created.Butinnoduecourse oftime

thesecruelactsonwomenandtriedto
bringequalityandthebritishersalso

But today society has become
so unbelievably violent and
corrupt that the Women can no
longer safe in their bodies.In
India a women is raped every 20
minutes in the world’s largest
democracy and even children
five years sre subjected to
rape.The status of women in
India has been subject to many
changes over span of recorded
Indian history.
with women
participating in
nationalist movements,
to being pushed into the
domestic Household
space,to their
resurgence as super
women today,women in
our country have seen it
all.
What is Gender Sensitization ?
Gender sensitization is process that
aims to raise awareness of gender
equality and change people’s
Attitude and behaviour toward gender.
Meaning:
Gender sensitization can help with:
❖Creating awareness about gender related issues.
❖Dismantling gender biases.
❖Examining people’s personal attitude and beliefs
❖Questioning the realities people think they know.
❖Understanding social and cultural constructions of gender.
❖Generating awarenesss of equality in law,socialsystem and
democratic activities.

POLITICAL
➢ As of 2018-2019 9% of women in the rajya
sabha and 11% of in lok sabha of parliament
India ranks 99th in the world in female
representation.
➢ 73rd & 74th Constitutional amendment acts
have ensured the participation of women in
panchayat raj institutions with a reservation
of 1/3rd ,Later it was increased to 50%.
➢ Women ReservationBill(108th
Amendment)Bill,2008:
The Bill seeksto reserve 1/3rd seats for women in
Lok sabha and all state assemblies.
