 William “Bill” Ryerson maintains an active involvement
in initiatives for social issues such as population
stabilization and reproductive rights. CEO of the
nonprofit Population Institute, Bill Ryerson leads the
organization in operating programs that support
reproductive rights such as Halt the Assault.
Halt the Assault focuses on combating the opposition
to women’s right to access contraceptives and fosters
awareness for the spread of accurate information
regarding contraceptives and reproductive health. It
calls for a united front by men and women, and
advocates for the continued operation and funding of
family planning clinics across the country.
Furthermore, it serves to oppose laws that restrict
access to contraceptives and family planning clinics.

3. Halt the Assault
 The program also encourages members of the public
to take a pledge to speak out against efforts that
restrict access to family planning clinics and
reproductive health services.
An international nonprofit organization based in
Washington DC, the Population Institute has
continued to promote access to family planning
education, information and services since its founding
in 1969. Its vision involves achieving full gender
equality and forming a world with balance between
the global population and the global environment.
