This presentation is based on a research project conducted by Mariam Tsulukidze and Yana Hovhannisyan (International School of Economic- ISET). This empirical model examines the relationship between CO2 and renewable energy (RE) consumption for countries from different groups: advanced, developed and developing economies (classified by GDP per capita) for the period 2005-2013.

These slides cover briefly the concept of circular economy, how it aims at reducing waste to a minimum. When a product reaches the end of its life, its materials are kept within the economy wherever possible. These materials would then be productively used again and again, thereby creating further value. Circular economy has enormous benefits when compared against the traditional linear and recycling economies.

Circular Economy: from concept to implementation - Berlin perspective.
In the talk, the question was raised if product redesign and business innovation are all that we need for the transition?
The presentation was held in the Embassy of the Netherlands in Berlin, 23.07
Presentation by The Climate Trust's Program Manager, Peter Weisberg, at the Sustainable Food Trade Association. Presentation includes: the basics of biogas, project case studies; and the climate benefit of biogas.

1. Himachal Social Forestry Project
Himachal Pradesh Mid Himalaya watershed Development project is the first pilot project for India and is
the world’s first carbon credit project that is linked to an ongoing watershed management programme.
It has been registered for carbon trading scheme under UNFCC. This may sequester the emission of 800
million tonnes of Carbondioxide from 2006 to 2025.
About 5000 families in the state will earn green money through raising plantation on barren land for
next 20 years from world bank. It will cover 4000 hectare barren land which was deforested before
1990.
UN scheme has set a price of about Rs 2500 per hectare per annum of carbon which will be measured
depending on growth of the tree biomass and measurement will start from this year. The project is
estimated to generate carbon revenue of Rs 20 cr. to the communities and individual for the next 20
years. This project will reduce 40000 tonnes of carbondioxide per year for 20 years. The programme
would be implementing on other areas and states through Joint Forest Management committee. This
can also helps to meet the challenges of Kyoto Protocol and the 75 % of plantation is being done by the
local people.
