4. Differences In Retention
● Regular Retention - It works but it contains at least 2 full
backups, which consumes about half of the storage usage.
● Forever Forward Incremental (FFI) - Great way to save on
storage for short and mid-term retention up to 6 months. FFI
always stores only 1 FULL in the storage bucket.
● Grandfather Father Son (GFS) - Another great way to save
on storage for long term archival data. Immutability/Object
Lock is also available as a feature in this retention policy.
Store individual FULL backups with additional retention
without extra incrementals.
5. Forever Forward Incremental
● What is Forever Forward Incremental?
● Saves up to 50% in storage costs compared
to regular backup retention policies
● Stores only 1 full backup in storage
● Fast uploads from devices
● Easy configuration

10. Grandfather-Father-Son
● GFS for short, is a retention policy for the given backup
plan which is based on storing several full backups.
● Allows you to create a flexible archival strategy and
optimize the number of full backups at the same time.
● The regular retention and GFS retention policies are
combined to keep the balance between the data
availability and storage expenses.
11. GFS applicability
● Available on Windows agents
● Requires scheduling periodical Full Backup!

● Can be configured as a default option for the
● storage bucket.
would like to include a globe here with dots on markets we serve .
i would also like to include some of the bigger clients we work with both on the MSP side and on the Business side.
basically what im thinking is combine slides 3-6 into one slide. a lot of them have similar info on it already and we can pick and choose what we like.
