2011 Governor’s Technology Awards<br />Entry Form<br />Presented by Louisiana Economic Development and the Louisiana Technology Council<br />Deadline for entry: June 13, 2011<br />Please e-mail completed nomination form in Word to:<br />Mary Taurman, Louisiana Technology Council<br />mtaurman@ltc-la.org. <br />The winners will be honored at a luncheon in Baton Rouge, LA(location pending)Keynote speaker:  Governor Jindal<br />Louisiana continues to evolve as a state with a vibrant, balanced economy, a fully engaged, well-educated workforce and a quality of life that eventually will place it among the top ten states in the country in which to live, work, visit and do business (Louisiana Vision 2020).  <br />The 2011 Governor’s Technology Awards competition, presented by the Louisiana Technology Council and Louisiana Economic Development, is one of the ways we emphasize technology as the driving force behind the growth and diversification of the state’s economy.  Developing a Culture of Innovation is a major component of Louisiana: Vision 2020.   It focuses attention on technology across all industries such as medical and biotech, manufacturing, software, internet and telecommunications, advanced materials, and much more.  Environmental, green and other emerging technologies are also helping to drive the technology industry in Louisiana.  With this event, we are seeking unique and cutting edge technology applications, individuals and organizations that have made a difference in the State of Louisiana and across the United States. <br />Five broad categories will honor individuals as well as companies, universities and other organizations that advocate technology, and they are:<br />Technology Leader of the Year<br />Technology Company of the Year<br />University Technology Leader of the Year<br />Innovator of the Year<br />Rising Star of the Year<br />Our challenge is to create a new and better Louisiana and technology is considered to be the guide to economic renewal and diversification.  It is a platform for innovative initiatives and entrepreneurship.  It is a process by which our progress toward long-term goals will be managed and monitored.  <br />Please enter your organization, leaders in your organization, leaders in your city or community, or industry for the 2011 Governor’s Technology Awards. The contribution may be through research, work force development, job creation, scholarship, public awareness and/or entrepreneurial activity. <br />When submitting your nominees for the Technology Leader of the Year Award, please use the following outline. Technology should be the innovative energy fueling this emerging or expanding company.<br />When submitting your nominees for the Technology Company of the Year Award, please use the following outline.  Please do not send pre-printed marketing materials such as brochures or annual reports. Contributions may be through leadership in the area of technology transfer, or the commercialization of new technology; development of innovative processes and products; training the workforce that will provide the innovators of tomorrow; diversity of research, scholarship, and/or patent and license activity.<br /> <br />When submitting your nominees for the University Technology Leader of the Year Award, please use the following outline. Entries in this category must have incorporated in Louisiana within the past three years.  <br />When submitting your nominees for Rising Star of the Year Award, please use the following outline.
