Workshop objectives
• To describe nursing training and education
programs offered in institutions around Haiti
• To provide details about the new government-
developed Nursing curriculum
• To identify topics of greatest need and interest to
Haitian nurses
• To explain how to use case studies in teaching
• To use Vidyo (videoconferencing) to enhance
lectures and educational needs

the workshop?
• Interaction of Nursing Leaders
• Vision of the DSI for Nursing Training
• Review of the New Nursing Curriculum
• Valid and useful subjects
• Communication and exchange of ideas among the
participants (debate)
• Group discussion
• Case Studies
• Being in the same room with fantastic and strong nursing
leaders
• Everyone seemed to happy to be together and discuss
issues which affect them – Great networking
What was the least valuable part of
the workshop for you?
• Don’t have the workshops on weekends
• Distribute copies of the presentations to all
• Side discussions (unrelated to workshop)
• Less to no value on oral recap- perhaps a
printed version of the recap would have been
more useful
List of things you would like to see changed
when (if) we have future meetings
• Future of nurses who graduated from 3 year program
• More Scientific presentations
• Level of interest of nurses
• More continuing education discuss
• Suggest having different subjects
• To be better prepared to handle technology issues- Better and more
updated equipment
• An evening Dinner would have been nice
• Requiring specific actions to be taken at the end of the workshop
• More presentations by nurses and/or Nursing assistants
• More Representation of Nursing Assistant educators
• More representations from public institutions
• Prepare a report to share with key Health members
• Allocate more time for discussions

• Happy to have participated in this workshop;
need more nursing engagement
• It would be nice to invite us to similar
conferences in the USA
• Need to organize more frequent workshops
• It would be great to have a certificate of
attendance at the end of the workshop
• This was a wonderful event
