How I came to
Retainment
A little bit of personal history
From the beginning of
my career I worked for the
multinational companies, which
recruited managers via agencies
And new step of career growth
outside the company
… started from interview
at recruitment agency
And after different experience
I felt myself what gets or
doesn’t get the candidate at
the recruitment agency
“Theatre begins with a hanger”…
And the “Company’s face” for TOP
manager becomes the agency
And how the agency will
handle the candidate,
Will influence future
positioning of the Company on
the labor market
Positioning is not materialistic
Marketing – it’s not battle of the
products, but the battle of
perceptions

And what is the perception of the candidate?
If Company is able to hire
qualified recruiter, so it’s
successful Company where he
wants to build the career
And the candidates gets
the “full cycle” of service
Company and position brief

From my personal experience
When I came to Razgulay holding,
the consultant facilitated my meeting
with the business owner
But not all my experience was positive …
At another agency recruiter argued, what is the
market capacity of my Company’s product, which
I knew in a great detail
And it seemed that it is clear how to work …
But in some cases the results of
the agencies were strange …
Again the case from my experience
All Companies hope that their brief will
be delivered to the candidate …

Sometimes I was surprised by the results
—Have you heard this
brief ?
—NO.
Why are they doing so?
Let’s discover why
Recruiters are not focused on «sewing a
costume for your measures», but on selling
«pre-cut suit» from the stock
And it's not recruiter’s fault
This approach does not work
for TOP management search
And for the TOP manager search you need
Not the clothing store, but personal
tailor
There is something similar in the recruitment
Retainers — your
“personal tailor” in the
market of Executive Search
But what is the difference
with the ordinary recruiters?
Are the agencies with key
expertize — search of candidates
«from scratch» in accordance
with your order
Retainers
How it works?
During the search retainer acts nearly as a
member of the Company’s team and properly
communicates values and goals of the Company
So as retainer is temporary a member of
Company’s team, the chain «client-candidate»
becomes shorter
Wide coverage of target audience at labor market
But that’s not all
Retainer knows well the client, and so
can evaluate the personal chemistry
between «Client — candidate», that is not
possible with shallow approach
To make the world
better and became
retainer!

  • 2. A little bit of personal history From the beginning of my career I worked for the multinational companies, which recruited managers via agencies
  • 3. And new step of career growth outside the company … started from interview at recruitment agency
  • 4. And after different experience I felt myself what gets or doesn’t get the candidate at the recruitment agency
  • 5. “Theatre begins with a hanger”… And the “Company’s face” for TOP manager becomes the agency
  • 6. And how the agency will handle the candidate, Will influence future positioning of the Company on the labor market
  • 7. Positioning is not materialistic Marketing – it’s not battle of the products, but the battle of perceptions Jack Trout
  • 8. And what is the perception of the candidate? If Company is able to hire qualified recruiter, so it’s successful Company where he wants to build the career
  • 9. And the candidates gets the “full cycle” of service Company and position brief Confidentiality Feedback Career consulting Follow up at all the interviews, external onboarding
  • 10. From my personal experience When I came to Razgulay holding, the consultant facilitated my meeting with the business owner
  • 11. But not all my experience was positive … At another agency recruiter argued, what is the market capacity of my Company’s product, which I knew in a great detail
  • 12. And it seemed that it is clear how to work … But in some cases the results of the agencies were strange …

  • 14. Sometimes I was surprised by the results —Have you heard this brief ? —NO.
  • 15. Why are they doing so?
  • 16. Let’s discover why Recruiters are not focused on «sewing a costume for your measures», but on selling «pre-cut suit» from the stock
  • 17. And it's not recruiter’s fault This approach does not work for TOP management search
  • 18. And for the TOP manager search you need Not the clothing store, but personal tailor
  • 19. There is something similar in the recruitment Retainers — your “personal tailor” in the market of Executive Search
  • 20. But what is the difference with the ordinary recruiters? Are the agencies with key expertize — search of candidates «from scratch» in accordance with your order Retainers
  • 21. How it works? During the search retainer acts nearly as a member of the Company’s team and properly communicates values and goals of the Company So as retainer is temporary a member of Company’s team, the chain «client-candidate» becomes shorter Wide coverage of target audience at labor market
  • 22. But that’s not all Retainer knows well the client, and so can evaluate the personal chemistry between «Client — candidate», that is not possible with shallow approach
