2 - 4 April 2019. Cairo, Egypt "Boosting the Role and Potential of Organic Farming in Africa". In April 2019, 39 participants from Africa and Europe met in Sekem, Egypt with the purpose to exchange and strategize organic development and spreading knowledge about organic farming in Africa.

4. Process of proposals and selection
 Idea: local partners should implement the regional hubs in WA, EA and SA
 Call for proposals in two steps:
1) call for letters of intent – 56 expressions of interest
2) 9 full proposals (concept, budget, etc.), 3 per region
 Selection of 1 proposal per region by BMZ, Advisory Board, GIZ for appraisal mission
criteria: concept, expertise, resources, ownership, sustainability, etc.
 assessement: appraisal mission + commercial and legal elegibility checks
