This document provides tips on how to automate a business and make money without having to work. It recommends starting by identifying the end goal of automation and removing yourself from day-to-day business tasks. Key steps include outsourcing non-financial elements, creating and selling packaged information products, and automating business processes using tools like email templates and workflows. The overall goal is to get the business running efficiently without needing constant manual intervention, freeing up time for higher-level tasks.

Editor's Notes
Hi everyone, Leanne here. I hope you enjoyed the glorious Bank Holiday. I have just returned from a relaxing long weekend away with a dear girl friend of mine. I hear that I sent some fabulous Spanish sun your way whilst I was over there Welcome to our “exclusive to Like Minded Women members” monthly webinar. As always we have 30 – 40 minutes to cover another juicy business subject matter so should you have a question during the training session just type it in and send it to me via the webinar tool bar – which should be located at the top right or left hand side of your screen. I plan to answer questions at the end of the webinar however if we have lots of questions I will respond to you directly via email or a call this week.
Just before I crack on I just want to make you aware of some very exciting events we have planned. On Monday 1 August we’re holding our monthly networking event in Towcester. It will be held in the Chinese restaurant so you can ‘do business’ and feel like you are really having a great night out too. This networking event will be held on the 1 st Monday of every month – I will of course invite you to each event nearer the time. Also … please mark it in your diary Friday 16 September as we have a whole day dedicated to helping you think your way to success. We’ll look at the power of positive mental attitude and how feeling great on the inside and looking good on the outside are all massive contributors to achieving your goals. Remember goals can be big or small related, to business or not, you decide what you want and we’ll help you focus on getting that at this event.
Finally, if you are interested in helping a great cause, doing your bit for charity, and really making a difference to the life of others then if you stick around after the event on 16 September at 19.00 you can participate in a fantastic mind over matter experience – walking on fire! This has been on my to do list since … I don’t know when. All you need to do is raise £200 for cancer research, participate in a two hour training programme then prove to yourself that you really can do anything if you put your mind to it.
If you are interested in anything that I have mentioned then you can learn more and book your place by visiting our website www.lmwnetwork.co.uk and clicking on the network and or special events tabs on the left hand side.
Okay … so without further a due let’s get on and discuss how to automate your business and make money whilst you sleep
In order to automating your business and making money whilst you sleep we need to determine what that actually will look like, sound like, feel like to you. So step 1 of this process is to take some time out (allow half a day) and outline exactly how you would know when your business was performing at it’s best. How your business would performeffectively without you being in it? What exactly would be happening? How would you measure that you had achieved automated success? .
Have a think – how exactly would you like your business to work in your absence? How much money would you like to earn, how many sales would you like to make, how many enquiries would you like to generate, etc. Make your end goal SMART
As an SME your business will invariably be all about you. Which is wonderful and fulfilling but ultimately it will be your downfall if you are planning to take time out of your business or expand your business in the future. So step 2 to automating your business and making money whilst you sleep is to try and remove yourself from your business
In order to remove yourself from you business you first have to understand exactly what you do. And I mean exactly. If you listened into our Time Management webinar last month I introduced an exercise to help you achieve this goal. If you didn’t listen in then please visit the LMW forum and download or view the training video on time management in the training section under personal development. You should allow half a day to one day to achieve this goal.
Star and heart – keep doing it Star and pain dot – delegate or outsource Cross and pain dot – delete Cross and heart – delete if not serving you. If you want to keep doing it do it last on your list or try and incorporate it into your business so you get paid to do it
Once you take a good hard look at what you do you will start to notice that you are possibly duplicating tasks, introducing unnecessary steps. At the end of this task you will have had some major ‘Aha’ moments – you will identify and begin to eliminate waste.
Once you have identified your tasks you can start to outsource non financial tasks/elements to specialists. You may think that you can’t afford to do that but if your chargeable time if £50 per hour why would you spend your time doing a task that is worth £8 per hour? Gain an extra client then outsource admin to a specialist in that field. They will save you time, do things quicker, and you will be freed up to get more clients of thinks of bigger and better ways to earn more money and grow your business.
Outsourcing will allow you to accelerate the growth of your business. It’s essential if you want to remove yourself from the business too. You can’t take extended holidays or serve more clients when it’s just you in the business. Outsourcing is a glorious way to grow your team without the massive financial commitment. Of course you could employ someone but if they become ill or leave you have to cover them or retrain their replacement. With outsourcing you have access to specialist who don’t need to be micro managed and usually have their own team so if someone is ill it won’t matter to you other will take over.
If you are selling a service you are selling your time. We know that you only have a limited amount of time so you can only earn a limited amount of money. Equally if you take time out of your business for holidays you are losing money so the best way to resolve or address this matter is to create a product. By creating and selling a product you are selling more than your time!!
First of all take some time out and think about your current target audience. What problems are they facing? Are you part of your target audience? If so brilliant … what problems do you face? What solution are you looking for?
Now don’t go straight out there and spend time creating a product. Test the marketing first of all.
You have to be heavily involved in your business when you introduce your new product. Document every step in your process – notice what worked what didn’t work. How did you make the sale? What steps were involved. What type of enquiries did you have? How did you answer them? How did you dispatch the product? Etc.
