The opening credits feature dramatic music and red typography against a black background to set a tense mood. Transition shots introduce the location and production company in a creative way. A red-lit house is shown as the target, surrounded by soldiers to increase tension around why this man is being pursued. The confusing and suspenseful shots engage audiences in the unfolding narrative.

1. The opening starts with the production companies name to introduce the film. The sound of the
drums at a major key makes it feel quite tense and gives a serious/edgy mood especially with
the use of red typography against a black background almost acts as a warning.

2. The opening credits are introduced with a smooth transition where the writing pans up and is zoomed
in on. The transitions are soft as the background is faded in from black to the camera using a bird shot
normally for an establishment of the location-it compliments the use of the beat and trumpet sound
makes it feel quite dramatic and tense. This represents an opening of a scene where the audience is
being told the narrative and it already gives the impression that its set in an industrialised or working
class area. The typography is in red and denoted in the centre to be the first focus from the audience.
This sums up to a dramatic introduction giving it a serious and sharp mood.

3. The lens then fades from black: to open another scene where the camera tracks forward zooming in on
an city/ built up area; so the camera is travelling slowly into the city. (This movement may be to build
up the climax) The name of the producer is shown on a brick wall-a good way of presenting the
opening credits makes it seem quite creative and gets the audience to become adapted to the style of
the film and even gets us to focus on the location. The colours used such as red, Black give it this
gothic look and depressed feeling: where the connotations of deep red can be blood or violence and
the whole idea of having darkness covering half the city could be to create this sense of a mystery or
confusion. The camera movement emphasises the drama and reinforces the establishing
shot/(previous shot).

4. A cut shot shows the camera panning downwards about the sky where helicopters are shown in the far
distance represents the violence and action, the camera continues going down along tall buildings to reveal
the names of the character-this is where the major trumpet sound goes off to build this climax. This is yet
again reinforced by the shot from before. Where we are now placed inside the city/built up area. The whole
idea of having the camera up against tall buildings almost makes it seem as though we are trying to hide
behind them and this makes it feel like we are placed within the narrative. The main focus here is the name
of this famous actor; and it automatically gives us the impression that he is the main character.
The dirty scratched effect on the walls of the buildings almost makes it feel as its been vandalised/ us of one
represents cities where crime takes place etc.

5. The camera then cuts to show a birds eye view shot at a high angle which connotes the
dominance and makes it feel as though we have authority. The whole idea of using red(makes
it stand out from the sepia background) for the title shows its importance and reinforces this
idea of this violence /war and dominance. At this point the title swivels in (use of editing) to
be aligned with the road and denoted in-between the buildings. This is the main shot
throughout the opening as the non- digetic sound starts to build up from this point as we hear
the ambient of an ambulance which connotes the danger. Everything seems to be frozen
which creates this enigma for why it is frozen and why is it presented in this way which is what
keep the target audience enagaged.

6. This acts as a continuity shot /eye line match as first the camera was placed at a birds eye view and
now it is placed at a low angle tilted up and is swirling backwards introducing another actors name.
The buildings reinforce this idea of dominance and it places the audience in the city. It even creates
this enigma that these helicopters are shown again hovering above the city giving this sense of and
action.

7. Here the camera pans out where the main focus is on the house since its lighted in red-acts as an
enigma code as the audience now becomes curious about why this house is being targeted and its
even represented in a animated way as though we are placed within a war game; we get this
impression from the use sepia makes it makes it seem as though the scene is in time freeze so it
already places the audience within a scene that’s taking place. The movement of the camera starts to
build up the idea that its putting us in a position as a spy/soldier as that’s how it is normally shown in
warfare games, where the camera is slowly targeting a subject.

8. A crane shot is used panning sideways where we see a close up of the helicopters wing-however this
is a still image but the helicopter seems to be moving sideways so it ‘s almost as if we are hovering
above the helicopter going on a journey with them we even see a glimpse of the red house again
which signifies that this is definitely the target as the soldiers are also ready for action and this
starts to build the tension and climax especially with the use of ambient sounds of the helicopter, so
the movement starts to develop and so does the sound.

9. The camera pans up to a close up of a phone and then
cuts to a close up of the gun which yet again connotes
the violence, and builds the suspense of danger and we
can tell that something is about to happen and it sums
up the whole narrative from the previous shots. All of a
sudden the scene comes out of freeze and the whole
image is presented through a more realistic way where
we know we are placed within an action sequence.
The man is shown injured and holding a gun in his hand
as he is talking violently on the phone. This is very
confusing for the audience to understands what's going
on but we are still engaged and it makes us want to find
out why this man is running away?
After when the scene opens the camera pans out of the
house and back onto the mise-en-scene with a wide shot
where the whole town is established this gives the
impression to the audience that he is surrounded by the
military and this portrays the seriousness and makes us
wonder why they need to catch him.
