A Report On Japanese Tea
As Japanese Tea Ceremony is an important part of Japanese food and culture, drinking tea was
initially popular in China since the fourth century. From history, tea plants did not grow in Japan
initially until the first seeds were brought from China during the Tang Dynasty (China 618 907).
During this period, the two countries were at their prime as they were experiencing growing
relationships and cultural exchanges between each other. In China, teawas esteemed for its
medicinal value and represented an elegant drink. According to legend, the history of tea in
Japan was created 1,300 years ago by a Buddhist monk, named Bodhidharma. Uniquely, the story
is that he would have a daily routine of meditating for nine years just by staring at the wall of a
cave. In his own personal journey, he battled his occasional drowsiness where he has to drink tea
to ease the pain. Eventually, he came up with the idea of cutting off his eyelids, so his eyes
would not close. Supposedly, on the place where he placed his severed eyelids, the first tea bushes
appeared. From this legend, it was reported that this story is why the tea ceremony is so important
to Zen Buddhism and Japanese culture as he was an important role model. (Hays, 2013)
Initially, tea started as a powdered tea which were tea leaves that are steamed, dried, and then
crushed into powder. In addition, the tea developed the split bamboo whisk that was to be stirred
into the hot water. Throughout time, China replaced the powdered

The Importance Of Body Cameras In Schools
Reachers say that prior to 1980, whites and nonwhites were equally represented among first time
heroin users. However, now nearly 90 percent of the people who tried heron for the first time in
the past decade were white. And a growing number of them are middle class or wealthy. The
image of needle using inter city junkies is no longer the case, these new users are our suburban
neighbors, sons, daughters, fathers and mothers. Most opioid users first try pills from the family
medicine cabinet. The pill bottles that all of us keep around long after what they were originally
prescribed for has been forgotten. Law enforcement, specifically local law enforcement needs to be

Righteousness In The Conflict Between Job And Job
Job was a righteous man who feared God and upheld divine standards. He abounded in gifts of
mercy and acts of godly devotion. Job routinely offered sacrifices to atone for his children s sins.
Hence, God was quite pleased to observe as his servant maintained integrity in his dealing. The
Almighty spoke about Job s godly devotion to Satanthe Devil. In fact, Satan claimed that Job was
primarily concerned with selfish interests. God decided to allow Satan to bring trials upon Job to
test the patriarch s motives. In this essay, I will highlight the significance of righteousness in the
debates between Job and his friends.
Job s debate with his friends was precipitated by the former s determination to uphold righteous
standards. Notably, Job experienced tremendous tribulations due to Satan s efforts. His 10 children
died while his livestock was killed. Job s servants also died under mysterious circumstances.
Unfortunately, his wife deserted and mocked him for his faith in God. In fact, she taunted him to
curse God and died. Nevertheless, these events could not break Job s integrity. Satan was
determined to intensify his physical attacks on Job. Job was struck with a debilitating illness that
subjected him to constant pain. Members of the community also shunned him. Later, three friends
of Job came to visit him. However, they did not say anything to Job for three day.
Job s friends claimed that he was suffering due to secret sins. Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar were

Voyeurism In Alfred Hitchcock s Rear Window
Alfred Hitchcock s Rear Window (1954), is a psychological thriller that addresses themes of
voyeurism as well as morality and ethics. The film is centered around L.B. Jeffries, an action
photographer who is wheelchair bound following an accident that has left him with a broken leg.
Stuck within the confides of his apartment, he finds pleasure observing the lives of his neighbors
through his rear window. Things change for Jeffries when he believes that he has witnessed the
murder of one of his neighbours. This essay analyzes the concluding fifteen minutes of the film, in
which many of the films overarching questions are answered. Alfred Hitchcockuses the characters in
Rear Window to control the emotions of the audience, he does this by projecting the emotions of
characters onto the viewers. This raises questions of the morality and consequences of voyeurism,
as well as questions of human curiosity.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The costume design of the character Jeff is that he is wears a cast on his leg, which is due to a
photography injury that has left him with a broken leg. The cast in this scene represents the
helplessness of that Jeff is feeling. While he is watching Lisa enter the Thorwald apartment, he is
visibly frustrated because there is nothing he can do to help her. The audience experiences this
feeling when Thorwald returns to find Lisa and attacks Lisa. Hitchcock makes the audience have
the same feelings as Jeff, the audience fears for the safety of Lisa and can sympathize with Jeff.
However, the behavior of Lisa and Jeff raises questions of morality. Jeff has good intentions; he
wants to know if Thorwald is indeed a murder. But At what point does this go too far? This is an

Difference Between Fishbein And Ajzen s Theory Of Behaviour
According to Ajzen s (1991) theory models, behavior is depend to the behavioral intention. There
are three factors which influence the behavioral intention, which are the attitude towards behavior,
subjective norms and perceived behavior control. Attitudes are a complete mental state involving
belief, feelings, values and temperament to act in certain ways. A subjective norm is the
sanctions of certain behavior of one or more individuals about their perception and the extent how
the behavior will mould up the perception. Perceived behavioral control refers to an individual s
perception regarding the extent of control he or she has over a particular behavior. According to
Fishbein and Ajzen (1975), the rating by an individual for an event will be either positive or
negative. This evaluation can affect an individual s attitude. Furthermore, Bobek (1997) expressed
that attitude of an individual, either good or bad, are... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Culture has many definitions, and it affects everything people do in their society because of their
ideas, values, attitudes, and normative or expected patterns of behaviour. Culture is not
genetically inherited, and cannot exist on its own, but is always shared by members of a society
(Hall 1976, p. 16). Hofstede (1980, pp. 21 23) defines culture as the collective programming of the
mind which distinguishes the members of one group from another , which is passed from
generation to generation, it is changing all the time because each generation adds something of its
own before passing it on. The social capital literature has shown that socially held beliefs can shape
not only collective actions but government and economic performance (North 1981; Knack and
Keefer, 1997; Landes, 1998; La Porta et al., 1999; Putnam, 1993). Indeed, La Porta et al. (1999:223)
argued that some societies are so intolerant or distrustful that their governments simply cannot

ideas to support a militaristic and superstitious society, which, therefore, influenced the approach to
religion to suit The Great Rhetra. To support and uphold the Spartan society which highlights that
the Spartan religion had many important features such as, Gods and Goddesses which were a part
of the Spartas polytheism religion which was believed to play a major role in many aspects of
their lives. Myths and legends and how Sparta s devotion to them built their very militaristic and
superstitious religion. Festivals which were important customs and major Eunomia throughout
Spartan society. Death and the Burial processes which was important to the militaristic society to
send its honorable and heroic soldiers to the next stage in life in a respectful and presentable

Main Themes Of The Prince By Machiavelli
1. Machiavelli wrote The Prince because he wanted to give Lorenzo The Magnificent, a book that
highlights major keys to being a Prince and being one efficiently. Also, The Prince was written
because to gain endeavor by the prince it is customary to give him something a person holds most
valuable, Machiavelli held his knowledge most valuable.
2. The way Governments are Established and Held , is a theme in The Prince. Machiavelli says, The
dominions thus acquired have either been previously accustomed to the rule of another prince, or
else have been free states, and they are annexed either by force of arms of the prince himself, or
of other, or else fall to him by good fortune or special ability. , he then further explains this topic
in the next nine chapters. Another one of the major themes is War . Machiavelli explains how to
use the methods of offense and defense in a war if a princes foundation is stable for four chapters.
Finally, Reputation is a theme of The Prince. Throughout the last twelve chapters Machiavelli
explains how you should act to keep in favor of your citizens.
3. The role of armies is to maintain its country s defense through fortifications. This ensures security
and stops enemies from attacking a prince s country.
4. Machiavelli s advice is more realistic. He writes the real truth of the matter than to its
imagination , compared to other writers that have, have imagined republics and principalities which
have never been seen or known to exist in reality .
5. Machiavelli says it is better for a prince to be both feared and loved, because men will love at
free will and fear at the will of their prince, but a prince must rely solely on his power that he
already has. It is possible for a prince to be both. A prince could show love by giving constant
support for many of the citizens of his country, but should also be feared because he should give
consequences to citizens who do not follow the rules of the country.
6. Conspiracy, a prince should not worry about conspiracies when people are well, but when
people are hostile, he should fear conspiracies. Merit, a prince should show merit, and honor those
who excel. Goodness, a prince should gain

Minority Student Diversity
Abstract
Within the last decade or so, the number of minority students and first generation students enrolling,
attending and graduating from colleges in the US has increased significantly despite the rising cost
of enrollment. This increase is due to the available scholarships, funding opportunities, affirmative
action or quota to be met by these institutions. The shift in the number of minority students
graduating has also affected the diversity of people in the workplace. Although discrimination
legally ended more than 40 years ago with the Civil Rights Movement, the ongoing battle of
minority people in the United States trying to assimilate into a culture and justice system that does
not work in their favor has continued although it is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
White students represent 75% of the students at the top 468 colleges in the country even though
they are only 62% of the country s college age population (Fletcher, 2013). On the other hand 67%
of black students and 75% of Latino students attend open access colleges. Black and Latino
students make up 37% of students at open access schools but only 15% of students at the nation s
top colleges while making up 33% of the country s college age population (Fletcher,2013). Although
black and Latino students are attending college at higher rates, they are not given the tools
necessary to graduate and succeed at the same rates as their white counterparts. 30% of black and
Latino students with an A averages in high school end up in community colleges, as compared with
22% of white students (Fletcher, 2013). Anthony Carnevale explains this phenomena saying, The
higher education system is colorblind in theory but in fact operates, at least in part, as a
systematic barrier to opportunity for many blacks and Hispanics, many of whom are college
qualified but tracked into overcrowded and under funded colleges, where they are less likely to
develop fully or to graduate (Fletcher, 2013). Carnevale further explains that the issue is not
particularly with the students but the system that does not support them. Michael Dannenberg,
director of higher education and education finance policy at the Education Trust, noted What
individual colleges do often can make all the difference in the world between a student graduating
or leaving with a pile of debt and no degree. Demography is not destiny, and what colleges do
matters (Roach,

How Did The Indians Culture Affect The Lakota Culture
The Lakota Indians had the sad and unfortunate luck of becoming personally acquainted with the
westward thrust of American development when the Americans attitudes toward Indians had grown
cynical and cruel. This interaction caused the Lakota culture to change a great deal during the
nineteenth century. Horses and guns brought about a dramatic change in the Lakota s culture. They
enabled them to seize and defend their rich hunting grounds, to follow the great migrating herds of
buffalo that shaped their distinctive way of life, and by the middle of the nineteenth century to
evolve into the proud and powerful monarchs of the northern Great Plains(R6). They acquired their
first horses and guns, along with the knowledge of how to handle... Show more content on

Ella Dying At Home Case Study
In my research, I will discuss the benefits of Ella dying at home and the psychological affects
staying in a hospital can have on her, particularly after the fact she has requested to be with her
family during her last days. it will be appropriate for Ella to live out her last days in the comfort of
her own home.
Since Ella has come to terms that she has cancer and her physician has recommended Hospice, I
would assume not treating the cancer is not a decision factor for treatment decisions. She has come
to terms that treatment is not available and her alternative methods are no longer effective.

if Ella remains in her home environment she will feel a sense of comfort. Based on Ella s past
responses concerning a treatment decisions, I think it is vital to mention the lawful aspects of
her decision to stay at home. The law permits individuals to die in the comfort of their own
home, even in the event the decision would cause physical harm or death for someone who is
too sick such as Ella to receive treatment (Webmd.com). Since Ella is staying home, I would like
to discuss the disadvantages of her decision. Staying at home could increase extend a burden on
her husband and family members emotionally and physically and these factors can be
overwhelming for the family, however I will include with the help of the Hospice team and
proper organization and planning these disadvantages could resolved. Another disadvantage is
not all physicians are willing to care for terminally ill individuals which this issue is easily
resolvable by referring to a physician that care for Hospice patients. While completing my
research, I found the advantages of Ella staying home by far outweigh the disadvantages. As I
discussed earlier Ella will be in the comfort of her own home, in addition her family, extended
family, friends and neighbors would be able to visit as Ella permits, dying in the home will enable
Ella to maintain her quality of life, she will have control over her own decisions vs being at a
hospital the physician or nurse has the final say based on what they recommend as well as diet
schedules and no one wants to be controlled during their last days of living. Finally, I do believe
one know when they are getting near the end of life as the physical and cognitive changes begin to

Rap Hop And Hip Hop Culture
Most hip hop songs and videos have lyrics and scenes that demean and humiliate women.
Showing scenes of violence to women, demeaning them and depicting them as sex objects or
subjects of submission to men is Misogyny. Present also is brutality against women descriptions.
There have been voluminous scholars talking about it yet the argument is unquenched. Misogyny
in hip hop society has its core deep in the American ethos, and it has its outcome on the same
nation. Misogyny in songs is taking ring on young persons, and it is swiftly touching the young
females in the black civilization. The effects of Misogyny in hip hop culture, losses weight with
as the age of listener s advances. Misogyny in hip hop culture is not something that is ending, yet
it may fade with time. The chances of it fading are not certain but with the current trend, hip hop
artists may realize it does not do much good as bad. This essay will discuss the power following
Misogyny in hip hop culture, the outcomes it has on the audience and the future of Misogyny in hip
hop. McFarland 2003 argues that the origin of Misogyny in music, not only in hip hop is the
society and culture it has for so long endeared. Normally, people in America have valued the boy
child, to endowing men as adults (McFarland, 102). At the same time, they have considered women
as subjects to men who should show total submission. This argument has found many backups, with
scholars and authors arguing that the American culture is the force

How Does Marjane Satrapi Use Animation In Persepolis
In the animation Persepolis, Marjane Satrapi uses color in the beginning of the animation
during her present day life and black and white for flashbacks or her past life. The majority of
the animation is the story of Marjane s life in the past so it is in mostly black and white. This is
an interesting way of using color because in a way color is used as a form of timeline, there are
parts of the animation that switch from present to past, so Satrapi just switches from black and
white to color to show time period. I find this concept very appealing and creative. are the growing

Marjane grew up in Iran during the Iran/Iraq war in the 1970s which creates a layer of

frustrated by the current events being war and violence. By taking us through her life starting the

on being an Iranian woman during this time. I did not know that women in Iran during the post
war periods were treated so poorly by men in authority, I also did not know that alcohol was a

Marjane went from being so restrained in Iran to smoking pot at punk concerts in Europe. When an

animation. Satrapi did not hold back in language, emotion, and details throughout the story of this

Bi-Articular Strength Lab Report
In order to test the passive sufficiency of a bi articular structure, such as a muscle, both joints which
that structure crosses must first be identified. Additionally, the movements of those two joints
which will constrain that structure must be identified. Next, one joint must be selected, and placed
into the position that may constrain the structure. At the same time, the other joint must be placed
in the position which will NOT put further strain on that structure. The selected joint must then be
measured for its range of motion. Next, the same must be done with the selected joint, but in
contrast, the other joint must be placed in the position which WILL further constrain the bi
articular structure. Once that has been done, the selected joint s range of motion must be measured
once more.
If the range of motion of the selected joint is equal when the other joint is in both positions, the bi
articular structure is passively sufficient. If the range of motion of the selected joint is smaller in
the selected joint when the other joint is in a position that will put further strain on the bi articular
structure, that structure is not passively sufficient.
The rectus femoris crosses both the hip and knee. In order to test its passive sufficiency, either of
the joints ranges of motion could be measured. In this example, range of motion will be measured
at the hip. The rectus femoris will be most constrained when the knee is flexed and the hip is
extended. For this test, the

The media plays a massive role in the politics of the United States today and truly sets the agenda
and makes an extensive impression on public opinion. Through political advertising on the Internet

healthcare, presidency candidates, and many other concerns can be immensely swayed. Many
Americans are not politically intelligent or knowledgeable in current events so one well thought

two parts to the cardiologist job. The first being a cardiologist specializes in the diagnosing,
preventing and treating the diseases of the heart and blood vessels. The second is an interventional
cardiologist which can perform a number of invasive tests and procedures to assist in the
diagnosing and treatments of the disease. There are also Cardio vascular surgeons who specialize
in the surgeries of the heartand vascular system. To be able to treat patients cardiologists can
perform a number of tests such as echocardiograms (soundwave picture to look at the structure and
function of the heart), Ambulatory ECG (recording during activity to look for abnormal heart
rhythms), Exercise test (study to measure your heart s performance and limitations), and Cardiac
catheterization (test in which a small tube is placed in or near the heart to take pictures, look at
how the heart is working, check the electrical systems, and help relieve... Show more content on

This is just a few of the many tests they may perform to make a determination. Cardiologist may
diagnose a patient with aortic stenosis, which is the narrowing of the aortic valve orifice, caused
by failure of the valve leaflets opening like normal. Another diagnosis could end up being acute
myocardial infarction also known as a heart attack. Which is normally caused by a blockage.
Pulmonary embolic disease may be another diagnosis they may come to a conclusion on based on
symptoms. The two most common causes for this disease is pulmonary embolism and deep venous
thrombosis. Cardiologist have to go through years of training. They will start by completing all
their prerequisite premedical undergraduate courses but not required to complete their bachelors.
Most medical students will complete it though. Medical school is a requirement in order to earn
the Doctor of Medicine degree. This is generally 4

The Moral And Ethical Ethics Of Tyco
Introduction
This paper is about the lack of moral and ethical leadership of Tyco International s former highest
paid chief executive officer (CEO) Dennis Kozlowski (Kaplan, 2009). Tyco International is a
business leader in Global Fire Safety and Security Solutions. Tyco s United States headquarters are
in Princeton, New Jersey and the Corporate Headquarters in Schaffhausen, Switzerland. According
to Kaplan (2009), over a decade, Dennis Kozlowski was a charismatic and ambitious CEO who had
earned the nickname Deal a Day Dennis because of his notorious business decisions including
aggressive and speedy acquisitions. Dennis was a leader determined to make Tyco the greatest
company and succeeded well in transforming it from a $1.5 billion manufacturer into an industrial
corporation worth more than $100 billion (Kaplan, 2009).
Ethical issues
In June 2002, Kozlowski was accused by the Manhattan district attorney Robert Morgenthau, of
evading $1 million in sales tax on the purchase of rare artwork (Timeline of the Tyco International
scandal, 2005). This investigation opened up a can of worms indicting Kozlowski along with
Tyco s former chief financial officer (CFO) Mark H. Swartz of looting millions of dollars from
the company, misconstruing financial records and doctoring business records (Brickey, 2008). In
September 2002, Kozlowski and Swartz were accused of stealing more than $170 million dollars
from Tyco and swindling $430 million in the sale of company shares.

Mozart Family Concert Review Paper
Mozart Family Concert
In late 2013, the Blue Ridge Orchestra was invited to be one of the featured ensembles in the
Asheville Symphony s Mozart festival Asheville Amadeus. After discussions with ASO Executive
Director David Whitehill, it was decided in February of 2014 that the BRO would present a
Family Concert on March 21, 2015, the Saturday before the Finale concert with pianist Emanuel
Ax. The challenge presented was to design a program that would appeal to both Mozart novices
and Mozart aficionados.

The Significance Of Kristallnacht And The Night Of Broken...
Assess the significance of Kristallnacht
Kristallnacht, or the Night of Broken Glass , is one of the most crucial events in German, Jewish,
and World History. Before, the Jews were simply assaulted and verbally abused. However, on the
night of November 9, 1938, an unplanned and extremely violent action against the Jews occurred. In
two days, over 250 synagogues were burnt down while the fire department did nothing to stop it,
over 7,000 Jewish businesses were trashed and looted, Jews were murdered, Jewish cemeteries,
schools, hospitals, and homes were looted by SS while the police attempted to preserve them but
failed. Before Kristallnacht, Jews lives were not threatened. Historically Jews were not welcome by

Finally, many purely hated Jews because they were not Aryan. Germanywas one of these countries.
Hitler, the leader of Germany, has carried hate for the Jews since early childhood. Primarily, he
blamed them for his mother s death along with him not getting into his dream school, Vienna Art
College. Also, they were blamed by Germany for defeat in WWI and as the cause for
unemployment. However, mainly Jews were persecuted because of the way they looked. At the
time, Hitler wanted a racially pure Germany. He believed that by adapting the Darwin theory of
survival of the fittest, he would be able to create a stronger generation and kill those that are
impure or disabled.
Prior to the horrific Night of Broken Glass Jews material comforts and mental health declined
due to the early Nazi anti Jew moves in 1933. On the 1st of April 1933, the SA organized a
boycott of all Jewish shops and businesses. However, due to the lack of interest and customer
loyalty to Jews businesses, the boycott failed. Along with the boycott, in 1933, Jewish civil
servants, teachers, bankers, and lawyers were sacked and Race Science lessons taught that Jews
were inferior. To add, in 1934, they were also banned from public places including swimming pools
and parks. Along with their mental health being put at risk so were their material comforts. On

Immigration And Migration During The Vietnam War
Immigration and Migration have greatly impacted Minnesota history from the state s beginning to
the present. The impact of migration from the end of the 1800s to the Vietnam War to today has
brought social, cultural, and political changes that have shaped the state. Within each time period,
different ethnic groups migrated to Minnesota, including: Europeans, Africans, and Asians. People
of different backgrounds moved to the same location, bringing their culture, views and beliefs with
them. The migration periods: the iron range from the end of the 1800s to 1920, after the end of the
Vietnam War, and today contain similarities and differences. There s no doubt that the migration of
people has greatly influenced the present, as will the migration of people today influence the future.
The Age of mass Migration took place in 1880 1924; it was a migration primarily of people from
Southern and Eastern Europe. During the early twentieth century, the population of the Iron Range
was among the most ethnically diverse in Minnesota. Tens of thousands of immigrants arrived from
over thirty places of origin during the early twentieth century to the Iron Range in Minnesota. They
mined ore in the Iron Range, building its communities.
Minnesota has the following iron ranges: The Vermillion, the Mesabi Range, and the Cuyuna. are
collectively known as the Iron Range. The Vermilion, located in the northern part of the state, began
its ore shipment in 1884. The Mesabi Range was the most

St Thomas Aquinas Influence On Religion
Have you ever wanted to pray before a test, but didn t know who to pray to? Saint Thomas
Aquinas is the patron saint of students and education. Throughout his life, he taught us various
ways on how to believe in what we believe in. He also taught us to chase our dreams, even when
it is not approved by the people around us. Saints are those who follow Christ and live their lives
according to his teachings. They are known as the standard operating models for human beings.
Catholics, however, also use the term narrowly to refer to special holy men and women who
entered Heaven through extraordinary lives of virtue. Because a saint is holy, they know both the
bad news of sin and the good news of salvation. Catholics honor the saints because they are
known as model Christians and practiced great virtue during their life on Earth. We can honor the
saints by imitating their holy lives, praying to them, and by showing respect for their relics and
images. St. Thomas Aquinas was born in 1225 in Roccasecca, Italy. At the age of 4, Thomas was

Tattoos Of Ancient Egyptian Women Essay
One in every five Americans have a tattoo. It is no longer surprising to see people with markings
on their bodies. Many believed it is a form of self expression. Even though some cultures or
religions view tattoos as a negative thing, that does not stop people from getting them. To have a
better understanding about tattoos we must go back and trace how it all began. From the tools,
they used to the ink, it is incredible how tattooinghas evolved over the years. Tattoos have been
around since 3,000 B.C. The oldest discovery of a tattooed mummy was the Iceman . The frozen
body was discovered by hikers in 1991. The tattoos discovered on the body had no specific
drawing there were just straight lines and small crosses. This led to believed that tattooing was
used as a therapeutic to relieve pain. The Egyptians hold the true claim to fame regarding tattoos. It
was common practice for Egyptian women of high status to received tattoos for the same sort of
therapeutic reasons. Tattooing of ancient Egyptian women had a therapeutic role and function as a

Gilgamesh s Epic Of Gilgamesh
The story of Epic of Gilgamesh deals with different behaviors in Gilgamesh. Throughout the story
Gilgamesh behavior changes, he is portrayed as overbearing ruler, as a courageous and strong
fighter to his peoples, and finally as a man who seems content with what he s accomplished.
Through all of these transitions, we see Gilgamesh s attitude toward life change. The goals he has
for his own life alter dramatically, and it is in these goals that we see Gilgamesh s transition from
being a shallow, ruthless ruler to being an introspective, content man.
In the beginning of the story Gilgamesh is described to be an overly aggressive ruler. People
respect him, but they dislike Gilgamesh sexual and physical aggression, so they called to the gods
to lighten their burden with Gilgamesh. The gods created an equal to have control over him and to
also keep him in line, so they send Enkidu. Enkidu has an immediate impact on Gilgamesh, these
two never met before. And they both did not hit it off right with each other. They basically had a
brawl with each other. The gods gave Gilgamesh a real battle to deal with, Enkidu instantly changes
Gilgamesh behaviors throughout the story; Gilgamesh and Enkidu fighting with each other creates
a serious mess, but they both end up without animosity toward the other. In having this equal this
gives Gilgamesh to learn to have respect for him and another man around him. Gilgamesh and
Enkidu behavior with each other is how human in today society act,

Essay about Mgmt 591 Woodson Coalition Week 3 Case Study 1
Part 1: Group Development The genesis and growth of a group always goes through five stages:
forming, storming, norming, performing and adjourning. Forming is always the first stage, where
the group members meet for the first time and roles as well as structure and purpose are not firmly
established. This stage closes when the individuals label themselves as a group. Appropriately
named, the storming stage is defined by intragroup conflict in the areas of limited autonomy and
leadership, and is a critical in group development. The resolution of this stage comes with a visible
leader along with rankings of group members. After the dust has settled, the norming stage begins

The three organizations must come to an understanding on the issues presented first before
commencing on creating the after school program.
The secondary problem encountered in this case is the diversity among the students and parents,
school officials, NCPIE officials, and Woodson officials. We see that diversity is a very important
part in forming the coalition, as the student population is a mix of African American, Caucasians
and Hispanics. While the NCPIE is representative of students in Washington, D.C., the Woodson
Foundation is located in Virginia and is composed of mainly Caucasian professionals. There are
cultural, demographic, racial, ethnic, and location concerns that need to be taken into consideration
when forming an effective team.
Part 3: Retrospective Evaluation Although the differences in the ways and means vary among the
organizations, there are shared common goals meeting the needs of the students which consists
primarily of learning, and engaging the parents participation in the school system. These goals
should be at the forefront of every major decision while asking Does this decision help the students?
Leaders of this coalition need to be selected from a pool of candidates. The best way to equally
represent all the organizations and their influence in the process is to choose a candidate from each
organization. Criteria for these leaders should include situation specific experience, openness to

The things that held the Igbo tribe together were their close bonds of clan kinship, unified
allegiance to their gods, and their democratic society. These were the very things that the English

This confusion at the refusal of the Igbos to accept positions such as this is well illustrated in

What! shouted Clarke. Is the fellow mad?
I tink so sah, said the interpreter.
In that case he goes back to prison. Clarke was now really angry. What cheek! A witch doctor

The selection of Ezeulu as a potential Warrant Chief is typical of the kind of selection regularly

community. However, the responses of those chosen were not always as idealistic as Ezeulu s.
Many Igbos jumped at the chance of some real power, safe in the knowledge that they were backed

Gender Roles In Video Games
Do you like to play video games? The world of video games is mainly represented by males.
Some people in this industry are trying to push more representation of the females who play these
games. Many people are supporting this and pushing the change but some are opposed to it.
Gaming design is influenced by preexisting sexist ideas.
Through the history of video games women have always been represented poorly. The main
characters of video games tend to be white males and they do deserve representation but they are
not the only ones who deserve it. Popular video games like Call of Duty, Watchdogs, and Assassin s
Creed all have similar main characters throughout the series; tall, muscular, and powerful men.
Though the video game industry has done a poor job of representing women, men are also subject
to the pressure of video games and media. Halo and Mortal Kombat are long running video game
series and the physical appearances of their characters has been studied through their history. Female
characters have become more slender with larger breasts and wear less clothing. Male characters
have become more muscular and aggressive. These traits which are also popular in the media can
affect the way people think of society. It influences what people think they should be or look like

My Teaching Philosophy
Since the beginning of my academic career, teaching has always been an important part of my
academic duties.
The interaction that I have with students is not only enjoyable to me, but it also gives me an
invaluable perspective on the subjects I am teaching. Since I started my position at the
Mathematical Institute at the University of
Oxford, I have tutored in four classes across three semesters and supervised two projects, as
detailed in my CV.
I am also tutoring two new undergraduate classes in the first semester of 2017. I was also a teaching

I was particularly happy when a student would give a solution that is different from the one I had in
mind. In that instance, I would encourage the student to give further details and I would ask other
students if they had other methods. This ensured that the students were not only engaged but
actively contributing to the lecture. Even though student engagement is easier to accomplish in
smaller classrooms, it is even more important in larger classrooms where students voices drown in
the hollow of the lecture hall. Ensuring that at least a portion of the students is engaged will
encourage certain students to ask questions which are likely to be on the mind of other, more
reserved, students.
In my opinion, learning in a class should simulate scientific research as much as possible. When a
researcher in mathematics studies a new subject, she starts with an observation, makes a
conjecture, verifies the conjecture with experiments and finally, formulates a generalisation with a
proof. This process enforces a context which the researcher keep referring to, namely the original
example. The result is a deeper understanding of the concepts and the ability to predict the future
ones. As a teacher, I try to simulate a faster version of this research process.
I try to start from simple examples that demonstrate some aspect of the topic. I then try to make the

Term Structure of Interest Rate
WITH REFERENCE TO THE UK EXPLAIN THE CONCEPT OF THE TERM STRUCTURE OF
INTEREST? WHAT INFLUENCE DOES THE BANK OF ENGLAND HAVE OVER THE TERM
STRUCTURE AND WHY IS IT IMPORTANT FOR MONETARY POLICY
To understand the term structure of interest rate we need to elaborate how interest rates function
and how they are determined. Interest rates are a vital tool to all the macro economic policy
objectives of a government such as control of inflation, investment as well as employment. Interest
rates refer to the price paid by deficit agents for borrowing funds from the surplus agents. A line that
plots interest rate at a set point in time is the term structure or yield curve.
Interest rates which may be short term or long term are linked to a ... Show more content on

This particular curve is unusual as it is inverted. The market is anticipating a fall in rates and hence
the shape of the yield curves. The sensitivity of such a curve can be explained taking into account
that the change in the rates reflected is small, 0.24% over the duration of the security, 30 years. This
is quite relevant when speculating on future economic conditions. (www.bankofengland.co.uk)
There are three main theories which relate to yield curves. The pure expectations theory implies
that forward rates are unbiased estimators of future interest rates. This theory states that the term
structure of interest rates reflects the views of the market about the path of future short term
interest rates. Thus when explaining a positive yield curve, the market will be expecting short term
interest rates to rise in the future. The opposite applies when the curve is negative and when flat the
markets expect short term interest rates to remain approximately the same. This theory generally
over estimate interest rates and does not assume that investors are risk averse and want a higher
return when investing.
The liquidity preference theory states that bond holders are risk averse and wish to be
compensated for holding the long term security by a liquidity premium. The normal yield curve to
explain this should be up sloping indicating preference for liquidity by investors and lower risk of
shorter term

How Does Beetle Mass Affect The Beetle s Pulling Power
Mackenzie Madden, T.J Manning,September 2nd, 2015 Danny Minogue, Lindsay Newton
The Effect of Beetle Mass on the Beetle s Pulling Power
Introduction
Does beetle mass effect the pulling power? This theory has been tested by conducting an
experiment with a bess beetle and some paperclips. Pulling power was calculated by dividing the
mass the beetle pulled by the mass of the individual beetle. The data that was collected was
processed into a graph that shows how mass affects the pulling power of these beetles. Bess
beetles are very interesting creatures with a lot of variety. The Bess beetle population makes up
0.14% of all beetles so it was definitely hard to pick just the right one to test. The hypothesis of
this experiment is if the beetle has a large mass, then it will be able to have more pulling power.

Next the beetle was weighed and it s weight was recorded. The dental floss was then tied around
the second and third legs, and taped to the petri dish. A strip of cloth was also needed to provide
traction for the beetle. Then, the petri dish was removed from the beetle and the weight of the
petri dish was recorded. The experiment was then ready to be performed. Paperclips were added
to the dish every 5 10 seconds until the beetle could pull it no more. Then, the petri dish was
removed from the beetle and the weight of was recorded. This experiment s dependent variable was
the amount of mass the beetle can pull, and the independent variable was the mass of the beetle.
There was no control group in this experiment. These were the materials and methods used to

Ethics In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
During this presentation we will explore some of the key morals and ethics of medical science
presented in Mary Shelley s Frankenstein.
On January 1st 2018 the tale of Frankenstein will have been around for 200 years. However, his
legacy, as we know, will continue almost indefinitely. Ironically, achieving what Victor Frankenstein
was unable, physically, to do: preserve life.
Mary Shelley s novel has fascinated millions for its many controversial topics, the most intriguing
and debate inducing, being the moral questions that it presents.
By many, Mary Shelley s Frankenstein can be seen as a warning towards any new type of
scientific research being developed. For myself, and many others, it is not only this but a book of
morals to learn from. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Doctor David B. Resnik generally describes these basic rules in his online article: What is Ethics in
Research Why is it Important? . Out of the 16 rules stated Frankenstein breaks 7: honesty,
carefulness, openness, social responsibility, legality, animal care and most noticeably human
subjects protection.
Dr. Resnik describes Human Subjects Protection as: minimize harms and risks and maximize
benefits; respect human dignity, privacy, and autonomy; take special precautions with vulnerable
populations .
As we know this is not what happens. Due to, what I believe to be, Victor s God Complex he
takes it upon himself to create an entirely new species (Shelley, 44) and in doing so maximises
the harms and risks to his human and animal communities, as he is unaware of the nature of his
creation or what dangerous power it could possess. Not only this but by creating his monster he
makes it vulnerable to the world it is born into as it was made as a solitary creature, with no
special precautions taken to protect it. As well as this, the process of Victor s scientific experiment
completely disregards any ideas of respecting human dignity, privacy, and autonomy as he, in his
own words, collected bones from charnel houses, and disturbed, with profane fingers, the
tremendous secrets of the human frame (Shelley,

Analysis Of The Story Eveline By James Joyce
Eveline The story begins with a silver lining in a memory that deepens into a pit of depression
The narrator helps to describe her memories as Eveline, staring blankly out a window, wallows
in her conflicting feelings of adoration and isolation. Today in many places, what takes place in
Dublin during 1914 as common place family dynamics, can be recognized as a cyclical pattern
of abuse between a controlling and manipulative father, his demure and defenseless wife, and
their helpless and hopeful children. In the story Eveline written by James Joyce the main
character is suffering from symptoms of vicarious trauma and abuse, and although she
recognizes, and fantasizes about the option and possibility of a better life, ultimately she finds
herself a victim of circumstance, frozen in time, unable to make a decision, she is forced to
watch her opportunity fade from her grasp. Eveline exhibits the qualities of a young woman who
has spent her life exposed to traumatic, systematic abuse. As she looks out over the field of her
childhood, reaching into the past to pull forward the memories of friends and happiness, a foul
taste creeps in to her mind of Her father [who] used often to hunt them in out of the field with his
blackthorn stick; (Joyce) and the author gives the first indicator that Eveline s life has been little
more than tragic. An abusive parent is bad enough, but the real despair she must feel is driven home
when Eveline s thoughts reveal the unthinkable: her

My Math Experience Reflection
As I reflect on my first four week of algebra I recall being very skeptical that I could learn and
complete a mathematics course with a passing grade. Thats because I had not taken a
mathematics course since graduating high school in 1999. I struggled with match in high
school and never really felt overly confident that I could learn and apply mathematics in real life.
Over the past four weeks I have learned a great deal of information and how algebra can be
applied in real world applications. The course has been challenging but I feel that I am doing ok
and I am hopeful that I can pass this course and move on to attaining my degree. The course
material has at times been challenging to comprehend and apply. One of the most difficult parts
of the course has been with the course going on during the Christmas and New Years holiday. I
know in the past Grantham has advertised and granted extensions for assignment due dates
based on holidays. Being an active duty member in the military working full time and trying to
manage a home and work life balance it can be challenging especially during the holidays. I spent
most of Christmas day working on my pre test and quiz for week 3. Its tuff to break away from the
family and try to explain that I need to take care of my homework. But if this is whats required to
achieve my goal of earning a degree its a small price to pay. I think the study strategy that has

All About My Brother Essay
If there is something that cannot be disputed by any single individual is the prevalence of
disabilities in the world. What people may not be so informed upon is the types of handicaps that
exist and how those who either have them or know people that do, deal with them. Having
disabilities in the past used to come with much negativity and discrimination for people generally
weren t accepting and cognizant of all the possible elements of life. However, with the increased
availability of literature on the matter, more people have started to become aware and realize that
handicaps shouldn t be viewed in this demeaning manner, in turn, they are becoming more
understanding and compassionate. Impressions start young, so it is extremely beneficial for the
information about disabilities to start in children s books. As kids become... Show more content on

The book, All About my Brother, written and illustrated by eight year old, Sarah Peralta, addresses
autism and gives insight into the sibling relationship from her childlike perspective. Throughout,
she gives her simple depictions of her brother Evan s everyday behavior. With every page she
gives encouragement to others in dealing with autism without fear or pity. This story is an expert
way to introduce this type of disability to children and help them understand and look past it to
notice the wonderful person inside. Not only is her relationship to her brother advantageous to
the writing of this book, but her age is as well. An eight year old s perspective on such a matter
provides an understanding that not even adults or specialists can put into words. The power of a
child s storytelling on complex ideas, promotes universal compassion and also illustrates how
intellectual children are. This story would be a formidable classroom addition and not only serves
to teach other children about dealing with autism, but adults as

Reduction of Part Counts and Composite Materials for...
Composite materials comprise significantly greater percentages of airframe structural materials
used throughout the aerospace manufacturing process. This increased usage has led many
individuals within the Air Force (AF) community and Department of Defense (DoD) leaders to
restudy the life cycle cost (LCC) models used to estimate the costs for most weapon systems. A
series of composite affordability initiatives (CAI) have culminated in significant evidence over the
last three decades which aids in better quantifying the impact of primarily advanced composite
materials in the airframe structures of aircraft. Current accelerated use of advanced composite
materials in aircraft, sporting goods, and medical products is a result of the versatility of
composites. This paper finds that a significant relationship exists between the reduction of the part
counts and the large scale advanced composite materials used in life cycle cost (LCC) models for
aircraft structures. The reduction percentages in the part counts led to reductions in the percentages
of touch labor hours in design, design support, testing, tooling, manufacturing, and quality
assurance. This percentage of reduction affects most development and production cost categories.
Introduction: The available life cycle cost (LCC) models and procurement strategies do not take
into consideration the varied manufacturing techniques for advanced composite materials. The

Hamburger Essay
Big Tasty Hamburger At times when we are in a hurry, hamburgers are one of the easiest foods to
eat while on the go. No matter what time it is whether its breakfast, lunch, or dinner we grab a
hamburger and might throw in some fries and a soda to go with it. Many restaurants are known to
make their hamburgers in a specific way. Preparation differs from restaurant to restaurant. But what
really makes a hamburgertaste so delicious? Depending where you go they will taste different but
they are all structured the same. It consists of a bun, a ground meat pattyand often ingredients such
as cheese, onion slices, lettuce and other condiments.

Third but not least, the conclusion provides an almost mirror image of the introduction,
wrapping up the arguments with a restatement of the thesis of your essay. I call this the bottom
burger bun or in other words the conclusion. Holding it all together is the bottom bun of the
hamburger or the conclusion to sum up all the key points of interest. The conclusion sentence
should be interesting by giving it a call to action. As you can see a hamburger is easy to make
like writing is not as hard as you think. Writing is very simple to do as preparing a hamburger.
Although, most of the time hamburgers are dry and taste like cardboard. They are the ones that
tend to not be juicy or appealing to the eye. Believe it or not, essays are similar to dry burgers.
Writing essays can lack clear thoughts, explanations, and opinions as well as vague arguments.
As a result an essay that is boring and not interesting end up receiving a poor grade. However, a
hamburger can be re made to taste better like an essay can be revised or edited.
In writing, as in other kinds of production, the process directly affects the quality of the product. If
we prepare a meal quickly, assembling poor ingredients without much thought or attention, we aren
t likely to end up with a tasty dish. The best chefs, like the best writers, refine their methods and
think carefully about what they are doing, with close attention to detail to

Simba Essay
In this film, various techniques have been utilized to create this theme, which is significantly the
theme of family. The director depicts Simba as the champion of good while on the opposite side
Scar represents the force of evil. The director preferred Simba due to his inquisitive nature and
innocence, which eventually leads him to danger. Likewise, the director selected Scar due to his
lack of conscience and evil acts depicting him as a villain. These two sides of the story implement
the familytheme taking into consideration that all the veil plans scar makes meant to offend his
very own family members and brethren. He also cripples the land to which his family is living.
For example, the movie starts out by Mufasa who is virtuous, revealing that the reality of the
animal kingdom is in a subtle balance of animal and plant life. Subsequently an equitable and a
decent king is aware and respects this truth. When Scar assumes control over the kingdom,

Essay On Digital Assistant
Students primarily rely on professors and academic advisors to recommend a class schedule to them
each semester. On the student side, it is assumed that this recommended schedule is moving them
toward graduation while preparing them for career success. However, given that upper level classes
in the CS/IT department at Clayton State Universityaren t always offered every semester, students
can risk delaying graduationand not being fully career ready, by not doing enough of their own
research into the classes they need. Being able to verify the researched class requirements against
the advised class requirements is a crucial step in getting more students graduating from the CS and

[1] If a student, or an advisor makes a mistake in calculating the student s credits and pre requisites,
or if the student has other issues with registration (course substitutions, department approvals, etc),
the student is then forced to create more appointments with the advisor to get things on track for
them. This process points to challenges in the academic advising model that leaves students
disconnected from their education and can result in more dire consequences including delayed
graduation. In the work of Luna, Gaye, et.al, the authors stated that E advising can establish a
support system for rural graduate students by creating a means of accessibility and communication.
Through e advising, rural graduates students have an opportunity to self direct and contribute to
their own educational advisement needs. Universities can use e advising to foster successful
students by creating more accessibility and communication. [2] While course work and advising at
the graduate level has it s distinctions from advising at the undergraduate level, some core concepts
still ring true. Advising through technology empowers the students to take charge of their
education, and ensure their goals are being met according to their schedule. Though digital
assistants aren t capable of filling the full role of a human academic advisor, giving students access
to key, basic information will make all advising more effective.

Analysis Of Frantz Fanon s Black Skin, White Masks
Frantz Fanon s, Black Skin, White Masks provides an account of the detrimental effects of
colonization and racism for the black psyche. He depicts through the personal retelling of traumatic
objectification and through analysis of the productive and reproductive effects of collective
catharsis a situation of a social psychosis. According to Fanon, there is something unambiguous
about the situations of colonialism and racismthat affect the black man, the nightmares that repeat
colonial trauma and violence. However, Fanon discusses a specific type of trauma colonial
subjugation which results in the black man s self division of his two dimensions It is in this text

The very moment the French fleets land on the Madagascar shores, injury without measure occurs
and produces a societal trauma that changes all relations. This act is the onset of the shattering of
both culture and the self. The colonizer has taken not only horizons...but its psychological
mechanisms the native s ability to produce their own selfhood. The colonization of Madagascar
thus resulted in a cultural genocide. The imposition of the imperial language on the colonised
subject in chapter one of Black Skin, White Masks wherein the black subject must unlearn their
own mother tongue and speak French in order to be part of his or her new colonial world. The
colonized subject, who is instructed to read and write in the language of their colonizer, speaks in
the very formulation of words with which their existence is spoken for them, and by doing so
upholds the notion of civilization in that language. Fanon notes culture still remains, but now the
Malagasy exists with the European and have lost their basic structure .
Akin to the Malagasy, Fanon had no access to his ancestral homeland or language, and similarly to
many other black subjects, this lack of personal and cultural history is a visceral bearing as the
trauma of colonization causes a shattering of the self. According to Fanon, the self comes into being
through the body so when the body is subject to colonial abuse, this violence is reproduced through
the self. More disturbingly however,

Value Of American Culture Essay
Kluckhohn and Strodtbeck advocate that cultures mature into different states depending on their
value orientations. These orientations involve human s relationships with nature, time, motive,
human behavior, and other humans. Most cultures develop by putting their value into some aspects
of these orientations over others. An example, Americans put valueinto nature and their relation to
God. When only comparing the world s industrialized nations, America is known for having a
higher percentage of citizens that believe in God. Thus, this illustrates how America has been
shaped by this orientation. In my experience, I have seen a few of these orientations at work
affecting myself and the football team. When I look back, I can understand the orientations better.
Our team was always worried about time and how to use it properly. The individuals that made up
the team had to set aside some of their personal principles to make the team better as a whole, as
well as, push themselves to act and become improved. The achievement of doing so would give the
entire team determination to continue and follow suit. While training, we would visit the past and

Causes Of Operation Rolling Thunder
March 2nd, 1965 November 1st, 1968, was the time that an aerial bombardment was unleashed
upon North Vietnam. The American bombing campaign was code named, Operation Rolling
Thunder. During this time over 7 million tons of bombs were dropped in Vietnam. These air
strikes that lasted for little over 3 years has caused over 90,000 casualties with at least 72,000 being
civilians of Vietnam. And due to operational circumstances, over 900 U.S aircrafts were lost and
745 crewmen were shot down.
There was a huge cost following Operation Rolling Thunder , with an estimated $300 million of
physical damage dealt in Vietnam. The cost to the U.S estimating at $900 million. Originally the
cost shouldn t have been that high, because the attacks were supposed to last only 8 weeks, but
ended up lasting 3 years. The main objective of Operation Rolling Thunder , was to demoralize the
North Vietnam people and to undermine the capacity of the government. Although the cost was
effective, the attacks weren t, as the Vietnamese came up with an effective defense for the
bombing raids, with assistance from China and The Soviet Union. By using surface to air missiles
and radar controlled anti aircraft artillery, the Vietnamese were able to shoot down American planes
over the course of the bombing campaigns. Thus, leading to a stalemate, where Vietnam was
damaged, but so was the U.S.
The Operation Rolling Thunder campaign expanded little by little in range and extremity. In the

In the teenage years there is a fight for identity, and belonging. Thus gangs will take advantage of
this desire, and need, because young people are highly impressionable. A common public
perception is that most youth are coerced into joining a gang (Howell, 2007). The opposite is
indeed true. Most join of their own volition. Gangs are often at the center of appealing social
action parties, hanging out, music, drugs, and opportunities to socialize with members of the
opposite sex. The gang may be appealing because it meets a youth s social needs. (Howell, 2007)
Many young people willing join gangs because of their protection, fun, respect, money, or because a
friend was in the gang.
Many innocent civilians are caught in the crossfire of gang violence. Like terrorism, many civilians
homes, work places, and transportation, is up for grabs in aiding ongoing turf wars, and gang
retaliations. Many of the gang members obviously have varying perspectives and perceptions on
dealings with one another, over both serious, and more trivial situations.
From an order perspective, the situation is looked at from an objective point of view. To keep
order, each person s or group s perspectives, must be heard, from a point of equality, and fairness.
When it comes to conflict we have a problem. If gang members from the gang of a young man who

retribution. They will tend to seek immediate

  • 2. A Report On Japanese Tea As Japanese Tea Ceremony is an important part of Japanese food and culture, drinking tea was initially popular in China since the fourth century. From history, tea plants did not grow in Japan initially until the first seeds were brought from China during the Tang Dynasty (China 618 907). During this period, the two countries were at their prime as they were experiencing growing relationships and cultural exchanges between each other. In China, teawas esteemed for its medicinal value and represented an elegant drink. According to legend, the history of tea in Japan was created 1,300 years ago by a Buddhist monk, named Bodhidharma. Uniquely, the story is that he would have a daily routine of meditating for nine years just by staring at the wall of a cave. In his own personal journey, he battled his occasional drowsiness where he has to drink tea to ease the pain. Eventually, he came up with the idea of cutting off his eyelids, so his eyes would not close. Supposedly, on the place where he placed his severed eyelids, the first tea bushes appeared. From this legend, it was reported that this story is why the tea ceremony is so important to Zen Buddhism and Japanese culture as he was an important role model. (Hays, 2013) Initially, tea started as a powdered tea which were tea leaves that are steamed, dried, and then crushed into powder. In addition, the tea developed the split bamboo whisk that was to be stirred into the hot water. Throughout time, China replaced the powdered ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, now nearly 90 percent of the people who tried heron for the first time in the past decade were white. And a growing number of them are middle class or wealthy. The image of needle using inter city junkies is no longer the case, these new users are our suburban neighbors, sons, daughters, fathers and mothers. Most opioid users first try pills from the family medicine cabinet. The pill bottles that all of us keep around long after what they were originally prescribed for has been forgotten. • 4. Righteousness In The Conflict Between Job And Job Job was a righteous man who feared God and upheld divine standards. He abounded in gifts of mercy and acts of godly devotion. Job routinely offered sacrifices to atone for his children s sins. Hence, God was quite pleased to observe as his servant maintained integrity in his dealing. The Almighty spoke about Job s godly devotion to Satanthe Devil. In fact, Satan claimed that Job was primarily concerned with selfish interests. God decided to allow Satan to bring trials upon Job to test the patriarch s motives. In this essay, I will highlight the significance of righteousness in the debates between Job and his friends. Job s debate with his friends was precipitated by the former s determination to uphold righteous standards. Notably, Job experienced tremendous tribulations due to Satan s efforts. His 10 children died while his livestock was killed. Job s servants also died under mysterious circumstances. Unfortunately, his wife deserted and mocked him for his faith in God. In fact, she taunted him to curse God and died. Nevertheless, these events could not break Job s integrity. Satan was determined to intensify his physical attacks on Job. Job was struck with a debilitating illness that subjected him to constant pain. Members of the community also shunned him. Later, three friends of Job came to visit him. However, they did not say anything to Job for three day. Job s friends claimed that he was suffering due to secret sins. Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar were quite ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Voyeurism In Alfred Hitchcock s Rear Window Alfred Hitchcock s Rear Window (1954), is a psychological thriller that addresses themes of voyeurism as well as morality and ethics. The film is centered around L.B. Jeffries, an action photographer who is wheelchair bound following an accident that has left him with a broken leg. Stuck within the confides of his apartment, he finds pleasure observing the lives of his neighbors through his rear window. Things change for Jeffries when he believes that he has witnessed the murder of one of his neighbours. This essay analyzes the concluding fifteen minutes of the film, in which many of the films overarching questions are answered. Alfred Hitchcockuses the characters in Rear Window to control the emotions of the audience, he does this by projecting the emotions of characters onto the viewers. This raises questions of the morality and consequences of voyeurism, as well as questions of human curiosity.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Culture has many definitions, and it affects everything people do in their society because of their ideas, values, attitudes, and normative or expected patterns of behaviour. Culture is not genetically inherited, and cannot exist on its own, but is always shared by members of a society (Hall 1976, p. 16). Hofstede (1980, pp. 21 23) defines culture as the collective programming of the mind which distinguishes the members of one group from another , which is passed from generation to generation, it is changing all the time because each generation adds something of its own before passing it on. The social capital literature has shown that socially held beliefs can shape not only collective actions but government and economic performance (North 1981; Knack and Keefer, 1997; Landes, 1998; La Porta et al., 1999; Putnam, 1993). • 8. Main Themes Of The Prince By Machiavelli 1. Machiavelli wrote The Prince because he wanted to give Lorenzo The Magnificent, a book that highlights major keys to being a Prince and being one efficiently. Also, The Prince was written because to gain endeavor by the prince it is customary to give him something a person holds most valuable, Machiavelli held his knowledge most valuable. 2. The way Governments are Established and Held , is a theme in The Prince. Machiavelli says, The dominions thus acquired have either been previously accustomed to the rule of another prince, or else have been free states, and they are annexed either by force of arms of the prince himself, or of other, or else fall to him by good fortune or special ability. , he then further explains this topic in the next nine chapters. Another one of the major themes is War . Machiavelli explains how to use the methods of offense and defense in a war if a princes foundation is stable for four chapters. He writes the real truth of the matter than to its imagination , compared to other writers that have, have imagined republics and principalities which have never been seen or known to exist in reality . 5. Machiavelli says it is better for a prince to be both feared and loved, because men will love at free will and fear at the will of their prince, but a prince must rely solely on his power that he already has. It is possible for a prince to be both. A prince could show love by giving constant support for many of the citizens of his country, but should also be feared because he should give consequences to citizens who do not follow the rules of the country. 6. • 9. Minority Student Diversity Abstract Within the last decade or so, the number of minority students and first generation students enrolling, attending and graduating from colleges in the US has increased significantly despite the rising cost of enrollment. This increase is due to the available scholarships, funding opportunities, affirmative action or quota to be met by these institutions. The shift in the number of minority students graduating has also affected the diversity of people in the workplace. Although discrimination legally ended more than 40 years ago with the Civil Rights Movement, the ongoing battle of minority people in the United States trying to assimilate into a culture and justice system that does not work in their favor has continued although it is ... White students represent 75% of the students at the top 468 colleges in the country even though they are only 62% of the country s college age population (Fletcher, 2013). On the other hand 67% of black students and 75% of Latino students attend open access colleges. Black and Latino students make up 37% of students at open access schools but only 15% of students at the nation s top colleges while making up 33% of the country s college age population (Fletcher,2013). Although black and Latino students are attending college at higher rates, they are not given the tools necessary to graduate and succeed at the same rates as their white counterparts. 30% of black and Latino students with an A averages in high school end up in community colleges, as compared with 22% of white students (Fletcher, 2013). Anthony Carnevale explains this phenomena saying, The higher education system is colorblind in theory but in fact operates, at least in part, as a systematic barrier to opportunity for many blacks and Hispanics, many of whom are college qualified but tracked into overcrowded and under funded colleges, where they are less likely to develop fully or to graduate (Fletcher, 2013). Carnevale further explains that the issue is not particularly with the students but the system that does not support them. Michael Dannenberg, director of higher education and education finance policy at the Education Trust, noted What individual colleges do often can make all the difference in the world between a student graduating or leaving with a pile of debt and no degree. How Did The Indians Culture Affect The Lakota Culture The Lakota Indians had the sad and unfortunate luck of becoming personally acquainted with the westward thrust of American development when the Americans attitudes toward Indians had grown cynical and cruel. This interaction caused the Lakota culture to change a great deal during the nineteenth century. Horses and guns brought about a dramatic change in the Lakota s culture. They enabled them to seize and defend their rich hunting grounds, to follow the great migrating herds of buffalo that shaped their distinctive way of life, and by the middle of the nineteenth century to evolve into the proud and powerful monarchs of the northern Great Plains(R6). Ella Dying At Home Case Study In my research, I will discuss the benefits of Ella dying at home and the psychological affects staying in a hospital can have on her, particularly after the fact she has requested to be with her family during her last days. it will be appropriate for Ella to live out her last days in the comfort of her own home. Since Ella has come to terms that she has cancer and her physician has recommended Hospice, I would assume not treating the cancer is not a decision factor for treatment decisions. The law permits individuals to die in the comfort of their own home, even in the event the decision would cause physical harm or death for someone who is too sick such as Ella to receive treatment (Webmd.com). Since Ella is staying home, I would like to discuss the disadvantages of her decision. Staying at home could increase extend a burden on her husband and family members emotionally and physically and these factors can be overwhelming for the family, however I will include with the help of the Hospice team and proper organization and planning these disadvantages could resolved. Another disadvantage is not all physicians are willing to care for terminally ill individuals which this issue is easily resolvable by referring to a physician that care for Hospice patients. While completing my research, I found the advantages of Ella staying home by far outweigh the disadvantages. As I discussed earlier Ella will be in the comfort of her own home, in addition her family, extended family, friends and neighbors would be able to visit as Ella permits, dying in the home will enable Ella to maintain her quality of life, she will have control over her own decisions vs being at a hospital the physician or nurse has the final say based on what they recommend as well as diet schedules and no one wants to be controlled during their last days of living. Showing scenes of violence to women, demeaning them and depicting them as sex objects or subjects of submission to men is Misogyny. Present also is brutality against women descriptions. There have been voluminous scholars talking about it yet the argument is unquenched. Misogyny in hip hop society has its core deep in the American ethos, and it has its outcome on the same nation. Misogyny in songs is taking ring on young persons, and it is swiftly touching the young females in the black civilization. The effects of Misogyny in hip hop culture, losses weight with as the age of listener s advances. Misogyny in hip hop culture is not something that is ending, yet it may fade with time. How Does Marjane Satrapi Use Animation In Persepolis In the animation Persepolis, Marjane Satrapi uses color in the beginning of the animation during her present day life and black and white for flashbacks or her past life. The majority of the animation is the story of Marjane s life in the past so it is in mostly black and white. This is an interesting way of using color because in a way color is used as a form of timeline, there are parts of the animation that switch from present to past, so Satrapi just switches from black and white to color to show time period. • 17. Bi-Articular Strength Lab Report In order to test the passive sufficiency of a bi articular structure, such as a muscle, both joints which that structure crosses must first be identified. Additionally, the movements of those two joints which will constrain that structure must be identified. Next, one joint must be selected, and placed into the position that may constrain the structure. At the same time, the other joint must be placed in the position which will NOT put further strain on that structure. The selected joint must then be measured for its range of motion. Next, the same must be done with the selected joint, but in contrast, the other joint must be placed in the position which WILL further constrain the bi articular structure. Once that has been done, the selected joint s range of motion must be measured once more. If the range of motion of the selected joint is equal when the other joint is in both positions, the bi articular structure is passively sufficient. If the range of motion of the selected joint is smaller in the selected joint when the other joint is in a position that will put further strain on the bi articular structure, that structure is not passively sufficient. The rectus femoris crosses both the hip and knee. In order to test its passive sufficiency, either of the joints ranges of motion could be measured. In this example, range of motion will be measured at the hip. The rectus femoris will be most constrained when the knee is flexed and the hip is extended. For this test, the ... The main characters of video games tend to be white males and they do deserve representation but they are not the only ones who deserve it. Popular video games like Call of Duty, Watchdogs, and Assassin s Creed all have similar main characters throughout the series; tall, muscular, and powerful men. Though the video game industry has done a poor job of representing women, men are also subject to the pressure of video games and media. Halo and Mortal Kombat are long running video game series and the physical appearances of their characters has been studied through their history. Female characters have become more slender with larger breasts and wear less clothing. Male characters have become more muscular and aggressive. The interaction that I have with students is not only enjoyable to me, but it also gives me an invaluable perspective on the subjects I am teaching. In that instance, I would encourage the student to give further details and I would ask other students if they had other methods. Even though student engagement is easier to accomplish in smaller classrooms, it is even more important in larger classrooms where students voices drown in the hollow of the lecture hall. Ensuring that at least a portion of the students is engaged will encourage certain students to ask questions which are likely to be on the mind of other, more reserved, students. In my opinion, learning in a class should simulate scientific research as much as possible. When a researcher in mathematics studies a new subject, she starts with an observation, makes a conjecture, verifies the conjecture with experiments and finally, formulates a generalisation with a proof. This process enforces a context which the researcher keep referring to, namely the original example. The result is a deeper understanding of the concepts and the ability to predict the future ones. As a teacher, I try to simulate a faster version of this research process. I try to start from simple examples that demonstrate some aspect of the topic. I then try to make the ... WHAT INFLUENCE DOES THE BANK OF ENGLAND HAVE OVER THE TERM STRUCTURE AND WHY IS IT IMPORTANT FOR MONETARY POLICY To understand the term structure of interest rate we need to elaborate how interest rates function and how they are determined. Interest rates are a vital tool to all the macro economic policy objectives of a government such as control of inflation, investment as well as employment. Interest rates refer to the price paid by deficit agents for borrowing funds from the surplus agents. A line that plots interest rate at a set point in time is the term structure or yield curve. The market is anticipating a fall in rates and hence the shape of the yield curves. The sensitivity of such a curve can be explained taking into account that the change in the rates reflected is small, 0.24% over the duration of the security, 30 years. This is quite relevant when speculating on future economic conditions. (www.bankofengland.co.uk) There are three main theories which relate to yield curves. The pure expectations theory implies that forward rates are unbiased estimators of future interest rates. This theory states that the term structure of interest rates reflects the views of the market about the path of future short term interest rates. Thus when explaining a positive yield curve, the market will be expecting short term interest rates to rise in the future. The opposite applies when the curve is negative and when flat the markets expect short term interest rates to remain approximately the same. This theory generally over estimate interest rates and does not assume that investors are risk averse and want a higher return when investing. The liquidity preference theory states that bond holders are risk averse and wish to be compensated for holding the long term security by a liquidity premium. The normal yield curve to explain this should be up sloping indicating preference for liquidity by investors and lower risk of shorter term ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

How Does Beetle Mass Affect The Beetle s Pulling Power Mackenzie Madden, T.J Manning,September 2nd, 2015 Danny Minogue, Lindsay Newton The Effect of Beetle Mass on the Beetle s Pulling Power Introduction Does beetle mass effect the pulling power? This theory has been tested by conducting an experiment with a bess beetle and some paperclips. Pulling power was calculated by dividing the mass the beetle pulled by the mass of the individual beetle. The data that was collected was processed into a graph that shows how mass affects the pulling power of these beetles. Bess beetles are very interesting creatures with a lot of variety. The Bess beetle population makes up 0.14% of all beetles so it was definitely hard to pick just the right one to test. As we know this is not what happens. Due to, what I believe to be, Victor s God Complex he takes it upon himself to create an entirely new species (Shelley, 44) and in doing so maximises the harms and risks to his human and animal communities, as he is unaware of the nature of his creation or what dangerous power it could possess. Not only this but by creating his monster he makes it vulnerable to the world it is born into as it was made as a solitary creature, with no special precautions taken to protect it. • 35. Analysis Of The Story Eveline By James Joyce Eveline The story begins with a silver lining in a memory that deepens into a pit of depression The narrator helps to describe her memories as Eveline, staring blankly out a window, wallows in her conflicting feelings of adoration and isolation. Today in many places, what takes place in Dublin during 1914 as common place family dynamics, can be recognized as a cyclical pattern of abuse between a controlling and manipulative father, his demure and defenseless wife, and their helpless and hopeful children. In the story Eveline written by James Joyce the main character is suffering from symptoms of vicarious trauma and abuse, and although she recognizes, and fantasizes about the option and possibility of a better life, ultimately she finds herself a victim of circumstance, frozen in time, unable to make a decision, she is forced to watch her opportunity fade from her grasp. Eveline exhibits the qualities of a young woman who has spent her life exposed to traumatic, systematic abuse. As she looks out over the field of her childhood, reaching into the past to pull forward the memories of friends and happiness, a foul taste creeps in to her mind of Her father [who] used often to hunt them in out of the field with his blackthorn stick; (Joyce) and the author gives the first indicator that Eveline s life has been little more than tragic. Composite materials comprise significantly greater percentages of airframe structural materials used throughout the aerospace manufacturing process. This increased usage has led many individuals within the Air Force (AF) community and Department of Defense (DoD) leaders to restudy the life cycle cost (LCC) models used to estimate the costs for most weapon systems. A series of composite affordability initiatives (CAI) have culminated in significant evidence over the last three decades which aids in better quantifying the impact of primarily advanced composite materials in the airframe structures of aircraft. Current accelerated use of advanced composite materials in aircraft, sporting goods, and medical products is a result of the versatility of composites. This paper finds that a significant relationship exists between the reduction of the part counts and the large scale advanced composite materials used in life cycle cost (LCC) models for aircraft structures. The reduction percentages in the part counts led to reductions in the percentages of touch labor hours in design, design support, testing, tooling, manufacturing, and quality assurance.
