Empowerment refers to increasing the spiritual, political, social, or economic strength of individuals and communities. It involves developing confidence in one's own capacities. Women empowerment is the process by which women challenge gender-based discrimination and gain control over their own lives. The values of an empowered woman include improving personal knowledge, self-defining power, personal power, authenticity, creativity, physical strength, equality, mutuality in relationships, economic independence, women identification, freedom from oppression, and having political power in society.
