Librarians can create online guides and resources for students using LibGuides, an institution-approved wiki platform. LibGuides allow librarians to provide quality, curated resources on library materials, websites, and instructor content for various purposes like supporting College in the High School programs. At this in-service, the librarians will create a Libguide for topics covered in the training that will be accessible to all attendees. Examples highlighted include guides created by other institutions for subjects like health sciences that receive positive feedback, as well as guides for local high school and community member use of college resources.

In an effort to promote use of library resources and services, the librarians for Excelsior College have produced a way of increasing usage of both the services and resources through course integration. This model of systematically integrating library services and resources into online courses will be addressed in this presentation. The presentation will demonstrate how to collaborate with course developers and instructional designers at the point where the course is being designed. Examples of how librarians can initiate partnerships within the academic institution; manage the workflow of requested projects; manage expectations; and ultimately market services will be discussed.

Transforming spaces to empower digital learning

Extended School Year Services

Switching from an academic library to a public library is a challenging transition due to the contrasting environments. The dynamics of the users in each entity are similar in the instance of the need for information but different in the request. There is a list of elements that I noticed during my transition from an academic library to a public library. I transition from a reference librarian position serving mostly adults to a youth services librarian position serving ages 0 to 18.

A wound is a break in the integrity of the skin or tissues, which may be associated with disruption of the structure and function.
Healing is the body’s response to injury in an attempt to restore normal structure and functions.
Healing can occur in two ways: Regeneration and Repair
There are 4 phases of wound healing: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. This document also describes the mechanism of wound healing. Factors that affect healing include infection, uncontrolled diabetes, poor nutrition, age, anemia, the presence of foreign bodies, etc.
Complications of wound healing like infection, hyperpigmentation of scar, contractures, and keloid formation.
