Introduction
 The goal of the Grass Cutting Robot was to develop a
functional moving machine that would be capable of moving
extremely hillsides without compromising anyone’s safety,
including that of the operator.
 This project uses 750mA power supply, 8051 micro controller
& 7805 three terminal voltage regulator is used for voltage
regulation
 It is latest technology which is operated through Smartphone
with help of Bluetooth module.

Chassis
 Powder coated Metal chassis for robots. Easy to mount the motors on place
by using normal motor mount nut.
 It can either be used in skid steel configuration (5 motors) or differential
configuration (2 rear wheels + 2 front wheel + 1 front motor).
 The body contains perforated holes for easy mounting of various size circuit
boards and other mechanical components.

Wheels
 This is a white screw mount tyre wheel used in different robotics
applications. In this project we used 4 wheels (2 in the front and 2 in
the back.
Features of 4''white Screw Mount Tyre:-
 Width of the tyre: 22 mm.
 Diameter of the tyre: 110 mm.
 Diameter of the Shaft Hole: 6 mm
 On the wheel there are grippers used to
move in sand and grass without skid

Blades
Description
 This blade is made of steel used to cut grass in our project.
 The height of the blade can be adjust to 3-5cm height with the
help of three screws.
Features of Blade
 Width of Blade: 10mm
 Length of Blade: 50mm
 Thickness of Blade: 1mm

Battery
 An electric battery is a device consisting of one or more
electrochemical cells with external connections provided to
power electrical devices.
 When a battery is supplying electric power, its positive
terminal is the cathode and its negative terminal is the
anode.
 The capacity of battery is 12V.

Bluetooth
Bluetooth is a standard used in links of radio of short scope, destined to
replace wired connections between electronic devices like cellular telephones,
Personal Digital Assistants (PDA), computers, and many other devices.
Every device will have to be equipped with a microchip (transceiver) that
transmits and receives in the frequency of 2.4 GHz that is available in the whole
world (with some variations of bandwidth in different countries).

Electromagnetic direct current (DC) motors
 Usually runs high speed and low torque.
 Motor rotates at 60 – 100 rpm.

IR sensor
• The module consist of a IR emitter and IR receiver pair. The high
precision IR receiver always detects a IR signal.

Existing Method Drawbacks
 Expensive is High.
 Noise level is High.
 Weight of Lawn Mower is
high as compared to Grass
Cutting Robot.
 Power Consumption is more.

 Easy controlling.
 Operated in Dangerous Places where human cannot go.
 It can Stop When any obstacles Suddenly come in front of
Grass Cutting Robot.
 The Blade can be adjustable for cutting different height of
grass.
Disadvantages
 Battery backup is low.
 Grass will cut within the blade limits.

Future Scope
 To allow greater flexibility in design.
 The weight of lawn cutter can be
reduced by fiber
plastic instead of Mild steel.
 It can also equipped with
water sprinkling system for watering
the plants and grass
Conclusion
 From this project we conclude that the grass cutting robot will
reduces the human effort in performing grass cutting operation
and also reduces the accidental hazards in a hilly areas while
performing grass cutting operation by utilizing the wireless
technology

  • 3. Introduction  The goal of the Grass Cutting Robot was to develop a functional moving machine that would be capable of moving extremely hillsides without compromising anyone’s safety, including that of the operator.  This project uses 750mA power supply, 8051 micro controller & 7805 three terminal voltage regulator is used for voltage regulation  It is latest technology which is operated through Smartphone with help of Bluetooth module.

  • 6. Hardware requirement:  Chassis  Wheels  Blades  12v Battery  Bluetooth module  Motor driver  Motor  IR sensor
  • 7. Chassis  Powder coated Metal chassis for robots. Easy to mount the motors on place by using normal motor mount nut.  It can either be used in skid steel configuration (5 motors) or differential configuration (2 rear wheels + 2 front wheel + 1 front motor).  The body contains perforated holes for easy mounting of various size circuit boards and other mechanical components. Fig 3:- Chassis
  • 8. Wheels  This is a white screw mount tyre wheel used in different robotics applications. In this project we used 4 wheels (2 in the front and 2 in the back. Features of 4''white Screw Mount Tyre:-  Width of the tyre: 22 mm.  Diameter of the tyre: 110 mm.  Diameter of the Shaft Hole: 6 mm  On the wheel there are grippers used to move in sand and grass without skid Fig 4:- Wheels
  • 9. Blades Description  This blade is made of steel used to cut grass in our project.  The height of the blade can be adjust to 3-5cm height with the help of three screws. Features of Blade  Width of Blade: 10mm  Length of Blade: 50mm  Thickness of Blade: 1mm Fig 5:- Blades
  • 10. Battery  An electric battery is a device consisting of one or more electrochemical cells with external connections provided to power electrical devices.  When a battery is supplying electric power, its positive terminal is the cathode and its negative terminal is the anode.  The capacity of battery is 12V. Fig 6:- Battery
  • 11. Bluetooth Bluetooth is a standard used in links of radio of short scope, destined to replace wired connections between electronic devices like cellular telephones, Personal Digital Assistants (PDA), computers, and many other devices. Every device will have to be equipped with a microchip (transceiver) that transmits and receives in the frequency of 2.4 GHz that is available in the whole world (with some variations of bandwidth in different countries).   • 12. Electromagnetic direct current (DC) motors  Usually runs high speed and low torque.  Motor rotates at 60 – 100 rpm. Motor Fig 8:- Motor
  • 13. IR sensor • The module consist of a IR emitter and IR receiver pair. The high precision IR receiver always detects a IR signal. Fig 9:- IR sensor
  • 14. EXISTING METHOD & THEIR DRAWBACKS Existing Method Drawbacks  Expensive is High.  Noise level is High.  Weight of Lawn Mower is high as compared to Grass Cutting Robot.  Power Consumption is more. Fig 10 :-Electrical Lawn Mower
  • 15. Existing Method Drawbacks  Expensive is High.  Noise in Operation.  Pollution to Environment.  Fuel Consumption is more.  Size is big.  Water Sprinkle is not there. Petrol Engine Lawn Mower Fig:-11
  • 16. PROPOSED METHOD Proposed Method Advantages Grass Cutting Robot  Small in Size.  Expensive is Less.  Noise level is Less.  Weight is Less.  Power Consumption is less.  Sprinkle of water. Fig:-12
  • 18. Advantages  Easy controlling.  Operated in Dangerous Places where human cannot go.  It can Stop When any obstacles Suddenly come in front of Grass Cutting Robot.  The Blade can be adjustable for cutting different height of grass.
  • 19. Disadvantages  Battery backup is low.  Grass will cut within the blade limits. Applications  Grass Cutting  Agriculture
  • 20. Future Scope  To allow greater flexibility in design.  The weight of lawn cutter can be reduced by fiber plastic instead of Mild steel.  It can also equipped with water sprinkling system for watering the plants and grass
  • 21. Conclusion  From this project we conclude that the grass cutting robot will reduces the human effort in performing grass cutting operation and also reduces the accidental hazards in a hilly areas while performing grass cutting operation by utilizing the wireless technology
