The WHEELS project aims to develop a multiplatform application to generate accessible routes for elderly and disabled people in urban areas. The application seeks to improve mobility and quality of life for people with reduced mobility by reducing travel times and identifying barrier-free routes. It also aims to promote local commerce by designating people with reduced mobility as a priority customer group and encouraging shops to eliminate architectural barriers with government assistance. The project will be implemented over three years with a budget of 12 million Euros and is expected to financially benefit 1175 local businesses and improve the quality of life for over 169 people with disabilities per month.
