Google Map Maker allows users to add and update geographic information by adding places, editing existing places, adding roads, trails and waterways, and reviewing other users' edits. To make edits, users log into Google Map Maker with their Google account and add or edit places and submit the updates for review. All new edits require approval by a trusted Google Maps reviewer before being published. The interface includes a viewport to work on the map, toolbar for adding features when zoomed in, left panel with edit information, and search tools to find locations.
