Romeo And Juliet s Death
Romeo was so inarticulate to his family and friends that he had led him and Juliet to their own deaths.
Romeo first loves Rosaline. But once he sees Juliet at the capulet party he changes his mind. Oh, She
doth teach the torches to burn bright! It seems she hangs upon the cheek of night as a rich jewel in an
Ethiop s ear , (1,5, 41 43). Romeo forgets about Rosaline and to Romeo that Juliet is bright in the eerie
night. After Romeo requests Juliet if she can meet him at her balcony in the night. Romeo asks for her
hand in marriage to be with him until they die. Even though Juliet replies to Romeo that it is too soon,
Romeo does not care. Juliet succumbed to Romeo s heartfelt desire to marry her and says yes. Tybalt

The Role Of Nurse Generalist As An Advocate, Delegator,...
The roles of the nurse generalist as an advocate, delegator, and life long learner
Myunghee Jung
Fairmont State University December 11, 2015
There are many professional roles of the nurse generalist that are essential in providing care to
patients, such as an advocate, educator, collaborator, and change agent and so on. In every day nursing
practice, nurses perform a variety of nursing roles. Meeting role expectations as a professional nurse is
for patient centered care, which is one of the IOM core competencies. The purpose of this paper is to
identify nurse generalist roles as an advocate, communicator, and life long learner to implement IOM
core competencies; 1)provide patient centered care, 2) work in interprofessional teams, 3) employ
evidence based practice, 4) apply quality improvement, 5) utilize informatics (Finkelman, 2016, p. 50
51). This paper will also deal with what I have felt in my nursing career in performing the nursing
roles. According to Tomajan, the role of an advocate is to work on behalf of self and/or others to raise
awareness of a concern and to promote solutions to the issue (Tomajan, 2012, para 5). Acting as a
patient advocate plays an important role in providing patient centered care. In this role, nurses should
be aware of patients vulnerability and pay much attention to their individual values and preferences in
receiving care. However, in reality, it is challenging for nurses to focus exclusively on patients needs

Reflection On The Kilgore Independent School Board Meeting
On July 25,2016, I attended the Kilgore Independent School Board meeting. I noticed that besides the
board members there were not very many people in attendance. There were two students, myself
included, a former KISD students father talking about the FFA, five faculty members, and a reporter. I
was not sure what to expect at this meeting since I had never attended one before and unfortunately I
do not think that I would ever willingly attend another, unless it was relevant to my child. Before the
start of the meeting all of the board member were fed by Jalapeño Tree. I only knew this because not
only did the room smell of the delicious Mexican cuisine and they all had cups but they were
discussing how good it was. I was starving by the time

Diary Of Rubashov Extract
The novel begins with N.S. Rubashov, the main character of the story, who is found in prison cell No.
404. He is in bed, ready to sleep, when he recalls the time he was arrested by soldiers who have the
knowledge of his position in the Soviet Union leadership team. Finally, he wakes up with a horrible
toothache and is very hungry from food deprivation. Then, he reminiscences his missions in foreign
nations that required him to betray others, or use them to his advantage. One of these missions were in
Germany, where a revolutionary group supported by the USSR Communist Party was failing. The
leader of this revolutionary group, a man named Richard, questioned the Party s propaganda and
publicizing of the cause, so Rubashov kicked him out of the party. As Rubashov continues to recall his
missions, he is reminded of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This time, it is about the maturity level of the mass people. The extract also relates to the pendulum
movement and the challenging laws of production and mass distribution/exportation of goods. After
the night Rubashov and Ivanov discuss the options for the confession, Rubashov writes a capitulation
in hopes of a minute sentence like promised by Ivanov. However, the day of the next hearing, Ivanov
is not the magistrate; rather, it is Gletkin, much to the bad luck of Rubashov. Rubashov is then
informed that Ivanov had been executed and that Gletkin was given full responsibility for the
interrogation in Rubashov s case. Gletkin, known for his physical pressure methods, immediately
resorts to sleep deprivation. He makes Rubashov sit in front of a lamp and makes him glare at it for
hours and hours. Rubashov was compelled to confess to multiple convictions, including the scheme to
poison Stalin s morning meal. About five days after strenuous examination, Rubashov faints from
sleep deprivation. In court, he fully confesses his crimes in

Liberalism Vs. Realism Essay
Liberalism vs. Realism
In a world where the drive for power and the will to dominate are held to be fundamental aspects of
human nature as the Classical Realists would argue, the necessity for International Organizations
cannot be dismissed as some liberalists argue. According to Iriye 2002, IGO s consists of institutions
that come into existence through formal agreements among nations and represent their corresponding
governments (Iriye 2002, Pg. 12 14). With that in mind, some liberalists argue that joining
international organizations and institutions like the United Nations socializes some leaders so that
their motivations are more benign (Dunne 2011, Pg. 103). I am convinced to a certain extent with this
idea as I feel that even though classical realists argue that every man has within him the desire to rule
or the desire for power (Dunne and Schmidt 2011, Pg. 90). When several leaders come together all
from different IR theoretical backgrounds (liberalists, realists, constructivists) each decision they
make comes collectively thus not leaving too much room for their individual biases based on their
theoretical perspectives to impact important international relations issues negatively . Although I
highly doubt if anything can be done to control the human desire for power accumulation as a classical
realist would say, a part of the psyche of man, I do believe the liberalists argument to be of substance.
Because IGO s result in socialization, they also create a

Stereotypes In The Real World
Stereotypes are all around us. Wherever one goes there will be stereotypes for people, groups, or even
animals. For example, pit bulls are known to be vicious dogs, even though there are many pit bulls
that are nice and friendly. These stereotypes can cloud good people s judgement of others just solely
based on appearance. This prejudgment of a person can hurt them various ways in the real world such
as applying for a job. A man that wants to be a nurse can hurt his manliness because nurses are thought
to be a job for women only. The gender stereotypes in this world are not making anything better, just
worse. In order to get one step closer to gender equality we as a society need to eliminate stereotypes
as a whole. Now, some may say that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

new society, we teach kids the mentality of everybody gets a trophy. We teach kids to just go out there
try your hardest, just have fun, and you will be a winner. This may not seem related to the stereotype
of these goofy dads yet it is. If you take a look at older TV shows compared to new ones you ll notice
one big difference in the way dads are portrayed. In the old shows, dads were depicted as old, stern,
classy men. But nowadays, dads are all goofy and dumb. Could this change be related to the new
upcoming society? The TV producers may want to film to appeal to the younger generations by

An Organization s Corporate Social Responsibility
An organization s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) drives them to look out for the different
interests of society. Most business corporations undertake responsibility for the impact of their
organizational pursuits and various activities on their customers, employees, shareholders,
communities and the environment. With the high volume of general competition between different
companies and organizations in varied fields, CSR has become a morally imperative commitment,
more than one enforced by the law. Most organizations in the modern world willingly try to improve
the general well being of not only their employees, but also their families and the society as a whole.

Due to the increase of public awareness in the recent years, a company needs to maintain its moral
image. This has also led to the governments all over the world becoming more vigilant in their
regulation of these organizations. Government restriction, taxes and environmentally sensitive areas
are some of the biggest and most expensive hindrances faced by business organizations, costing them
millions of dollars. For some cases, it becomes too expensive for companies to be ethical in tackling
various obligations. This forces them to change their approach and look for alternative actions.

William Shakespeare s Measure For Measure Essay
In our society, interactions with others contains vital importance when examining the exercise of
authority. Due to this, authority has been very challenging to embrace. An individual with arduous
authority is often required to make decisions, and these decisions are created based on the conscience
this person possesses. Constantly, the interpretation must be made whether these decisions stamp a
title on these individuals, and this is where legitimacy or illegitimacy of the individual s actions make
an appearance. In the play Measure for Measure written by William Shakespeare, readers have the
opportunity to witness this trial of holding authority. Angelo, one of the characters within the play,
exemplifies the exercise of authority, and arguments can be created in relation to the sincerity of his
actions. Many may argue that his use of authority seems illegitimate, but due to certain citations
within this play, I strongly believe the contrary is true. Many situations within this particular play
comprise the recognition characters obtain of his incomparable ability to enforce laws, and these can
act as the establishment of proving the legitimacy he has as an authority figure. Also, particular
characters offer blatant indications of knowing and acknowledging the laws of the land, which will
result in the culmination of proving his legitimacy. Before presenting these examples, the definition of
legitimacy must be clarified. In addition to this, I will also be offering a

Today is September 17, 2016, almost a year since my accident and I ve come a long way since then.
My ankles healed and I m back to cheerleading with no complications, I ve even been going to

is easy because the floor is springy but the track at a football game is a whole different story and I
have to do it today. My heart is racing as we walk over to the other side of the track to do our hello
cheer to the other team. I think back to the few times I warmed it up with my coach and try to keep in
mind doing it just like that. We re getting closer. I can t do this, guys. Oh my God! I groan. I m gonna

encouragements from my team but they don t do much to calm my nerves. My palms are getting

Onomatopoeia For A Burning House
What is an onomatopoeia for a burning house? Snap? Crackle? Pop? Well, whatever that sound is, just
imagine it on a cold but not snowy winter s night, a night that started out as a trip to the movies but
backfired. See what I did there. My house set ablaze last December, of course it had the week of
Christmas, and I lost everything. When I say everything I mean it, my house was gutted, my room was
charred and smoked, and my brother s kittens died. I was distraught, all of the art I had ever done was
gone, my cat was missing in a burning house, and worst of all, I lost the only home I d ever known.
All of this is material and I ve heard a million times that at least no one was hurt , but that s not true. I
was hurt, my brother was hurt, my sister and my mother were hurt, and kittens died. Don t worry,

The Policies Of Germany And Gustav Stresemann
Germany is a united European country after World war I and World war II, and this is due to the
chancellors that have made it their plans to set aside their own German nationalism and attempted to
create something that would not only benefit Germany but also as a whole continent. Chancellor
Gustav Stresemann came into politics when he saw that he had a great leadership and understood that
economics and politics go hand to hand. Yet, he opposed some proposals such as The Treaty of
Versailles because it made Germany become a weak country. He did believe in discipline but saw the
treaty as a threat of Germany policies and economics. Nonetheless, a plan that Gustav Stresemann
thought that would help the Germans was the Dawes Plan that would

Health Promotion Is An Important Aspect Of Nursing
The world is an ever changing place and so are the cultures represented within. While providing care,
it is a nurse s responsibility to keep up with these constant changes and learn to accommodate
everyone. This is not always an easy task as it requires the nurse to set aside their biases and fully
embrace the newly emerging cultures. The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual and Questioning
culture, also known as LGBTQ, has been slowly emerging and gaining more attention throughout the
past century. It is essential for nurses to acquire knowledge about them to better serve their community
in a culturally sensitive manner. As health promotion is an important aspect of nursing, it must be
attuned carefully to each culture to be effective. According to Caring for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and
Transsexual Parents and their Children (2012), the estimated number of LGBTQ living in the United
States is 3.8 percent of the population. That is an astonishing number considering, due to the persistent
stigma of this culture, many members do not disclose their sexual preferences, and therefore, a precise
number is likely much higher than that. With recent advances in legal rights for LGBTQ, it is not
surprising that many of them live as family units and are raising children. Despite improvements
towards equality, there are still many challenges for this group, and society remains far from being
accepting. In fact, only 47% of Americans favor same sex marriage and consequently, 23% of

that killed multiple crops, including the potato crop. Because Ireland was dependent on the potato
crop, the results of this blight were catastrophic. Britain, who had control over Ireland at this time, did
very little to help the now starving and poor Irish. As a result of English disregard towards the Irish
during the Potato Famine of 1845, the already fragile relationship between Ireland and England
worsened.
When this particular blight, containing the fungus phytophthora infestans, struck the potatoes, it killed
the tuber of the plant and potatoes all throughout Ireland began to rot. The blight also hit the rest of

Furthermore, there was an outbreak of cholera in 1849. Ireland was running out of space for corpses to
be buried, so hundreds of these bodies were not buried with coffins; just a few inches below the soil
and ground almost touching the corpse next to it (Kinealy, 93). Many of the Irish that didn t die from
these diseases did die from starvation. Seeing as the potato was main source of nutrition for many
Irish people, many became malnourished. Not only was it nutritious, but also the potato was very
cheap and fed large amounts of people. The Potato Famine hit the hardest in 1847; it was the height of
hunger in Ireland. It is thought that over half of a million people die in 1847, compared to the million
that died from 1845 1848 (Kinealy, 92). Many of the Irish chose to become potato farmers, due to the
fact that it could be grown on such cheap land. When the famine hit, thousands soon found themselves
out of work. Many could not pay their rent, and were evicted. Some landlords tried their best to help
their tenants and not charge them for rent, but soon they needed a source of income as well (Scally,
117). Between 1849 and 1854, approximately 250,000 people were evicted from their homes. Whole
families were left out on the street to die (Kinealy, 125). Now, homeless and starving, many soon
emigrated. The majority of

Racism And Stereotypes In Hollywood
The world of cinema was created with the purpose of displaying stories of White people, for White
people and by White people. When it comes to African Americans the world of cinema has
predetermined roles for them. These roles are the stereotypical uneducated slave, domestic worker,
mammy, hyper sexualized harlot and tap dancing uncle tom. These stereotypes given to highly
talented and educated African American actors and actresses have evolved over the years but no
matter the time African Americans in starring roles have to portray a stereotype of some kind in order
to be successful in Hollywood. Over the course of the semester nine films were viewed spanning from
the early 1930 s to the middle of the 1970 s. These films include Emperor Jones (1933), Princess Tam
Tam (1935), Cabin in the Sky (1943), Stormy Weather (1943), Carmen Jones (1954), Black Orpheus
(1959), A Raisin in the Sun (1961), Nothing but A Man (1964) and Claudine (1974). In each of these
films we see how these stereotypes are portrayed, exploited and evolved throughout the years to
disguise Hollywood s racism. Hollywood s history of racism and stereotypes is explained well through
the work of literature Toms, Coons, Mulattoes, Mammies, and Bucks by Donald Bogle. The film
industry in Hollywood has many notable and praised films in its early years which are blatantly racist
and depict African Americans in a very stereotypical light. These films include D.W. Griffith s The
Birth of a Nation (1915), which

Liberalism and Mercantilism
Liberalism and Mercantilism
International political economy is an important subdiscipline of international relation. It has three
main ideologies, Liberalism, Mercantilism and Marxism. In this essay there will be three parts, first
part is to demonstrate what the Liberalism and Mercantilism are on the perspective of international
political economy and then the second part is to compare and contrast these two ideologies of political
economy. At last, give a conclusion to the Liberalism and Mercantilism.
Liberalism
The liberal perspective on political economy is embodied in the discipline of the Western economics

Final Reflection On Food Nourishment
ACE 435
Final Reflection
Jon and Rachel are awesome! Thank you all for a wonderful class!
1. Which guest speaker hosted in class this semester had the greatest impact on you? What did you
learn from him/her and how might it affect your future? The topic that had the greatest impact on me
is about food security by professor Michelson. In the lecture, we discussed the importance of food
security, the trends of rising global food demand, factors that drives the expected demand increase,
and also the relationship between income and food. The first question she came up with is why food
security became such a major challenge worldwide? In my point of view, one of the simple reason is
that everybody needs food. By answering this question, she introduced the definition of food security,
and three hierarchical pillars. I learned that population growth, climate change, and water scarcity are
some of the factor that cause food security became a problem. Also, as people become more affluent
they start to change their tastes. For example, meat consumption in both developed and developing
countries predict to increase while their income rise. Then we analyzed couple graph and table. In the
over nourishment map, we found out that Europe, North America and Oceania seems waste the most
food. In the map of meat demand driver, I learned that since two third of meat Chinese consume is
pork, China actually consumes more total meat calories than US. Last but not least, professor
Michelson introduced Engel s law and Bennett s law. Engel s law stated that as income increase, the
portion of income spent on food falls, but the amount of money that expend on food might increase.
Bennett s law stated that as income rises, the portion of starchy food in the diet falls. One of the
interesting things I found out in her presentation is that if an average individual has an intake calories
below 1690 1930 kcal per day, he or she is undernourished. I was shock by this information because I
used to take around 1400 kcal per day, and I am actually undernourished if by this definition. After
listened to professor Michelson s speech, I realized that feeding the people is one of the greatest
challenged worldwide. The challenge is not only

Scrooge s Character And His Character
Stave One
1. Describe Scrooge s appearance and his character why doesn t the weather affect him?
Scrooge is described as an old sinner , a heartless old man who, because he was so cold, had frozen
features such as a nipped pointed nose, shriveled cheeks, stiffened gait, red eyes, blue lips, and had a
grating voice. He also had white hair, beard and eyebrows.
The weather doesn t affect scrooge as he himself is just as cold as the wintry weather inside and out.
2. Describe the character of Scrooge s nephew.
Scrooge s nephew is a genuine man and unlike his uncle loves Christmas. He seems to be happy and
merry, with an adoring wife. They don t seem to be particularly wealthy.
3. Summarise the arguments these two men present on both sides of the debate about Christmas.
Scrooge s nephew thinks that Christmas is a time of joy and laughter and believes it should be spent
with family and friends. Scrooge on the other hand believes that it is a sorry excuse for holiday and is
not worth celebrating, he also believes that it is a very expensive time that is not worth the money or
time.
4. What has Marley s ghost been doing since his death, and what is the warning that it gives Scrooge?
He has been wandering the world witnessing things that he wishes he could speak about to those who
need it to make them happy. He warns scrooge that if he does not change his ways Scrooge s after life
will be burdened by all his regrets during his short lifetime just like Marley himself.

America an American has, being American is a lot easier then many people think but it is also hard
there are challenges that come with the life of an average American just as well as there are rewards
that come with it. Something nice about being American is that you can choose wherever you want to

Personal Narrative Essay About Being In Sea Water
Noah was born on January 20, 2006. He was a few weeks early, and weighed in at only 5 lbs., 4 oz.
He showed early on what a fighter he is. He is my hero C.A.F.
I married a fish.
Now don t think I am insulting my dear spouse, implying that she looks like a slimy creature that
spends its life in the sea. I am simply trying to illustrate that C is all about being in the water at every
opportunity at her disposal.
The true irony of the situation is that while she acts like a fish, she despises seafood. It s a pity because
seafood is one of life s great pleasures.

I was at work that day, so I am going to describe what took place as best as I can recall from the story

around the pool was slicker than she expected. She took one step, and the next thing she knew she had

correlates with the actual act of doing the impossible. Often times one s attitudes, actions, and beliefs

The Invasion Of Iraq By The United States Essay
Over the previous two decades, the number of countries acquiring a democratic regime has increased
dramatically. Democracy is a political regime allowing a system of government that is based on the
belief of freedom and equal justice. Power is held by elected representatives through free and fair
elections, resulting in a system that reflects the people s choices. Democratic countries rarely, if ever,
wage war on each other and tend to resolve disputes in a more peaceful manner rather than declaring
war on their opposition. However, they are not the utopias of peace that many people envision
democracies to be. The invasion of Iraq by the United States of America in 2003 stands as a strong
example where the impact of a forced regime change has resulted in unrest and violence. IGO s like
the UN promote democracy in a less invasive and obstructive way and are a lot more successful. The
invasion of Iraq clearly demonstrates the dangers of promoting democracy in an undemocratic
international system. The spread of democracy cannot be imposed by force as it is discrediting the
idea of freedom that the regime itself represents. Is democracy a reason for peace just as much as it is
a justification for war? I believe democracy does make the world a more peaceful place, however, the
forceful spread of democracy does not.
Immanuel Kant in Perpetual Peace 1765 originally brought up the idea that democratic countries
would be more peaceful than one with a monarchical governing

Characteristics Of A Good Teacher
INTRODUCTION: What is teaching? Teaching is something many people desire to do in order to help
those learn with different teaching approaches. A lot of time is devoted to the what of teaching and
what areas we should we cover, what resources do we need and so on. The how of teaching also gets a
great deal of space and how to structure a lesson, manage classes, assess for learning for learning and
so on. Do we ask the who question who is the self that teaches? How does the quality of my selfhood
form or deform the way I relate to my students, my subject, my colleagues, my world? How can
educational institutions sustain and deepen the selfhood from which good teaching comes? Parker J.
Palmer (1998: 4).
WHAT IS A GOOD TEACHER?: A good teacher is someone who focuses on students needs and
styles of learning. Every student has different way of learning. In my experience to become a good
teacher one must take the time to speak and observe their students. I always observe my students when
they are speaking. One thing I have learned is to always ask the students what activity we will be
doing in their own words. This way I can see if they understand and are paying attention.
STRENGTH AND WEAKNESSES: The first time I taught it was in front of a bunch of eighth
graders. I was shaking and not confident in the way I was conducting class. I had no idea how to be a
teacher or how to speak. When I came to this program I had a better understanding

The Segregation Of The South
Segregation in the South
Introduction
According to Merriam Webster the word segregation was first known to be used in 1555. It is defined
as the separation or isolation of a race, class, or ethnic group by enforcing or voluntary residence in a
restricted area, by barriers to social intercourse, by separate educational facilities, or by other
discriminatory means.
The United States underwent vast transformations, especially in the South. New political, social, and
economic systems emerged that transformed the South from a rural, slave based society, to an
increasingly urban, industrialized, free labor society. The changes to the social, political, and
economic landscape of the South prompted an unprecedented era of racial violence throughout the
region (Jett, p.40). The Southern states deemed slavery was crucial to safeguard white superiority.
Most Southern whites who had aspirations of becoming a very prominent slave owner, were terrified
of a society with considerable numbers of African Americans who were not slaves. Segregation moved
by way of public accommodations, all the way through the South. DeFina Hannon (2011) and others
showed daily interactions of whites and blacks in the South, during reconstruction of the south
identified racial prejudices were increasing steadily, after the Civil War and especially during the 1880
s. Town after town across the south flatly banned African Americans within their city limits after dark.

The disposal of nuclear waste is quickly becoming the most important issue facing the environmental
community today. Nearly twenty percent of our nation s electricity is being supplied by approximately

created by these power plants is being housed temporarily in storage facilities and although the total
amount of nuclear waste produced in one year is small, the need to find a permanent method of

Yucca Mountain is located on government owned land in a remote area of Nevada. The proposed plan
is the first national permanent waste facility and will cost an estimated 6.3 billion dollars. The project
will include borrowing massive tunnels through the mountain s inner rock and then placing the storage
tanks inside. Obviously, there is much public concern over the project. One of the largest concerns is
the possibility of seismic activity rupturing the tunnel and/or canisters. At present, the 104th US
Congress, house Resolution 1924 proposed to make Hanford, Washington, the western US site for
temporary storage, and it would be by default the permanent disposal place of spent nuclear fuel from
US reactors. This resolution stemmed from a growing recognition that Yucca Mountains, in Nevada, is
a less than brilliant location for this purpose. The US government has no fallback position should the
project at Yucca Mountain fail. Yucca Mountain is not a sound solution for the disposal of spent
nuclear fuel. The decision to site Yucca Mountain as a waste repository was based on politics, not
science. There continues to be much controversy over the issue and many questions regarding the

Nile River Cycle Analysis
In Egypt, the Nile River creates a rich green valley across the desert. It was by the banks of the river
that one of the oldest civilizations in the world began. The ancient Egyptians lived and farmed along
the Nile, using the soil to produce food for themselves and their animals. Document A, a map of Egypt
around 1500 BCE, was founded by multiple sources and was created in order to illustrate how the
placement of the river was beneficial to the success of cities across Egypt. The creators of this map
had no bias because the structure of the document is strictly factual. The map demonstrates the areas
that are gray represent the fertile Nile Valley. The Nile Valley is spread across lower and upper Egypt,
from cities such as Buto to Abu Simbel. It is an important document because it clarifies how the river
was able to have a strong influence on the citizens of Egypt. This indicates that there was a vast
number of people that had to depend on the Nile as a freshwater source, even for tasks included in
their daily life.
Document B, a chart of The Nile River Flood Cycle, written by Katherine Hinds was written to
explain how the different seasons of Egypt were affected by the river s flood cycle. Hinds view on the
river s flood cycle may be influenced by the fact that she will unintentionally compare ancient Egypt s
different seasons to modern times, however, this bias is not evident in the text. The seasons mentioned
were Akhet, the flood season, Peret, the planting and growing season, and Shemu, the harvest season.
Akhet took place in mid June to mid October, and in these months the fields were subjected to
flooding, due to the surrounding river, which meant farmers were provided with more labor such as
canal repair. Peret came to pass in mid October to mid February where enough time has passed for the
water to subside and supply irrigation canals, in which crops were planted and sustained until Shemu,
which took place until the cycle resumed its place in Akhet, where they were then harvested and sold
in the market. The document s intent was to express how the different seasons were useful to everyday
life long ago. It is significant because it shows how people were employed and citizens were provided

Events That Have Changed America Essay
Abraham Lincoln had it right when he said, My dream is of a place and time where America will once
again be seen as the last best hope of earth. From the time of Abraham Lincoln until now, America has
endured so much, but is still hopeful. Throughout history, there have been many events that have
changed America, such as, natural disasters, the Civil Rights movement, and multiple terrorist attacks;
having endured all of which gives people hope for a brighter future. Completely out of human control,
natural disasters take their toll on people by destroying properties and crops, as well as killing people.
There have been many tornadoes in the past, because of these events there are now better warning
systems and rebuilding programs. After hurricanes, many people open up their homes for people in
need. There are also many large scale refugee centers that help people that have lost everything due to
a hurricane. Adversity brings out a kindness and generosity that is not always present until a storm
wakes people up to the needs of others. A man made storm can also bring an awaking to American
society. The Civil Rights Movement took place from 1954 1968. The goal of the Civil Rights
Movement was to eliminate discrimination so equal rights were not contingent upon race. In 1954,

Differences Between Communism And Communism
Capitalism:
Capitalism is an economic and political system in which a country s trade and industry are controlled
by private owners for profit, rather than by the state
Communism:
Economic and social system in which all (or nearly all) property and resources are collectively owned
by a classless society and not by individual citizens.
Difference between Capitalism and Communism:
Capitalism and Communism are different from each other in their ideologies. One of the most
significant differences found between capitalism and communism is related to the resources or the
means of production. In communism the state owns the resources or the means of production whereas
in capitalism a private owner has the complete control of the resources or the means of production.

But once he sees Juliet at the capulet party he changes his mind. Oh, She doth teach the torches to burn bright! It seems she hangs upon the cheek of night as a rich jewel in an Ethiop s ear , (1,5, 41 43). Romeo forgets about Rosaline and to Romeo that Juliet is bright in the eerie night. After Romeo requests Juliet if she can meet him at her balcony in the night. Romeo asks for her hand in marriage to be with him until they die. • 3. The Role Of Nurse Generalist As An Advocate, Delegator,... The roles of the nurse generalist as an advocate, delegator, and life long learner Myunghee Jung Fairmont State University December 11, 2015 There are many professional roles of the nurse generalist that are essential in providing care to patients, such as an advocate, educator, collaborator, and change agent and so on. In every day nursing practice, nurses perform a variety of nursing roles. Meeting role expectations as a professional nurse is for patient centered care, which is one of the IOM core competencies. The purpose of this paper is to identify nurse generalist roles as an advocate, communicator, and life long learner to implement IOM core competencies; 1)provide patient centered care, 2) work in interprofessional teams, 3) employ evidence based practice, 4) apply quality improvement, 5) utilize informatics (Finkelman, 2016, p. 50 51). This paper will also deal with what I have felt in my nursing career in performing the nursing roles. According to Tomajan, the role of an advocate is to work on behalf of self and/or others to raise awareness of a concern and to promote solutions to the issue (Tomajan, 2012, para 5). Acting as a patient advocate plays an important role in providing patient centered care. In this role, nurses should be aware of patients vulnerability and pay much attention to their individual values and preferences in receiving care. However, in reality, it is challenging for nurses to focus exclusively on patients needs and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I noticed that besides the board members there were not very many people in attendance. There were two students, myself included, a former KISD students father talking about the FFA, five faculty members, and a reporter. I was not sure what to expect at this meeting since I had never attended one before and unfortunately I do not think that I would ever willingly attend another, unless it was relevant to my child. Before the start of the meeting all of the board member were fed by Jalapeño Tree. • 5. Diary Of Rubashov Extract The novel begins with N.S. Rubashov, the main character of the story, who is found in prison cell No. 404. He is in bed, ready to sleep, when he recalls the time he was arrested by soldiers who have the knowledge of his position in the Soviet Union leadership team. Finally, he wakes up with a horrible toothache and is very hungry from food deprivation. Then, he reminiscences his missions in foreign nations that required him to betray others, or use them to his advantage. One of these missions were in Germany, where a revolutionary group supported by the USSR Communist Party was failing. The leader of this revolutionary group, a man named Richard, questioned the Party s propaganda and publicizing of the cause, so Rubashov kicked him out of the party. As Rubashov continues to recall his missions, he is reminded of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This time, it is about the maturity level of the mass people. However, the day of the next hearing, Ivanov is not the magistrate; rather, it is Gletkin, much to the bad luck of Rubashov. Rubashov is then informed that Ivanov had been executed and that Gletkin was given full responsibility for the interrogation in Rubashov s case. Gletkin, known for his physical pressure methods, immediately resorts to sleep deprivation. He makes Rubashov sit in front of a lamp and makes him glare at it for hours and hours. Rubashov was compelled to confess to multiple convictions, including the scheme to poison Stalin s morning meal. About five days after strenuous examination, Rubashov faints from sleep deprivation. • 6. Liberalism Vs. Realism Essay Liberalism vs. Realism In a world where the drive for power and the will to dominate are held to be fundamental aspects of human nature as the Classical Realists would argue, the necessity for International Organizations cannot be dismissed as some liberalists argue. According to Iriye 2002, IGO s consists of institutions that come into existence through formal agreements among nations and represent their corresponding governments (Iriye 2002, Pg. 12 14). With that in mind, some liberalists argue that joining international organizations and institutions like the United Nations socializes some leaders so that their motivations are more benign (Dunne 2011, Pg. 103). I am convinced to a certain extent with this idea as I feel that even though classical realists argue that every man has within him the desire to rule or the desire for power (Dunne and Schmidt 2011, Pg. 90). When several leaders come together all from different IR theoretical backgrounds (liberalists, realists, constructivists) each decision they make comes collectively thus not leaving too much room for their individual biases based on their theoretical perspectives to impact important international relations issues negatively . Although I highly doubt if anything can be done to control the human desire for power accumulation as a classical realist would say, a part of the psyche of man, I do believe the liberalists argument to be of substance. Because IGO s result in socialization, they also create a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Stereotypes In The Real World Stereotypes are all around us. Wherever one goes there will be stereotypes for people, groups, or even animals. For example, pit bulls are known to be vicious dogs, even though there are many pit bulls that are nice and friendly. These stereotypes can cloud good people s judgement of others just solely based on appearance. This prejudgment of a person can hurt them various ways in the real world such as applying for a job. A man that wants to be a nurse can hurt his manliness because nurses are thought to be a job for women only. The gender stereotypes in this world are not making anything better, just worse. In order to get one step closer to gender equality we as a society need to eliminate stereotypes as a whole. Now, some may say that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We teach kids to just go out there try your hardest, just have fun, and you will be a winner. This may not seem related to the stereotype of these goofy dads yet it is. If you take a look at older TV shows compared to new ones you ll notice one big difference in the way dads are portrayed. In the old shows, dads were depicted as old, stern, classy men. • 10. William Shakespeare s Measure For Measure Essay In our society, interactions with others contains vital importance when examining the exercise of authority. Due to this, authority has been very challenging to embrace. An individual with arduous authority is often required to make decisions, and these decisions are created based on the conscience this person possesses. Constantly, the interpretation must be made whether these decisions stamp a title on these individuals, and this is where legitimacy or illegitimacy of the individual s actions make an appearance. In the play Measure for Measure written by William Shakespeare, readers have the opportunity to witness this trial of holding authority. Angelo, one of the characters within the play, exemplifies the exercise of authority, and arguments can be created in relation to the sincerity of his actions. Many may argue that his use of authority seems illegitimate, but due to certain citations within this play, I strongly believe the contrary is true. Many situations within this particular play comprise the recognition characters obtain of his incomparable ability to enforce laws, and these can act as the establishment of proving the legitimacy he has as an authority figure. Also, particular characters offer blatant indications of knowing and acknowledging the laws of the land, which will result in the culmination of proving his legitimacy. Before presenting these examples, the definition of legitimacy must be clarified. In addition to this, I will also be offering a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My house set ablaze last December, of course it had the week of Christmas, and I lost everything. The Policies Of Germany And Gustav Stresemann Germany is a united European country after World war I and World war II, and this is due to the chancellors that have made it their plans to set aside their own German nationalism and attempted to create something that would not only benefit Germany but also as a whole continent. Chancellor Gustav Stresemann came into politics when he saw that he had a great leadership and understood that economics and politics go hand to hand. Yet, he opposed some proposals such as The Treaty of Versailles because it made Germany become a weak country. • 20. Health Promotion Is An Important Aspect Of Nursing The world is an ever changing place and so are the cultures represented within. While providing care, it is a nurse s responsibility to keep up with these constant changes and learn to accommodate everyone. This is not always an easy task as it requires the nurse to set aside their biases and fully embrace the newly emerging cultures. The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual and Questioning culture, also known as LGBTQ, has been slowly emerging and gaining more attention throughout the past century. It is essential for nurses to acquire knowledge about them to better serve their community in a culturally sensitive manner. As health promotion is an important aspect of nursing, it must be attuned carefully to each culture to be effective. According to Caring for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transsexual Parents and their Children (2012), the estimated number of LGBTQ living in the United States is 3.8 percent of the population. That is an astonishing number considering, due to the persistent stigma of this culture, many members do not disclose their sexual preferences, and therefore, a precise number is likely much higher than that. With recent advances in legal rights for LGBTQ, it is not surprising that many of them live as family units and are raising children. Despite improvements towards equality, there are still many challenges for this group, and society remains far from being accepting. • 21. Potato Famine of 1845 Essay At the end of the summer of 1845, a thick rain fell throughout Ireland, carrying with its pores of blight that killed multiple crops, including the potato crop. Because Ireland was dependent on the potato crop, the results of this blight were catastrophic. Britain, who had control over Ireland at this time, did very little to help the now starving and poor Irish. As a result of English disregard towards the Irish during the Potato Famine of 1845, the already fragile relationship between Ireland and England worsened. When this particular blight, containing the fungus phytophthora infestans, struck the potatoes, it killed the tuber of the plant and potatoes all throughout Ireland began to rot. Ireland was running out of space for corpses to be buried, so hundreds of these bodies were not buried with coffins; just a few inches below the soil and ground almost touching the corpse next to it (Kinealy, 93). Many of the Irish that didn t die from these diseases did die from starvation. Seeing as the potato was main source of nutrition for many Irish people, many became malnourished. Not only was it nutritious, but also the potato was very cheap and fed large amounts of people. The Potato Famine hit the hardest in 1847; it was the height of hunger in Ireland. It is thought that over half of a million people die in 1847, compared to the million that died from 1845 1848 (Kinealy, 92). Many of the Irish chose to become potato farmers, due to the fact that it could be grown on such cheap land. When the famine hit, thousands soon found themselves out of work. Many could not pay their rent, and were evicted. Some landlords tried their best to help their tenants and not charge them for rent, but soon they needed a source of income as well (Scally, 117). Between 1849 and 1854, approximately 250,000 people were evicted from their homes. Whole families were left out on the street to die (Kinealy, 125). Now, homeless and starving, many soon emigrated. • 22. Racism And Stereotypes In Hollywood The world of cinema was created with the purpose of displaying stories of White people, for White people and by White people. When it comes to African Americans the world of cinema has predetermined roles for them. These roles are the stereotypical uneducated slave, domestic worker, mammy, hyper sexualized harlot and tap dancing uncle tom. These stereotypes given to highly talented and educated African American actors and actresses have evolved over the years but no matter the time African Americans in starring roles have to portray a stereotype of some kind in order to be successful in Hollywood. Over the course of the semester nine films were viewed spanning from the early 1930 s to the middle of the 1970 s. These films include Emperor Jones (1933), Princess Tam Tam (1935), Cabin in the Sky (1943), Stormy Weather (1943), Carmen Jones (1954), Black Orpheus (1959), A Raisin in the Sun (1961), Nothing but A Man (1964) and Claudine (1974). In each of these films we see how these stereotypes are portrayed, exploited and evolved throughout the years to disguise Hollywood s racism. Hollywood s history of racism and stereotypes is explained well through the work of literature Toms, Coons, Mulattoes, Mammies, and Bucks by Donald Bogle. The film industry in Hollywood has many notable and praised films in its early years which are blatantly racist and depict African Americans in a very stereotypical light. These films include D.W. • 25. Final Reflection On Food Nourishment ACE 435 Final Reflection Jon and Rachel are awesome! Thank you all for a wonderful class! 1. Which guest speaker hosted in class this semester had the greatest impact on you? What did you learn from him/her and how might it affect your future? The topic that had the greatest impact on me is about food security by professor Michelson. In the lecture, we discussed the importance of food security, the trends of rising global food demand, factors that drives the expected demand increase, and also the relationship between income and food. The first question she came up with is why food security became such a major challenge worldwide? In my point of view, one of the simple reason is that everybody needs food. By answering this question, she introduced the definition of food security, and three hierarchical pillars. I learned that population growth, climate change, and water scarcity are some of the factor that cause food security became a problem. Also, as people become more affluent they start to change their tastes. For example, meat consumption in both developed and developing countries predict to increase while their income rise. Then we analyzed couple graph and table. In the over nourishment map, we found out that Europe, North America and Oceania seems waste the most food. In the map of meat demand driver, I learned that since two third of meat Chinese consume is pork, China actually consumes more total meat calories than US. Last but not least, professor Michelson introduced Engel s law and Bennett s law. Engel s law stated that as income increase, the portion of income spent on food falls, but the amount of money that expend on food might increase. Bennett s law stated that as income rises, the portion of starchy food in the diet falls. One of the interesting things I found out in her presentation is that if an average individual has an intake calories below 1690 1930 kcal per day, he or she is undernourished. I was shock by this information because I used to take around 1400 kcal per day, and I am actually undernourished if by this definition. • 31. The Invasion Of Iraq By The United States Essay Over the previous two decades, the number of countries acquiring a democratic regime has increased dramatically. Democracy is a political regime allowing a system of government that is based on the belief of freedom and equal justice. Power is held by elected representatives through free and fair elections, resulting in a system that reflects the people s choices. Democratic countries rarely, if ever, wage war on each other and tend to resolve disputes in a more peaceful manner rather than declaring war on their opposition. However, they are not the utopias of peace that many people envision democracies to be. The invasion of Iraq by the United States of America in 2003 stands as a strong example where the impact of a forced regime change has resulted in unrest and violence. IGO s like the UN promote democracy in a less invasive and obstructive way and are a lot more successful. The invasion of Iraq clearly demonstrates the dangers of promoting democracy in an undemocratic international system. The spread of democracy cannot be imposed by force as it is discrediting the idea of freedom that the regime itself represents. Is democracy a reason for peace just as much as it is a justification for war? I believe democracy does make the world a more peaceful place, however, the forceful spread of democracy does not. How can educational institutions sustain and deepen the selfhood from which good teaching comes? Parker J. Palmer (1998: 4). WHAT IS A GOOD TEACHER?: A good teacher is someone who focuses on students needs and styles of learning. Every student has different way of learning. In my experience to become a good teacher one must take the time to speak and observe their students. I always observe my students when they are speaking. One thing I have learned is to always ask the students what activity we will be doing in their own words. This way I can see if they understand and are paying attention. • 33. The Segregation Of The South Segregation in the South Introduction According to Merriam Webster the word segregation was first known to be used in 1555. It is defined as the separation or isolation of a race, class, or ethnic group by enforcing or voluntary residence in a restricted area, by barriers to social intercourse, by separate educational facilities, or by other discriminatory means. The United States underwent vast transformations, especially in the South. New political, social, and economic systems emerged that transformed the South from a rural, slave based society, to an increasingly urban, industrialized, free labor society. The changes to the social, political, and economic landscape of the South prompted an unprecedented era of racial violence throughout the region (Jett, p.40). The Southern states deemed slavery was crucial to safeguard white superiority. Most Southern whites who had aspirations of becoming a very prominent slave owner, were terrified of a society with considerable numbers of African Americans who were not slaves. Segregation moved by way of public accommodations, all the way through the South. DeFina Hannon (2011) and others showed daily interactions of whites and blacks in the South, during reconstruction of the south identified racial prejudices were increasing steadily, after the Civil War and especially during the 1880 s. One of the largest concerns is the possibility of seismic activity rupturing the tunnel and/or canisters. At present, the 104th US Congress, house Resolution 1924 proposed to make Hanford, Washington, the western US site for temporary storage, and it would be by default the permanent disposal place of spent nuclear fuel from US reactors. Document A, a map of Egypt around 1500 BCE, was founded by multiple sources and was created in order to illustrate how the placement of the river was beneficial to the success of cities across Egypt. The creators of this map had no bias because the structure of the document is strictly factual. The map demonstrates the areas that are gray represent the fertile Nile Valley. The Nile Valley is spread across lower and upper Egypt, from cities such as Buto to Abu Simbel. It is an important document because it clarifies how the river was able to have a strong influence on the citizens of Egypt. This indicates that there was a vast number of people that had to depend on the Nile as a freshwater source, even for tasks included in their daily life. Document B, a chart of The Nile River Flood Cycle, written by Katherine Hinds was written to explain how the different seasons of Egypt were affected by the river s flood cycle. Hinds view on the river s flood cycle may be influenced by the fact that she will unintentionally compare ancient Egypt s different seasons to modern times, however, this bias is not evident in the text. The seasons mentioned were Akhet, the flood season, Peret, the planting and growing season, and Shemu, the harvest season. Akhet took place in mid June to mid October, and in these months the fields were subjected to flooding, due to the surrounding river, which meant farmers were provided with more labor such as canal repair. Peret came to pass in mid October to mid February where enough time has passed for the water to subside and supply irrigation canals, in which crops were planted and sustained until Shemu, which took place until the cycle resumed its place in Akhet, where they were then harvested and sold in the market. The document s intent was to express how the different seasons were useful to everyday life long ago. It is significant because it shows how people were employed and citizens were provided with ...
