Parents must ensure that children are brought up well. Most parents do not educate their boys on various critical issues. They may not care about the emotions of the boys as they care about girls’ emotions. The relationship between Digby and Jeff in the Greasy lake article proves what is stated in Orenstein’s article because it shows aspects of toxic masculinity, hiding one’s emotions, using abusive language, misogyny, and the bro culture.
The relationship between Jeff and Digby shows numerous aspects of toxic masculinity. Both characters in Boyle's article engage in a fight. This is an aspect of toxic masculinity as they think that the person who wins is the best of all. “Jeff was on the guy’s back, biting his ear. Digby was on the ground, cursing” (Boyle,3). They think it is good to fight because it shows who is the strongest. The boys in Orenstein's article also engage in fights and give each other hard times. They sometimes pretend to pick a fight and kick each other.
Jeff and Digby's relationship also shows that one should hide his/her emotions. Jeff and Diggy do not act emotionally. In Orenstein's article, the boys believe that they should not act emotionally. One should always hide their feelings and “man up”. Boys and young men are not expected to cry. They are expected to withstand the bad things done or said to them by other people.
Both Jeff and Digby use abusive language. This proves what is stated in Orenstein's article about the use of slurs amongst boys. "Digby, Jeff, and I included- were chanting 'motherfucker, motherfucker" (Boyle,4). The boys seem to have accepted the use of abusive language, and this proves what Orenstein explains about young men that they love using abusive language. Those who use slurs are considered heroes.
Jeff and Digby are recruited into the bandwagon of unconscious misogyny. Consciousness is gained when undesired occurrences land them in trouble, it is through this that they learn the disadvantages of their foolish perceptions.
“Digby's face was crosshatched with smears of dirt; Jeff's jacket was gone and his shirt was torn across the shoulder. They slouched across the lot, looking sheepish, and silently came up beside me to gape at the ravaged automobile. No one said a word” (Boyle,5).
According to Ornstein, young men are raised to be tough; however improper care and parenting make them develop undesired toxic masculinity. It is because of toxic masculinity that men will often be misogynistic, and be portrayed as misogynists because of the way they treat women, and how they value women. Young men make nasty comments on girls and their language proves their hatred towards the women. They establish masculinity through homophobia and misogynist language.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

4. ● In order to analyze gender representations in Toy Story 3, firstly we have to
understand what gender is. According to Oxford dictionary: “Gender (noun) :
The state of being male or female (typically used with reference to social and
cultural differences rather than biological ones)
● Gender stereotype is the overgeneralizations about the features and the
characteristics of the whole group of one gender. Therefore, the individuals feel
that they have to act according to the rules even if they are abusive and
misleading. That is why gender-stereotyping is wrong.
● Children could learn the gender-stereotyping from everyone and everything
around them like their parents, siblings, relatives, books, movies, commercials
etc.
5. ● Unfortunately, children meet the media on their early years and so they expose the
gender-stereotyping via media tools mostly during their life
● It affects their developmental areas like socio-emotional development, language
development and cognitive development. For instance, gender stereotyping decrease
children’s self-esteem and self-confidence or it may lead to children gain wrong
vocabulary items like ‘throwing like a girl’ or children may have trouble with de-
construction such as ‘sense of beauty’
● Children see these kinds of examples via different kinds of media tools again and
again, so these patterns could be imbedded in their subconscious.
6. ● We examined the effects of different media tools in terms of gender-
stereotyping like story books, magazines, ads, movies, cartoons. We
collected many data about them but we decided to one animation movie
‘Toy Story 3’ because this movie includes common characters which most
of children know well like Barbie and Ken. Also, although most of the
parents think that these characters are so innocent and harmless for their
children, we have different examples of gender-stereotyping in the movie.
7. For example, Wilson claims that "Toy Story 3" is full of negative
female stereotypes that can give the wrong impression about gender
roles. She writes that the mother in the movie is depicted as
"nagging," while Barbie is shown as "over emotional" and "hyper-
feminine." Her packaged partner in crime, Ken, is painted as a
"closeted gay fashionista" who is constantly teased.

These are a serial movie and the first movie of the serial was in 1995 the second one was in 1999 and the third one we mentioned about today was in 2010.
He is Andy. He has got the toys in the serial movie.
He is Woody and he is a male kowboy.
She is jessie and she is female cowboy.
He is buzz. He is robotic male character. He is brave and strong. He is close friend of Woddy and he is falling love with jessie.
These are MR. and MRS. Potato Head. They are married.They love each other.
Barbie and Ken are taking part in toy story 3. They are falling love at the first sight.
Like barbie and ken, Lotso and big baby are taking part in toy story 3. These are toys which live in the day care center and they think that their ex owner abandoned them. Because of this reason,in the movie, they behave other toys in bad ways.
Andy decides to pick up his toys to attic because he does not play any more with them and he is going to start college. However the toys go to Sunnyside the day care center accidentally by thinking that Andy does not love them anymore. They think that being in the day care center is better than being in an attic. On the contrary, some confusions occur in Sunnyside and they come back Andy at the end of the movie. Andy give them a little girl and the girl starts to play with them.
In the video you can see some cuts from the movie. With the help of them we will try to inform you about the dangers of this movie.
8)Mrs Potato hits the Cowboy with her bag instead of the nunchucks while holding both in her hands.This might be a stereotype which means if you are a woman you can’t use “manly” weapons.
7) There is another gender discrimination because the barbie is the most feminine character and only she cries.
6) Barbie is wearing one of Ken’s costumes as a disguise. She wears high heels under an astronaut costume. It might seem innocent at first sight, however the face expression of the bookworm implies that ‘this is the kind of thing you can expect from a girls toy’.
5)This event implies that muscular men have more chance in influencing women. As you can see in the Mr. Potato’s face. He is frustrated because he is skinny.
4)Barbie says “Authority should derive from the consent of the governed, not from the threat of force”. The problem here is not what Barbie says. Rather than that the problem is the face expressions of other toys after they hear these wise words from Barbie. The face expressions may imply that other toys are surprised and they couldn’t believe Barbie could speak like that. This can be an example of gender discrimination that means if you're Barbie or a blond woman it is unusual for you to be intelligent.
3)There is another sexist insult that is more dangerous when compared to others, because the action of Lotso involves not only verbal but physical violence against a woman. When Lotso pulls out the detachable mouth of Mrs. Potato; this doesn’t only imply that women talk too much or unnecessary , it might also imply that you don’t have to respect women. Because Lotso pulls her mouth out right after she says I deserve more respect.
2) There is another gender stereotype which means that if you are a girl, your handwriting is pretty and you are supposed to be tidy and clean.
1) There is a discrimination of girl-boy toys. Furthermore there is a sexist insult “What do you expect from a girls toy?” which can mean that it is a shame to be a girls toy.
