Abstract:
Shashi Deshpande is a famous Indian novelist who has won many awards for her magnificent writings. She is one of the most notable authors in Indian writing in English. Her famous novels are -The Dark Holds No Terrors (1980), if I Die Today (1982), Roots and Shadows (1983), Come Up and Be Dead (1983), That Long Silence (1988), The Binding Vine (1992), and A Matter of Time (1996). Her novel “Roots and Shadows” has won a prize for the best Indian novel of 1982-83. She is the recipient of the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1990 for her novel That Long Silence. She has also won ‘Padma Shri’ (2009) for the novel ‘That Long Silence’. Her leading ladies are married women and they are the true reflection of Indian women. Seeking for identity and self-liberation have become the most important themes of the contemporary novel. ‘That Long Silence’ (1988) is an expression of the Agony of housewives. The Story revolves around ‘Jaya’ an educated young woman lives with her husband Mohan and two children Rahul and Rati. Jaya is a sufferer of gender differentiation and patriarchy. After wedding she becomes speechless in order to be a good cultural wife. The novel questions the tradition-bound Indian society that treats women unkindly. My aim is to highlight how women are divided between traditional values of the society and her individuality. The essay analyses how the patriarchal domination and gender differentiation exist within the family.

Chetan Bhagat’s The Girl in Room 105: Critically Appreciate Kaushal Desai
Like any other book, “The Girl in Room 105” title also contains a number likes ‘2 States’, ‘Five Points Someone’, ‘Revolution 2020’ etc. Having a number in the title has become the trademarked style for Bhagat. The book also has a lot of comedies for laugh and witty one-liners that you will enjoy.
However, something is different in the book. The book cover is not cartoonish like Bhagat’s other books. There is a photo of a real girl in the cover. The first impression from the cover is clear. This is also a romance book but with elements of mystery and tragic. There is no happy ending in the book this time.

Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

@ the Call Center is a novel written by Chetan Bhagat and first
published in 2005.
The novel revolves around a group of six call center employees
working at the Connexons call center in Gurgaon, Haryana, India.
The book was the second best-selling novel from the award. Chetan
said that his ex- boss gave him inspiration and thanked him in this
book. “I chose to tell the story through Shyam ’s eyes. This is
because, after I met him, I found him the most similar to me as a
person. "Chetan ends the book by saying that the person who told
the story to him was GOD.
7. The book begins with a frame story/ prologue which recounts a train journey from Kanpur to
Delhi. The narrating author meets a beautiful girl. She offered to tell the author a story on the
condition that he has to make it his second book. The story was about six people working in a call
center. One night they got a phone-call from God within the story, which comprises the bulk of
the book, relates the events that happen one night at a call Centre.
Story told through the eyes of the protagonist, Shyam, it is a story of almost lost love, thwarted
ambitions, absence of family affection and pressures of a patriarchal set up. Shyam loves but has
lost Priyanka, who is now planning an arranged marriage with another; Vroom loves Esha. Esha

network at that place, but Shyam's mobile phone starts ringing.
The phone call is from God, who speaks modern English. The
conversation with God motivates the group to such an extent that they get
ready to face their problems with utmost determination and motivation.
When they emerge from danger, they have clear-cut goals in their mind.
On returning to the call center, they carry out their plans with dexterity. A

The youth of today has been commonly outclassed; we do not consider
themselves to be too young to be pampered, and we are not supposed
to be old enough to take duty on their own shoulders. Emotion is
responsible for many types of disease. Negative emotions like stress,
tension, anger, fear, greed, jealousy give rise to somatic illness where on
the other hand positive emotions like love, compassion, friendship,
affection etc. give the strength to combat the stress. Illness due to
negative emotions includes hyper acidity, hypertension, insomnia,
menstrual disturbances, loss of appetite etc.
