Skakespeare and his style of writing
Shakespeare s plays are a product of the Elizabethan theatrical context in which they were first
performed. A lot of pressure was put on Shakespeare as he wrote his plays because he was not
allowed to upset the royal family. His style would have been different than others in those times and
a lot more thought has gone into his writing than people listening would think. Usually, the
audience take for granted the cleverness and thought of Shakespeare s writing, however, now we
have studied and gone into great detail about Shakespeare s writing, we can appreciate it more than
they did:
The Globe Theatre was where Shakespeare had most of his plays performed. It had many
decorations to make it look appealing and to try and to make it seem ... Show more content on

For example, they say Bernado, and Holla Barnado and Say what, is Horatio there? He also
cunningly tells us the people in the play are: And liegeman to the Dane , the rivals of my watch
and Friends to the ground . This tells us that Horatio and Marcellus are the good guys and it also
tells us their role in the play the watch.
Also, Shakespeare sets the scene. Dialogue has to compensate for the lack of real night time. He
does this by using dialogue like: Tis now struck twelve and Who s there? Stand and unfold
yourself , and Give you good night. He also tells us what the night is like, Tis bitter cold, and Not a
mouse stirring. This all tells us that the night is cold, quiet, just gone twelve and nothing much is
happening, without the use of real darkness.
Shakespeare also uses hidden stage directions for the actors sake, for instance, Barnado says Get
thee to bed Francisco which is really telling the actor to leave the stage. Shakespeare also says
Barnado hath my place. Give you good night which tells the other actors that he will be leaving
the stage. This also tells the audience that Barnado is taking over his place from then on. Barnado
also says, Sit down a while then Horatio says Well, sit we down which means that they should sit
down.
Furthermore, Shakespeare will use the actors as narrators. They would tell the audience what is
happening, but at the same time they would be playing their part in the play. For

Staples Incorporated, By Founder Tom Stemberg
Corporate Overview
Staples Incorporated, began in 1985 by founder Tom Stemberg. Tom Stemberg with experience in
the supermarket chain eventually became an entrepreneur. Tom wanted to make a local supply
store/ stationary store to buy a supply Tom needed, many stores didn t offer what he desired. The
idea then came to him that The world needed a supermarket for office products (Stemberg 1985).
Staples then became the very first office supply store. The first store was opened May 1, 1986 in
Brighton, MA. In the years to come, competition started to arise, in result Staples came up with
their very first slogan Yeah, we ve got that this help staples get a lead in the competition with Office

The Demographic, is practiced by the occupation and how the business is based on office supplies,
Demographic is the main one on Staples market segmentation, most of the consumers come in
because they are looking for products that must do with office supplies, where it be paper, file
cabinets, binders and most things one can think of. The last and final one is Psychographic, in
marketing this is the most needed and it focuses a lot on Pathos. Pathos is used in Staples by once
again the Eco Easy. The Eco Easy focuses on making the environment greener and by buying
products from staples you are helping the environment. Now this attracts green people especially
the business men who want to see a change in the environment they can contribute by buying these
products. Evaluating market segments is critical to marketing strategy development.
(FrogDog2012.) These market segments I think are very important to companies because it helps
them get the competitive edge and advantage when trying to market the products. This also comes
with the slogan that Staples has, the marketing from That was Easy is the bread and butter of the
company.
Product and Service Analysis
The product that Staples provides targets the geographic, demographic, and psychographic by

also contained all the components we associate with the modern day computer, printer, tape

been accepted universally by computer industry to be a model T. By 1965 most large business
routinely processed financial information using this developed computer. It was a stored program

function known as program were held inside the computer s memory, and could quickly be replaced

this language replaced cryptic binary machine code with words, sentence, and mathematical

The image below is a simplified view of a CPU. Define and describe each part and the role it plays
in the CPU
PC: The Program Counter (PC) holds the address of the current instruction being executed or
decoded.
IR: The Instruction Register (IR) is the part of the CPU s control unit that holds the instruction
currently being executed or decoded.
Control Unit: The Control Unit controls the fetching of instructions from the main memory and the
subsequent execution of these instructions.
ALU: The Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU) carries out arithmetic operations on integer (whole
number) and real (with decimal point) operands. At the end of each ALU operation, the status
output signals are usually stored in external registers to make them available for future ALU
operations.
Register X and Y: The CPU register is one of a small set of data storing places that are part of the
computer processor. They may hold any kind of data, storage address or instruction.
The CPU contains 3 busses: The control bus, the address bus and the data bus.
What is a bus?
In computer design, a bus is a communication system that transfers information between
components inside a computer, or amongst computers. This expression covers all related hardware

Prodigious Moments In The Hobbit
The Hobbit, written by J. R. R. Tolkien, is an audacious novel, containing numerous evocative
encounters and tedious gatherings, as it has many readers hooked since it is one of the top fantasy
novels. In Wilderland, the fantasy world in which this novel takes place, there are many prodigious
moments, which gave readers the feeling that one is with Bilbo Bagginsfinding the ring, solving
the mind puzzling riddles, and escaping the goblins, who were hunting the entire palace to avenge
themselves of the captain s passing. The author provides valuable imagery when he describes
when Bilbo finds the ring, saying, his hand met what felt like a tiny ring of cold metal lying on the
floor if the tunnel. It was a turning point in his career, but he

Crime Scene Searches
The Legal Challenges to Crime Scene Searches The examination of the crime scene is the most
vital phase conducted at the scene of a crime. Investigation of crime scene is more than just
showing up, taking a few photos, and calling it a day; there is more to it that. There are some legal
challenges to crimescene investigation that unfortunately as vital as this portion is can get screwed
up sometimes, sometimes even intentionally. Throughout an investigation mistakes, ethics, and
biases play a vital role. When mistakes or bad ethnical decisions occur and individuals either gets
off on a technicality or possibly are falsely accused through bad evidence; these types of blunders
expose why it is critical that a crime scene is processed properly.

Potential Of Innocence In Dracula
It seems a simple task to create the potential of fear. People have grown to fear mainly similar
things and ultimately anything that endangers the innocent part of human kind. Sadly, there is only
a slight hint of true innocence that exists in us as humans. How come fear intrueges us, it is not
the knowing of its unrealness, because for a moment there, it seems real. Therefore it is an art,
how can one be freigthened and fascinated in its most beautiful way. How is it conjured, not just
the fear of actual danger, but the art of darkness.
In analyzing the freigthning or sinister parts of four artistic works introducing us to darkness there
we many things to point out, as there obviously is limitation to analyzing within a research of a text,

This is because such descriptions make the event seem so vivid as if you are living it, af if you
are not sitting on the couch you are sitting on because it takes too much times to think about it to
be aware of the reality that is happening outside of the book. There were little decorations in the
passages, perhaps because scene passages represented the essence of the novel, the darkest parts of
it, whereas it needs to be concrete, no unnecessary fuss like alliteration and other literary devices
that are found much more in other kinds of novels and other parts of horror novels, especially
Dracula. Dracula is much older than IT, the social context of the book depicts a world of
differences. Stoker made extreme use of langual flattery but as there were dangerous conflicts, he
needed to leave some of that out to ensure that the reader s attention would not fade. The boat
scene was obviously a different technique but that was because it was written as a to the point
writing captain who suddenly had so much more to describe, it was also needed for later
clarification to enclose what happened on the boat. Stephen King, to me, is a master of vocabulary
because of his grand choice of words to describe even the tiniest things without boring the reader.
This makes his writing so vivid, he describes everything as if he was standing there as it happened,

Early Life Of Buddhism Essay
Furthermore, Buddhism was founded in the late 6th century B.C.E. by a man named Siddhartha
Gautama, who is infamously known as the Buddha. Buddhism is the most influential religion in a
lot of the Asian countries. Buddhism has assumed many different forms over the years, but there
has always been an attempt to draw from the Buddha s life experiences and the essence of his
teachings, known as dharma. These life experiences and teachings model an appropriate religious
life. However, it wasn t until the first or second century that there was a complete account of the
Buddha s life and that was due to the writing of Buddha Charita, which is the life of Buddha, by
Ashvaghosa (The Origins of Buddhism).
In a place near the Himalayan foothills around 563 B.C.E, the Buddha was born, and he then began
in inspirational teachings around Benares at Sarnath. Buddha s life were in times of widespread
religious, spiritual, intellectual, and social uproar, making his teaching gravely influential.
Siddhartha Gautama, later known as the Buddha, was the son of Queen Mayadevi and King
Shuddhodana. According to some legends, a fortuneteller had predicted at his birth that he might

Life as we normally live it is full of the pleasures and pains of the body and mind; pleasures, he
said, do not represent lasting happiness. They are inevitably tied in with suffering since we
suffer from wanting them, wanting them to continue, and wanting pain to go so pleasure can
come. The second Noble Truth is that suffering is caused by craving for sense pleasures and for
things to be as they are not. We refuse to accept life as it is. The third Noble Truth, however,
states that suffering has an end, and the fourth offers the means to that end: the Eight Fold Path
and the Middle Way. If one follows this combined path he or she will attain Nirvana, an

Themes In Fallen Angels, Girl In The Green Sweater And A...
All authors use literary devices as intrical parts of their story. Literary devices can include
symbolism, motif, theme, mood and more. They all are used to do the same thing; to enhance the
reader s experience and the development of the story. For instance, in the stories Fallen Angels, Girl
in The Green Sweater, and A Thousand Splendid Suns their authors all use theme as literary devices
to furtherly write the story. The themes are loss of innocence, fear, and the suppression of women.
In the end, all of these authors use unique, realistic themes throughout their story.
To begin, the story Fallen Angels by Walter Dean Myers has a very common theme. This theme
used is the loss of innocence. In other words, it is when time passes and someone starts to grow
up, they start to realize that nothing is perfect. Also, it is usually thought of as an experience or
period in a child s life that widens their awareness of evil, pain, or suffering in the world around
them. The story Fallen Angels takes place during the Vietnam War. The main character, Richie
Perry, decides to join the war. He is only seventeen; with that being said, the theme of losing
innocence fit perfect with this novel because all of the characters are still young and as they go
through war, they understand what life is really like. The novel explains the loss of innocence
only within a squad of soldiers fighting in Vietnam, Perry being one of them. Lastly, Walter Dean
Myers used theme in a very interesting way. His theme was occurred only in a certain group of
characters as the story moved on and on.
To continue, the themes in the story Girl in The Green Sweater by Krystyna Chiger and Daniel
Paisner was fright and loss of innocence, as well. The overall novel was written in Krystyna s
point of view of a small town of Jews surviving the Holocaust. Krysha, her family, and some of
the other families within the small town of Lvov snuck into the underground sewers to hide from
the Nazis. Chiger explained that they lived in the dark, with floods, fires, sicknesses, and death.
They were always fearful that they would be discovered. They hid their for 14 months. Before the
Nazis started capturing Jews Krysha believed the world was exactly how she

Essay On Sickle Cell Disease
Sickle Cell Disease
A group of disorders that have an impact on hemoglobin is called sickle cell disease.
This disease can be deadly and needs to be discussed. During the lecture about chapter five, the
class learned about the sickle cell disease. This paper will discuss what sickle cell disease is, the
different types, how common it is, who gets it, symptoms, lethal or manageable information,
treatments, and diagnosis.
Sickle cell disease refers to an inherited blood disorder. One amino acid takes the place of the
protein hemoglobin. The body receives oxygen from hemoglobin in red blood cells. A mutated
form of hemoglobin affects the red blood cells. Hemoglobin S can turn red blood cells into a
certain crescent shape.

With new treatments, the potential to live with a sickle cell disease has currently increased. Most
of the deaths from the sickle cell disease are from bacterial infections. The buildup of blood cells
that sickle in the blood vessels of the brain can cause strokes in the victims.
New treatments for sickle cell disease make the potential to live much greater. People with the
sickle cell disease need to check with their doctor a few times a year. Children with a sickle cell
disease can take penicillin every day to prevent infections. People with a sickle cell disease need to
undergo vaccines such as pneumococcus, influenza shots, and meningococcus.
Diagnosis can be done through blood test before or after birth.
In conclusion to this paper on sickle cell disease, the information is summarized. Sicklecell
disease is a blood disorder, there are many different types, it is most common among African
genes, people all over the world can get it, the symptoms usually happen during childhood, it can
be lethal but there are treatments to help, and diagnosis can be done through a blood test.

Body Ritual Among The Nacirema By Horace Miner
Body Ritual among the Nacirema is an article by Horace Miner that depicts a group of
tribespeople known as the Nacirema, but is referring to Americans, whose cultural beliefs are
firmly implanted in the idea that the human body is prone to illness and disfigurement. Miner
establishes how the attitudes about the body has a ubiquitous influence on Nacirema society.
Accordingly, they spend a significant part of their day in strange ritual activities to refine and
elevate conditions of the body by using magical elements. Through a satirical approach, Miner uses
this article as a way to describe American culturein a unique way by providing readers an outsider s
perspective on American rituals. Miner s purpose in writing this article was to allow the reader to
detach themselves and imagine how a foreigner might perceive the activities we deem as normal....

This instantly makes an American believe that Miner is describing any other culture but their own.
However, the revelation of this article is that it depicts everyday American health practices but in a
way the sounds ludicrous when applied to ourselves. Miner refers to the bathroom as a shrine
where private ceremonies are held, medicine cabinets as charm boxes with magical potions, and the
hospital as a temple. Healthcare providers are referred to magical practitioners; dentists are holy
mouth men, doctors are medicine men, psychologists are the listeners, and pharmacists are
herbalists. Ordinary routines such as shaving, blow drying hair, and dental procedures are
characterized as sadistic and masochistic behaviour. Correspondingly, the tone and terminology
used in this article implies that there are religious, supernatural and uncivilized factors involved in

Jesus Christ. [x] Stetzer and Dodson agree that churches desiring a comeback will need to make
changes in order to start growing again. [27] Grounded in scripture, each section intends to
illuminate the actions necessary to facilitate a turnaround, determining the status, preparation, and
change management.
Comprised of fourteen chapters, the authors are explicit in readers comprehending this as a guide

A Report On The Hospitality Business
Hospitable has been a characteristic of humanity for a long period of time, it can be said that it is
formed since the first time that people starting to immigrate from place to place. Hospitality which
has transform from an act of kindness, which the host is the one to giving shelters and food and for
the travellers, into a business industry. As a consequence, the basic need shelters and food have also
been reformed into the need of convenient and secure segment. Due to this situation, lots of hotels
have enlarged their budget on securitypurpose. Especially since the terrorist attacks in Jakarta in
2009 and Taj Mahalhotelin Delhi in 2008, lots of big cooperation have boosted their security
system and establish an intense safety and security procedure. Thanks to those terror events,
hoteliers are aware of that the safety issue is the most important in the hospitality business. (Acton,

Transfer Pricing--Market-Based vs. Cost-Based
Introduction
Transfer pricing is one of the key factors of a management control system, which helps a company
to achieve its goals, including profit maximization and tax minimization.
There are several methods of setting transfer prices among profit centers within the same
organization. Each profit center tries to set transfer prices which maximize their own profit. The
buying and selling profit centers profits are largely affected by transfer prices. For example, when
a high transfer price is charged, the selling division s profits increase, while the buying division s
costs increase. So, transfer pricing should be established on a reasonable and objective basis, which
should maximize the companywide profit, rather than being based on ... Show more content on

The company should consider whether the transfer pricing method has simplicity and transparency,
which provide objective performance measurements for division managers. With regard to
simplicity and transparency, it is best for the company to set market based transfer pricing because
this is more objective than cost based transfer pricing. In particular, when companies use cost based
transfer pricing, it is difficult to evaluate division performance unless the transfer prices exceed full
costs.
Generally, a company can save more money and effort through internal sales compared with
external sales, due to the absence of customer credit checking or collecting. In addition, market
based transfer prices contribute to the evaluation of the economic viability and profitability of
profit centers individually. Market based transfer pricing portrays the real market supply and
demand more clearly because, when supply exceeds demand, market prices may decrease, so
market based transfer prices decrease as well.
However, market based transfer pricing has several disadvantages. You cannot use the market
based transfer pricing method when there is no market price in the market. For example, when the
selling division makes specially customized products for the buying division, you cannot get a
market price for the products. Similarly, in the case of a pharmaceutical company selling patent
protected drugs, you cannot get an appropriate market price for

Animal Testing Is A Waste Of Time
Imagine that you woke up one morning and discovered that your favorite pet was gone, and later
found out that it was kidnapped, sold into experimentation, and later discovered that your pet
had died from animal testing. How would you feel? Because according to Daniel Engber in his
article Where s Pepper? this happened to a farmer back in 1965 where his dog Pepper got
kidnaped and later died of experimentation. As far back as ancient Greek writing we have been
testing on animals and there have been strong feelings from both sides. Those who are for animal

And those who are against animal testing say that it is cruel and inhumane, that there are other
methods, and animals are so different that it s a waste of time and money. It is clear that overall
that animal testing is bad because it is a waste of time because animals are very different from

Fuller was most famous for his geodesic domes, which can be seen as part of military radar stations,
civic buildings, and exhibition attractions. Their construction is based on extending some basic
principles to build simple tensegrity structures (tetrahedron, octahedron, and the closest packing of
spheres). Built in this way they are extremely lightweight and stable. The patent for geodesic
domes was awarded in 1954, part of Fuller s decades long efforts to explore nature s constructing
principles to find design solutions.
Previously, Fuller had designed and built prototypes of what he hoped would be a safer,
aerodynamic Dymaxion Car ( Dymaxion is contracted from DYnamic MAXimum tensION). To this

In 1943, industrialist Henry J. Kaiser asked Fuller to develop a prototype for a smaller car, and
Fuller designed a five seater; the car never went into the development or production stages.
Another of Fuller s ideas was the alternative projection Dymaxion Map. This was designed to show
the Earth s continents with minimum distortion when projected or printed on a flat surface.
Fuller s energy efficient and low cost Dymaxion houses garnered much interest, but have never
gone into production. Here the term Dymaxion is used in effect to signify a radically strong and
light tensegrity structure . One of Fuller s Dymaxion Houses is on display as a permanent
exhibit at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan. Designed and developed in the mid
1940s, this prototype is a round structure (though not a dome) shaped something like the flattened
bell of certain jellyfish. It has several other innovative features, including revolving dresser
drawers, and a fine mist shower that reduces water consumption. According to Fuller biographer
Steve Crooks, the house was designed to be delivered in two cylindrical packages, with interior
color panels available at local dealers premises. A circular structure at the top of the house was
designed to rotate around a central mast to take advantage of natural winds for cooling and air
circulation.

Maya Angelou And Toni Morrison Comparison
This paper examines the feminist thoughtsas depicted in the works of black female writers, Maya
Angelou and Toni Morrison. Both carry the common theme of describing the black woman and
their sufferings in their novelsBeloved and I know why the caged bird sings. Both the writers
handle a common feminist criticism. The silence, passivity and resistance of women protagonists
are seen active of the feminist criticism.
Introduction
This paper deals with the concern of celebrating feminism. The representatives of this act with the
causes and effects are discussed in detail with a special reference to the novels of Maya Angelouand
Toni Morrison. African Americanwomen s writing and its impact in the society are immense. The
twentieth century has been a revolutionary era for the African American literature because many
women writers contributed to the growth of feminist writings during this century. These black
writers expressed themselves and created a deep impact on the African American, literary arena.

Mr. Douglas Murrow Case Paper
Mr. Douglas Murrow Based on the information presented in the case of 39 year old Douglas
Murrow, he has been charged with criminal infractions consisting of breaking and entering his
parent s home in the middle of the night, as well as physically assaulting them. Murrow constantly
theorizes about a conspiracy plot against him and has consistently displayed episodes of paranoid,
delusional behavior. Murrow s erratic behavior is marked by the belief that his parents are
conspiring with his doctor to force him to take psychopharmaceuticals. The delusional ideation is
amplified by Murrow s insistence that his parents are entering into his apartment at night to torture
him while he is asleep (Laureate Education, Inc., 2017). Rationalizing the Competency Evaluation

Murrow s eccentric fantasies persistently clouds his grasp of reality; creating a substantial
hindrance in the progress of the case and competency to decipher the difference between right
and wrong. Murrow s irrational actions and delusional ideation places him in a position of
danger to others, as well as himself, especially if the case results in a prison sentence. As such,
the competency assessment should successfully yield a diagnosis for Paranoid Personality
Disorder (PPD) since Murrow meets all seven of the diagnostic criteria. Utilizing the
Interdisciplinary Fitness Interview (IFI), Murrow s delusions (e.g. tainted milk and juice and
episodes of torture by the hands of his parents) are likely to surface well after the assessment is
complete. The revised Fitness Interview Test (FIT R) should also prove Murrow unfit to stand trial

Female Gothic As A Literary Era Of Gothic Literature
The term gothic serves as the ideal backdrop for a literary era of suspense, mystery, and terror. A
haunted mansion bursting with secrets, a naГЇve helpless heroine, and the male hero that saves the
day are all quintessentially gothic. When Ellen Moers first coined the term Female Gothic in her
1976 book, Literary Women, she defined it as the work that women writers have done in the literary
mode that, since the eighteenth century have been termed Gothic (Moers). Her argument that
Female Gothic literature is a code for women s fear of domestic entrapment, especially within their
own bodies as was mainly experienced in childbirth and motherhood, was quite influential. Anne
Williams, in her book The Art of Darkness: A Poetics of Gothic, argues that Female Gothic can be
further dissected to include its intention to criticize the patriarchy while educating and socializing
its female readers with an affirmation of absolute independence and strength. The Female Gothic is
often pursued and haunted by a villainous patriarchal figure, but finds salvation on her own accord
and more importantly, within herself. Another element of Female gothic is madness and
monstrosity as an explanation for why the female would deviate from the conventional norm.
Gerald s Game, an adaptation of a Stephen King novel by the same title, can be analyzed from the
Female Gothic lens, suggesting that the gothic literature mechanisms can also be applied to
contemporary tales of female strength and

A Different Approach About Ikea s Success
A different approach about Ikea s success is given by Sara Kristofferson in her book Designed by
Ikea, London 2014. In the first chapter, Kristofferson refers to the relationship between the swedish
goverment and Ikea.
Swedes love Ikea and Ikea itself shows its origins by his colors, his democratic policy and even
the food they serve inside of their stores. In one way we could assert that Ikea sells the
swedishness through its products and it does that by using narratives, that might not be always true,
but they help us to remember and associate Ikea with Sweden.
Ikea has powerful connections with Swedish government and swedish people, indeed no other
companies in the world represents so well the country of origin and its traditions.
It is from this colossal and so appreciated company that this essay aims to rise a more critical
discussion around Frugal Innovation in general, and the personal interest that companies gain from
this apparently healthy term.

An other important concept that I read in the previously mentioned book Design for the real World
was the idea of Integration of tradition.
The author asserts that expecially after the second world war, it was a really common trend in
USA to use some of asian products like a Tatami for example, in order to make their home more
exotic.
Now this is for the author a completely nosense and ridiculous expedient, because Japanese
appartments has been designed to be integrated with the Tatami, while USA s villas are certainly not.

Moreover, it is not uncommon for this student to represent the community college as an athlete; in
keeping with traditional four year colleges and universities, student athletes enjoy the benefit of
housing as one prong of their athletic scholarship package, i.e. tuition, room and board. Other
attributes include vast numbers of first generation students, students of color, and full time students.
Perhaps the rationale behind the lack of on campus housing offered at community colleges, which
is in stark contrast to that of four year colleges and universities, is the fact that a large number of
community college students live in the community, or the urban community colleges are situated
whereby students may make use of mass transit means to get back and forth. This is how the
system has always been designed, a single loop approach. Conversely, if one were to apply the

5 Stages Of Decomposition Research Paper
On December 11, 2008 skeletal remains of a young child were found by an utility worker. By the
time the worker had discovered the remains it had went through 5 stages of decomposition. The
1st stage starts when the person dies (Csanyi). The 1st stage consists of enzymes in dead body
cells start breaking down tissues which is known as autolysis. While this is going on bacteria in
the digestive track start to eat the intestines. The 1st stage is called the fresh stage which can last
for 1 2 days, unless of course the body is in a hot and humid area (Csanyi). Also at this stage
chemical released start to attract flies. The 2nd stage that the body went through is called the
putrefaction or the bloated stage (Csanyi). As the internal bacteria form the intestines start to enter
the rest of the body, it causes the body to fill with gasses and as this happens the body begins to
swell. The smell that comes from this stage is what attracts egg laying insects most of which are
blow flies (Csanyi). The 3rd stage of decompositionthat the body went through while at the dump
site is what is known as the purging or decay stage (Csanyi). During this stage of the process fluids
form inside the body start too come out of the body through the nose or mouth or through breaks in
the abdominal wall and through any soft tissue as the decomposition progresses (Csanyi). Larval...

Schenck V. United States Court Case Analysis
Twenty Thousand Flyers In this essay, I will analyze John Mill s argument on freedom of speech
in relation to Schenck v. United States court case. During the early 20th century, the U.S.
government decided to join World War I. Hence, they held a draft, by choosing random male
citizens who were in between the age of eighteen to forty five to fight for the country. At this time,
Charles T. Schenck was the general secretary of the U.S. socialist party in Philadelphia in the early
20th century. He was against the U.S. entry into World War I and its implementation of a military
draft. Thus, he distributed over twenty thousand flyers to U.S. citizens in objection against the draft
process. Therefore, the government arrested him for violating the Espionage Act. The congress

government declared war against Germany. President Woodrow Wilson wanted to stop the

after a couple of months, the congress passed the Espionage Act. This act forced the people to

WWI became illegal. The U.S. government declared the Espionage Act to increase people s

Small ruminants are used by the human being in many ways that provides proteinous meat, induces
the growth of farmers income, facilitates rural employment and improves fertility of the soil
(Thiruvenkadan et al. 2011). As per 19th Livestock Census, India possesses 42 breeds of total 65.06
million numbers of sheep (Livestock Census Report 2012). The sheep population constitute 12.7%
of the total livestock population of India and ranks 2nd in the world sheep population (FAOSTAT
2014). Total annual mutton production in the country is around 7.12%. The sheep population of
Tamil Nadu is 4.47 million numbers which produces approximately 31440 tonnes of mutton (Anon.

mutton production and by the improvement in quality of wool. DNA based molecular markers are
used efficiently for assessment of genetic diversity, selection of animals in early age, study of
population structure, mapping of genes and quantitative trait loci (QTLs), and breeding based on
genomic selection (Collard et al. 2005). The relationship between the economic traits and the genes
associated with these are studied by the candidate gene approach (Andersson 2001). Marker

Poe use all four ways to describe this quotation that he kills the old man: The special words;such as

Harvard Business Review s Fixing Health Care From Inside...
Harvard Business Review s Fixing Health Care From Inside Out was a unique collection of
examples on how all members of a health system, both clinical and administrative, make a huge
different on operations. This compilation not only provided exceptionally informative articles,
but also many charts, graphs, and other depictions to back up the points the contributors were
making. Many of the remarks in these articles seemed to be simple fixes or strategies that do not
seem that hard to implement, but in reality they are so challenging because making changes can
be a big deal for any organization. All ten of the articles offered a distinct perspective and
innovative ideas that future healthcare leaders such as myself could use moving forward. Some of
the key points highlighted were to implement changes on smaller scales first and then go larger, to
tackle issues as they come up and not put them off for the future, and also the importance of all
staff working together as a team rather than in pursuit of individual goals. Community Relations
2.0 by Gerald C. Kane, Robert G. Fichman, John Gallaugher, and John Glaser was the article that I
found to be the most interesting and applicable to current events in health care. They discussed how
the internet and social media affect changes and ways that administration in health care systems
can combat issues that arise online. It also discussed some of the positives of contemporary

Chivalry Code Research Paper
Is Chivalry Needed in High School? More than a code of manners in war and love, Chivalry was
a moral system, governing the whole of noble life. This quote by Barbara Tuchman explains the
standard used during the medieval period when people followed moral principles to live a noble
life. The medieval period, which took place from the fifth to the fifteenth century, is well known
for chivalry and noble life. The chivalry code is a code of conduct, or a code of manners, that
required knights to conduct themselves in a manner worthy of their high calling. This code, mainly
pertaining to knights, appears in any King Arthur or similar knightly story. Even though the
chivalry code was for knights, in the medieval period, it should still be used today. They are
necessary for high school students; three particularly important rules are act with courtesy, honor
truth by word and deed, and seek to redress all wrongs.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In a high school setting, courtesy is needed to make life enjoyable for both teachers and students
alike. Without it, frustration and hatefulness would make everyone miserable. GIVE AN
EXAMPLE OF THIS HERE. MAKE IT A POSITIVE EXAMPLE. Being courteous also means
being respectful. Teachers deserve respect because of the position they hold in our school. They
want to help students learn and succeed, not only in scholastic areas, but also in life. Having
students who are respectful and polite allows teachers to focus on subject matter, not behavioral
problems. Being courteous and respectful sets the tone for a very pleasant situation. Courtesy and
politeness mean nothing if truthfulness is not part of a student s

Crushing A Cupcake
Many times throughout life one finds they only know a grain about a discipline that seemed
previously to be common sense. In this project, I learned that there is much more to simply
frosting a cupcake than meets the eye. At the start, I thought, I ll just put some icing in a bag
with a designing tip and onto a cupcake. How hard can it be? Before this project I had frosted a
cupcake maybe once while helping my sister bake for one of her endeavors. At that time, it was
inadequate but I shrugged it off and decided that it sufficed. Now I know how beautiful and
exciting frosting a cupcake and many other foods can be.
Lizeth, my partner, and I found many articles about decorating pastries, but in my opinion, the
most helpful resource was the Michaels class in which we were enrolled. I learned about gadgets
with which I was not previously familiar, such as couplers and quality piping bags. Couplers hold
the tip out of which the icing comes and makes the icing process cleaner and sturdier. A quality
piping bag ensures that the tip will not fall out of it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The fact that we are having each individual in the class frost their own cupcake will demonstrate
that frosting a cupcake perfectly the first time is not easy, and it shows that we want the class to
actively partake in the experience that Lizeth and I went through when we first started frosting
cupcake. Getting others involved is a fantastic way of allowing others to understand the progress
and improvement that transpired in our work. My PowerPoint is also filled with visuals and
hardly verbose. It is colorful and completely documents the steps I took to reach my final outcome.
The light atmosphere it carries will maintain the audience s attention and everyone will learn about
a topic they probably never looked at in

Attention Getter For Informative Speech Outline
Specific Purpose: To inform my audience about the Scientific Method.
Importance to Audience: The Scientific Method can be used in everyday problems to effectively
solve our problems.
Thesis Statement: The Scientific Method is not only important in the scientific community but in
everyday life.
Introduction
Attention Getter: Science has been around for thousands of years and with it the Scientific Method.
Science is that big complex subject that not only explores very useful and applicable questions but
is also the reason we have stupidly big words like Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis.
Credibility: I have used the Scientific Method in several Engineering and Science programs
/contests, including, an Engineering program at Lockheed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Nobody thought we could ever be able to see something so incredibly small to properly observe
and therefore prove that germs exist. Nowadays, the fact that germs exist is common knowledge
and anybody that doesn t believe that germs exist, and cause illness, might get some funny looks.
(Transition: Finally, let us explore how the Scientific Method is applicable to daily life.)
IV. Fourth Main Point: The Scientific Method can be used in daily life to improve your everyday
problem solving.
A.Subpoint: Using the Scientific Method in daily life is less structured because, for the most part,
you don t have to prove, beyond reasonable doubt, your results to others.
B.Subpoint: The Scientific Method in general use doesn t require consist consideration of each
step, expect maybe in extreme and extra complex situation, but there isn t all that much harm in
glancing over a step.
Example: Deducting the problem with your overheating tracker/car and using the Scientific Method
to draw conclusions, test them, and get results. If you test something and your car continues to
overheat then you ve concluded that it was not the issue. You would then repeat the same process
until you ve reached your solution.

They Live By John Carpenter Essay
In the 1988 science fiction film They Live, filmmaker John Carpenter addresses and criticizes
homelessness among other issues of the times in the United States. Through the movie, John
Carpenter immerses his audience into his vision of what the 1980 s American culture is. Political
views portrayed mainly come from the disdain Carpenter feels towards Reagan s policies. He
portrays the American people as a naГЇve people who are consistently deceived by a corrupt social
and economic environment. Their abusers are portrayed as aliens who have control over them.
Carpenter shows that average American citizens are under governmental control and are taught
through subliminal messages such as conform , obey , watch television , marry and reproduce ,...

His plan of action called for a market that was free and deregulated, rather than government
assisted. The budget for pubic housing was cut in half Reagan s first year in office, and
throughout his presidency, he attempted to put a stop to housing assistance entirely. By 1985,
there were only 5.6 million low cost housing units available, while there were nearly 9 million
people who needed access to these households. This lead to the homeless legacy of Reagan; the
late 1980 s saw a great increase in the number of homeless individuals, many of which were
veterans and laid off workers. (2) On a talk show in 1984, President Reagan tried to defend himself
stating, People who are sleeping on the grates...the homeless...are homeless, you might say, by
choice. This offensive statement of blaming the poor for economic problems only made those who
were against him, more outspoken in their ridicule. Economic prosperity was credited to Reagan.
However, the growth that occurred mostly benefited those who were already in favorable
circumstances. The income gap grew between the classes and poverty rates increased. Cities with
rent control, on average, have two and a half times more homeless people as cities without them.
This is an example of how governmental control has a negative and severe impact on the people.
When rent control is imposed, homelessness increases by 250 percent. Even during a time of 7

Class in Caucasia
Social Class in Relation to Caucasia Sandy Lee, from Danzy Senna s novel, Caucasia is born
and raised into a very wealthy and well known family. Sandy comes from the wealthy town of
Cambridge, Massachusetts. Therefore, her father was a respected professor at Harvard
University. Sandy received her high school diploma from Buckingham School, and gets accepted
to Brandeis, which she later turned down. Sandy didn t fit in around her community and was a
rebel. She also tries to escape her upper class lifestyle by marrying Deck, an African American
who is a part of the lower class. In my essay I will argue that throughout her life, Sandy s upper
class upbringing still impacts her personality and actions, despite her drop in economic status. I...

I made out my grandmother s tall stooped form and gray bun. The rosebuds that circled the
house were in bloom read and lavender and white and pink and Gory, the dog, sat watching us
with his eternally depressed expression as we climbed out the car. The gardener, a small dark
man, was crouched on his hands and knees, tending to the flowers and my mother shouted to
him, Hey there, Joe! How s things? (Senna 102), Also, you can also figure out the difference of
lifestyles between Sandy and her mother when the maid comes to the door. Birdie describes,
Edna came to greet us at the door. She was my grandmother s housecleaner, a Caribbean woman
with salt and pepper hair. She smelled of lemon and wore chunky white nurse shoes and neatly
pressed hair. She made everything sparkle, but a faint smell of must lingered (Senna 102). The
fact Sandy s mother has house cleaners in her home indicates that she is a part of the wealthy
upper class. According to Judith Lorber, Because white people are the superior group, white
people do not have to do the dirty work , such as house work; the most inferior group does it,
usually poor women of color (Lorber 116). Lorber basically sums the reason the assumption of why
Sandy s mother has housecleaners. The difference of Sandy s life style is mentioned when her
mother comments on her appearance. Sandy s mother states, Sandy,

Exploitation Of Whales And Fish After The 1920s
The exploitation of whales and fish after 1920 was massive and without control. The Discovery
Investigation was a committee formed by the British government with the purpose to make
recommendations about sustainable whaling to prevent the collapse of whales. It started in 1925
and provide information about the amount of whales caught. During this time the commercial
interest of the whales and the fishery dictated the behaviour of the whalers and fishers (Brandon
and Clark, 2009).
According to the whaling library, during the World War II the industry of fishing and whaling
decrease (OU, 2016). After, it finished the depletion of the fish and whales continue. Later in 1946,

  • 2. Skakespeare and his style of writing Shakespeare s plays are a product of the Elizabethan theatrical context in which they were first performed. A lot of pressure was put on Shakespeare as he wrote his plays because he was not allowed to upset the royal family. His style would have been different than others in those times and a lot more thought has gone into his writing than people listening would think. Usually, the audience take for granted the cleverness and thought of Shakespeare s writing, however, now we have studied and gone into great detail about Shakespeare s writing, we can appreciate it more than they did: The Globe Theatre was where Shakespeare had most of his plays performed. It had many decorations to make it look appealing and to try and to make it seem ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, they say Bernado, and Holla Barnado and Say what, is Horatio there? He also cunningly tells us the people in the play are: And liegeman to the Dane , the rivals of my watch and Friends to the ground . This tells us that Horatio and Marcellus are the good guys and it also tells us their role in the play the watch. Also, Shakespeare sets the scene. Dialogue has to compensate for the lack of real night time. He does this by using dialogue like: Tis now struck twelve and Who s there? Stand and unfold yourself , and Give you good night. He also tells us what the night is like, Tis bitter cold, and Not a mouse stirring. This all tells us that the night is cold, quiet, just gone twelve and nothing much is happening, without the use of real darkness. Shakespeare also uses hidden stage directions for the actors sake, for instance, Barnado says Get thee to bed Francisco which is really telling the actor to leave the stage. Shakespeare also says Barnado hath my place. Give you good night which tells the other actors that he will be leaving the stage. This also tells the audience that Barnado is taking over his place from then on. Barnado also says, Sit down a while then Horatio says Well, sit we down which means that they should sit down. Furthermore, Shakespeare will use the actors as narrators. They would tell the audience what is happening, but at the same time they would be playing their part in the play. For ... People have grown to fear mainly similar things and ultimately anything that endangers the innocent part of human kind. Sadly, there is only a slight hint of true innocence that exists in us as humans. How come fear intrueges us, it is not the knowing of its unrealness, because for a moment there, it seems real. Therefore it is an art, how can one be freigthened and fascinated in its most beautiful way. How is it conjured, not just the fear of actual danger, but the art of darkness. There were little decorations in the passages, perhaps because scene passages represented the essence of the novel, the darkest parts of it, whereas it needs to be concrete, no unnecessary fuss like alliteration and other literary devices that are found much more in other kinds of novels and other parts of horror novels, especially Dracula. Dracula is much older than IT, the social context of the book depicts a world of differences. Buddhism is the most influential religion in a lot of the Asian countries. Buddhism has assumed many different forms over the years, but there has always been an attempt to draw from the Buddha s life experiences and the essence of his teachings, known as dharma. • 10. Themes In Fallen Angels, Girl In The Green Sweater And A... All authors use literary devices as intrical parts of their story. Literary devices can include symbolism, motif, theme, mood and more. They all are used to do the same thing; to enhance the reader s experience and the development of the story. For instance, in the stories Fallen Angels, Girl in The Green Sweater, and A Thousand Splendid Suns their authors all use theme as literary devices to furtherly write the story. The themes are loss of innocence, fear, and the suppression of women. In the end, all of these authors use unique, realistic themes throughout their story. To begin, the story Fallen Angels by Walter Dean Myers has a very common theme. This theme used is the loss of innocence. In other words, it is when time passes and someone starts to grow up, they start to realize that nothing is perfect. Also, it is usually thought of as an experience or period in a child s life that widens their awareness of evil, pain, or suffering in the world around them. The story Fallen Angels takes place during the Vietnam War. The main character, Richie Perry, decides to join the war. He is only seventeen; with that being said, the theme of losing innocence fit perfect with this novel because all of the characters are still young and as they go through war, they understand what life is really like. The novel explains the loss of innocence only within a squad of soldiers fighting in Vietnam, Perry being one of them. Lastly, Walter Dean Myers used theme in a very interesting way. His theme was occurred only in a certain group of characters as the story moved on and on. To continue, the themes in the story Girl in The Green Sweater by Krystyna Chiger and Daniel Paisner was fright and loss of innocence, as well. The overall novel was written in Krystyna s point of view of a small town of Jews surviving the Holocaust. Krysha, her family, and some of the other families within the small town of Lvov snuck into the underground sewers to hide from the Nazis. With regard to simplicity and transparency, it is best for the company to set market based transfer pricing because this is more objective than cost based transfer pricing. In particular, when companies use cost based transfer pricing, it is difficult to evaluate division performance unless the transfer prices exceed full costs. Generally, a company can save more money and effort through internal sales compared with external sales, due to the absence of customer credit checking or collecting. In addition, market based transfer prices contribute to the evaluation of the economic viability and profitability of profit centers individually. Market based transfer pricing portrays the real market supply and demand more clearly because, when supply exceeds demand, market prices may decrease, so market based transfer prices decrease as well. Designed and developed in the mid 1940s, this prototype is a round structure (though not a dome) shaped something like the flattened bell of certain jellyfish. It has several other innovative features, including revolving dresser drawers, and a fine mist shower that reduces water consumption. According to Fuller biographer Steve Crooks, the house was designed to be delivered in two cylindrical packages, with interior color panels available at local dealers premises. A circular structure at the top of the house was designed to rotate around a central mast to take advantage of natural winds for cooling and air circulation. The American Pavilion of Expo 67, by R. Murrow constantly theorizes about a conspiracy plot against him and has consistently displayed episodes of paranoid, delusional behavior. Murrow s erratic behavior is marked by the belief that his parents are conspiring with his doctor to force him to take psychopharmaceuticals. • 23. Female Gothic As A Literary Era Of Gothic Literature The term gothic serves as the ideal backdrop for a literary era of suspense, mystery, and terror. A haunted mansion bursting with secrets, a naГЇve helpless heroine, and the male hero that saves the day are all quintessentially gothic. When Ellen Moers first coined the term Female Gothic in her 1976 book, Literary Women, she defined it as the work that women writers have done in the literary mode that, since the eighteenth century have been termed Gothic (Moers). Her argument that Female Gothic literature is a code for women s fear of domestic entrapment, especially within their own bodies as was mainly experienced in childbirth and motherhood, was quite influential. Anne Williams, in her book The Art of Darkness: A Poetics of Gothic, argues that Female Gothic can be further dissected to include its intention to criticize the patriarchy while educating and socializing its female readers with an affirmation of absolute independence and strength. The Female Gothic is often pursued and haunted by a villainous patriarchal figure, but finds salvation on her own accord and more importantly, within herself. Another element of Female gothic is madness and monstrosity as an explanation for why the female would deviate from the conventional norm. Gerald s Game, an adaptation of a Stephen King novel by the same title, can be analyzed from the Female Gothic lens, suggesting that the gothic literature mechanisms can also be applied to contemporary tales of female strength and ... In the first chapter, Kristofferson refers to the relationship between the swedish goverment and Ikea. In one way we could assert that Ikea sells the swedishness through its products and it does that by using narratives, that might not be always true, but they help us to remember and associate Ikea with Sweden. Ikea has powerful connections with Swedish government and swedish people, indeed no other companies in the world represents so well the country of origin and its traditions. Other attributes include vast numbers of first generation students, students of color, and full time students. Perhaps the rationale behind the lack of on campus housing offered at community colleges, which is in stark contrast to that of four year colleges and universities, is the fact that a large number of community college students live in the community, or the urban community colleges are situated whereby students may make use of mass transit means to get back and forth. By the time the worker had discovered the remains it had went through 5 stages of decomposition. The 1st stage starts when the person dies (Csanyi). The 1st stage consists of enzymes in dead body cells start breaking down tissues which is known as autolysis. While this is going on bacteria in the digestive track start to eat the intestines. The 1st stage is called the fresh stage which can last for 1 2 days, unless of course the body is in a hot and humid area (Csanyi). Also at this stage chemical released start to attract flies. Harvard Business Review s Fixing Health Care From Inside Out was a unique collection of examples on how all members of a health system, both clinical and administrative, make a huge different on operations. This compilation not only provided exceptionally informative articles, but also many charts, graphs, and other depictions to back up the points the contributors were making. Many of the remarks in these articles seemed to be simple fixes or strategies that do not seem that hard to implement, but in reality they are so challenging because making changes can be a big deal for any organization. All ten of the articles offered a distinct perspective and innovative ideas that future healthcare leaders such as myself could use moving forward. Some of the key points highlighted were to implement changes on smaller scales first and then go larger, to tackle issues as they come up and not put them off for the future, and also the importance of all staff working together as a team rather than in pursuit of individual goals. Community Relations 2.0 by Gerald C. Kane, Robert G. Fichman, John Gallaugher, and John Glaser was the article that I found to be the most interesting and applicable to current events in health care. At that time, it was inadequate but I shrugged it off and decided that it sufficed. Now I know how beautiful and exciting frosting a cupcake and many other foods can be. Lizeth, my partner, and I found many articles about decorating pastries, but in my opinion, the most helpful resource was the Michaels class in which we were enrolled. I learned about gadgets with which I was not previously familiar, such as couplers and quality piping bags. Couplers hold the tip out of which the icing comes and makes the icing process cleaner and sturdier. A quality piping bag ensures that the tip will not fall out of it ... The fact that we are having each individual in the class frost their own cupcake will demonstrate that frosting a cupcake perfectly the first time is not easy, and it shows that we want the class to actively partake in the experience that Lizeth and I went through when we first started frosting cupcake. Getting others involved is a fantastic way of allowing others to understand the progress and improvement that transpired in our work. My PowerPoint is also filled with visuals and hardly verbose. It is colorful and completely documents the steps I took to reach my final outcome. Importance to Audience: The Scientific Method can be used in everyday problems to effectively solve our problems. Thesis Statement: The Scientific Method is not only important in the scientific community but in everyday life. Introduction Attention Getter: Science has been around for thousands of years and with it the Scientific Method. Nobody thought we could ever be able to see something so incredibly small to properly observe and therefore prove that germs exist. Nowadays, the fact that germs exist is common knowledge and anybody that doesn t believe that germs exist, and cause illness, might get some funny looks. (Transition: Finally, let us explore how the Scientific Method is applicable to daily life.) IV. Fourth Main Point: The Scientific Method can be used in daily life to improve your everyday problem solving. A.Subpoint: Using the Scientific Method in daily life is less structured because, for the most part, you don t have to prove, beyond reasonable doubt, your results to others. B.Subpoint: The Scientific Method in general use doesn t require consist consideration of each step, expect maybe in extreme and extra complex situation, but there isn t all that much harm in glancing over a step. Example: Deducting the problem with your overheating tracker/car and using the Scientific Method to draw conclusions, test them, and get results. If you test something and your car continues to overheat then you ve concluded that it was not the issue. You would then repeat the same process until you ve reached your solution. • 43. They Live By John Carpenter Essay In the 1988 science fiction film They Live, filmmaker John Carpenter addresses and criticizes homelessness among other issues of the times in the United States. Through the movie, John Carpenter immerses his audience into his vision of what the 1980 s American culture is. Political views portrayed mainly come from the disdain Carpenter feels towards Reagan s policies. He portrays the American people as a naГЇve people who are consistently deceived by a corrupt social and economic environment. Their abusers are portrayed as aliens who have control over them. Carpenter shows that average American citizens are under governmental control and are taught through subliminal messages such as conform , obey , watch television , marry and reproduce ,... The budget for pubic housing was cut in half Reagan s first year in office, and throughout his presidency, he attempted to put a stop to housing assistance entirely. By 1985, there were only 5.6 million low cost housing units available, while there were nearly 9 million people who needed access to these households. This lead to the homeless legacy of Reagan; the late 1980 s saw a great increase in the number of homeless individuals, many of which were veterans and laid off workers. (2) On a talk show in 1984, President Reagan tried to defend himself stating, People who are sleeping on the grates...the homeless...are homeless, you might say, by choice. This offensive statement of blaming the poor for economic problems only made those who were against him, more outspoken in their ridicule. Economic prosperity was credited to Reagan. However, the growth that occurred mostly benefited those who were already in favorable circumstances. The income gap grew between the classes and poverty rates increased. Cities with rent control, on average, have two and a half times more homeless people as cities without them. This is an example of how governmental control has a negative and severe impact on the people. When rent control is imposed, homelessness increases by 250 percent. Even during a time of 7 ... The rosebuds that circled the house were in bloom read and lavender and white and pink and Gory, the dog, sat watching us with his eternally depressed expression as we climbed out the car. The gardener, a small dark man, was crouched on his hands and knees, tending to the flowers and my mother shouted to him, Hey there, Joe! How s things? (Senna 102), Also, you can also figure out the difference of lifestyles between Sandy and her mother when the maid comes to the door. Birdie describes, Edna came to greet us at the door. She was my grandmother s housecleaner, a Caribbean woman with salt and pepper hair. She smelled of lemon and wore chunky white nurse shoes and neatly pressed hair. She made everything sparkle, but a faint smell of must lingered (Senna 102). The fact Sandy s mother has house cleaners in her home indicates that she is a part of the wealthy upper class. According to Judith Lorber, Because white people are the superior group, white people do not have to do the dirty work , such as house work; the most inferior group does it, usually poor women of color (Lorber 116).
