Able to interpret and criticize the results, not just understand,
explain and communicate them
15. Deep knowledge in AI, why?
1
1
● Being able to analyze and criticize the solutions/data/algorithms/products
● Have to understand and communicate the limitations of the technology
● Data is an important part of the AI product development process. Have to be able to develop
and execute a data strategy
● Build trust with scientist and developers
16. A PM in AI: AI + Human
1
1
● We cannot expect AI algorithms to perform tasks with high confidence because of
○ Volatility in the data
○ Unseen events
● So we would need human to judge more complex cases
● Examples
○ Predictive maintenance
○ Customer Service Automation
17. A PM in AI: AI + Human
1
1
The integrated AI + Human product is heavy on the design elements due to
the presence of human users
The integration of AI and human products can provide a platform/venue to
collect labelled data
22. Summary
1
1
● AI is not hammer; it is just another set of tools to solve a problem
● To become a credible product manager in AI, you should have level 4 (out of 4) depth of
knowledge on AI (or specific branch of AI you are going to use)
● Today AI + Human is a more promising solution. Think about how you can integrate these two
elements into your products
