This document discusses research on gender diversity on boards of directors and corporate sustainability practices. It reviews prior literature that examined the impact of gender diverse boards on sustainability reporting quality and CSR performance. However, the literature did not examine the impact on overall business sustainability or look specifically at gender diverse boards of Malaysian public listed companies. The research aims to address these gaps by studying the impact of gender diverse boards on corporate sustainability practices and overall business sustainability of Malaysian firms. It develops hypotheses to test these relationships and if corporate sustainability practices mediate the relationship between board diversity and business sustainability.
