4. Group Health Associates – Project Manager for this 1.4 million dollar tenant finish of an existing shell building. Worked closely with owners, doctors and staff to assure that all items were addressed in a timely manner avoiding costly changes, particularly with extensive medical equipment and complex electric requirements. I have been left with a feeling of total satisfaction. The building and process exceeded my expectations.”
5. Tractor Supply Company - Millersburg, Ohio and Macedonia, Ohio – Project Manager for these 2.1 million dollar and 2.48 million dollar 19,100sf TSC. The building consisted of structural steel frame with split face block or QuickBrikveneer. The construction was completed ahead of schedule, under budget and with excellent quality for both facilities. Brian Hutchins, Director of Construction – Tractor Supply Company, Millersburg location “We tend to be critical and always looking for constant improvement, but from a construction view, I do not find any way to improve the end result of this store. It was brought in early and with outstanding quality.”
6. Independence Towne Center - Independence, Kentucky – Project Manager for this 2.45 million dollar site development with a 25,000sf retail building anchored by a 13,000sf Ace Hardware. Structural steel frame with a split face block, brick, and EIFS veneer. Built out Papa Murphy’s and Mike Dominach’s Karate during shell construction.
7. Ace Hardware - Florence, Kentucky – Project Manager for this 1.4 million dollar site development with a 12,000sf retail building. Structural steel frame with a split face and scored block veneer. Bad construction delays came due to undercutting unsuitable soil and severe weather, but the project was delivered on schedule. Dick Blandford, Store Owner – Ace Hardware “Helmes really stepped up to help us meet our store opening deadline despite some bad weather issues. They did a great job keeping us on track for a successful opening.”
8. Republic Bank – Florence, Kentucky – Project Manager for this 1.2 million dollar branch bank. A faulty propane tank caused a fire that totally destroyed the building three weeks prior to opening. We had to go thru extensive insurance and legal review, but had the bank open just 3 months after the fire. Carol James ,Vice President – Republic Bank “When people say it’s all about how you perform when problems arise; Hemmer took it to another level. In the face of a total loss they made the entire process as easy to handle as could be. We were left still feeling good at the end of the project.”
9. BlueStar New Corporate Headquarters - Hebron, Kentucky – Project Manager for this 150,000sf new headquarters and distribution warehouse. The project consisted of tilt up concrete panel construction with a two story 19,000sf office space. Overall construction cost was 5.6 million dollars.
10. St. Luke West Pediatrics Addition – Florence, Kentucky – Project Manager for this $800,000 addition to the existing hospital. Added new exam rooms and waiting area in a theme that suited and soothed kids. Worked through a tough winter and still completed the project on time and under budget.

Green, General Manager - KE Burgmann “Steve Helmes took control of the project…He did an OUTSTANDING job in coordinating and planning the project; and demonstrated his professionalism throughout the process… I count both of us as lucky to have him steering the ship.” KE Burgmann – Hebron, Kentucky– Project Manager for this $165 thousand dollar tenant build out in an existing shell warehouse building at Airpark West, Hebron, Kentucky. Project was not big, but keeping a good client happy on small projects leads to more work in the future.
