she not only plays those roles at her best , but she has proved that
she has power to change, power to be recognized even in crowd.
Their are many women who had made us feel proud, this is just
to feel the power of a girl by memorizing some of them.
MY GREETINGS TO ALL WOMEN….
As the world celebrates ‘International
Women’s Day’ on 8th March, I
express my gratitude to all
women….grand-mothers, mothers,
sisters, daughters, wives, friends,
peers, professionals…to all known
and unknown women
Who worked for
peace and
harmony and
devoted herself to
working among
the poorest of the
poor in the slums
of calcutta
KADAMBINI GANGULI & CHANDRAMUKHI BASU
First two female graduates of British empire. They
received their bachelor’s degree in arts from University of
calcutta, India in 1883.
She became active
in Indian
Nationalist
Movement and was
imprisoned three
times by British
authorities in
India……..She was
the first women and
Indian president of
UN General
assembly

ceiling was broken
in the Indian Army
with a mother of
two becoming the
first woman jawan.
Outperforming her
male counterparts
in the physical tests,
35-year-old Sapper
ShantiTigga
joined the 969
Railway Engineer
Regiment
of Territorial
Army in October
2011.
This bold Indian BACHENDRI PAL from the North-East braved the onslaught of
an injury to become famous as the first Indian woman who successfully surmounted
the highest mountain peak Mt Everest in 1984. She was also the fifth woman of the
world to have achieved this remarkable feat.
In 2007,
Pratibha Patil
became the
country’s first
woman
President. Prior
to this she was
also the first
woman
governor of
Rajasthan from
2004-2007.
What is
noteworthy is
that she has
never lost an

killed the 41 year old astronaut
The first woman judge

accomplishment lay in
the fact that she
facilitated the entry of
other women in the
apex court.
In 1994, for the first
time, an Indian

replied, “The origin of
a child was a woman..
a woman teaches a
man what caring….is

1. International Women’s Day A gift for the women in my life
2. Here’s to the Woman ...who knows where she's going and
will keep on until she gets there; who knows not only what she
wants from life but what she has to offer in return...
3. Here’s to the Woman who is loyal to family and friends, who
expects no more from others than she is willing to give;
4. Here’s to the Woman who guides and inspires not by quoting
others philosophies but by living her own good example; who
accepts both victories and disappointments with the same
grace, and who can rise above life's challenges and move
on...
5. Here’s to the Woman who gives the gifts of her
thoughtfulness, who shows her caring with a word of support,
her understanding with a smile; a woman who brings joy to
others just by being herself..
6. Here’s to the Woman …a Mother, a Sister, a Daughter, a
Wife, a friend……..
7. A Big Thank you to all the women in my life – I wouldn't be
me without you all
