    In the more modern forms of singing the
     bouzouki, baglama, mandolin, guitar, bass, etc.
     are used.
It’s a stringed, lute-type instrument.
It’s used throughout the Arab world, Thrace and Asia
  Minor.

The name comes from the medieval word 'odd'(couple-pair)
that is a pair of instruments.
It is found in all regions of the country, including a 'style'
and a 'melody' instrument.

In the mainland of Greece is the daouli with the zourna.
In the islands is the lute with violin, while in northern
Greece, tambourine and lyre (toumperleki with bagpipes).
