Re-imagining the movie theatre experience - Kiran ReddyDeepthi Shankar
This document discusses reimagining the movie theatre experience through experience design. It outlines that experience is the true differentiator for businesses in a commoditized environment. The core elements of a cinema experience are watching the movie, with the inner experience including areas like the lobby and concessions. Guidelines for experience design include mapping the existing experience, brainstorming ideal experiences, focusing on multisensory interactions, and using technology to enhance personalization and engagement while reducing negative interactions. The goal is to create sustainable differentiation through continuous improvement and innovation.
This document discusses the concept of the experience economy and value creation through experiences. It notes that personal and business values are changing as individuals become creators of meaningful value and businesses must rethink their purpose. The experience economy framework involves innovation, experience value propositions, experience technologies, developing skills, and earning money. Businesses are encouraged to rethink their purpose, create compelling experiences through engagement and community, use social technologies, and shift value to customers.

New forms of value creation are emerging above the radar. Traditional business models wil become obsolete and suffer a slow death. Companies that will create meaningful value and will contribute to the quality of our life and society will grow.
De belevenis economie is een vertaling van Experience Economy. De term is door beschreven in het gelijknamige boek uit 1999 door B. Joseph Pine en James H. Gilmore.

This is from the book the Experience Economy. I was playing with my new macbook pro and thought i could do a nice visual to post. Considering we all talk about the brand experience at the moment. Its an interesting way to model how your create and continue to build your brand experiences
The document discusses the "experience economy" framework developed by Pine and Gilmore. It describes the progression from commodities to goods to services to experiences, with experiences defined as memorable events that engage customers. Experiences are distinguished from services in that they intentionally use services and goods to create an event. The framework outlines two dimensions - customer participation and connection - that define four experience realms. Effective experience design includes a theme, cues, and engaging multiple senses to create memorable impressions.

OnsBlok presentation at Thingscon Salon, Eindhoven, July 8 2016Peter van Waart
The document discusses the OnsBlok project, which aims to empower citizens to create smart devices themselves using ready-made components. It poses the question of why citizens cannot make their own smart things, just as they can bake cakes or assemble furniture, if provided with basic connected blocks and sensor plugins. The project is part of Creating 010, a research center at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences that uses participatory and transdisciplinary approaches to design for smart and inclusive cities.
The document discusses designing meaningful education experiences for students. It summarizes a student experience survey conducted at Rotterdam University with students and other stakeholders. The survey found that negative experiences stemmed from feelings of non-existence, lack of trust in the organization, and not receiving enough personal feedback. It identified structural problems in facilities, information distribution, and teacher behaviors. The survey also mapped students' emotional journeys and needs throughout their studies. It concludes with recommendations to enhance the student experience by acknowledging students, providing feedback, giving students more control, and improving communication.

The Meaning of (Branded) Pervasive Technology in Public SpacePeter van Waart
This document discusses the meaning and impact of pervasive technology in public spaces. It argues that for such technology to be meaningful, it must enhance social capital and shared values among users. Brands that develop pervasive systems should focus on addressing human values and needs for meaning. When done right, branded pervasive technology can empower users to socially interact and collaboratively generate meaningful content. However, determining what has meaning is subjective and depends on the interpretation of individual users.
Betekenisvol Ontwerpen in de Stad: Betekenisvolle merkervaringenPeter van Waart
This document discusses the concept of meaningful advertising in the experience economy. It argues that advertising should align with human values to be truly meaningful. People derive meaning from their interactions and experiences with products, services, and brands. For advertising to be meaningful, it should address people at an intellectual, emotional, and physical level through various touchpoints, and be adapted to their personal values, goals, and motivations. The goal of meaningful advertising is to create experiences, not just sell more products, by enhancing people's well-being.
This document summarizes a workshop on meaningful advertising and pervasive advertising in the experience economy. The workshop addressed how advertising is shifting from persuasive TV-based advertising to creating meaningful experiences by addressing customers' intellect, emotions, and physical experiences through orchestrated touchpoint interactions. Meaningful advertising was defined as enhancing social capital and shared goals/values over time. Examples of intellectual, emotional, and physical customer interactions through advertising were provided.
