Restoration of degraded forests and landscapes for production/delivery of multiple ecosystem goods and services

Appl Geog Defn: an area or a land that has declined function in productivity, hydrological purpose, low carbon content, low biodiversity level, and low vegetation cover due to loss of soil organic matter, which make the soil is physically, chemically, and biologically infertile. ICCC, 2014 (land cov., slope, potential erosion, land productivity, land management)

  5. 5. Key points for discussion… • Vast amounts of deforested and degraded land in Indonesia and globally – provide limited benefits to human and nature; • FLR is finally getting traction but actual progress is slow – due to the limited financing and other limitations • Quantifying, and valuing ecosystem goods and services can support restoration – restoration can also improve ecosystem services, which leads to a win-win scenario
