- 1. HOW TO FIND NEWS, HOW TO GATHER NEWS & HOW TO WRITE NEWS BY M A H F U Z A
- 2. HOW TO FIND NEWS • You can find news on websites, newspapers, television and other aspects of the media. • In modern society, news gets around through social media. For example WhatsApp messages or Facebook statuses. Now, people who use Snapchat can find out about the news because Snapchat has it’s own stories that can give people news and information.
- 3. HOW TO GATHER NEWS • You can gather news by going to events, speaking on the phone, observation, research, interviews and conferences. • One example would be observation. This consists of going to the place of the event and then reporting what you have seen in the form of a news story. The difference between a good story and a poor one is often in the skill of the observer.
- 4. HOW TO WRITE NEWS • Using the Five "W"s and the "H“ (who? What? When? Where? Why? How?) will create a good story. It includes all the answers that the audience would need to all of these questions. For example: • Who was the person? • What age are they? • When did the incident happen? • Where did the incident happen? • Why did the incident happen? • How did the incident happen? • News stories about other people interest people the most because they like to see what other people are doing around the country/world.
