To make a cake, you need to gather supplies like a bowl, flour, sugar, baking powder, milk, shortening, eggs, and a baking pan. You combine the dry ingredients, then add wet ingredients like milk and shortening and mix. Pour the batter into the greased pan and bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool before cutting into pieces and serving.
This activity can be useful to improve your students' vocabulary. Think outside the box not to work just vocabulary on fruits, and create other texts to work other topics, i.e. furniture.

6. After you added the dry ingredients, then add to your bowl, 1 1/3 cup of butter milk, 1/2 cup of shorting, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla
7. Next beat the batter with an electric mixer on low speed for 30 seconds, scraping the bowl. Then beat on medium for 2 more minutes scraping the bowl occasionally.
8. After you mixed the batter until it was smooth add the 2 cups of flour, and 4 egg whites. Again mix the batter for 2 more minutes on medium.
9. Then after you mixed the batter, pour it into a 9" greased baking pan. Then put the pan in the oven.
10. After the batter bakes in the oven for 30-35 minutes insert a toothpick into the center of the cake. If the toothpick comes out dirty or with cake crumbs on it put the cake back in the oven for about 5 more minutes.
11. Then let the cake cool outside the oven for 10 minutes. Make sure you turn the oven off!
12. Once the cake is cooled down cut the cake into 6 pieces.
