I am excited about this assignment because I hate my job. I currently work as a CSR at Family
Dollar. I started there about a week after school ended and I started hating it a week or so later. I

There are often difficulties with diagnosis in DMD because the symptoms may vary and where

delayed walking age with first steps being taken at around eighteen months. Once a boy with

difficulty running and jumping, and he may develop a waddling gait. Classic symptoms include

significant mark in history in writing during the post World War II era. He was recognized as the
leader of the Beat movement generation and most popular book, On the Road which was published
in 1957. The Beat Generation was known as the movement that was started by a group of authors
that researched and influenced American culture and politics at the time. It can be understood to
say that the Beat Generation was the precursor for the Flower Children of the 1960 s. These group
of authors of the Beat Generation included Neal Cassady, Allen Ginsberg, William Burroughs, Sal

loss of sanity in a speaker s mind. This comparison can explain Dickinson s own struggle to keep
her sanity in her time of voluntary seclusion from the rest of society. A disregard of the generally
accepted rules on capitalization and punctuation were commonly found throughout her works. In I
felt a Funeral in my Brain , the organization of the poem contrasts to the deterioration of the speaker
s mental state, which parallels to Emily Dickinsons own interior downfall after the constant
suffering felt toward her loved ones. The poem is separated into five stanzas each consisting of
four lines that all relate to the metaphor of a funeral and someone experiencing a mental
breakdown. The first quatrain of the poem presents the extended metaphor used throughout the
entire poem. In line one, the speaker informs the reader that she felt a funeral taking place inside
of her mind, rather than picturing or seeing it. The aspects of the funeral are so realistic to the
speaker that it looks as if reality is protruding into the mind. The second stanzadepicts the funeral
service as boring, but the consistency of the dull noise allows the speaker to clear her thoughts.

Many high school students have grown jaded with the modern education system, sitting for hours
in a classroom almost every day having seemingly useless information crammed into their brains. At
some point, the curiosity died and left behind the average student of today. Most people will agree
that a change must occur within the way the youth receives an education; however, fewer people
have touched on the concept that the students must change their mindsets as well. They must all
look beyond the surface level education that teachers tend to focus on and understand what more
they can gain. Throughout David Foster Wallaces speech This is Water, Wallace primarily employs
didactic little parable ish stories along with hyperbolic examples to enforce the idea that the true
benefits of education come from learning simple awareness rather than knowledge. Almost
immediately, Wallace inserts the opening to the story that gives his speech a title, speaking about
two young fish that eventually come across an an older fish who asks them the oddly perplexing

decision is virtually impossible. It is only by getting assistance from others that they can make even
the simplest of choices. When some of these people come together, they rely on each other to help
them with decision making. Unfortunately, the codependency created by this situation frequently
makes it impossible for these people to separate. In fact, they often become so interdependent that

Ethan had not wanted to go to bed with Zeena but once Zeena began to pressure him, he backed
down and followed her to bed like a hurt child. Thus, Ethan yields to his problem and entraps
himself to a life of misery. He illustrates his own dependence by his consistent submission to Zeena

Zeena Frome, the second of the three important characters, is often unable to take direct action
