1)Phone Call From God
╺ In the novel each characters endure from
their personal problems and when they are in
difficult situation they get phone call from God.
╺ They are unable to phone call for as there
is no mobile phone network at that place.
╺ God talks with everyone and listen their problems
and gives them suggestions and to improve in their life.
╺ The conversation with God motivates the characters
to such an extent that they get ready to face their
problems with ulmost determination and motivation.

2) Nationalism
╺ One night @ the call center is also about Nationalism.
╺ The character of Vroom is Anti-American. In the novel Vroom insulted by Americans.
╺ When Vroom talks to God, Vroom says, “That I should not have taken up a job just for money.
Call centers pay more, but only because the exchange rate is in the favor of Americans. They
toss their loose change at us. It seems like a lot in rupees. But jobs that pay less could be
better. There could be jobs that define me, make learn of help my country.
╺ They invented new things but many of are not able to know how to use that things. they need
the help of Indians.
╺ In India this all inventions are not coming in use though they able to guide Americans.
╺ So from that Vroom says that thirty five year old American IQ is same as ten year old child in
India.

3) Deux ex machina :
╺ Deus ex Machina means “God from Machine”.
╺ This novel all it brings a happy ending or a comic device for audience.
╺ Deus ex machina is used in this novel by Chetan Bhagat when all characters met
an accident and no any source are there to save their lives.
╺ Help to character.
╺ That they all restart their lives from God’s advice of living life happily and they
all tried a lot of solve their problems from their lives. So that happy ending is
here from God.
╺ “Deux ex machina is calque from Greek meaning God from the machina”

4) Globalization :
╺ “Globalization is a process of interaction and integration among the people,
companies, and governments of different nations, a process driven by
international trade and investment and aided by information technology”
╺ In the twenty first century, one cannot think of
any branch of knowledge without making a
referenced language, literature social sciences,
service sectors and whatnot.
- “Globalization is no longer a theoretical concept;
it is a glaring reality, impinging upon almost every
aspect of human existence.”

╺ The title of the novel it self tells about the effect of Globalization in call center.
╺ Writer wants to give message to the Indians that who working in call center they
just get salary but it not give it a opportunity to do something else or for their skills
and creativity.
╺ Globalization effects culture, communication, politics and literature.
╺ In ON@TCC the number of man and women working in call center is equal. Women
work even in night shifts.
╺ Bhagat very comfortably depicts women empowerment as one of the positive
effects of globalization.

5) Marriage and Love :
╺ In the novel One Night @ the Call Center Bhagat talks about the love story of
Shyam and Priyanka.
╺ They both are not just friends but they have physical relationship with each
other. But Priyanka’s mother decided to marry Ganesh.
╺ Here Esha wants to become a model but another side Vroom loves her a lot
but can’t describe only because of her dream of modeling and desires.
╺ Radhika is a married girl, she also loves her husband too much but her husband
one girl friend named Payal.
╺ Military Uncle loves his grandson very much but his son ignored him.

6) Modernization :
╺ One Night @ the Call Center deals with issues of young people, including questions
about career, inadequacy, marriage, family conflicts in a changing India, and the
relationship of the young Indian middle class to both executive and ordinary clients
whom they serve in united states.
╺ In this novel Chetan Bhagat’s is to convey a message to the people of India from the
situation of the characters like the harshness of the situation of women in India.
╺ The novel Chetan Bhagat presents modernity like smoking is the contemporary
metaphore of melancholic state of being depression, stress, feel bad.
╺ Bhagat also talks about the Indian family like the situation of Radhika in her in law’s
house. Like on day she do house hold works and in night she works in call center.

Conclusion :
╺ This novel shows the different themes. It shows the different problems of
the youth and gives the ideas their solutions.
╺ Chetan Bhagat shows the reality of India.
╺ It shows the current problems of youth and nation.
╺ The characters it shows the problems in the relationship, Globalization and
it’s effect on the nation, condition of women in India.
╺ So, it highlights the problems and trying to give the solution at the end of
the novel.
