Resilience is the universal human capacity to face, overcome, and even be strengthened by experiences of adversity - bending like bamboo instead of breaking. How we cultivate our inner focus is by taking steps on our personal journey with resilience. This is the focus of this presentation.

Why do so many of us find ourselves leading lives very different to the ones we dream of? Why is it that some people seem able to always make their voice heard, while others find their voice is constantly drowned out?
7 eye opening ways meditation can help your personal developmentShivaniKotian2
Meditation is a combination of deep relaxation and awareness. It is a technique for calming the mind and connecting with one's actual self. We grow so engrossed in the complications of our hectic life that we lose touch with our actual nature. Every person possesses an infinite supply of delight. Love is a part of who we are at our core. Our actual Self is love, and meditation, the age-old practise of quiet the mind, is the method to find it. It is the boundless joy and calm that we experience when we meditate, when we sit motionless for a few minutes with ourselves.
Miracles will happen to you, too-when you begin using the magic power of your subconscious mind. This book is designed to teach you that your habitual thinking and imagery mould, fashion, and create your destiny.
Increasingly people are seeking ways to expand their personalities, grow psychologically and spiritually. The individual naturally seeks to become a better, happier person – but have you ever wondered exactly how to do that?
How to control your mind? - By Sandeep MaheshwariYoogle Vejiya
We as human beings are driven by the Mind. The Mind that persistently seeks pleasure and avoids pain. It only thinks about now and what’s immediate. Labeling things in a certain way, the mind differentiates pleasure from pain purely from the immediate point of view. It is short sighted and turns blind when it comes to thinking about the consequences. For the Mind, there’s no right or wrong. Instincts are what drive the mind. So conditioned are we by the Mind that we are used to seeing things in a certain way; do things the way we have always done. However, when we learn to control our mind and master our thinking, it is only then we have the power and freedom to change our lives profoundly.

“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but habit.” – Aristotle...Thus our character is a composite of our habits. “Sow a thought, reap an action, sow an action, reap a habit, sow a character, reap a destiny”, the maxim goes.
It takes but the Spirit to connect with the Soul
& the Mind to be attuned to the Body. When a sense of permanence is lost by that which filled a valuable place, the loss requires a transformation that becomes the "Move into You".

Leading with Mindfulness: An Introduction Faisal Hoque
“There has never been more need for mindful leaders.
They are far better at inspiring people to create sustainable impacts than frenetic, aggressive ones.”
Digital transformation can be defined as a process whereby an organization shifts their business models, processes, and organizational culture with digital technologies to adapt to changing customer behaviors. They adapt to meet ever-changing customer expectations and engage with consumers in innovative ways. Transformational journeys require acurate assessments, learning, growth, and monitoring of:
1) People and Culture;
2) Capacity and Capabilities;
3) Innovation; and
4) Technology.
Future of Work with AI and Machine LearningFaisal Hoque
Because AI, machine learning, and deep learning can all be loosely grouped under the same umbrella, its best to think of the trio working in concert to help organizations work smarter, better, and faster. And while all three are still in their infancies on the technological growth curve, it is already impacting in ways that we may not even realize.
Achieving Operational Excellence With AI And Machine LearningFaisal Hoque
Operational excellence enables an enterprise and its leadership to continuously improve all areas of performance, including decision-making, ongoing investment, profitability, customer and partner services and human resources capabilities.
How To Transform And Lead In The Age of Agility And InnovationFaisal Hoque
Transformation is driven by an acknowledged need to grow and change, followed by thinking differently about the old ways and means.
The term transformation originated with biology and genetics. In short, biological transformation refers to the introduction of something organic and systemic that can change the essential nature of a cell. Its purpose is to invoke change. The transformative process is nearly identical for every organization today: introduce a new goal, add the variable, and transform it into creativity and innovation.
Presented by Faisal Hoque at the #AirBus Leadership University.
“These tumultuous times can present us with ground-breaking opportunities for changing how we see the world, and how we operate within it.” - WEF
The constant cascade of social, economic, and technological change is reshaping our globe. Workforces are increasingly dispersed, demanding of self-expression, and quite possibly disengaged. Within this topsy-turvy context, leaders must spark #creativity, drive #innovation, and ensure #sustainability.
What are the remedies? The newest problems of the world find solutions in the oldest and timeless practices such as #mindfulness, authenticity, perseverance, and #empathy―because Everything Connects.
Being different has always mattered, but now it matters even more. Setting yourself apart from the competition is Entrepreneurship 101, but it’s since evolved into putting yourself in a whole new world from the competition. Why compete on the same playing field when you can invent a whole new one and make up the rules as you go along? Here is the mindset, platform, and capabilities you will need to succeed. Why Agility Drives Innovation And DisruptionFaisal Hoque
One of the greatest challenges business leaders and, by extension, their enterprises face in today’s disruptive world is the ability to respond quickly to constant, unforeseen changes like this one. When someone comes out of left field with an idea that turns your market sideways, how are you going to get your whole organization to adapt on a dime?
An entrepreneur's tips for staying strong.
Everyone has a different relationship with pressure. Some are motivated by it, some like to nip it in the bud, while other prefer to delegate it.
Here are a few tips that have helped me in my own journey.
Do Accelerators And Incubators Serve Themselves Better Than Startups?Faisal Hoque
There are now more support resources for startups than ever. Trouble is, most oversell and under-deliver.
There are literally thousands of startup accelerators, incubators, coworking spaces, innovation hubs, government-funded small business associations, university programs, and more.
So far, many are delivering too great a share of the wins only to themselves, leaving a long road behind them littered with failed startups and sterling intentions.

9 Powerful Habits To Develop In 2016 -- No Matter What You DoFaisal Hoque
Look at things with a beginner's mind. A beginner's mind allows us to embrace the highest emotional qualities — such as enthusiasm, zeal, and optimism — to creatively move ourselves forward.
Success can be reached in a multitude of ways. The road you take is dependent upon what you want out of life.
Success is also subjective; if one chooses to live within one’s means and owes no debts, he or she may consider him- or herself successful, whereas another may see success in the numbers in their bank account.
Regardless of the definition, when we think of successful people, what attributes generally come to mind?
Happy. Confident. Relaxed. Positive. Strong.
As we get ready to welcome a new year and bid goodbye to another, I thought I’d share some of the habits I plan to practice this coming year to get through my adventures (both good and bad).

Five Business Trends To Watch In 2016 -- No Matter How Or Where You WorkFaisal Hoque
From big data to the gig economy, 2016 may be the year that familiar buzzwords start having real, mainstream impact.
1. The Gig Economy Creates More Opportunities
2. Big Data Gets Even Bigger
3. Social Selling Goes Mainstream
4. Lean Businesses Will Win
5. Generation Z Comes Into Focus
Depending on the sort of entrepreneur, employee, freelancer, or company leader you might be, the year ahead holds varying degrees of promise and pitfalls. Some of the changes afoot are already affecting some more than others.
But optimism is itself a strategic asset—as long as it's backed up by a strong grasp of the facts. With that in mind, here's a look at some of the business trends that seem most likely to impact professionals of all stripes in the year ahead.
How Do The Classic “7PS” Of Marketing Stack Up In The Era Of Social Media?
Back in the 1960s, marketing guru E. Jerome McCarthy introduced the “4Ps” of marketing to drive revenue growth: product, price, promotion, and place. That formula was later expanded to “7Ps,” and while they remain a sound starting point for any organization analyzing its growth strategy, the rules for implementing them have changed.
Digital communication technologies are altering consumer behavior in ways McCarthy and his adherents could never have imagined. Here’s my own take on three new pieces of the puzzle that every growth-minded company needs to bear in mind.

7 Ways to Practice Positivity and Optimism Every DayFaisal Hoque
Positive thinking helps us to be healthier, more productive and ultimately happier. Yet for most of us it is hard to practice optimism on a regular basis.
By now the benefits of positive thinking are well established. Sages, psychologists, neuroscientists, researchers and doctors all have been espousing the benefits of positive thinking for hundreds of years.
I am fascinated by the human quest to understand the underpinnings of positive thinking. From Epictetus to Ralph Waldo Emerson to Buddha to Dr. Martin Seligman to Oprah, I seek every bit of inspiring wisdom I can to practice optimism.
Here are my seven essential mantras that I find helpful to keep myself on a positive track.
Changing self-doubt into self-belief is a choice. We are answerable for ourselves. Only we can change what and who we are.
Everyone is generally familiar with the adage, ‘If you believe it, then you can achieve it.’ The great question to ask is whether or not we truly believe in the old adage. The biggest enemies of success are negativity and self-doubt. Sometimes we set out to accomplish something yet our surroundings scream that we cannot. And we wallow in self-doubt. Allow me to share what I have been learning about overcoming self-doubt.

9 Essential Principles For Growing Your Business.
Ask any entrepreneur what their biggest challenge is and they will probably say scaling and sustaining growth, but it isn’t a new problem. Sustainable growth in economics is defined as growth considering that resources are finite and that the rate of resource depletion must be slowed in order to have long-term growth.
What Every Entrepreneur Should Know Before Taking Any Outside InvestmentFaisal Hoque
The Hard Truths About Seeking Outside Investment. If you are going to build a company with outside capital, one of the most critical decisions you will make is who will be your investor.
While there are numerous arguments for why you should and shouldn’t raise capital for your business—that’s a topic for a different time—irrespective of the path, every entrepreneur should know some fundamental realities of funding structure before accepting any funding whatsoever.
Funding can actually kill your venture, especially when there is a major disconnect between you and your investor. The disconnect can occur in three major categories.
9 Essential Principles for Creating Successful Partnerships - Today’s stranger may be tomorrow's partner. “It doesn't matter how smart or savvy we are when it comes to technology, product development or any single skill. Nobody succeeds in a silo. Whatever we venture—personal, professional, philanthropic, political, or private—we must remember the people involved in and essential to our success.
Relax The Mind And Productivity Will FollowFaisal Hoque
Workplace stress can be as dangerous to health as secondhand smoke, according to a large review of studies by researchers at Harvard Business School and Stanford University. There are a number of scientific studies now show the deep connection between staying calm and productivity. Here are 10 ways to stay calm in the face of daily stress.
Authenticity does not come from title, social stature, or the size of one's paycheck but rather from how we live. It is about how we go about pursue our dreams in our own unique way. Truly authentic people lead with their soul. Along with fearless passion and courage, they possess relentless mental discipline. Each one of us is born to make an authentic contribution. Here are some of the disciplines and practices derived from my own experience and learning that may help you in your own journey.
The case study discusses the potential of drone delivery and the challenges that need to be addressed before it becomes widespread.
Key takeaways:
Drone delivery is in its early stages: Amazon's trial in the UK demonstrates the potential for faster deliveries, but it's still limited by regulations and technology.
Regulations are a major hurdle: Safety concerns around drone collisions with airplanes and people have led to restrictions on flight height and location.
Other challenges exist: Who will use drone delivery the most? Is it cost-effective compared to traditional delivery trucks?
Discussion questions:
Managerial challenges: Integrating drones requires planning for new infrastructure, training staff, and navigating regulations. There are also marketing and recruitment considerations specific to this technology.
External forces vary by country: Regulations, consumer acceptance, and infrastructure all differ between countries.
Demographics matter: Younger generations might be more receptive to drone delivery, while older populations might have concerns.
Stakeholders for Amazon: Customers, regulators, aviation authorities, and competitors are all stakeholders. Regulators likely hold the greatest influence as they determine the feasibility of drone delivery.

2. This presentation is structured around the concepts
brought forth by “Survive to Thrive” Book.
The book draws from three critical mantras: I am, I have,
and I can. The book offers powerful approaches to diffuse
strong emotion in the moment of crisis, and opens up
opportunities for re-examining your personal definition of
success. The book illuminates how anyone can attain the
resilience that’s required to repeatedly push forward in the
face of conflict.
It contains the summary lessons from the part one of
the book:
• Lesson One: I Am Redefining
• Lesson Two: Am Shaping My Destiny
• Lesson Three: I Am Moving Forward
3. “Resiliency is an attitude; it's your belief
that you can conquer anything. It is the
ability to go from days to weeks to months to
years to reach your destination, defining and re-
defining your personal goals along the way. At
times, it means using adversity to find the
opportunities that lead us to our true
destiny.”
- Survive to Thrive
4. “I hear you say – ‘How unlucky that this should happen to
me.’
But not at all.
Perhaps say instead ‘How lucky I am that I am not
broken by what has happened, and I am not afraid of
what is about to happen. For the same blow might have
stricken anyone, but not many who would have absorbed it
without capitulation and complaint’.”
- Meditations, Marcus Aurelius
5. “Hope is the eternal tool in the survival kit
for mankind. We hope for a little luck, we hope
for a better tomorrow, we hope – although it is
impossible hope – to somehow get out of this
world alive. And if we can’t and don’t, then it is
enough to rejoice in our short time here and to
remember how much we loved the view.”
- Life Beyond Measurement, Sidney Poitier
6. “For this is what we do. Put one foot forward and
then the other.
...Think. Act. Feel.
…Push our brave hearts into the promise of a
new day. With love: the passionate search for a
truth other than our own. With longing: the pure,
ineffable yearning to be saved. For so long as fate
keeps waiting, we live on.
…We live on.”
– Shantaram, Gregory David Roberts
7. I Am
- Lesson One: I Am Redefining Priorities
- Lesson Two: I Am Shaping My Destiny
- Lesson Three: I Am Moving Forward
8. Creating your thoughts, following your own path,
ignoring skeptics, and dusting yourself off every time
you fall requires discipline over energy and drive.
Often, that comes solely from within. How we
cultivate that inner focus is by taking steps on
our personal journey with resilience, which is
the focus of this presentation.
An authentic and inspiring purpose allows for:
»» emotional engagement to claim our destiny
»» focus by redefining our priorities
»» pragmatic paths to move forward
9. “From Aristotle to Buddha, Rumi to Steve Jobs, Kahlil
Gibran to Paulo Coelho, many revered thinkers and
talents have said that the path to an authentic
journey is to know yourself, to be guided by an
inner voice.
To be authentic, you must be “awake,” meaning you
have the ability to understand who you are, what you
want to be, and how you want to fit in the world.”
- Everything Connects, Faisal Hoque
10.
11.
12.
13. Lesson One: I Am Redefining Priorities
I am nurturing empathy. When we empathize with
others, our sense of identity is connected to others. As a
result, we feel greater in some way and less alone.
I am able to manifest my success. How we think creates
the energy that ultimately manifests into success. If we go
into a situation with a negative thought process, then we
seem destined for a negative outcome.
I am achieving stillness. Mindfulness and meditation
quiet our mental restlessness. Mental restlessness often
includes judgment of others and ourselves, which diminishes
our ability to fully connect with the present moment.
14. “When we put concentrated
effort in recognizing others'
sufferings, it allows us to put
our sufferings into
perspective.”
- Survive to Thrive
15.
16.
17.
18. Beginner's mind is a practice of approaching our experiences empty of
assumptions.
A beginner's mind is what allows us to embrace the highest emotional
qualities such as enthusiasm, zeal and optimism to creatively move
ourselves forward.
Above all, navigate
with a beginner's mind.
19.
20. Lesson Two: I Am Shaping My Destiny
I am able to guide my destiny. Destiny results
from intention. Our spiritual will can be something that
drives us to do what seems impossible.
I am able to manifest my success. How we think creates the
energy that ultimately manifests into success. If we go into a
situation with a negative thought process, then we seem
destined for a negative outcome.
I am capable of healing myself. “There isn’t any quicker
way to boost spirits than smiling and laughing. Research shows
that laughter increases endorphins, those “feel-good” chemicals
that travel through the body, typically while exercising.”
21. “The challenge for anyone is to understand
themselves and what they really want. Have a
personal conversation about that. Ask yourself
what you would most desire. Then decide what
steps it will take to get there. We create
our destiny every day by being conscious
about our decisions, how they will affect
ourselves and others, and still be able to summon
the courage to continue moving forward.”
- Survive to Thrive
22.
23.
24.
25.
26.
27.
28. Lesson Three: I Am Moving Forward
I am developing healthy rituals. Repetition helps us
develop habits in our lives. Choosing to do the right thing, even
when we do not feel like it, creates good habits. Mastery
follows, coming from an enthusiastic and devoted practice.
I am finding balance. When we face major challenges in life,
we often think we need to work harder and longer in order to
overcome our hurdles. Working longer hours, especially when
we are tired, actually makes us less productive.
I am achieving small goals every day. Being overwhelmed
with too many things to do at once is a choice. The fewer tasks
we try to do, the more effectively we tackle the tasks at hand.
29. “There is just no substitute for ritualistic
hard work.
As a very basic example, waking up at the same
time creates predictability, the structure of
which allows for sustainable daily productivity.
Highly resilient people work harder than most
people can ever imagine. They tend not to
dwell on things, they find their strength
by staying devoted to their craft.”
- Survive to Thrive
30.
31.
32. “Success comes from balance and the natural
progression of things—often with less-than-perfect
paths and outcomes.
As one ancient Eastern folk tale narrates—if you pull
the string too tight, it will snap. If you leave it
too loose, it will not make music. So is the path
to growth and contentment.”
- Everything Connects, Faisal Hoque
33.
34. Writing is a way to find inspiration for
yourself and others.
“When you write for yourself, it can
propel you to explore your inner self
— your journey, your struggles, your
inspirations, and your purpose.”
Write Frequently
“I can shake off
everything as I write;
my sorrows disappear,
my courage is reborn.”"
- Anne Frank"
35. Food is the most fundamental of needs
for our survival and almost every major
event in our lives revolves around it.
The process of making food teaches us to
be mindful, embrace creativity, and push
for mastery.
Cook More Often.
36. “As we mature our own personal techniques and
disciplines, it is very possible to be involved in
multiple initiatives. However, limiting goals for
each initiative to measureable outcomes is
what allows us not to overwhelm
ourselves into a state of submission and
defeat.
Our bodies work in cycles. There are times of the
day that are most productive as well as times that
are quite the opposite. The most effective
way of staying productive is to learn your
cycle.”
