2.  Notices and Instructions are very short pieces of writings.
 We usually find short notices which are only in one line.
Most notices are meant to be pinned up or pasted on special boards.
 They are being used to educate people and are a kind of guidelines.
The importance of such notices is growing today.

3. How to write short public notices and instructions
Writing an effective notice is a kind of an art.
They are very simple and catchy. They attract our attention. They are very
understandable. Even a common man can easily understand them. We see such notices &
instructions in schools, colleges, hospitals, gardens, temples and on the road sides
as traffic guidelines. Notices must be written in a clear and lucid style.
In many universities the interpretation of short notices and instructions has become
the part of the syllabus. The purpose of this is to provide some exercise in
composition. Students are expected to compose a paragraph writing about
the given notices.

4.  Students need to give attention to the following points
while writing a paragraph about the given notices.
 Where the particular notice is displayed?
 What does the notice convey?
 For whom is it displayed there?
 What purpose does it serve?

5.  Some commonly displayed public notices and
instructions are.

5. Road break ahead. 6. Emergency exit.
7. Go slow, work in progress. 8. Speed thrills but kills.
9. Handle with care. 10. Beware of pick pockets.
