Greywater, or wastewater from sources other than toilets and kitchens, can be recycled to reduce water consumption by 35-40%. A case study examines recycling greywater from 225 apartments using a REVOSIS system to treat 49,500 gallons per day. This saves over $324,000 per year and pays for itself within 1.5 years. The treated greywater is used for toilet flushing and irrigation to significantly cut fresh water usage.
