Comparative Study and Analysis between Helical Coil and Straight Tube Heat Ex...IJERA Editor
The purpose of this study is to determine the relative advantage of using a helically coiled heat exchanger against a straight tube heat exchanger. It is found that the heat transfer in helical circular tubes is higher as compared to Straight tube due to their shape. Helical coils offer advantageous over straight tubes due to their compactness and increased heat transfer coefficient. The increased heat transfer coefficients are a consequence of the curvature of the coil, which induces centrifugal forces to act on the moving fluid, resulting in the development of secondary flow. The curvature of the coil governs the centrifugal force while the pitch (or helix angle) influences the torsion to which the fluid is subjected to the centrifugal force results in the development of secondary flow. Due to the curvature effect, the fluid streams in the outer side of the pipe moves faster than the fluid streams in the inner side of the pipe. In current work the fluid to fluid heat exchange is taken into consideration. Most of the investigations on heat transfer coefficients are for constant wall temperature or constant heat flux. The effectiveness, overall heat transfer coefficient, effect of cold water flow rate on effectiveness of heat exchanger when hot water mass flow rate is kept constant and effect of hot water flow rate on effectiveness when cold water flow rate kept constant studied and compared for parallel flow, counter flow arrangement of Helical coil and Straight tube heat exchangers. All readings were taken at steady state condition of heat exchanger. The result shows that the heat transfer coefficient is affected by the geometry of the heat exchanger. Helical coil heat exchanger are superior in all aspect studied here.
An experimental investigation of annular fins under forced convectioneSAT Journals
Abstract
Heat transfer characteristics under forced convection are investigated experimentally by varying parameters like surface area,
base-to-ambient temperature difference and Reynolds number. To investigate the performance of fins experimentally, fins made of
aluminium (high thermal conductivity) are taken. For varying the surface area fin with 11 mm diameter without circumferential
fins, fin with 31 mm diameter and annular fins of 31 mm diameter are taken as specimens. Base to ambient temperature difference
is varied with the aid of dimmerstat ranging from 25W to 45W. Reynolds number is also varied by varying the velocities of air.
Velocities are varied by the aid of fan. Then these fins are tested under different load conditions, different Reynolds number by
varying the surface area of fins increase the rate of heat transfer. With the variation of relevant parameters under forced
convection heat transfer rates are analyzed experimentally. Experiments are conducted by using the annular fins, fin with
diameter 11mm without circumferential fins and fin with diameter 31mm at different Reynolds number and loads under forced
convection and comparison is made between fins. Experimental results shows that forced convection heat transfer rate from fins
depend on surface areas, base ambient temperature difference and Reynolds number. The base temperature for annular fins is
reduced by 30% when compared to fin with diameter 11mm due to increase in surface area about 40%. The base temperature for
annular fins is reduced by 10% when compared to fin with diameter of 31mm due to decrease in surface area about 41%. It is
also observed that at higher heat load i.e., 45W, the overall fin efficiency of annular fins is increased by 44% and 8% compared to
fin with diameter of 11mm and 31mm respectively. At higher Reynolds number range 800-2000, heat transfer rate increases in
annular fins due to more number of air molecules get in contact with the heated surface

An overview of stack design for a thermoacoustic refrigeratoreSAT Journals
Abstract A thermoacoustic refrigerator utilizes the thermal interactions of the sound waves with the medium while they travel to produce refrigeration. Sound energy propagates in longitudinal fashion through the medium, thus resulting in compressions and rarefactions in the medium and hence heating and cooling the medium subsequently. The stack acts as a medium to transfer the heat from one point in the system to another. The stack is thus the heart of any thermoacoustic refrigeration system. This paper provides a brief overview of the construction and working of the thermoacoustic refrigerator and focusses on the stack of a thermoacoustic refrigeration system. The desired thermal properties of the stack material like the thermal conductivity and specific heat have been discussed. An optimum spacing obtained from previous works based on the thermal and viscous penetration depths has been briefly discussed. Various stack geometries like the parallel plate type, the spiral type, pin type and porous stacks made of reticulated vitreous carbon have been elaborated. Keywords: Thermoacoustic refrigerator, Stack, Thermal penetration depth, Stack geometry, Stack spacing.

Abstract: Heat pipe are high-efficient heat transfer devices and have been widely applied in various thermal systems. Since heat pipe utilize the phase change of the working fluid to transport the heat, the selection of working fluid is of essential importance to promote the thermal performance of heat pipe. Owing to the heat transfer enhancement effect of nanofluid in the single phase and phase change heat transfer, some researchers have applied various nanofluids in heat pipe as the working fluids to enhance their heat transfer performance.

Heat Transfer Enhancement of Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger Using Conical Tapes.IJERA Editor
This paper provides heat transfer and friction factor data for single -phase flow in a shell and tube heat exchanger fitted with a helical tape insert. In the double concentric tube heat exchanger, hot air was passed through the inner tube while the cold water was flowed through the annulus. The influences of the helical insert on heat transfer rate and friction factor were studied for counter flow, and Nusselt numbers and friction factor obtained were compared with previous data (Dittus 1930, Petukhov 1970, Moody 1944) for axial flows in the plain tube. The flow considered is in a low Reynolds number range between 2300 and 8800. A maximum percentage gain of 165% in heat transfer rate is obtained for using the helical insert in comparison with the plain tube.

Analysis of Natural Convention Heat Transfer Enhancement in Finned Tube Heat ...journal ijrtem
ABSTRACT: Most of the engineering problems require high performance heat transfer components with progressively less weight, volumes, accommodating shapes and costs. Air cooled heat exchangers are subjected to air on outer side of heat exchanger surface on in heat recovery systems like economizers gases are subjected on one side of tube surface. On air or gas side heat transfer coefficient is less. Extended surface (fins) are one of the next exchanging devices that are employed extensively to increase heat transfer rates from tubular heat exchangers. The rate of heat transfer depends on the surface area of fin available for exchanging the heat transfer rate from the primary surface of cylindrical shape. Present study focuses on enhancement of heat transfer by using both circular and elliptical type of fins. The present paper attempts to examine trend of heat transfer coefficient experimentally and by using CFD software for various types of elliptical fins with i) varying elliptical ratio, ii) changing orientation of mounting of heat exchanger tube with elliptical fins, iii) varying spacing or fin density. NATURAL CONVECTION HEAT TRANSFER IN INCLINED OPEN ANNULUS PASSEGE HEATED FROM...IAEME Publication
Natural convection is investigated experimentally in an open cylindrical annulus heated with both annulus inner and outer sides under same constant heat flux condition to study the effect of angle of inclination and heat flux on heat transfer. Heat transfer results are given for inclination angles of 0o
(horizontal), 30o , 60o and 90o (vertical) using annulus diameter ratio of 1.8, inner and outer tube length 50 cm and heat flux from 70 W/m2 to 600W/m2 . The results show that the local and average Nusselt number increase as the heat flux increase and when angle of inclination changed from 0o
(horizontal) to 90o (vertical). An empirical correlations of average Nusselt number as a function of Rayleigh number were deduced.
Heat transfer enhancement and friction factor analysis in tube using conical ...eSAT Journals
Abstract Role of the conical spring array for the heat transfer enhancement and pressure drop change in a pipe with constant heat flux boundary condition was investigated. Three different arrangements of conical spring array inserts were used in the experimental setup. Conical spring inserts with diverging conical spring, converging-diverging conical spring and converging conical spring array inserts arrangements were used. Water was used as a working fluid in the experimental setup. It was found that use of conical spring array inserts arrangement leads to enhancement in heat transfer. Higher heat transfer rate was achieved in the divergent spring array arrangement than the converging-diverging and converging arrangement. However, maximum friction factor is achieved in the diverging spring array insert arrangement. By increasing the Reynolds Number for different turbulator arrangement, the significant increase in Nusselt number was obtained. The enhancement in Nusselt Number for the diverging, converging-diverging, converging conical spring array arrangement was 645% ,431% and 259% respectively. The heat transfer enhancement efficiency can be evaluated based on the power consumption per unit mass of fluid. Heat transfer enhancement efficiencies were found for the divergent spring array arrangement up to 277% and for the convergent-divergent spring arrangement up to 212% and for the convergent spring array arrangement up to 153%. An Experimental Research on Heat Transfer Enhancement of a Circular Tube with...IRJESJOURNAL
ABSTRACT:- In the literature, internal tube baffles are widely studied. There is a lack of data for baffles mounted on outside of the tubes. This study aims to fill this gap. Therefore, the effect of baffle inclination angles on heat transfer improvement has been studied experimentally. The experiments were carried out for forced convection of air on a circular tube with inclined baffles. Air has been used as the cold fluid. Experimental results for eight different velocities of air flow (2 – 20 m/s) are presented. Pitch between baffles is 12 mm.The baffle inclination angles with respect to the tube axis were 45º, 60º and 80º. Water temperature is fixed as 65 °C. According to the experimental results, the baffles with an inclination angle of 45º enhance the heat transfer over 60º and 80º around 13.7 % and 10.5 %, respectively. However, pressure drop values for 45º and 60º are 18 % higher than pressure drop values for 80º. The empirical correlations of the Nusselt number have also been obtained for each angle.

BROAD UNEXPOSED SKILLS OF TRANSGENDER ENTREPRENEURSIAEME Publication
Since ages gender difference is always a debatable theme whether caused by nature, evolution or environment. The birth of a transgender is dreadful not only for the child but also for their parents. The pain of living in the wrong physique and treated as second class victimized citizen is outrageous and fully harboured with vicious baseless negative scruples. For so long, social exclusion had perpetuated inequality and deprivation experiencing ingrained malign stigma and besieged victims of crime or violence across their life spans. They are pushed into the murky way of life with a source of eternal disgust, bereft sexual potency and perennial fear. Although they are highly visible but very little is known about them. The common public needs to comprehend the ravaged arrogance on these insensitive souls and assist in integrating them into the mainstream by offering equal opportunity, treat with humanity and respect their dignity. Entrepreneurship in the current age is endorsing the gender fairness movement. Unstable careers and economic inadequacy had inclined one of the gender variant people called Transgender to become entrepreneurs. These tiny budding entrepreneurs resulted in economic transition by means of employment, free from the clutches of stereotype jobs, raised standard of living and handful of financial empowerment. Besides all these inhibitions, they were able to witness a platform for skill set development that ignited them to enter into entrepreneurial domain. This paper epitomizes skill sets involved in trans-entrepreneurs of Thoothukudi Municipal Corporation of Tamil Nadu State and is a groundbreaking determination to sightsee various skills incorporated and the impact on entrepreneurship.

Living in 21st century in itself reminds all of us the necessity of police and its administration. As more and more we are entering into the modern society and culture, the more we require the services of the so called ‘Khaki Worthy’ men i.e., the police personnel. Whether we talk of Indian police or the other nation’s police, they all have the same recognition as they have in India. But as already mentioned, their services and requirements are different after the like 26th November, 2008 incidents, where they without saving their own lives has sacrificed themselves without any hitch and without caring about their respective family members and wards. In other words, they are like our heroes and mentors who can guide us from the darkness of fear, militancy, corruption and other dark sides of life and so on. Now the question arises, if Gandhi would have been alive today, what would have been his reaction/opinion to the police and its functioning? Would he have some thing different in his mind now what he had been in his mind before the partition or would he be going to start some Satyagraha in the form of some improvement in the functioning of the police administration? Really these questions or rather night mares can come to any one’s mind, when there is too much confusion is prevailing in our minds, when there is too much corruption in the society and when the polices working is also in the questioning because of one or the other case throughout the India. It is matter of great concern that we have to thing over our administration and our practical approach because the police personals are also like us, they are part and parcel of our society and among one of us, so why we all are pin pointing towards them.

ROLE OF SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN RURAL DEVELOPMENT OF INDIA - PROBLEMS AND ...IAEME Publication
The majority of the population in India lives in villages. The village is the back bone of the country. Village or rural industries play an important role in the national economy, particularly in the rural development. Developing the rural economy is one of the key indicators towards a country’s success. Whether it be the need to look after the welfare of the farmers or invest in rural infrastructure, Governments have to ensure that rural development isn’t compromised. The economic development of our country largely depends on the progress of rural areas and the standard of living of rural masses. Village or rural industries play an important role in the national economy, particularly in the rural development. Rural entrepreneurship is based on stimulating local entrepreneurial talent and the subsequent growth of indigenous enterprises. It recognizes opportunity in the rural areas and accelerates a unique blend of resources either inside or outside of agriculture. Rural entrepreneurship brings an economic value to the rural sector by creating new methods of production, new markets, new products and generate employment opportunities thereby ensuring continuous rural development. Social Entrepreneurship has the direct and primary objective of serving the society along with the earning profits. So, social entrepreneurship is different from the economic entrepreneurship as its basic objective is not to earn profits but for providing innovative solutions to meet the society needs which are not taken care by majority of the entrepreneurs as they are in the business for profit making as a sole objective. So, the Social Entrepreneurs have the huge growth potential particularly in the developing countries like India where we have huge societal disparities in terms of the financial positions of the population. Still 22 percent of the Indian population is below the poverty line and also there is disparity among the rural & urban population in terms of families living under BPL. 25.7 percent of the rural population & 13.7 percent of the urban population is under BPL which clearly shows the disparity of the poor people in the rural and urban areas. The need to develop social entrepreneurship in agriculture is dictated by a large number of social problems. Such problems include low living standards, unemployment, and social tension. The reasons that led to the emergence of the practice of social entrepreneurship are the above factors. The research problem lays upon disclosing the importance of role of social entrepreneurship in rural development of India. The paper the tendencies of social entrepreneurship in India, to present successful examples of such business for providing recommendations how to improve situation in rural areas in terms of social entrepreneurship development. Indian government has made some steps towards development of social enterprises, social entrepreneurship, and social in- novation, but a lot remains to be improved.
OPTIMAL RECONFIGURATION OF POWER DISTRIBUTION RADIAL NETWORK USING HYBRID MET...IAEME Publication
Distribution system is a critical link between the electric power distributor and the consumers. Most of the distribution networks commonly used by the electric utility is the radial distribution network. Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.
