● For many individuals, working with a retained executive
search firm is an ideal way to find the positions that
most closely match their skills and career ambitions.
● Some individuals lack the industry connections to locate
promising opportunities, while others lack the resources
necessary to conduct such a search.
● Whatever the reason, retained executive search firms
have helped countless professionals advance their
careers.
● Before retaining the services of an executive
search firm, it is important to conduct
preliminary research.
● Some firms specialize by industry, while
others focus on a specific type of position.

Professionalism
● Candidates should also conduct themselves in a
professional manner at all times. By returning phone
calls in a timely fashion, for example, candidates ensure
that recruiters will call them first with exciting
opportunities.
● In the same vein, candidates should discuss all new
positions with their families and have a clear picture of
what they want in a job. If relocating for a position is out
of the questions, it’s best not to waste the client’s time
and money on an interview.
