2. DEFINITION:
2
The term “Green Economy” was first coined in the Blueprint for a
green economy (1989) report by Pearce, Markandya, and Barbier.
low carbon,
resource efficient and
socially inclusive.
A “Green Economy” is defined as
“Green Economics” is a methodology of economics that supports the interaction
between humans and nature and attempts to meet the needs of both simultaneously,
without causing any pollution or complete depletion of available resources.
3. WHY THERE IS A NEED FOR GREEN
ECONOMY ?
3
Population Explosion was the prime reason
for the immediate need of green economy.
To Save the world from Poverty, Scarcity
Unemployment
There is huge demand for Food, Shelter and
Fresh water for the Growing population rate.
And the people lives under poverty also keeps
increasing
Humans are occupying and destroying forests,
polluting water resources for their greed and
need.
4. ENVIRONMENTAL RISKS :
ADD A FOOTER 4
Sudden and Unusual climate change,
Increase in the emission of Green house gases.
Pollutions in Air, Water, Land and Noise.
Mismanaged Urbanization
General Risks in our surroundings
Ecological Risks are,
Food and water scarcity,
Energy for Factories and Industries,
New and Different types of
uncurable Diseases,
Lack of Proper Shelters,
Lack of Raw Materials.
5. CURRENT TRENDS
5
1. BUILDINGS: Promoting High Efficiency in new buildings is highly cost effective and impleting some
modern landscape gardening will make it more efficiency.
2. APPLIANCES: G8 Countries are actively creating and implementing Energy Efficiency policies for
appliances like Standby Power, Eco – Design Products.
3. LIGHTING: All G8 Countries have pursued policies to increase the Energy Efficiency in the Lighting
sector like replacing old and High power consuming lamps with CFLs.
4. TRANSPORT: Eco – drive policies, Electric Vehicles, Low rolling resistance, Fuel Efficiency standards.
RESULT: Because of those trends Global net lighting costs will reduced by 1.3 trillion from 2008 to 2030
and for the Transport, we can reduce 5% in overall vehicle fuel consumption.
ITS MAINLY BASED ON (3R) REDUCE, REUSE AND RECYCLE

CURRENT TRENDS
5. RENEWABLE ENERGY: SOLAR, GEO – THERMAL, WIND, HYDRO and many eco friendly
production of Energies.
6. CLEAN AND EFFICIENT WASTE MANAGEMENT:
Conventional landfill or Dumpsite Disposal for proper and ordered Recyclable and
Non – Recyclable wastes for reusing those resources efficiently upto 99%.
