"Medical Doctors are Poor Managers". This presentation has tried to do brainstorming for them how to operate as better Health Managers. Leaders lead from the Front. Managers control from the Behind. A Doctor in a facility needs to play the role of both Leader as well as Manager.
EMR (Electronic Medical Record) is computerized legal medical record created in an organization that delivers care such as Hospital or doctor’s clinic. EMR will provide to improve the quality of life by reducing costs. The use of the system will help to centralize the medical information.
Overview of Java RMI remoting.
RMI is a lightweight Java technology that provides access to remote methods, similar to RPC, but object-oriented. RMI basically provides remote object access for a client and object registration for servers.
RMI is both a Java API (java.rmi.* package) as well as a transport protocol definition for transporting RMI calls through a network.
RMI is a Java technology since it requires that client and server objects run in a JVM (Java Virtual Machine). By using IIOP as transport protocol, however, it is possible to connect RMI-clients to non-Java server objects (e.g. CORBA).
RMI defines the elements client, server, RMI registry where servers register their services and possibly a plain vanilla web server that can be used by clients to dynamically load object classes to access servers.
The Network File System (NFS) is the most widely used network-based file system. NFS’s initial simple design and Sun Microsystems’ willingness to publicize the protocol and code samples to the community contributed to making NFS the most successful remote access file system. NFS implementations are available for numerous Unix systems, several Windows-based systems, and others.

The purpose of the project entitled as “Hospital Management System” is to computerize the
Front Office Management of Hospital to develop software which is user friendly simple, fast,
and cost – effective. It deals with the collection of patient’s information like add patient, update
patient, delete patient, search patient, view patient diagnosis, etc. Traditionally, it was done
manually. The main function of the system is register and store patient details and doctor details
and retrieve these details as and when required, and also to manipulate these details
meaningfully. The Hospital Management System can be entered using a username and
password. It is accessible by an Admin, Doctor & Receptionist. Only they can add data into
the database. The data can be retrieved easily. The data are well protected for personal use and
makes the data processing very fast.

Case Study—Memorial Health System CPOE Implementation
Memorial Health System is an eight-hospital integrated health care system in the Midwestern United States. The health system has two downtown flagship tertiary care hospitals, each licensed for more than 700 beds, located in the two major metropolitan areas served by the system. The remaining six hospitals are community-based facilities, ranging in size from 200 to 400 beds. These hospitals are located in the suburban and rural areas served by Memorial Health System.
Four years ago, the system’s board of directors approved a multi-million-dollar initiative to install an enterprise-wide clinician provider order entry (CPOE) system intended to dramatically reduce medical errors. Today, the system is far from fully implemented, and, in fact, has been removed from all but one of the two tertiary care facilities, where it remains in pilot adopter status.
At the time, the board approved the CPOE initiative, the project was championed by Fred Dryer, the CEO, and was closely supported by Joe Roberts, the chief information officer (CIO) of the health system. Even during its proposal and evaluation by the board, the project was considered controversial by some of the health system’s stakeholders. For example, many of its physicians, who are community-based independent providers, were adamantly opposed to the CPOE system. They worried that their workload would increase because CPOE systems replace verbal orders with computer-entered orders by doctors. Dr. Mark Allen, a primary care physician commented, “The hospital is trying to turn me into a 12-dollar-an-hour secretary, and they aren’t even paying me 12 dollars an hour.”
In securing board approval, Dryer and Roberts presented an aggressive implementation plan that called for the requirements analysis, Request for Proposal (RFP), vendor selection, and project implementation to be completed in less than 18 months in all eight hospitals. During the discussion with the board, several of the members questioned the timeline. One noted, “It took you 2 years to set up e-mail, and everyone wanted e-mail. This will affect every clinician in every hospital. Do you really think you can do this in 18 months?”
In an effort to demonstrate results, Dryer and Roberts demanded results from the clinical and IT team formed for the project. By this time, a rushed requirements analysis had been completed, an RFP issued, a vendor selected, and a contract signed. The acquisition process took a little more than 6 months, leaving a year for the implementation.
In protest, a number of prominent physicians took their referral business to the other health system in the area that seized upon the controversy by promising that they would not use a CPOE. Shortly thereafter, the two leading champions for CPOE—Dryer and Roberts—left Memorial. The chief medical officer, Barbar ...

centralized database contains the in-patient record. It was
implemented using PHP & MYSQL combination. The
database record contains the patient personal info, department
lies-in, physician, tours, ,treatment and lab results. Since the
patient enters the hospital the workflow starts as the reception
user creates new record by entering the personal info and
sends the record to assigned department; at this stage the nurse
starts update the record by entering the physician comments,
required treatment, and sends lab test when it is required. The
procedure continues as long as the patient still in the hospital.
At last when the patient recovered or died the International
Classsification of Diseases(ICD) inserted to the record and out
or died date. In addition there are many supported tables that
can be updated manually through independent pages by IT
administrator. These tables like Physician names, medicines,
lab tests, users and ICDs. As the system consists of different
users and different user permissions. Also there are advance
search that can help to make statistical reports and researches
for the physicians. The system is considered time and cost
effective to healthcare.
CONCEPTUAL MODEL FOR ELECTRONIC CLINICAL RECORD INFORMATION SYSTEMijistjournal
This study is drawn from an ongoing, large-scale project of implementing Electronic Clinical Record (ECR). The overall aim in this study is to develop a deeper understanding of the socio-technical aspects of the complexities and challenges emerging from the implementation of the ECR, and in particular to study how to manage a gradual transition to digital record. We have proposed ECR conceptual model. The end result of our research was a collection of ideas / surveys, and field work that clinical institutions and medical informatics must consider to ensure that patients and clinics do not lose long-term access to ECR and technology continually progress. Results of our study identified the need for more research in this particular area as no definitive solution to long-term access to electronic clinical records was revealed. Additionally, the research findings highlighted the fact that a few medical institutions may actually be concerned about long-term access to electronic records.

Harnessing WebAssembly for Real-time Stateless Streaming PipelinesChristina Lin
Traditionally, dealing with real-time data pipelines has involved significant overhead, even for straightforward tasks like data transformation or masking. However, in this talk, we’ll venture into the dynamic realm of WebAssembly (WASM) and discover how it can revolutionize the creation of stateless streaming pipelines within a Kafka (Redpanda) broker. These pipelines are adept at managing low-latency, high-data-volume scenarios.

The proper function of the integrated circuit (IC) in an inhibiting electromagnetic environment has always been a serious concern throughout the decades of revolution in the world of electronics, from disjunct devices to today’s integrated circuit technology, where billions of transistors are combined on a single chip. The automotive industry and smart vehicles in particular, are confronting design issues such as being prone to electromagnetic interference (EMI). Electronic control devices calculate incorrect outputs because of EMI and sensors give misleading values which can prove fatal in case of automotives. In this paper, the authors have non exhaustively tried to review research work concerned with the investigation of EMI in ICs and prediction of this EMI using various modelling methodologies and measurement setups.

Heap sort is a comparison-based sorting technique based on Binary Heap data structure. It is similar to the selection sort where we first find the minimum element and place the minimum element at the beginning. Repeat the same process for the remaining elements.
NUMERICAL SIMULATIONS OF HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER IN CONDENSING HEAT EXCHANGERS...ssuser7dcef0
Power plants release a large amount of water vapor into the
atmosphere through the stack. The flue gas can be a potential
source for obtaining much needed cooling water for a power
plant. If a power plant could recover and reuse a portion of this
moisture, it could reduce its total cooling water intake
requirement. One of the most practical way to recover water
from flue gas is to use a condensing heat exchanger. The power
plant could also recover latent heat due to condensation as well
as sensible heat due to lowering the flue gas exit temperature.
Additionally, harmful acids released from the stack can be
reduced in a condensing heat exchanger by acid condensation. reduced in a condensing heat exchanger by acid condensation.
Condensation of vapors in flue gas is a complicated
phenomenon since heat and mass transfer of water vapor and
various acids simultaneously occur in the presence of noncondensable
gases such as nitrogen and oxygen. Design of a
condenser depends on the knowledge and understanding of the
heat and mass transfer processes. A computer program for
numerical simulations of water (H2O) and sulfuric acid (H2SO4)
condensation in a flue gas condensing heat exchanger was
developed using MATLAB. Governing equations based on
mass and energy balances for the system were derived to
predict variables such as flue gas exit temperature, cooling
water outlet temperature, mole fraction and condensation rates
of water and sulfuric acid vapors. The equations were solved
using an iterative solution technique with calculations of heat
and mass transfer coefficients and physical properties.
