This document discusses methods for interpreting and applying Scripture, including principlizing, allegorizing, and demythologizing. It provides two examples of passages that are analyzed using historical-cultural, contextual, and theological lenses: the story of Nadab and Abihu in Leviticus 10, and the temptation of Adam and Eve in Genesis 3. Guidelines are outlined for principlizing texts in a way that derives universal principles consistent with the author's intended meaning and all of Scripture. Suggestions are also provided for developing good applications of Scripture that are personal, practical, possible, and provable.
