2. Why Universal Studios is most suitable for
my Film.
• Universal studios were the first studio in the early 30s to dive into the genre of
horror. Classics such as Frankenstein, Dracula,The invisible man and the Mummy.
Without Universal put horror films on the map.
• After the decline in popularity of horror, after being labelled as silly and childish. It
was again universal studios that created more psychology, gore and fright back
into to horror films.They are also responsible for demand in popularity seen in
horror films in the late 90s and 2000s. They still making huge successful horror
blockbusters such as purge election year, unfriended, women in black 2 and
sinister 2
• This is why, I think Universal studios is best institution for my film as it has tons of
experience in the genre. People see a horror film being promoted by Universal and
know it will be a huge success.

3. Why will it be Successful ?
• The basic outline for my film is a generic haunted house scenario.These films in
my opinion are the best as they are the most frightening and really most relatable.
After all we all have houses and being haunted by something we don’t understand
would scare anybody. Meaning that the film could reach a mass audience.
• This alone is enough to make the film successful but with the financial backing,
the film can reach mass target audience.

4. How can the trailer be conventional to the
genre and form.
• I have done a lot of research into both conventions of form and genre therefore
know what they are and how to use them.
• For example, conventions of form would be having production company logos in
the trailer, showing the film title, introducing the characters and plot, having the
right time length on the trailer, name captions and music and voiceovers.
• There are a lot more conventions of genre and I have made a Prezi showing that I
understand and know all the conventions of genre associated with horror film
trailers.

5. TargetAudience
• Horror films are targeted at adults due to how scary nature. That may explain why
horror movies are most popular with younger audiences.Teens and twenty-
somethings are more likely to look for intense experiences. This is why my trailer
would appeal to the target audience because it follows the conventions needed to
make someone feel frightened.
