The Rings Of Saturn Are Difficult To See When Their Edge Faces The Earth.
There Are 7 Rings, Which Consist Of Thousands Of Smaller Rings.

Uranus Appears Blue From The Earth Due To

For A Very long Time.
Uranus’s Temperature Is About -210 Degrees
So You’d Need A LOT Of Warm Clothing.
Like Saturn And Jupiter, Uranus Bulges At The
Equator Because Of It’s Rapid Rotation.
This Rapid Rotation Also Creates Very Strong
Winds In It’s Atmosphere.
Uranus Has A System Of About 11 Rings
Which Are Smaller And Fainter Than Those Of
Saturn.

Neptune, Like Uranus, Appears Blue From The Earth, Due To The Methane In It’s Atmosphere.
It Has A System Of 5 Faint Rings Which Appear To Consist Of Dust Particles.
It Has A Large Dark Blue Spot Similar To Jupiter’s Great Red Spot.
This Blue Spot, Which Is Larger Than Earth, Is Believed To Be A Giant Storm.
It Was Discovered In 1989 By The Space Probe Voyager 2, Which Also Discovered Six Of The Planets Moons.
One Of Neptune’s Moons, Triton. Is The Coldest Known Body In The Solar System.
The Average Temperature Is -220 Degrees So You Would, Once Again, Need A Lot Of Warm Clothes.

Mercury
   Mercury Is The Closest Planet To The Sun And
    Quite Small Compared With Earth.
   The Surface Of Mercury Is Very Much Like That
    Of The Moon.
   It Is Very Heavily Cratered And Has Mountains,
    Valleys And Flat Plains, Just Like The ‘Seas’ On
    The Moon.
   Until 1974, When The Space Probe Mariner 10
    Flew Close To Mercury, The Planet Was
    Believed To Have No Atmosphere.
   Mariner 10 found traces of The Gases Helium
    And Hydrogen And Even Smaller Amounts Of
    Several Other Gases.
   Because Of The Pull Of Gravity On Mercury Is
    Much Smaller Than That On Earth, Gases Tend
    To Escape Into Space.
   The Temperatures On Mercury Are Extreme,
    Generally Ranging From -180 Degrees To 420
    Degrees.
   You Would Need Heaps Of Water To Survive On
    Mercury.
   The Very Thin Atmosphere Allows Heat To
    Escape Quickly, .

Venus
Venus is the closest planet to the Earth and the second-largest planet
to the sun.
Venus is about the same size as Earth.
It is the brightest object in the night sky apart from the moon.
The thick clouds above the surface of Venus a mystery until space
probes were able to take photographs in 1974 and 1975.
Even though space probes first flew past in 1962, very little knowledge
was gained.
The atmosphere of Venus was so heavy and hot that early spacecraft
and their instruments were either crushed or melted.
The atmosphere of Venus is basically all carbon dioxide.
This means that heat does no escape easily.
As a result, the range of temperatures is small and the average
temperature is much higher than that of Mercury, even though Venus
is almost twice as far from the sun.
The surface of Venus is mostly flat and rocky, with two large areas of
mountains.
It is not a very good place to live because of the high temperature,
heavy atmosphere and the presence of sulfuric acid in the
atmosphere.
You would need a lot of water to survive on Venus, because the
average temperature is 450 degrees.

   Mars has about half the diameter of Earth.
          After Earth, it’s orbit is the next-furthest from the sun.


Mars
          Like Mercury, it has a small pull of gravity and a thin atmosphere which
           consists of mainly carbon dioxide.
          There is frozen water on the poles of mars that has trapped carbon
           dioxide in it.
          If we melted this frozen water, the carbon dioxide would be freed and
           would trap sunlight, giving Mars and atmosphere with plants and it could
           be possible for people and animals to live there,
          The thin atmosphere and lack of clouds made it possible to study Mars
           from the surface of Earth using telescopes.
          This observation led to belief that their was life on Mars.
          In 1976, the space probes Viking 1 and Viking 2 sent clear, close up TV
           pictures from the surface of Mars.
          Considering the average temperature is -120 degrees to -30 degrees,
           you would want a lot of warm clothing.

The Average Temperature Is -220 Degrees So You Would, Once Again, Need A Lot Of Warm Clothes. Mercury  Mercury Is The Closest Planet To The Sun And Quite Small Compared With Earth.  The Surface Of Mercury Is Very Much Like That Of The Moon.  It Is Very Heavily Cratered And Has Mountains, Valleys And Flat Plains, Just Like The ‘Seas’ On The Moon.  Until 1974, When The Space Probe Mariner 10 Flew Close To Mercury, The Planet Was Believed To Have No Atmosphere.  Mariner 10 found traces of The Gases Helium And Hydrogen And Even Smaller Amounts Of Several Other Gases.  Because Of The Pull Of Gravity On Mercury Is Much Smaller Than That On Earth, Gases Tend To Escape Into Space.  The Temperatures On Mercury Are Extreme, Generally Ranging From -180 Degrees To 420 Degrees.  You Would Need Heaps Of Water To Survive On Mercury.  The Very Thin Atmosphere Allows Heat To Escape Quickly, .  FACT FILE:  Distance From Sun: 58 Million KM  Diameter: 4878 KM  Rotation (Days): 58.65  Length Of Year: 0.24  Moons: None
  • 10. Venus Venus is the closest planet to the Earth and the second-largest planet to the sun. Venus is about the same size as Earth. It is the brightest object in the night sky apart from the moon. The thick clouds above the surface of Venus a mystery until space probes were able to take photographs in 1974 and 1975. Even though space probes first flew past in 1962, very little knowledge was gained. The atmosphere of Venus was so heavy and hot that early spacecraft and their instruments were either crushed or melted. The atmosphere of Venus is basically all carbon dioxide. This means that heat does no escape easily. As a result, the range of temperatures is small and the average temperature is much higher than that of Mercury, even though Venus is almost twice as far from the sun. The surface of Venus is mostly flat and rocky, with two large areas of mountains. It is not a very good place to live because of the high temperature, heavy atmosphere and the presence of sulfuric acid in the atmosphere. You would need a lot of water to survive on Venus, because the average temperature is 450 degrees.   • 11. Mars has about half the diameter of Earth.  After Earth, it’s orbit is the next-furthest from the sun. Mars  Like Mercury, it has a small pull of gravity and a thin atmosphere which consists of mainly carbon dioxide.  There is frozen water on the poles of mars that has trapped carbon dioxide in it.  If we melted this frozen water, the carbon dioxide would be freed and would trap sunlight, giving Mars and atmosphere with plants and it could be possible for people and animals to live there,  The thin atmosphere and lack of clouds made it possible to study Mars from the surface of Earth using telescopes.  This observation led to belief that their was life on Mars.  In 1976, the space probes Viking 1 and Viking 2 sent clear, close up TV pictures from the surface of Mars.  Considering the average temperature is -120 degrees to -30 degrees, you would want a lot of warm clothing.  FACT FILE:  Distance from sun: 228 Million KM  Diameter: 6, 787 KM  Rotation (Days): 1.03  Length Of Year: 1.88  Moons: 2
