1. A penetrating, hydrophobic concrete sealant

2. Fluid iSoylator™ is a penetrating concrete sealant derived from soybeans. It is an
environmentally friendly product that works a little differently from typical concrete
sealants.
Fluid iSoylator™ is absorbed into the
concrete from the surface and
remains a viscous, hydrophobic fluid
through its entire life span.
Film Sealants (Silanes)
Many sealants create a film on the
concrete’s surface by undergoing a
chemical reaction of two components or
with air.

3. The principle behind Fluid iSoylator™ is simple. The material has a surface tension that is well
below that of water. This means that, given some time, the sealant can spread thinner than water.
This allows the sealant to make its way into any area of the concrete where water (or similar fluids)
would be able to gain entry.

Material properties which allow the sealant to make its way into the concrete ahead of fluids are
complimented nicely by the sealants viscosity, which is an order of magnitude higher than water.
This allows the sealant to form a thick, hydrophobic, barrier within the concrete’s pores to provide
long lasting protection from freezing water and deleterious fluids that may be on the surface.

5. Under ideal conditions, both methods can effectively reduce the concretes exposure
to water and fluids (such as salts).
However, if damage has been initiated (mechanical abrasion, freeze/thaw, salt crystallization,
etc.) a film treatment becomes vulnerable to fluids and can even limit the ability for
fluids that have been absorbed to dry.

6. Unlike film sealants which attempt to protect concrete by creating a barrier between fluids at the
surface and concrete pores, Fluid iSoylator is itself absorbed into the pores to block fluids.

ray techniques (left) or by including a florescent pigment in the sealant and investigating

Damaged Conditions
When exposed to simulated winter
conditions (ASTM C 666), silane based (film)
sealants provide limited protection once
damage is initiated (red).
Fluid iSoylator remains fluid and can adjust
to protect for a much longer duration (blue).

Fluid iSoylator™ prevents freeze/thaw damage by filling
pores ahead of the water. Similar to closing a container
with a plug rather than a cover. The quantifiable data of
the damage from winter is validated by the visual
evidence of the samples at the completion of
temperature cycling.

10. Since being demonstrated in lab research Fluid iSoylator has
been used to protect:

Residential Driveways/Patios/Sidewalks
Consumer Products

11. On top of the functional benefits of Fluid iSoylator™ it is very easy to apply at any
scale. A backpack sprayer provides a quick, simple method for most applications. A
pull behind trailer/sprayer could offer a simple, very fast method for high volume
sealing. The only preparation required is having a dry concrete free of debris.

12. Fluid iSoylator™ is also safe to handle and easy to store.
INHALATION: Negligible unless heated to produce vapors.
EYE CONTACT: May cause irritation. Irrigate eye with water for at
least 15 to 20 minutes. Seek medical attention if symptoms
persist.
SKIN CONTACT: Prolonged or repeated contact is not likely to
cause significant skin irritation. Wash exposed areas of the body
with soap and water.
INGESTION: No hazards anticipated from ingestion incidental to
industrial exposure. Give one or two glasses of water to drink. If
gastro-intestinal symptoms develop, consult medical personnel.
(Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.)

13. Fluid iSoylator is a product of one of the areas most common crops
Made and packaged in Indiana, this product uses soybeans from
local sources
•One pail (5 gallons) of Fluid iSoylator uses 3.4 bushels
of soybeans
•One gallon of Fluid iSoylator treats 130 ft2 of concrete
•One acre of soybeans produces Fluid iSoylator to treat
7,410 ft2 of concrete (just under ½ mile of standard
sidewalk)
