The meetings I have attended focused on ground transportation items such as taxi
and transportation network companies (TNCs), i.e. Uber and Lyft and ground
transportation agreements. The atmosphere around these meeting are usually tense
and the public speakers are very loud and vocal. The meeting on March 28th, 2017
was more of a formal setting with vocal discussions, however, the atmosphere
surrounding the meeting was somewhat subdued compared to the other meetings I
have participated in. The BOCC were more relaxed during this meeting and even
joked with each other in a professional and polite manner. The audience, whom
should be quite during the meeting, also laughed at the Commissioners jokes.
When the audience participated as speakers the BOCC listened and then moved
onto the next speaker. Both parties, the BOCC and the public speakers were polite
and all speakers stayed within his or her allocated three (3) minutes timeframe to
talk. I was unable to locate any news articles relating to the March 28, 2017, BOCC
meeting. There were a few times throughout the meeting a commissioner asked the
County Attorney if what was being requested was the first time or a different action

The fur trading industry played a major role in the development of the United States
and Canada for more than 300 years. The fur trade began in the 1500 s as an
exchange between Indians and Europeans. The Indians traded furs for such goods
as tools and weapons. Beaver fur, which was used in Europe to make felt hats,
became the most valuable of these furs. The fur trade prospered until the mid 1800,
when fur bearing animals became scarce and silk hats became more popular than felt
hats made with beaver. Traders and trappers explored much of North America in

around many of these posts. Some of these settlements later became such major cities

I chose to write my research paper on the Blackfoot reservation which is home to the
Blackfoot tribe. The Blackfoot tribe was sometimes known as the classic example of
the Plains Indians. The Blackfoot reservation actually consists of four different tribes
and those are the Blackfoot/Siksika, Blood/Kainai, Pikuni/Peigan, and North Peigan
Pikuni tribes. The BlackfootIndians initially migrated from the Great Lakes region

unaware of. The Blackfoot tribe first learned about and got their first horses and riles

was a treaty that was called the Fort Laramie Treaty of 1851. The Blackfoot tribe
was not one of the tribes that attended the negotiation of this treaty, but it still greatly
affected their tribe. Article 5 of the Treaty defined the territory of this tribe and used
the Musselshell, Missouri, Yellowstone Rivers, and the Rocky Mountain Range as
markers of this territory. In 1873 and 1874, President Grant made Executive Orders
shrinking reservation lands. The 1873 Order diminished the 1851 and 1855 treaty
lands and created an entire reservation for the Blackfoot, Gros Ventre, Assiniboine,
and Sioux. This territory went from north of the Missouri and Sun River east to the

converted into numbers of frame of face and monitoring of the face region and eyes
in order to detect drowsiness. The system is able to monitoring eyes and determine
whether the eyes are in an open or closed. This detection system provides a non
contact technique for judging various level of alertness and facilitates early detection
of a decline in alertness during driving.
