration requirements. Rule 506 of Regulation D is
commonly used as a private offering exemption. In 2013 the SEC lifted the ban on
general solicitation or general advertising in specific private offerings of
securities. Considered the final rule , it represents a compromise in many respects.
Businesses who wish to raise funds will have greater opportunities for fulfilling
their goal with the lifting of the ban. However, compliance requirements must also
be satisfied in the process. The impact of the final rule on the requirements for
businesses seeking investment includes the following: The final rule doesn t apply
to all private securities offerings. Businesses are required to meet numerous
requirements such as selling only to accredited investors, taking logical steps to
verify each potential investor is accredited, and follow the other terms and
conditions of a Rule 506 securities offering. For example, issuers should realize that
nothing in the amendments to Rule 506 affect the obligation of the issuer utilizing
the safe harbor to make full and complete disclosure regarding the offering. All items
considered material regarding the offering are still required to be disclosed in writing
prior to the sale

at a very young age of 16. Throughout that hard time I just continued to not only

what happened to my family and I, and what we did to overcome it. April 1, 2007

This lady sat at our dining room table talking to me and my mother about how we
were going to sue the man who leased us this home because he was not the full
owner of the house. He had some privileges to the home but only financially. We
stopped paying our monthly bill for 3 months because foreclosure on the home would
mean a immediate termination of our contract. The owner of the home also told us
she came because the mortgage on the home had not been paid since May. So not
only was the partial owner of the home not informing us of his financial problem but
he did not pay the mortgage company the money we gave him and still to this day we
do not know where our money is. We soon heard from him around Christmas time
but not about the foreclosure. The conversation revolved around if he didn t get
his money what he would do to my family. We were threatened mentally and
physically to the point that we changed the locks and immediately started looking
for another home. We found out the situation we were in was a scam because we
did some research and noticed that we were not the first person he had approached
with the same offer but also who lost all of their money in the same home the same
way we were. A week before Christmas eve my family received a phone call from the
sheriff s office from a man who was extremely concerned about us. He is the one

Biological Macromolecule Polyhydroxybutyrate ( Phb )
ABSTRACT
The important biological macromolecule polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) producing
Bacillus subtilis was isolated from the sewage sample and identified by means of
16S rRNA analysis. The renewable nature and biodegradability of PHBs make them
suitable materials to replace synthetic plastics in many applications. Currently their
production is expensive, but these plastics are only in their first stage of commercial
development. In the present study the physico chemical parameters such as Time,
Temperature and pH were optimized for increased production of PHB. It was found
that maximum production of PHB was observed at 48th hour (328Вµg/ml) of
incubation time, temperature 370C (336Вµg/ml), pH 7.5 (362 Вµg/ml). The low cost
production media was developed using fruit peel extract and sugarcane industrial
waste. The amount of PHB produced using low cost production media in fruit peel
(234Вµg/ml) and industrial waste (218Вµg/ml). The PHB was characterized using
FTIR and NMR analysis.

The Causes And Effects Of Distracted Driving In California
Every year, about four hundred twenty one thousand people are injured in a car
crash involving distracted driving. In the United States alone, nine people are killed
and over one thousand are injured every day in a car accident involving a distracted
driver. Distracted driving is responsible for the majority of accidentsthat take place in
the state of California. The rapidly increasing rate of fatality occurring in California
proves distracted drivinghas become a fatal epidemic. Alike a disease that has the
ability to wipe out an entire population, distracted driving has proven to be equally as
devastating. Many people may argue that the laws currently in place in California is
all that can be done to eliminate or minimize the trauma that results from the issue.
Although, the thousands of people who have lost their loved ones to car accidents
involving a distracted driver would have to disagree. The state of California certainly
has not done enough to prevent distracted driving nor enforce punishment upon those
responsible. At first glance, many people believe that the state of California has done
enough to prevent distracted driving. California has multiple laws currently in effect
that prevent and limit distracted driving. California governor, Jerry Brown, has
addressed the issue that continues to escalate as fatalities multiply. He has stated his
opinions and plans for further prevention and action to be taken. Most recently,
Brown signed the Assembly Bill 1785 that

Released back in September, Mad Max is an open word, insanely fun game to play.
The game, developed by Avalanche Studios and released by WB Games, gets more
violent, exciting and exhilarating in every second. This is the complete Mad Max
Review from GamersDecide.
Fire! Blood! Violence! It s all there.
The Mad Max World
The players take on the role of Max Rockatansky, known as Mad Max, in a vast post
apocalyptic open world. It is very similar to the world seen in the Mad Max movies. It
is heavily inspired by Fury Road and everyone who have seen the movie would
appreciate the striking similarity. Mad Max
There is nothing in the world that is not worn down. Everything that you see has the
look of something ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In either of the two cases, you are left alone to fight. Most of the times, you won t
have any ammo, and hand to hand combat is the only way forward.
When you chain enough attacks and parries, you enter the Fury Mode, and Oh Boy!
It is fun to watch. During Fury Mode, Max s attacks do more damage and can chain
attacks with more efficiency. Crushing enemies in Fury Mode!
If, by chance, your enemy is able to make contact with you, the Fury Mode will
end. There are a number of optional achievements that can be achieved on Fury
Mode like a 15 and 20 hit streak. Perfect Parry!
So is Mad Max the best open world game out there?
So far in this Mad Max review, we ve only looked at the positives. But, that doesn t
mean that this game hasn t got any negatives. One very important thing that I look
into when I play a game is a storyline. Having watched Fury Road, I was having high
expectations about this game.
But, all my expectations went out the window when I started playing. Sure, this
game is a lot of fun to play with. But to play for around 30 to 40 hours just to collect
scrap for building a car is not my thing.
The side missions make up for most of the content and the story is just so weak. It
fails miserably to bring all the elements
The Four Literary Tools
The Top Ten Tools are the essential key to critically analyzing literature. With these
tools, including The Four Topos elements, The Three Matter of Facts, and The
Three Appeals, literature can be broken down into segments allowing the reader to
get a complete understanding of the purpose for that specific piece. Throughout the
course, we have navigated through various essays that could all be examples of
these top ten tools. However, certain essays better illustrate specific tools, which
can be used as examples to define the true meaning of a literary tool. Pertaining to
The Four Topos, the first literary tool of Definition can be defined as the displaying

The Three appeals define the idea of persuasion throughout a piece of literature.
Throughout an argument, the elements of Logos, Ethos and Pathos are present in
some fashion. The use of Logos focuses on the persuasion through evidence aspect.
An author who understands that they have the Matter of Fact and Policy on their
side typically uses logos. Logos is typically not something an author strives to use,
but is apparent to the reader. An example for a logos essay would be Susan
Brownmiller s essay, Let s Put Pornography Back in the Closet . One way that this
essay provides logos type qualities is by the clear reasoning that she gives, along with
the evidence she provides to defend her side. She effectively acknowledges the
opposing side of the argument as well as providing reasonable claims that address
specific cases such as the Miller v. California case in
Short Essay About Muay Thai
Muay Thai Philippines
What is Muay Thai?
Muay Thai is a kind of martial arts practiced not only in Thailand but in large parts
of the world including Southeast Asian countries. This kind of martial arts is quite
similar to some others kinds of martial arts prevailed in Southeast Asia like Pradal
serey in Cambodia, tomoi in Malaysia, Lao boxing in Laos and lethwei in
Mayanmar. Muay Thai is the national sport of Thailand and has a long history.
Traditional Muay Thai is quite similar to Western boxing in terms of using kicks and
punches with gloves in fights which make Muay Thai more significant from the
ancient art Muay Boran. Muay Thai is also known as The Art of the Eight Limbs
because of the extensively used of hands, shins, elbows, and knees in this type of
martial arts. The practitioners of Martial arts execute various types of fighting
styles including stand up strikes, clinches etc. Like many other disciplines of
martial arts, Muay Thai requires serious dedication and passion in order to learn
this combat sport. Muay Thai philosophy is very significant through turning the

A Discussion Of Herodotus And Alvar Nunez Cabeza De
Vaca
It s a New World
(A discussion of Herodotus, Cabeza de Vaca and their explorations)
When you stumble upon something new, what s your first instinct? Sharing the
information with others, soaking in the sight you re seeing, or even trying to
document everything that is in front of you. The discovery of new land, people,
and their way of life is one for the record books. An event like this will go down in
history, and so will the person that did the discovering. This was the case for
Herodotus and Alvar Nunez Cabeza De Vaca. Herodotus was born in Halicarnassus,
what today is known as turkey. He is considered by most to have been the first Greek
historian, therefore the first European historian. He was a great traveler, visiting ...

His travels lead him more around different parts of America and not different
countries. An article, titled ГЃlvar NГєГ±ez Cabeza de Vaca: The Great Pedestrian of
North and South America, briefly describes some of the whereabouts of Cabeza de
Vaca as he traveled around America. All five rafts eventually wrecked along the
coast of Texas... Soon Cabeza de Vaca was traveling into the southeastern Texas
mainland... Cabeza de Vaca and the other castaways decided to escape their Indian
captors and marched south and west hoping to find their Spanish compatriots in
central Mexico, (ГЃlvar NГєГ±ez Cabeza de Vaca: The Great Pedestrian of North
and South America). From this portion of the article, it is understood that Cabeza
de Vaca did traveling, just as Herodotus did. Both men were also known for their
firsts. Cabeza de Vaca was one of the first to visit America and stay with the tribes
that inhabited land. Also one of the first from his country to document what he had
seen while there. Herodotus was also known for his firsts. Scott W. Nixon, in his
article, elaborates on this. Herodotus, is thought of as the first Greek and thereby the
first Western historian...Those who did archaeological exploration in Egypt and
Mesopotamia found Herodotus writings on these subjects useful, (Nixon). His first
were very important not only for that time but for people in the future as well. Nixon
continues by saying, His writings also became valuable to biblical scholars in their
Impact of Movies
IMPACT OF MOVIES
THE THREE BIG LIES
The three lies that often movies and movie makers say .....
1. It s only entertainment. It does not influence anybody.
2. We just reflect reality. Don t blame us; blame the society.
3. We give the public what it wants. If people don t like it they can always turn it off.
IMPACT OF
Among all media, movies play a major role in impacting the thinking pattern of the
society. The question is whether the influence is positive or negative?
As we all know if a super duper movie is released today then, tomorrow there will be
a great demand of dress of the actor which he wore in the movie. Day after tomorrow
people will start coping the styles in which he talks, walks and behaves. This all

Studies are finding that boys, like girls, may turn to smoking to lose weight. Even
the Bollywood/Hollywood fashion has a huge impact on the youth. When
youngsters see their favorite actors/actresses wearing fashionable clothes and
accessories they imitate them. So, to copy their style icons, they spend thousands
to lakhs of rupees to have the same pair of shoes or dress. They don t mind
spending money, but they want to look just as perfect as their favorite movie star.
In this way the fashion statements set by celebrities lay a negative impact on
youngsters. ALCOHOL, DRUGS, SMOKING: Movies are spoiling the youth and
children most because there is the competition between youths to copy the style of
the hero either it was good or bad. Children who watch a lot of movies featuring
alcohol are twice as likely to start drinking compared to other kids who watch
relatively few of such films, according to new research. The more smoking and
drinking that young teens see in movies, the more likely they are to start smoking
or binge drink, according to a pair of new studies. To find out more about movies
influence on alcohol use in young teens, researchers surveyed more than 16,000
adolescents ages 10 to 19. They randomly picked 50 box office hits from a list of 655
films. They then asked the teens how often they had seen each movie, which was
color coded for scenes of alcohol use. Overall, 86 percent

Diagnosing Change: Six Box Organizational Model The Six box Organizational
Model is one of the oldest models developed, by Marvin Weisbord. Weisbord
examined two key elements of organizational life; task and process. There are six
variables; purpose, structure, relationship, rewards, helping mechanism, and

of the Kmart stores into Sears due to location, this would fall under structure.
Relationship: this is a huge part of the merger. The relationship of the two leadership

there would be dysfunction within the company. With defining the leadership right
off, differently helped the relationship of the two companies coming together. It
allowed for clear communication with the employees on who would be in charge and
an idea of the direction they were heading for the future.
Rewards: I didn t find much on a rewards or incentives for the merger only that it
would rank them third in retail companies. This may be an area in which the
company lacked, and may have pushed them to the verge of closing now.
Helpful mechanism: I feel that they had a strong direction on with this area for the
six box model, because they are were much defined on how things were going to be.
They had transition for the headquarters to be in Chicago but also leaving the Kmart
headquarters in Troy, MI. It showed that there would be a support system still in
place for the Kmart employees and customers.
Leadership: I really like what Kmart and Sears did with their leadership. I think that
they were very fair on how they placed people. Lampert not becoming the chairmen

Book Review of The Classic Slum Essay
The book The Classic Slum: Salford Life in the First Quarter of the Century by
Robert Roberts gives an honest account of a village in Manchester in the first 25
years of the 20th century. The title is a reference to a description used by Friedrich
Engels to describe the area in his book Conditions of the Working Class. The
University of Manchester Press first published Roberts book in the year 1971. The
more recent publication by Penguin Books contains 254 pages, including the
appendices. The author gives a firsthand description of the extreme povertythat

Roberts organizes his book based on certain themes, such as culture and day to day
life, paying special attention to the pre and post War periods so as to emphasize
the evolution of the slum throughout the period of time covered. He divides it into
chapters that cover specific aspects of society and day to day life in order to
accentuate certain points. His writing style is a unique and well chosen blend of
personal reminiscences and historical research. Much of his writing, including his
own experiences, is presented in a very matter of fact way. The impact this style
has on the reader is great because he is able to state such horrors so bluntly, as only
someone who was truly there can. Occasionally, however, his emotions break
through, as is evident in his explanation of his parents separation and subsequent
death on page 238. Lastly, the work is scholarly and concise, as Roberts chooses to
get straight to the point and elaborate on it rather than saying the same thing in many
different ways.
The book is far from a complete history and instead focuses on one specific sector of
British history, the plight of the poor in early 20th century Manchester. Three main
points seems to fight their way to the forefront, as they drive the direction and tone
of the book. The first main point stressed is the elaborate and complex social
stratification. Roberts says on the first page, I grew up in what was perhaps an ideal

Is It Safe Or Unhealthy To Alter Sex Organs
At birth, a newborn is brought out into a new world outside the comforts of their
mother s womb and nearly each one has their sex characteristics examined by an
obstetrician. A gender identity is given to them based on their physical
characteristics in which they are most often than not, expected to carry for the rest
of their lives, for better or for worse. From early on in their lives, their caregivers may

The Theory Of Consumer Behaviour
One of the biggest theories within the field of consumer behaviour is the theory that
people buy for status that products bring them; often buying products not for that they
do by instead the connotations behind the product (Solomon and Rabolt (DATE),
with Cave (2001) stating that products have a symbolic purpose, giving the consumer
a sense of identity, with consumers believing that the purxhase will allow themselves
to be perceived differently by other people.
Survey results showed that a substantial amount of people had made purchases from
luxury brand with 51% of respondents having made purchases from Chanel, and 43%
from Yves Saint Laurent. As well as this many had made purchases outside of the
realm of cosmetics with only 20% stating that they had not made any luxury
purchases. Dubois and Paternault (DATE) state that only a minority of consumers
buy luxury names that they do not know, this was reflected when asked what luxury
cosmetics brands were participants aware off; the most popular being Chanel, Yves
Saint Laurent and Dior with the three same brands ranking at the top three for the
most cosmetics purchases. Distinctive logos and packaging make it more likely that
consumers will be cued by a sight of a product (Cave, 2001, p.37). When queried
about the hypothsis that consumer enjoy the environment of a product more than the
product itself, interviewees gave similar responses; Participant A felt that consumers

Analysis Of Aliens By James Cameron
It takes absolute courage to stare death in the face, stand and fight, especially when
death has no actual face. Aliens, written and directed by James Cameron, follows a
former pilot, a group of marines and a corporate stiff as they go to investigate why
they have lost communication with a colony of people on a planet that the
corporation is trying to develop an atmosphere on. The investigation soon turns into a
fight for survival and escape, as the colony has been overrun by aliensand is now their

of the influences of mung bean starch (MS) on the physiochemical properties of rice

substitutions, 0%, 2%, 5% and 8% for experimentations. With increase MS content in
the mixture, the results showed increase in amylose content, rate of retrogradation,

The authors pointed out corporation of MS and RF significantly influenced the

based on the texture properties and sensory evaluation, elevating MS content

The Impacts of Population Growth
Throughout human history, population growth is one of the most important topics
brought into discussion. Globally, there are about 7.2 billion people in the world,
and it will rise up to 11 billion or more by the 21st century (Brown). When we look
back in the history, population growth has been so slow as to be imperceptible within
a single generation, Reaching a globally population of 1 billion in 1804 required the
entire time since the humans appeared on the scene. To add the second billion, it
took until 1927, just over 100 years. Thirty three years later, in 1960, world population

However, I would more rather believe that our ecological systems will self fix the
population problems as the natural resource pressure and social pressure increase.
The capacity of natural resources is one of the most essential information to
indicate how many people would fit in this planet. Aquifers and river basins are
two of the natural water resources that to supply drinking water, industry and
agricultural irrigation. In the analysis report of the water supply and demand in
the Colorado River Basin, water use from the Colorado River Basin has tripled
since 1923, and started passing beyond the amount of water supply in 2000
(Katel). Since then, the reserved river resources became imbalanced and started
decreasing every year. The rapidly growth of population and impropriated human
activities are two of the main reasons that destroy the pervious balancing
ecosystem. With the population growth increasing, the world will consume more
water, grain, and food, and creating more wastes than before. In fact, there are
around 70% of accessible fresh water to use globally in agricultural businesses and
to produce grain to feed people and livestock, but 60% of this is wasted due to the
leaky irrigation system and inefficient application of methods as
Informative Essay On Pablo Escobar
Pablo Escobar was born at Rionegro, Columbia on December 1, 1949. He was
brought up from a good working class family in Medellin, Columbia. Although, he
wasn t very wealthy. His mother was an elementary school teacher and his father

personally do admire and respect the people that were on the hunt for Pablo
Escobar. It was a dangerous mission, that they could have been killed any day.
Thankfully they didn t. It was so unbelievable on how much money Pablo was
making in a year, especially in a MONTH! They presented pictures on how much
cocaine was found in one laboratory, out of hundreds of them. The labs is where
they would pack the cocaine in plastic bags. Also, the ways on how they would
smuggle the cocaine were unbelievable. Who would have ever thought of looking
in a fruit for drugs? That was really impressive. The way how he would have people
killed was extremely viscous! People s bodies would be tortured and ripped apart. I
personally would never have the heart to do that to anyone, even if I did not like
them. Pablo was a man with no compassion and remorse. Then Pablo was in prison

Being Original Is More Important Than Fitting In Essay
Lauren Willcox ,a famous writer, once said, Being original is more important than
fitting in, especially if you have to change to fit in. This quote demonstrates how
fitting in and being original is a daily struggle amongst people. Along with fitting
in many people judge others before looking at their point of view or learning the
struggles they may be facing. Taking a walk in someone s else s shoes or seeing
their point of view may turn a negative situation into a positive one. A past
experience of mine has resurfaced in my head and allowed me to realize the other
person s perspective on the situation.
It all started on a sunny day in August three days before my freshman year in high
school. The pure fear and anxiousness of high school had kept me up all night. A

Being such a necessary and overused resource makes it a hotly contested subject
and global issue. The United States is one of the biggest importers and users of oil
in the world, which makes our need of it a major influence on several global
markets. Our heavy reliance on dirty fuels, as well as every other industrialized
country in the world, will lead to massive effects on the climate of our Earth. This
in addition, has led to violence and war, particularly in the Middle East, over the
ownership and distribution of oil and other energy resources, which in the end only
serves to profit big oil industries. This problem will not stop or slow down, as the
demand for energy will only increase as the world s population and global economy
continues to expand. For mainly these reasons, which will be handled more in depth
throughout this paper, the need for clean alternative energy is paramount and must be
addressed within the foreseeable future should we otherwise suffer the consequences.
In 2014, the United States within that year used about 7 billion barrels of petroleum

some part of the Western Hemisphere. Although our dependence on importing
petroleum has been on a decline (since 2005) we are still the
Reacting To An Unfair Government In Henry David
Thoreau s...
Reacting to an Unfair Government Without a job, without a source of income,
without a way to provide oneself with the necessities, how would one survive in life?
It is stated in Henry David Thoreau s essay, Resistance to Civil Government, that the
reaction to an unfair government is to remove oneself from office if the government
violates the moral human law and rebel/revolutionize against the government. This
is clear in the following quote, All machines have their friction; ...But when the
friction comes to have its machine, and oppression and robbery are organized, I
say, let us not have such a machine any longer. In other words, when ...a nation
which has undertaken to be the refuge of liberty are slaves, and a whole country is
unjustly overrun and conquered by a foreign army, ..., I think that it is not too soon
for honest men to rebel and revolutionize. However, rebelling could result in losing a
government position which is leaving an occupation and that leads to serious
consequences for the person involved. This thought stemmed from Thoreau after he
was jailed for not paying taxes to the state. Thoreau did not support the Mexican
American war and disliked the fact that the government supported slavery. Since he
broke the law, he was forced to stay overnight in jail. Thoreau believed if the law
violated the human conscience, then one should follow his conscience over the law.
Why has every man a conscience, then? I think that we should be men

Majority Party Advantages
The majority party has many advantages when it comes to lawmaking, not including
the numerical advantage the majority party has in floor voting. One advantage the
majority party has, is they control the House Rules Committee. The House Rules
Committee has significant power throughout the legislation process. They determine
which bills will be brought to the floor of the House for consideration and whether
amendments will be allowed on a bill when it is debated by the entire House. For
example, the House Rules Committee could make a decision to immediately put a
bill on the House schedule and decide that the bill will not have any debate time.
Another advantage the majority party has is they choose the speaker of the house. For
instance, the Speaker of the House appoints select committees and refers bills to
committees, and as the presiding officer they decide the order in which business is
conducted throughout the day. In addition, to these advantages is the fact that the
majority party holds majority on each committee. This means the majority party holds
a majority of seats on standing committees, which in turn makes passing the majority
parties legislation that much easier.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, simply because a bill passed one chamber does not mean it will pass the
other. For instance, the House has a Rules committee which can stop the passage of a
bill in the House as it may not abide by the rules of the committee. Another example
is the filibuster. The Senate is allowed filibusters talking a bill a death, whereas the
House is not. Equally as important, is the unanimous consent agreement. The Senate
can ease passage of a bill with unanimous consent agreements, while the House has no
such mechanism. Accordingly, these are just a few differences between the House
and the Senate that make it likely legislation will pass in one chamber, but not the
The Hero s Journey In The Odyssey
A Hero s Journey is one of the first stories introduced to the world through Homer s
epic tale, The Odyssey . Many movies, books and stories have used Homer s tale as
a sort of template such as, Bilbo Baggins in Lord Of The Rings, Dorothy Gale In
The Wizard Of Oz, Harry Potter Harry Potter Franchise and many more . In the
article A Hero With A Thousand Faces By Joseph Campbell, It has all the stages and
elements that a hero must go through like, The Call To Adventure, Refusal Of The

obstacles that will make him/her stronger. When the hero goes home after finishing
their quest, another journey could begin. In the article, It states Years of research led

Importance Of Police Powers On Stop And Search
Police powers on stop and search
In England a police officer has the power to stop and search without making an
arrest if they have reasonable grounds to suspect you are carrying illegal drugs, a
weapon, stolen property or anything which could be used to commit a crime. Also
a police officer can conduct a stop and search without reasonable grounds if he has
been authorised to do so by a senior officer. See section 60 of the criminal justice
and public order act and schedule 7 of the terrorism act 2000.These provisions
have since come under much criticism as many argue that the practice lacks clarity,
gives room for racial discrimination, grossly conflicts with ECHR and deprives
people of their liberties and rights. In a bid to curtail the misuse of stop and search
powers and provide a vital balance between the power of the state and individual
freedom the Parliament set out some guidelines i.e. PACE codes of practice (Code A)
With the use of relevant case Law I will assess police stop and search powers, section

legitimacy and appropriateness to determine whether the PACE codes of practice

Reasons The Roman Empire Crumble
The Main reasons the Roman Empire Crumbled
The Roman Empire was one of the greatest empires in that era until something
major happened. The Roman military became lazy because of how much freedom
the citizens got in their life with the Huns. So what were the key reasons on how
the Roman Empire to crumble? Rome crumbled because of its military problems
in the army, foreign invasions that attacked Rome, and their poor political
leadership in the government. Of these, the most important reason was poor
political leadership in the government. Problems in the military such as armor and
loss of soldier because the Roman Emperor told his troops, that it was an option
not to wear breastplates and not to do parade drills. These poor decisions from the
Roman government and empire lead to Rome became taken over by the Huns. But
the Roman citizens became overjoyed when the Huns took over, this led Rome
crumble. Roman foot soldiers were a key part of the military, but before the year 400
CE, Roman foot soldiers became negligent and lazy. Eventually, the foot soldiers
abandoned parade ground drills (Document B). This hurts the military and the Roman
empire, but it became worse when the foot soldiers asked the emperor to set aside
breastplates, and then their helmets (Document B). When these changes took place,
the soldiers of Rome fought the Goths without any protection for their chests and
heads, which often made the soldiers vulnerable to archers as the foot soldiers died

How Garcia Girls Lost Their Accents Essay
How the Garcia girls lost their accents by Julia Alvarez talks about the four girls
fleeing to the united states after their father s attempt to overthrow dictator is
undiscovered. They arrived in Brooklyn, New York to a life totally different from
the one back home where their name inspired respect and had dozens of maids
serving them fine foods in silverware, but had to live in fear of uncles disappearing
by the hand of the secret police. In the new world their parents try to hold onto their
old traditions, but the girls have a different idea and instead try to find new lives for
themselves but find themselves caught between the old and the new world. The novel
tells their struggle to fit in and to express/communicate themselves. The story is all
about one of the many aspects of the immigrant experience; language barrier and the
power of word/being able to express oneself. The book is extremely popular among
Hispanic immigrants for its relatableness. Although an unpopular opinion, I wouldn t
recommend Millennials to read the novel because its complex storyline, poor

They keep getting younger throughout the book so that at the end they were kids
back in their homeland, the Dominican Republic. The author did this to make the
reader experience the book as an immigrant; always going back to their homeland,
however it can make it difficult to follow through. There are also some poor
transitions between stories, Such as in Trespass , Carla was sexually harassed by a
pervert in a lime green car on her way home from school and her struggle to tell the
police what happened while the next chapter is a two page story about the first time
Yolanda saw snow and her thinking the snowflakes were
Problems Faced With Airport Security
When tragedy struck the nation on September 11th, the minor problem of airport
security breeches suddenly became one of the biggest concerns facing our nation.
Ever since the late 1980s there had been many promises and plans to shape up airport
security, but according to experts there has been little, if any, real improvement in
public safety since that time (Morris 28). Its obvious to assume that because of the
lack of improvement, great tragedy struck our nation on September 11th. Since
September 11th there has been great attempts in fixing the problems that we face with
airportsecurity, but yet there are still breaches in airport security, we are still not safe.
There are several factors behind the problems with airport security; they range from
inadequate machinery used, to poorly trained screeners. A proposal needs to be
raised, one that would seal up the remaining gaps that we still face regarding the
issue of airport security.
Due to all the complicated factors that we have to deal with in regards to airport
security, a proposal will be raised. With the proper precautions, the events of
September 11th could have been prevented. The question raised is, what are the
problems with airport security? The issue rather complex involves three main areas;
they include policy, technology, and personnel. The main problem is the personnel,
and it starts with the screeners. A screener is someone who stands watch as travelers
put their items on the X ray conveyor belt (schwartz
The Formation Of Acc And Its Conversion Into Ethylene
The evolution of ACC also brings about the production of 5Вў methylthioadenosine
nine. Increase in the rate of respiration of the fruit gives ATP (Adenosine
triphosphate) need for the methionine cycle and can lead to induced ethylene
production without high levels of intracellular methionine. SAM is a crucial methyl
giver and relates to numerous aspects of cellular metabolism. Thus, the two steps
involved in the synthesis of ethyleneis the formation of ACC and its conversion into
ethylene. The genes encoding ACS and ACO have therefore been studied more
deeply than other enzymes in the pathway, although there is proof that a few other
genes concerned with methionine synthesis and methionine salvage pathway are
differentially demonstrated throughout ripeningand in response to ethylene (Alba
and others 2005; Zegzouti and others 1999). ACS and ACO are encoded by
multigene families in higher plants, with tomato having at most nine ACS
(LEACS1A, LEACS1B, and LEACS2 8) and п¬Ѓve ACO (LEACO1 5) genes (Barry
and others 1996; Nakatsuka and others 1998; Oetiker and others 1997; Van der
Hoeven and others 2002; Zarembinski and Theologis 1994). Expression survey has
disclosed that at least four ACS (LEACS1A, LEACS2, LEACS4, LEACS6) and
three ACO (LEACO1, LEACO3, LEACO4) genes are differentially shown in tomato
fruit(Barry and others 1996, 2000; Nakatsuka and others 1998; Rottmann and others
1991). LEACO1, LEACO3, andLEACO4 are shown at low levels in green fruits that

Theme Struggle For Mastery In The Call Of The Wild
He went from being a nice, helpful, caring dog to being a mean killer when that call
came. He killed lots of different animals when he listened to the call. In the novel
The Call of the Wild written by Jack London there is a character named Buck who
lived in California. He was sold many different times and was taught how to pull the
sled by Francois and Perrault. There are many people who buy a dognamed buck and
when Buck is with his masters Francois and Perrault he has a problem with one of
the dogs named Spitz. Bucks problem was that he wasn t the leader he needed to
be the leader. He had learned many lessons in the first couple days. One of the
lessons that he learned was to never got knocked down in a fight. The theme
Struggle for mastery is shown a lot throughout the book The Call of the Wild like
when buck gets jealous that he isn t the leader and Spitz is. Which ends up with
spitz dead. In the novel The Call of the Wild the theme struggle for mastery is
shown throughout the book many times. The theme struggle for mastery was
shown in the book when Buck fights Spitz. Buck was leader where he was from
and that s they way he was used to living. His teeth closed on Spitz s left fore leg.
There was a crunch of breaking bone, and the white dog faced him on three legs.
Thrice he tried to knock him over, then repeated the trick and broke the right fore
leg. Despite the pain and helplessness, Spitz struggled madly to keep up. He saw the

answer is simple, the National Resources Defense (NRD) has tested the coastand as
stated by Congressman John Carney the tests showed that Delaware s beaches
have again been lauded for having the cleanest water quality in the nation. Both the
beaches of Rehoboth and Dewey were again awarded 5 star ratings as Superstar

butcher . The first murder began on August 31st, 1888 when the body of a 42 year
old woman Mary Ann Nicholls was discovered in Bucks Row with her throat cut
twice and stomach hacked open. This signified the start of this serial murder. The
second victim Annie Chapman, a 47 year old prostitute, was then found died on

Lady Windermere disagrees with her husband s opinion that you and she belong to
different world with an impressive argument: Lady Windermere. What are called
good women may have terrible things in them, mad moods of recklessness, assertion,
jealousy, sin. Bad women, as they are termed, may have in them sorrow, repentance,
pity, sacrifice. Society has never given Mrs. Erlynne a chance to make up her mistake.
Such unfair standard motivates Mrs. Erlynne to leave England. From this issue
expressed through literature, concerning humanity, I believe we citizens should fight
against inequality in our Victorian society. There are no good or bad
Argumentative Essay On Plastic Bags
The Plastic Bag Takeover As the United States deals with the overwhelming amounts
of waste building up, Nitin et al explain that plastics take anywhere from 15 to 1000
years to biodegrade once they are discarded (Nitin). Changes in recycling methods
can no longer keep up with the exorbitant amount of wasteproduced in the United
States. This is why some states choose to take their initiative one step further by
placing either fees or a ban on the use of plastic bags. Due to the enormous waste the
United States produces on a daily basis and the negative outcomes of this trash
including adverse health effects, harmful impacts on nature, and the exponential
piling of trash in landfills, the US government should ban plastic bags.
When citizens discard plastic bags in the outdoors, they unknowingly contribute to
the spreading of powerful illnesses. Through the pooling of rainwater, thrown away
bags contribute to the transmission of mosquito born illnesses, such as Malaria
(Trilling). Given the wet, warm environment that a littered plastic bag provides,
mosquitoes receive the ideal setting they need to breed. With increased mosquito
breeding, American s are left more susceptible to harmful illnesses. One simple way
to reduce the littering of plastic bags, is to make plastic bags harder to access in the
first place. Additionally, the creation of plastic bags commonly involves many
harmful chemicals that in turn play a role in causing detrimental health effects and
conditions. Substances in plastic products designed to enhance performance, and
make them desirable to consumers, often contain harmful ingredients (Ecology
Center). Plastic bags are a commonly overlooked destructive item that might
contribute to health problems. When foods are packaged alongside plastic,
chemicals migrate from the plastic packaging to the foods, one example being the
chemical Polyethylene, a substance suspected to be a carcinogen (Ecology Center).
The government has a duty to protect its citizens and one form of protection is
keeping people away from especially harmful chemicals and substances. The only
way to ensure citizens do not come into contact with these harmful substances on a
daily basis through plastic bags is to ban them
White Circle Tucker
The White Circle is a very interesting story about a boy named Tucker who has a
brother call Anvil. Tucker gets mad at Anvil for eating apples from his apple tree
and Tucker tries to kill Anvil. Anvil gets mad and runs away from Tucker and does
not come back. So, how is the White CIrcle about justice? In the White Circle
Tucker has more power than Anvil because Tucker has his Old Man (father) on his
side and the Old Man hates Anvil but loves Tucker. They don t hate you I lied.
Anyway I don t hate you (Clayton). This sentence that was used in the white circle
shows that Tucker also like Anvil a times and that not everyone hated him. Tucker
also wanted to kill Anvil at times when Anvil was acting bad. In the White Circle
when Tucker was trying to kill Anvil with the fork, Tucker showed that he cared
more about his apple tree than he did about Anvil. Although Tucker comes from a
better family than Anvil, Tucker still can can have an evil mind at times.Tucker
comes from a better family because he uses more proper words, but Anvil comes
from a worse or less educated family because he uses more slang language in his
words. In the story Anvil climbs the apple tree to eat the apples because he was
starving and needed to eat but Hammer was reacted in a really selfish way.... Show

In the story there are thirteen apples on the apple tree and the number thirteen is
considered an unlucky number and can show that something unlucky or bad will
happen just because of the apples. Even the name of the story The White CIrcle is
a symbol of hell or evil and is often used as a satanic symbol. The apple could relate
to Adam and Eve and how the first sin was made and could be used as a sign of
temptation to do something that is
Canada s Role In The First World War
During the wars, Canada made a name for itself due to its contribution to both
world war one and world war two. In the events of Canada s last hundred days, the
battle of the Atlantic as well as The Normandy campaign, Canada played a crucial
role in all of them. Canada ultimately helped the allied forces in their success. Near
the end of world war 1, it was known as Canadas last hundred days because of the
involvement the Canadians had in France. The Battle of Amiens was just the first
string in many victories that helped win the first world war. In July 1918, Allied
forces held a better position on Europe s western front. With united states, troops
pouring in for reinforcement commanders of the allied forces decided to switch from
defence to offence and push out the German army.
The attacking force made up of the Canadian Corps, the British Fourth Army, the
French First Army, the Australian Corps and others; tricked the Germans by
appearing to weaken their front line so that German officers expected no assault.
Known as the black day in Germany, the Canadians pushed the Germans back 12 km.

Can you believe that in 1869 Russian Chemist Dimitri Mendeleev arranged the
chemical elements by atomic mass and started the development of the periodic

order based on physics. Before all the naturally occurring elements were discovered
the periodic table was used to predict chemical and physical properties of elements

elements yet to be discovered. It can also be used to predict types of chemical

  • 2. Boyle s Conception Of Truth How can we ascertain that a camera obscura, i.e. a darken box with a small hole truly generate a projection of the world outside it? The philosopher and scientist Robert Boyle s argued that truth is bound to the assurance of society, while RenГ© Descartes, on the other hand, argued that we can trust empirical knowledge when it appears to be clear and distinct to us. Thus, the following essay will discuss these two conceptions of truth, starting with Boyle and then engaging with Descartes. Lastly, I will argue and conclude that Boyle s approach is nowadays more prominent because it better describes the mechanism in which we reach truth in the sciences practices. While developing his experimental philosophy, Boyle recognized that with the birth
  • 3. Comparing M. Valdemar, And The Masque Of The Red Death Edgar Allen Poe wrote a lot of ghost stories during the nineteenth century. Some stories he wrote were The Black Cat, The Facts in the Case of M. Valdemar and The Masque of the Red Death. In almost all of his ghost stories he has a first person narrator telling a story, but in the The Masque of the Red Death it seems like the story is told in third person omniscient. The story is about Prince Prospero has a party with guests and thinking he will escape, the Red Death but at the end Red Death comes and kills him and all the guests. When the reader looks at the use of quotation marks, first person point of view and Prince Prospero s death at the end of The Masque of the Red Death by Edgar Allen Poe, he sees the narrator is the Red Death, which is important because the idea that Death tells the story of our lives increases our fear. Poe starts the story by having quotation marks around the Red Death but then he drops them after he introduces the first person point of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are only two people in the rooms which are Prince Prospero and Red Death, and the guests are in the other room where they were having a party. The only person who can tell us how prince dies is the Red Death. Prince Prospero cannot tell us the story because he had died. The final place where he gives us the clue of Red Death being the narrator is the last paragraph And now was acknowledged the presence of the Red Death...... over all (Poe 14). In this paragraph, it describes what happen to all guests and at the end it says that Red Death has the victory Red Death held illimitable dominion over all (Poe 14). It means that the only person that is living and can tell us the story is the Red Death
  • 4. Child Care Settings Over the last decades, there has been increasing concern in establishing of education and care settings in Australia. This essay will introduce five key influences on the establishing of education and care settings in Australia, the similarities and differences between the Quality Improvement Accreditation System (QIAS) and the current National Quality Framework (NQF). Maybanke Anderson and Lillian de Lissa as well as other people were pioneer who led the movement to early childhood education and care in Australia (Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development [OECD], 2000). The Commonwealth facilitated childcare by introducing standardized fee relief for children in uncommercial center based long day care centers in 1984 (Social Policy Group, 1997 98). Fee relief was the essential avenue through which the Commonwealth funded childcare places and the purpose was to help low income families or median income households with the expenses of quality child care services (Social Policy Group, 1995). From 1985 to 1987, more childcare services were provided, for example, approximately 11000 new center based long day care places and 5650 family day care places were afforded (Social Policy Group, 1997 98). The Childcare Assistance ensured that parents on low and middle incomes could be benefited due to its strictly targeted nature (Social Policy Group,

Beginners Guide to Essay Writing As many of my fellow batch mates are facing the writer s block in completing Essay I decided to write this guide to help them, so that they can put to best use the last few days they have with their family members (current and would be). No detail is unnecessary and no information trivial unless you have crossed the word limit. 11. Anyone from IT industry will know the importance of reuse of work already done by you or someone else does, even if that reuse meant copy paste and portraying it as new effort and billing the client for the same. Use that approach in your answers. For example answer question 9 properly and you do not need to answer question 15 again. All you will need is a trimming of 50 words. 12. I have skipped question 13 as I had no intention of creating an imaginary situation in my pretty normal and straight forward life of 24 years which would have asked me to act in a non traditional way. In case you feel you can do it, then you are most welcome. 13. When the whole world is for gender equality we as future managers should not lag behind. Bring gender equality in your answers. When you are referring to a third person use him or her, he or she instead of just him and he. 14. If you were not a part of any social or cultural organization then you cannot skip question 14. Through the use of Modeling Language when developing modern computer systems gives the developers the feasibility of applying formal patterns and symbols in an object oriented analysis and design (OOA/D) environment. Model Driven Development (MDD) has, throughout the last years ago of tool and technology development, developed into a solution for developers giving them the ability to define a solution while creating artifacts that becomes part of the overall solution. The models created when designing a system can be used for diagram creation to, e.g., communicate with different stakeholders and code generation while keeping the history of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I will use the general purpose modelling language Unified Modeling Language (UML) [41] in our work which is a part of the OMG Model Driven Architecture (MDA) [44]. UML is widely used by the industry and is regarded as a de facto industry standard. UML is an available technology from the Object Management Group (OMG). UML is currently in version 2.1.x which is the version that will be used throughout this master thesis. Within the domain of model driven development there are several interesting aspects to which we could have devoted this master thesis. The one area of concern that is the subject of this thesis is consistency checking of specifications with some sort of analysis and handling of the inconsistencies found together with the development of a tool that realizes this method. This is the subject of this thesis and will be discussed in depth together with the presentation of the results from an experiment that was made using the implemented tool. 2.1 Systems, models and diagrams The terms system, metamodel, model and diagram commonly used within the modelling domain. They are also used throughout this article and their use is defined here. I will use the terms as they are used by OMG in the UML specification. 2.1.1 System System is a set elements interacting with each other ,for a common purpose. The system can also be defined as a set of Sub Systems associated with the environment
  • 7. Comparing Christopher Columbus And Other Popular Movies I have watched a lot of movies while growing up, but never really paid attention to who the person was behind all of the acting. Directors are a huge part in how movies are made. They play the role of choosing cast members, production design, and the creative aspects of the movie all lie in their hands. Not very many people pay attention to all the work that goes into developing a film. I hardly know anything about directors, and only know a select few of the more famous directors. So, as I was searching through the internet trying to find names of directors that had directed some of my favorite films I stumbled across one in particular named Christopher Columbus, or more commonly known as Chris Columbus. Chris Columbus is a very well known... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although this script was heavily rewritten by others for the screen, this piece got Columbus foot in the big time door ( Chris Columbus 1). The next screenplay that he had sold really got things going when he sold Gremlins, to legendary director Steven Spielberg ( Columbus Biography 1). Columbus was a screenwriter for a lot of other movies, but finally made his directors debut with the teen comedy Adventures in Babysitting (1987) ( Columbus Biography 1). Then he went on to direct the big hit movie Home Alone directed from a script by John Hughes, which made incredible amounts of money and planted Columbus firmly on the Hollywood A list ( Chris Columbus 1). He then went on to direct the sequal to Home Alone and did Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992), which was not nearly as successful as the first. Both movies are about a young boy left at home trying to defend his home from burglars. His next big hit was the movie Mrs. Doubtfire. A very hilarious, but touching story of a man who desperately tries to spend time with his kids after his wife wants to get a divorce, so he disguises himself as a nanny. The movies that Columbus was directing were all fun and games until he decided to direct Harry Potter and the Sorcerer s Stone (2001) and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

It is unclear where exactly this space is located, however it is most likely not in an aquarium because the space is too small and there are no other fish, marine like organisms, or marine characteristics around the shark. The shark is probably dead and preserved to be up on display because of the way his mouth is open and because of the white paneling surrounding the space he is confined to. Considering that the shark is in a museum, there must be something remarkable or idiosyncratic about him, such as his size, breed, capabilities, or place of death. Human beings may attempt to understand his death and what it was like, however could never really grasp or relate since their own death has not been reached. While humans may mentally comprehend, relate to, and be able to view death of living things around them, they are unable to completely know what it is physically like, which is portrayed in Damien Hirst s work The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living. The title of his work gives more meaning to the artwork itself, which applies to titles of other pieces of art, poems, books, or movies, as well. Many people say not to judge a book by its cover , which is actually partly true. Giving the work a quick glance or just a look at the title is clearly not a fair way to judge, however the title is important because it gives way to what the creator was attempting to portray. The shark in the museum and its title both allow people to decipher what the shark itself and the title mean in various ways; however, if it was just the shark, the artist s purpose would definitely not be depicted as well. At first glance, one may believe that the shark is in the museum because of something special about him, such as his age or any other specialities. Once the title is read, full meaning is given to the work and individuals see that the artist actually created it to portray the reason that death is incomprehensible to living individuals. The role of titles is not only important to
  • 9. Captain Blood In the novel Captain Blood written by Rafael Sabatini, he tells us a real life experience of a slave escaping, becoming a pirate and eventually the governor of the Jamaica. The novel is kind of like the modern day film Django Unchained. The novel includes some fictionalized plot to keep it interesting but for the most part it happened to someone, somewhere. Captain Blood, also known as Peter Blood, seeks justice throughout the whole story even when he isn t supposed to. From an escaped slave to a pirate and eventually a governor, Peter Blood seeks nothing more than justice throughout his whole journey when most people would seek revenge. Blood only attacked Spanish ships at first. The Spanish were rich and it wasn t like he was stilling from the poor. Bloods situation reminds me of the story Robin Hood. These two stories share a similar theme, stealing from the rich and giving to the poor. Without Blood, what do you think his crew would be doing? They would do what pirates normally do: kill, rape and steal. Blood is actually saving lives by just being the leader of his crew and keeping them under control. Blood, as far as we know. has never killed for personal gain. Captain Blood has all the justification he needs for the people that he has killed. One victim Blood killed was a Spanish solider who was trying to rape a girl. I firmly believe Captain Blood did what was necessary. I wouldn t want a person who tried to rape a girl to walk on this earth either. He was helping a innocent girl who couldn t defend herself. Captain Blood did what was right and he took justice into his own

Video games, TV, and movies have been a sought after target for acts of violence. After the Columbine shooting, the media thrust the idea that Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold s tendency for violent video games, not to mention screamo music and somewhat goth subculture, were partly to blame for the terrible day in history. Approximately 90 percent of kids in the U.S. play video games, and more than 90 percent of those games involve mature content that includes violence. (Time Health). The link between violent media and aggression in video games has also created a spawn of research studies that has gone back and forth on the issue of whether

  • 13. Matthew- Christ The King. We Begin Our Survey Of The Biblical Matthew Christ the King We begin our survey of the biblical theology of the New Testament with the Gospel of Matthew and his focus on the Lordship of Christ and our need for repentance. Christ s identity is the focus of this Gospel because His identity holds the key to His claim to the throne of the kingdom. This question of Christ s identity is a recurring theme in all of the Gospels, but it is especially poignant in Matthew s account as he is asking the specific question: What proof is there that Jesus of Nazareth is the Messiah? Matthew begins answering this question in chapter 1 with a genealogy of the people of Israel from Abraham to David to Christ, showing that Christ has the blood and legal right to the throne of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Christ then goes forth to call His first disciples: Peter, James, John, and Andrew. Then, Mark goes on (1:21 2:12) to tell of certain miracles that Christ did in the presence of His disciples to validify His authority and claims. Then, Mark begins to change his focus for a while. He recounts when Christ called Levi (that is, Matthew) to follow Him, and then, having given initial proof of Christ s authority, Mark tells how Christ actually taught His disciples as they encountered opposition (2:18 28). A similar pattern repeats throughout the book as Mark recounts Christ teachings (3:7 4:34; 6:1 13; 7:1 30; 8:11 9:1; 9:30 10:45) and the works that He did to verify them (3:1 6; 4:35 5:43; 6:30 56; 7:31 8:10; 9:2 29; 10:46 11:25). This all culminates in the authority of Christ at last being challenged by the Sadducees and Pharisees. Finally, Christ challenges their religious authority(12:1 44), gives His disciples His final exhortations (13:1 36), and eats His last Passover with them before His death. Finally, Mark ends with Christ charging His disciples to go and make disciples of all nations (16:15) and gives them the accompanying signs to validate their preaching in the eyes of the world (16:17 18, 20). I will also explore the different presentational devices used by the film creators of Shrek to craft an unusual fairytale. This film cost $6 million to produce. It is based on a traditional fairytale type story but subverted. The film was produced by Dreamworks Steven Spielberg s production company. Dreamworks make animated films. We are astonished as the viewers as we were expecting a conventional fairytale. There is a good use of toilet humour and it is aimed at children or teenagers. We know right from the start that Shrek is a nice character as he has a comical impact on the film. The sort of humour makes it different from normal, conventional fairytales and also the big, ugly ogre would normally be a nasty creature but we know straight away that this is not the case and he proves to be quite the contrary as the story unfolds. At the beginning of the film Shrek tries to threaten the characters that he meets, but Donkey, the mice, the storybook characters and Princess Fiona are not intimidated by him or his appearance. He tries to make them frightened by reminding them that he s a scary, horrible monster. Although Shrek is an ogre he is really nice deep down. When the storybook characters arrive Shrek threatens to throw them all out of his swamp and back where they came from. There is a close up shot of his mouth, this implicates that Shrek is going to eat them or kill them and enhances the threat. Shrek tries to frighten them by threatening them, by shouting at them and the close up shot of his mouth develops the idea that Shrek is trying to be scary. The storybook characters applaud Shrek. To provide the similar experience, the business analytics course in UNSW had set a groupwork task to analyze the business blueprint for internet of thing (IoT) in different business domain. This individual reflection will basically show the experience got from this groupwork process. Strengths Difficulties During the process of working on the group assignment and presentation, it is observed that the team has shown some good features of teamworking, which helped us to finish the groupwork task in a higher quality and efficiency. These features might include: Schedule Planning and Management. One of the good points for the team is to process the work schedule with flexibility and conscientiousness. For instance, before taking the first group meeting, the team members had shared class and working timetables so that the team could find the meeting time that all team members are available and ensure the quality of meeting. Moreover, when booking the room at meeting time, the team will book rooms for two more hours in case that the problem might not be solved in the scheduled meeting time, which provides high flexibility for the team. Information Share Analysis. Another good point for the team is to share the information and make analysis for multiple parts. Instead of fully distributing assignment parts to each member, the team shared all the cases as well as articles found to one independent folder, then thoroughly discussed the possibility to apply these cases in different parts. Thus, the final group assignment had shown high consistency on the content and the overall quality of our groupwork had been

Business Decision Making Project, Part 2 Business Decision Making Project, Part 2 The business problem at UnitedHealth Group is the high turnover of employees because of lack of recognition and management of manpower. In part one, it was determined that I use qualitative data. This methods chosen allows us to group the data into the necessary categories. I determined that the research variable is recognition and this would solve the issue of the high turnover rate. Identify the types of descriptive statistics that might be best for summarizing the data, if you were to collect a sample. Descriptive statistics is the summary of important aspects of a data set (Jaggia Kelly, 2014). To use descriptive statistics, I would use frequency distribution. Frequency distribution of qualitative data groups the data into categories then records the number of observations that fall into each category (Jaggia Kelly, 2014). If I use ordinal data, it will allow us to categorize and rank the data. The data will then enable us to determine if recognition will help the high turnover rate at UnitedHealth Group. Analyze the types of inferential statistics that might be best for analyzing the data, if you were to collect a sample. Inferential statistics is drawing conclusions of large data sets called a population (Jaggia Kelly, 2014). To analyze inferential statistics, I use regression analysis. Regression analysis is used to examine the relationship between two or more variables (Jaggia Kelly, 2014).

General Solicitations And Sell Securities General Solicitations in Rule 506D Securities To offer and sell securities in the United States, an issuer must comply with the registration requirements of the amended Securities Act of 1933, or must offer and sell the securities pursuant to an exemption from the registration requirements. Rule 506 of Regulation D is commonly used as a private offering exemption. In 2013 the SEC lifted the ban on general solicitation or general advertising in specific private offerings of securities. Considered the final rule , it represents a compromise in many respects. Businesses who wish to raise funds will have greater opportunities for fulfilling their goal with the lifting of the ban. However, compliance requirements must also be satisfied in the process. The impact of the final rule on the requirements for businesses seeking investment includes the following: The final rule doesn t apply to all private securities offerings. Businesses are required to meet numerous requirements such as selling only to accredited investors, taking logical steps to verify each potential investor is accredited, and follow the other terms and conditions of a Rule 506 securities offering. For example, issuers should realize that nothing in the amendments to Rule 506 affect the obligation of the issuer utilizing the safe harbor to make full and complete disclosure regarding the offering. All items considered material regarding the offering are still required to be disclosed in writing prior to the sale

Throughout that hard time I just continued to not only motivate myself, but my mother because I understand getting something taken away from you that you have worked hard for can destroy a good person. This is what happened to my family and I, and what we did to overcome it. April 1, 2007 we got the phone call stating we had finally been approved to move into our first family home after 13 years. The owner of the home also told us she came because the mortgage on the home had not been paid since May. So not only was the partial owner of the home not informing us of his financial problem but he did not pay the mortgage company the money we gave him and still to this day we do not know where our money is. We soon heard from him around Christmas time but not about the foreclosure. The conversation revolved around if he didn t get his money what he would do to my family. We were threatened mentally and physically to the point that we changed the locks and immediately started looking for another home. Biological Macromolecule Polyhydroxybutyrate ( Phb ) ABSTRACT The important biological macromolecule polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) producing Bacillus subtilis was isolated from the sewage sample and identified by means of 16S rRNA analysis. The renewable nature and biodegradability of PHBs make them suitable materials to replace synthetic plastics in many applications. Currently their production is expensive, but these plastics are only in their first stage of commercial development. In the present study the physico chemical parameters such as Time, Temperature and pH were optimized for increased production of PHB. It was found that maximum production of PHB was observed at 48th hour (328Вµg/ml) of incubation time, temperature 370C (336Вµg/ml), pH 7.5 (362 Вµg/ml). The low cost production media was developed using fruit peel extract and sugarcane industrial waste. • 35. Being Original Is More Important Than Fitting In Essay Lauren Willcox ,a famous writer, once said, Being original is more important than fitting in, especially if you have to change to fit in. This quote demonstrates how fitting in and being original is a daily struggle amongst people. Along with fitting in many people judge others before looking at their point of view or learning the struggles they may be facing. Taking a walk in someone s else s shoes or seeing their point of view may turn a negative situation into a positive one. A past experience of mine has resurfaced in my head and allowed me to realize the other person s perspective on the situation. It all started on a sunny day in August three days before my freshman year in high school. The pure fear and anxiousness of high school had kept me up all night. A transition from middle school to high school is no joke and the thought of 1,000 plus students tore me apart. My parents have always taught me to work hard for what you want because things aren t going to come free. I was unlike most students my age, because I didn t have the newest technology and that scared me even more. I wanted so bad to be like other kids and get the latest Iphone. Being such a necessary and overused resource makes it a hotly contested subject and global issue. The United States is one of the biggest importers and users of oil in the world, which makes our need of it a major influence on several global markets. Our heavy reliance on dirty fuels, as well as every other industrialized country in the world, will lead to massive effects on the climate of our Earth. This in addition, has led to violence and war, particularly in the Middle East, over the ownership and distribution of oil and other energy resources, which in the end only serves to profit big oil industries. This problem will not stop or slow down, as the demand for energy will only increase as the world s population and global economy continues to expand. For mainly these reasons, which will be handled more in depth throughout this paper, the need for clean alternative energy is paramount and must be addressed within the foreseeable future should we otherwise suffer the consequences. In 2014, the United States within that year used about 7 billion barrels of petroleum products (a barrel in America being 42 US gallons means that we used roughly 294 billion gallons). In 2012, we consumed about 6.8 billion barrels (285.6 billion gallons) of petroleum products and over half of these barrels were imported from some part of the Western Hemisphere. Although our dependence on importing petroleum has been on a decline (since 2005) we are still the

Reacting to an Unfair Government Without a job, without a source of income, without a way to provide oneself with the necessities, how would one survive in life? It is stated in Henry David Thoreau s essay, Resistance to Civil Government, that the reaction to an unfair government is to remove oneself from office if the government violates the moral human law and rebel/revolutionize against the government. This is clear in the following quote, All machines have their friction; ...But when the friction comes to have its machine, and oppression and robbery are organized, I say, let us not have such a machine any longer. In other words, when ...a nation which has undertaken to be the refuge of liberty are slaves, and a whole country is unjustly overrun and conquered by a foreign army, ..., I think that it is not too soon for honest men to rebel and revolutionize. However, rebelling could result in losing a government position which is leaving an occupation and that leads to serious consequences for the person involved. This thought stemmed from Thoreau after he was jailed for not paying taxes to the state. Thoreau did not support the Mexican American war and disliked the fact that the government supported slavery. Since he broke the law, he was forced to stay overnight in jail. Thoreau believed if the law violated the human conscience, then one should follow his conscience over the law. Why has every man a conscience, then? I think that we should be men

The Roman military became lazy because of how much freedom the citizens got in their life with the Huns. So what were the key reasons on how the Roman Empire to crumble? Rome crumbled because of its military problems in the army, foreign invasions that attacked Rome, and their poor political leadership in the government. Of these, the most important reason was poor political leadership in the government. Its obvious to assume that because of the lack of improvement, great tragedy struck our nation on September 11th. Since September 11th there has been great attempts in fixing the problems that we face with airportsecurity, but yet there are still breaches in airport security, we are still not safe. There are several factors behind the problems with airport security; they range from inadequate machinery used, to poorly trained screeners. Due to all the complicated factors that we have to deal with in regards to airport security, a proposal will be raised. • 45. The Formation Of Acc And Its Conversion Into Ethylene The evolution of ACC also brings about the production of 5Вў methylthioadenosine nine. Increase in the rate of respiration of the fruit gives ATP (Adenosine triphosphate) need for the methionine cycle and can lead to induced ethylene production without high levels of intracellular methionine. SAM is a crucial methyl giver and relates to numerous aspects of cellular metabolism. Thus, the two steps involved in the synthesis of ethyleneis the formation of ACC and its conversion into ethylene. The genes encoding ACS and ACO have therefore been studied more deeply than other enzymes in the pathway, although there is proof that a few other genes concerned with methionine synthesis and methionine salvage pathway are differentially demonstrated throughout ripeningand in response to ethylene (Alba and others 2005; Zegzouti and others 1999). Argumentative Essay On Plastic Bags The Plastic Bag Takeover As the United States deals with the overwhelming amounts of waste building up, Nitin et al explain that plastics take anywhere from 15 to 1000 years to biodegrade once they are discarded (Nitin). Changes in recycling methods can no longer keep up with the exorbitant amount of wasteproduced in the United States. This is why some states choose to take their initiative one step further by placing either fees or a ban on the use of plastic bags. Due to the enormous waste the United States produces on a daily basis and the negative outcomes of this trash including adverse health effects, harmful impacts on nature, and the exponential piling of trash in landfills, the US government should ban plastic bags. When citizens discard plastic bags in the outdoors, they unknowingly contribute to the spreading of powerful illnesses. Through the pooling of rainwater, thrown away bags contribute to the transmission of mosquito born illnesses, such as Malaria (Trilling). Given the wet, warm environment that a littered plastic bag provides, mosquitoes receive the ideal setting they need to breed. With increased mosquito breeding, American s are left more susceptible to harmful illnesses. One simple way to reduce the littering of plastic bags, is to make plastic bags harder to access in the first place. Additionally, the creation of plastic bags commonly involves many harmful chemicals that in turn play a role in causing detrimental health effects and conditions. Substances in plastic products designed to enhance performance, and make them desirable to consumers, often contain harmful ingredients (Ecology Center). Plastic bags are a commonly overlooked destructive item that might contribute to health problems. When foods are packaged alongside plastic, chemicals migrate from the plastic packaging to the foods, one example being the chemical Polyethylene, a substance suspected to be a carcinogen (Ecology Center). The government has a duty to protect its citizens and one form of protection is keeping people away from especially harmful chemicals and substances. The only way to ensure citizens do not come into contact with these harmful substances on a daily basis through plastic bags is to ban them
