The IT industry in India contributed 7.2% to India's GDP in FY2018. The industry size was USD 167 billion in FY2018 and is estimated to reach USD 350 billion by FY2025, growing at a CAGR of 10.71%. The IT industry employs over 3.97 million people. Key segments of the industry include IT services, business process management, software products and engineering services, and hardware. The IT services segment accounts for 51.7% of the industry's revenue. Going forward, demand, demographics, and policy support are expected to be the major growth drivers for the Indian IT industry.

terms.Theforeignoperationsofmultinationalfirmsaroundtheworldgenerate
onlyabout9%ofglobaloutput.Exportsofgoodsandservicesaddupto29%of
worldGDP,buteventhatfigurecomesdowntoabout20%ifweadjustfor
