This is my final picture of how my design and construction of the sign
looked when being used in the performance, so far this is how I
expected it to look apart from the placing, I have used the same
specific colours and fonts which I initially thought of.
This materials list was imperative in the construction of our sets. This helped us to
determine which materials were best to use for specific things and what we needed
exactly so we didn’t waste anything. For example, if two people needed a specific colour
of the same red paint, this list help determine how much was necessary to spend money
on or source.
Materials;
>x1 sea blue dulux paint
>x1 summer yellow dulux paint
>x1 grass green dulux paint
>x1 wood (?)
>x3 paint brushes
>x1 black sharpie marker
>Sandpaper
>pencil
>pva glue
STEP 1:
I drew and cut out the shape of the sign I wanted correctly along side the specific measurements I had worked out
for it to fit perfectly between the floor and the top of the balcony.
STEP 2:
Due to cutting the shape out of the wood using an electric saw some of the sides were not exactly straight
therefore I used sand paper to ensure all sides were even.
STEP 3:
After this, I then painted the background of the wood in yellow, I gave this 2 coats in order for it to look bright
enough for on stage use.
STEP 4:
I then printed off the letters of ‘STOP ‘N’ SHOP’ separately on A4 pieces of paper at 450pt in font comic sans,
which fitted perfectly on to the sign.
STEP 5:
Next I, stuck each letter on to the wood and drew around it, in order to get a precise smooth line to paint. I then
took all the letters off.
STEP 6:
Once Id took the letters off I painted the ‘SHOP’ and ‘STOP’ in blue and painted the ‘N’ in green in order to split
the lettering up.
STEP 7:
When this had dried I then painted the background in yellow again to ensure it was vibrant enough, and painted
anything I thought that needed touching up.
STEP 8:
Finally, I went around each letter and apostrophe with a black sharpie to ensure maximum visibility on stage.
